I was in Waukesha on Friday night around dinner time and knew I wanted to stop at someplace I hadn't been to yet for a fish fry. Of the bookmarks I had within reasonable driving distance, Sideliners Pub & Grill intrigued me the most. I ended up ordering the three piece beer battered perch with potato pancakes for the side and wings for an appetizer with half Cajun dry rub and half Jamaican BBQ jerk sauce. I thought it was interesting that the jerk sauce was specifically labeled as "Jamaican BBQ jerk" and it ended up being an accurate description. It was more BBQ flavored than jerk flavored and had almost no heat to it like jerk normal does. The Cajun rub, on the other hand, had great heat and Cajun flavor. The jerk sauce wasn't bad, but my preference was the Cajun rub. In a picture I saw of the potato pancakes they looked like they were Italian breaded, similar to mozzarella sticks. Again, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, the pancakes didn't live up to my expectations. The breading didn't have much Italian seasoning and the pancakes were like mashed potatoes formed into disks rather than more common potato pancakes that are shredded potato flavored with onion. The pancakes were my least favorite part of the meal. The perch didn't taste like yellow lake perch and was probably something cheaper like pike perch. Even though I did like the beer batter, it wasn't exactly was I was hoping for when I ordered perch, but it wasn't bad. read more

Came here with a friend on a weekday. We had read that they have pretty good burgers. Arrived a little before noon. It is a pub and grill, so that is exactly what we expected, a bar that serves food. A big bar with a large seating area. They also have a large patio that would be nice during warmer weather. On the other side of the dining area is a long wall of video poker machines. That had me a little concerned because they can sometimes be distracting. Got settled in right away with menus and waters. Our server was patient as we kept getting distracted by our conversation. The menu is diverse, with a large selection of apps, salads, burgers, and other sandwiches. Would have loved to try the pepperjack wontons, but that will have to wait until next time. We settled on the Buffalo Burger and the Jalapeno Heater Burger. I was not sure about the jalapenos, so I asked for them on the side. It was a short wait until the burgers arrived. Both were the right temperatures, with mine being a nicely done medium rare. The flash fried jalapenos on the side were very good and not too hot. We ended up eating them separately, like appetizers, and they were surprisingly good. In hindsight I should have placed them back on the burger where they belonged. Both burgers were very good, but the consensus was that the Buffalo Burger was the winner, probably due to the nicely cooked bacon. Everything was going well until a few people sat down at the video poker machines. In many bars the volume is either off or turned way down, or at least the machines are placed near the bar and not so close to the dining area. One machine was at full volume and the noise was genuinely unpleasant. I might want to go back for another burger, but unfortunately the noise from the video games would keep me away. read more

What a great pub and grill in North Prairie! They have a spacious outdoor patio and it looks like summer will be really fun out there with games and open air concept. Per advice from my server, I had the ribs and soooo glad it did! They were perfect and tender with delicious and plenty of bbq sauce! Sweet potato fries were standard. Kids meals were a good selection including a full size burger with pretzel bun, side and drink. It was gone before I could get pics! read more

Stopped in since I had the Lake Country City Tin and they have a kids menu, which is a must nowadays. They were fairly busy for a Saturday night and all of the low tables were being used, which wasn't ideal as we needed either a high chair or keep baby in her car seat. Outdoor seating is more to lounge than dine, so we went with a high top and made do with the car seat. The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a bar and grill, with pizza, wings, burgers and apps. I tried the whiskey bbq burger, which had crispy bacon and a nice tang to the sauce. For drinks we got the Orange Whip and Purple Haze, both had good flavor to them. Wanted to check out a new-to-us local resultant. We split cheese curds that were really good and the ranch was sooo good! I had the BLT steak Caesar wrap but substituted avocado for the lettuce. It was really good and the steak was delicious! Service was great as well, our server was appropriately attentive! Great place for families or to go watch a game! Local bar with ok food. Female Servers are NOT friendly (or attractive) and strongly favor their local drunks! Hard to get their attention as they continually talk with, yell at and shake dice with only the nightly hard-core drinkers. Burgers are usually good, everything else is average. Many golfers stop in after playing Broadlands and find this place to be UN-FRIENDLY as they dress different and are not one of the nightly loudmouths who scream and swear.... low class regulars. Owner is never there except for a short stop in during lunch. Common complaint from occasional guests perceived as the high-class rich folks and not the local townies. One server also teaches grade school in the area and is nice, but not there often. As was commented by many, the usually rude Scanks that work there are rude, unattractive drunks!! read more

