Oscar's might actually be the best food value in all of Milwaukee. The burgers/chicken tenders/fries we ordered were extremely tasty and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy them. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant itself isn't much to write home about, but it got the job done. Would absolutely come back again for their delicious burgers!

If there is one thing I can say it's Oscar's best burger in MKE! Oscar's is an amazing place on the south side with a fun vibe! They have some of the best staff as they will treat you like family and ensure you have a good experience. This is a place to meetup with friends or watch a game and enjoy either a burger or their wings. We have been frequent flyers over the years and have just enjoyed the consistency that you get knowing you will always get good food and a great time!

The Buffalo chicken wrap and fries.

The service was awesome. Prices were amazing. We had Buffalo chicken wraps but the burgers all looked phenomenal! We had the cheese nuggets too. I would recommend hitting the 4 story antique mall either before or after your visit to Oscar's!

Looking forward from the back room

One of my favorite places for burgers. It's the great alternative to the competition. I can alway trust the meat was ground and formed fresh and made to order. Service was excellent, food came hot, quickly as ordered. And plenty of choices for the most pickiest of customers. Glad to see the quality is still great. The room was comfortable, plenty of tvs. There are 3 areas to sit at. Tables are quickly bussed even when busy. Sadly the patio was closed today. Summer is over make the best of fall y'all. 26/2025

Oscar's Pub & Grill - Milwaukee The burger was juicy, cheesy, and stacked just right on that soft bun = perfection. Fries were crispy, seasoned with parm, and hit different with the dipping sauce. Bonus: loaded nachos on the table = cheesy, filling, and shareable. 4.6/5 - Oscar's is a true MKE staple for burgers & pub vibes, always satisfying and worth the hype. 5 stars for the tastiest burgers EVER. The meat and buns are top notch. A yummy buttery bundle of delishness! Served hot with a smile. Onion rings and fries were good.

My 13 year-old loves cheese curds and while we were in Milwaukee, we found Oscar's after a quick search on Yelp for cheese curds. It was awkward walking in because there was no hostess, no stand, or no sign that said seat yourself. I took the latter which didn't bother me but introverts in your group like my wife might have a hard time with that. I lead my group to the back patio and sat us at a table. We ordered our food and started with Jimmy's Nuggets or cheese curds. They were very tasty and had a batter that reminded me of corn nuggets. I wish we were given more ranch. For my entree, I ordered the Big O. This burger came with bacon, cheese, jalapeños, fried onions, and guacamole on the side. My burger was cooked perfectly with a nice buttered bun. The only aspect of my burger I didn't enjoy was that there was no sauce on this burger. I feel like a Chipotle mayo would have went great with this burger. I tried it was BBQ, sweet habanero, and Chipotle and none caught what I was hoping to taste. The homemade guacamole did help though. My wife had the Aloha that came with a pineapple, ham, avocado, havarti, and teriyaki sauce. If I ever come back to Oscar's, this is the burger I'm ordering. The fries were home cut and were seasoned with garlic parmesan. Oh so savory! Service was pretty good. The value was really good as well as cheese curds, 4 homemade fresh burgers, and a drink was like $53. If you are looking for a homemade burger with home cut fries, try Oscar's!

Was recommended to me by a local I was working with. Told me to get the big O burger. So I did. And it was greasy. lol. So much on it. For sure the messiest lunch I've had in a while. Service was prompt but not super friendly. It was a good bar to hang out at.

Very good burger and fries , very good service , and for the size and quality of the burger, very reasonably priced. A winner !

Came here with a group of friends since we were from out of the area, and can't wait to come back! Old school Mexican burger pub, with a very lively and loud atmosphere. Our waitress came to seat us right away and got our food order and drinks very fast as well. I ordered their famous "Big O" and it did not disappoint. Fries were also fresh (didn't taste like normal fast food fries) . The burgers are quite large , but everything tasted absolutely delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped in for one of these delicious treats..... late supper so why not

For as good the burgers are the last year or two the service has fallen off a cliff. Disgruntled employees.