The TVs are great for watching a game, ribs are good, however, other food on the menu is mediocre at best and really nothing special. It had been over a year since my previous visit and I can wait another year to see if they have improved. The biggest question I asked myself is " would you order it again ?" Nice little spot! Went here for lunch on a Monday with some work associates while on the road. They were local and made the recommendation. Cool little sports bar. It's appears to be on the smaller side but, when the weather is nice, they have a great outdoor seating area as well. I had a burger and cole slaw on this visit. The burger was good. Nothing to complain about there. I was looking for more of a basic traditional burger (cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, etc.) but their selection was a little more on the creative side. That said, they were accommodating to what I really wanted without any grief. The cole slaw was on the sweeter creamier side. This is just how I like it, so that was a win for me. Mind you, cole slaw is one of those things that has a number of varying factors, so I am open to different interpretations as long as they have flavor. Would I go back? I would. I might explore other options in the area but I would recommend Sideliners to a friend who might be coming through the area. The atmosphere was quite "neighborhood-ish", so I feel like this is a great place to watch a game with friends in the area. The service was fantastic. We went on a Friday night around 6:30 pm. It was packed and a 30 minute wait. It is a sports pub. Many TVs to watch your favorite WI sport. We had the bbq jerk chicken pizza with cauliflower crust. It is a 9 ". If you are hungry it is a meal for one. Generous toppings. The order came out pretty quick even though they were busy. The waitress was very nice. We will definitely go back. They have a party room that is drinks only and no food. You can wait there for your table. You get a pager to let you know your table is ready. read more

They dont serve some of the outside tables. No staff mentioned this so we asked the table next to us. Staff heard us and then came over to tell us they dont serve this table & to go to another table & check the QR code to order. QR wasn't to their restaurant. Finally found one for Sideliners, no drink orders on the code. So far service is non-existent, staff is ambivalent & when they suggested we sit at another table, we did...at a different restaurant. We've been coming to Sideliners for a long time since it was in the old location and always had a great time and good food. Our previous experience was pretty disastrous, with a chicken citrus salad that the chicken had a slimy chewy texture (like it was thawed, refrozen and thawed again then cooked). Made mention to our server and just got a blank look. Wasn't looking for it to comped, but an apology would have been nice. Fast forward to last night. I've order a Whiskey BBQ burger as I have done many times before. There was no flavor to the meat, and it wasn't given any time to rest as there were fat juices under and surrounding the bottom bun, just not appealing on a white plate. I thought about getting their cod fish fry, but this has been the only establishment I have ever seen that had Market Rate for all of their Friday fish specials. Ya - the food here has been good in the past. However, recently they were understaffed, unorganized, and couldn't figure out how to keep track of those who waited to be seated. Those arriving after we did were seated as we waited over an hour for a table. Not just us but the others who arrived when we did. We were told their paging was not working but felt more like the hired staff were not bright enough to keep it straight. I may go back but not for a long while. read more

Sideliners is your typical neighborhood "Pub and Grill" that does things really well and knows who they are and sticks to what they do best which is pub and grill foods with a full bar and a good variety of beers. Sports minded with TV's all over yet it isn't loud so you can actually sit and talk if you choose to. A smaller place so it does get busy. They did expand and has an additional room that doubles their capacity but that isn't always open. That additional room can be rented as well for banquet. I've been here for an occasional lunch and dinner. Tuesday is build your burger day/night ($5 with certain items additional), and Wednesday is Wing's day/night. I've also had their pizza and it is very good, thinner style and good sauce. They do have outdoor seating during the warmer months which is a plus. Service is always good. Friendly staff, accommodating, and our most recent visit, there was going to be a wait for a table (Tuesday night) and we were greeted immediately, put our name in and we were offered a drink. I didn't have to go to the bar! Little things like that make the entire experience so enjoyable. After we were served, she came by several times to check but wasn't intrusive. In summary, I will be back. Probably not as often as I would like but I love the place. read more

Our server was really nice and not overly attentive which is always awesome. The drink I got, I think called purple rain, was so yummy. It was pretty too. I got the two piece cod fish fry and it was pretty alright, it wasn't anything to write home about but still a good meal. The ranch is yummy on the fries and the Buffalo tots were awesome. The fish was super hot and so were the fries so it was really great to know it didn't sit under a heat lamp forever, I'd definitely go back and give the rest of their food a try. The food tasted wonderful as should your normal Friday fish fry with coleslaw (which was good for me but my fiancé found it to spicy but that's just her), tater tots, mozzarella wontons, served with an old fashioned, clam chowder. We love the people, service is impeccable, welcoming and chill in a fun atmosphere, but it can not make up for the awful food this place has been leveled to! We have frequented here for about 6 yrs now...happy as clams usually, except the food has been rapidly decreasing in flavor and value. Tonight was the. last. time. I've returned 1 plate to a kitchen in my entire life... This was the 2nd time. Ever. Seafood Nachos $13 supposed to be shrimp n scallops with a cheese sauce and pico. What came out... 8-10 shrimp NO Scallop, 1 TBS of queso all at the bottom and maybe 2 TBS of Diced Tomato. You get better free chips n salsa at a Mexican resturant! Like I said food has been downhill/inconsistent the last 3 years? - the decline started pre-COVID - FYI. Burnt expensive pizza on carryout; ok if u dine in tho... Dry tasteless burgers, Seafood Nachos once they were put on the menu (vs a FRI only special) got smaller, less cheese sauce and pico, but today it was 25 chips with some shrimp. Total crap!! Advice: We still have had good luck with the wings, skins, tots and pizza however. Maybe they are cutting back to pay for the renovations? This place was a breathe of fresh air during the entire Covid fiasco. The food was great, the service was excellent. It was one of the few places a person could go and there was very little difference between the old life and the new Current life. My wife and I went regularly and we continue to do so. Great place for food, drinks, and sports! TVs are well placed, probably the best patio in the area. Staff is friendly and personable, and have an unbeatable sense of humor. Wings and pepper jack wontons for apps, fish fry, and BLT steak ceasar wrap are all amazing. The kids love walking over to the ice cream place next door for dessert. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. This is a place with super friendly staff, and a great atmosphere that cannot delivery on quality food. In the past, the food has been very good, but over the last few years...(we're talking pre-covid) the quality and size of the food has diminished, so much so that I'd only go for certain menu items. On this visit I went to have the one last menu item I enjoyed here: carne asada nachos. As the dish came to the table, my ecstatic anticipation quickly turn to horrible horrible disappointment. The cheese drenched, steak mounded, sour cream enveloped nachos on a Sombrero sized plate of the past had transformed into a dusting of chips on a salad sized plate, with a couple teaspoon sized dollops of sour cream, some cheese sauce that barely touched the top layer of chips and a handful of steak cubes for decoration. These are the type of let down nachos that make you go to another place and get real nachos to satisfy your nacho hunger. The last of the tasty menu items was crossed of the list tonight and probably forever. Maybe I'd go back for a couple beverages and appreciate the great service but that's about it. My wife and I have been here about 4 times now... Their Keto pizza and bread sticks are great. We usually go on a Friday night, and they are busy...but we've only had to wait in overflow on one occasion; which was totally fine. I've read some of the reviews here and don't listen to those folks who complain about minor issues like having to wait in line... If the food is good (and it is) it's worth the wait. Called an hour and 1/2 ahead of time to make sure they could accommodate my party of 9. I told them I was just calling around to check if places had room since we were such a large group. They assured me that if I arrived at 7pm they would have a table ready and service would have died down. I arrived at 7pm with my full party and waited patiently for 40min before being seated. We were heckled by other guests as they walked past us to leave. Once we were seated the staff was rude and not very kind. We are a young crowd (20+) but were nothing but respectful while we waited. I've had their pizza four times now, and it's been really inconsistent. I love the thin crust! That being said, the topping are very inconsistent (sometimes there's a ton, and other times they're sporadic and lacking) and the "doneness" is also all over the map. I got a carry out pizza that I didn't open until I got home . . . It was charred. I couldn't believe they put it in the box like that. Then again, the one I got tonight was perfect. I will probably keep going back for pizza sInce it is the only place with thin crust around here, but the bar is a definite no go for me. Great food, good selection of beer and welcoming staff that makes you feel like you want to come back! My husband and I are quite picky about where we eat out so after trying the fish fry and burgers we've decided this sports bar is by far one of our favorites. The one thing that needs changing is the potato puff-cakes that I had with the delicious fish fry. They are not pancakes but tasty puffy things. I didn't mind them but Wisconsinites LOVE their fish fry with potato pancakes. Today I had a huge burger covered in blue cheese, bacon, and Franks. Mmmm! The fries have a great touch of spice that I washed down with a big glass of Moose Drool Cheese curds are delicious and plentiful. Hmmm I'm pretty surprised at all the hype over the great burgers. Mine was dry, overcooked and lacking of any seasoning at all. The fries were just ok, nothing special and I would have preferred them without the coating they had on them. The tater tots were quite good. Came in because we are camping nearby. We came last year as well but our visit wasnt as memorable. Pizza and wings were the main thing we ordered, both of which were excellent. I was particularly impressed with the pizza. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were fresh. The service was also excellent. It was busy when we came in and the staff were really on top of the rush. They did really well balancing take out orders and people waiting for tables. read more