Do they require reservation for 10? We don't need to pay together or even sit right next to each other, I'm not sure of the seating layout. TIA!

I don't think they take reservations, but it would be polite to give them a heads up of how many people will be in your party, so they can plan accordingly.

I heard Oscar's has Monday tacos? Sounds great! What can I expect?

Tuesdays. Al Pastor or Carne Asada topped with a cilantro and onion mixture. Choice of corn or flour tortillas. Sauces served on the side. $1 per taco.

    Is the veggie burger vegan?

    Yes. It is bean based.

What is on the fries?? I can't tell if it was parmigiana or not but it was delicious!

Yes. That's what it is. Very yummy.

They have indoor and outdoor seating for the season. Great for mini hangouts with friends. I tried their soup of the day , broccoli cheese, and salad that was pretty good. It seems the place was busy and only had one server so it took sometime to receive the entrees, so plan ahead if you're expecting to eat hungry.

Von Trier is an institution -- not the bad kind, like a "mental institution", or an "Ale Asylum" (I…read morelove that name!); the very good kind, as in a cultural and community treasure. I'm old enough to remember the place when it was Rieder's. Already a warm and special place, with a jukebox filled with classical music, it had a groovy mid century modern decor and was a hangout for MSO musicians after concerts. It acquired its lavish, present-day German decor when it was sold to Karl Lotharius. I don't recall how much longer, after that, the jukebox survived, but the astounding decor remains. Alas, there's a reason for my one star (which, I hope and assume, the present owners will notice) . . . and it has to do with a certain scourge -- the maddening omnipresence of which is second only to that of A.I. I refer to TV screens. There have been several ownership changes since Lotharius departed this mortal coil, and I honestly don't know at what point in time it was decided to tarnish the decor with the addition of several TVs. (I was so enraged by the sight of them, when I first entered the front door after a long time away, that I didn't bother to look at the back room; consequently, I have no idea whether the scourge has ruined that room as well.) Clearly, in jumping on the "give the people what they want" bandwagon, the owners (current and/or recent) believe that there's no such thing as too many sports bars (or at least, bars that can be compelled to serve that function at least some of the time). Gosh, I would think that people who are so into SPORTS, when coming upon a bar lacking screens, would have sufficient fitness, energy and motivation to walk a block or two extra, if necessary, to find and enter one of the many other establishments equipped to satisfy their jones for that pathetic fix. But then again, I guess it's that fundamental laziness that makes them mere spectators. There's only one thing worse than a proprietor so lacking in imagination, individuality, courage and self-respect that, when choosing a design for their establishment, they cave to the TV trend. It's a proprietor who ruins an EXISTING treasure by plunking multiple TV screens into the middle of it all. Like turds in a punch bowl. It's great to "get away from it all" for a while, isn't it, for a nice meal, drinks and conversation? The thing is, if I want a TV screen, I can see one at home. (But I don't want to. Not always, anyway. To judge from what TV, movies and commercials show us, every home now has the same standard, ugly, huge plastic rectangle (the TV screen) dominating its designated room(s), out in the open. As for me, I require mine to live inside a closed cabinet. It only comes out when I say that it can.) And, rather than seeing constant reminders that our world has all but become the kind of dystopia in which there's no escaping that intrusive electronic barrage, I could instead just stay at home and watch any of the many sci-fi movies on that theme (a theme that used to be merely a warning. Now, such films more resemble documentaries.) Shame.

The pub itself has a similar vibe to Three Lions. I ADORE the Union Jack painted on the ceiling and red English phone booth. It is reminiscent of a stereotypical "English" pub (and yes, I have been to many - mostly outside of London - in the past 3 years). There was only one employee working at my time of visit, and maybe 10-15 other patrons. I ordered the Ruben rolls, which were great but left in the fryer 2 mins too long. Sadly, they did not have any of the ciders or beers I longed for.... which is understandable these days due to tariffs. I definitely plan on going back to see what the vibe is like during World Cup matches.
