Pretty good bar overall. Went over there after class because I was craving a cherry bomb and one I was served hit the spot and was only $5! There was some arcade machines as well as pool and sports on the TV. The vibe gave the energy of a good place to spend an evening with friends. The bartender was very friendly as well. She greeted me right when I came in and made sure I have everything I needed. Overall, 8/10, I'm not usually a bar guy but this was a nice experience. read more

Probably a 3.5 for me overall. Vintage is a friendly bar close to North Ave, but they seem to attract a more grown up crowd (or at least it was not especially college-y the night we were there). Expect lots of craft beer options along with a full bar. No drinkable wine though (Sutter Home single serve bottles, no thanks!!). Prices are pretty reasonable. No food but you can certainly bring something in from a nearby spot. The bartender and other patrons were friendly and we had a great time playing trivia. I'd come back. read more

When moving to a new place, I like to find a bar that is my go-to spot, and I think Vintage might become that spot for me. Very casual place that allows for fun with friends. I went there this past weekend and had a great time playing darts (pay to play) as well as giant Jenga and pool (free!!!!). The laid back environment made me feel very comfortable hanging out for an hour or two. I am also someone who isn't a huge beer and and I am usually worried that I am going to be stuck drinking a White Claw at a bar as that is usually the fall back seltzer that places carry. I last reviewed this place in 2015. Well, in the past 7 years I have definitely hung out here more frequently. It's a pretty popular bar with a lot of ebb and flow (Collectivo next door having live music keeps things lively). That bar staff is friendly and amazing and fun to talk to. They have giant Jenga, they do bar trivia on Sundays (no entry fee), there's a pool table, and most importantly in the women's restroom there is a painting of Godzilla. Doesn't get much better than that. read more

My favorite bar on the east side. It's a classic neighborhood bar with lots of regulars but always welcoming to everyone. They usually have a good selection of rotating craft beers and decent specials. They have a pool table that is free to use. Dogs are allowed. You can bring in your own food or have something ordered to the bar. They also host a lot of events including trivia and poker nights and other random events. read more

I'm surprised it took me this long to review Vintage. Living super close, this is our go-to bar that's in walking distance. What can I say really, it's a cool little corner bar with decent people and a jukebox (not the old timey kind). They have trivia I think 2 nights a week, ditched the karaoke, and have a pool table/darts. They have a little lounge area with a couch and have live music regularly. During special events they will sometimes have food provided which is pretty awesome. Drinks are reasonably priced. I'm not enough of a regular there to know everyone who works there currently but Becky and Craig are nice people. I highly recommend stopping in for a drink and to chill. read more

Boozing it up on a Tuesday evening and rambling through Happy Hours around the East side of town we decided to stop in Vintage. This place is perfect. I'm actually surprised we haven't been before. I haven't been here since it has changed names/owners and overall had a good experience here. The bar staff was really nice providing lots of bar snacks. This place has a good selection of beer - was quite surprised by this (don't know why but I am.) I went here to see a friend's band play. They had bar height tables set up and the bar area was blocked off to watch the band, which made for great views and good service. They have a pool table when you walk in and a nice long bar. I would check out this place again especially if the band plays there again. read more

I've been to Vintage a few times. I really like the big windows that let a light into the establishment. The staff is friendly and attentive, even during high traffic times. They have a suprisingly large beer selection and awesome beers on tap. I've visited Vintage the past two years during the Shamrock Shuffle and they host a wonderful hot dog stand :D Overall, very casual and chill. Even though it is a stone throw away from the ever popular North Ave bars, it is a nice place to escape from those crazy college kids and relax. read more

I wanna like this place so bad but something is just kind of off. Ive never had a bad experience with any aspect of this bar, but it never is on my list of places to go. Service is great. I enjoy all of the bartenders. They have an okay beer selection, though I mainly just get the PBR tallboys, since I think they're probably the best deal. On the entertainment side of things, its not too shabby either. The ambiance is inviting. They have a bunch of flat screen TVs at the bar. They don't have karaoke anymore, but are trying to implement live music on Tuesdays (if you are a performer, hit them up! They treat bands very well but make sure you have your own PA). And last but certainly not least: FREE POOL. There's only one table, but grab a drink and hang round and its certain to vacate sometime soon. Its strange that I have such nice things to say about this place but I don't really like going here. The best reasoning I have for this is that Vintage doesn't have its niche. Yield has loud music, Landmark has pool and darts, Von Trier has a fantastic beer selection, Two Bucks is two bucks (and those are really the only North bars I'll go to). Vintage is nice but they don't have a "thing" that I associate with them I hope they find it soon, because I do really like these folks. read more

I asked the bartenders to get video footage so I could prove the individual sitting behind me stole my phone. They said they would get me the footage this weekend and now they are ghosting all my phone calls inquiring for the footage. This is a great neighborhood bar conveniently located on the East Side. You can tell from walking in that mostly locals or regulars go here, but there are such awesome specials that really everyone should! The place is unassuming from the outside, but they do set up about 4 sidewalk tables for the summer months to sit and drink at. It makes for good people watching since you are right on the corner of Prospect and Kenilworth (lots of foot traffic)! The happy hour is really the best thing about this place (besides friendly service and fun trivia nights) because they do 1/2 of all tap beers until 7 pm. This is later than what most of the happy hours on the East Side last until. Today, I paid $2 for my Riverwest Stein pint. They have tons of local beers on tap though (Lakefront, Ale Asylum, etc). You should note though that they require a $10 minimum on credit cards!! Therefore, if you are planning on only getting one happy hour drink, bring cash! read more

This bar is perfect to have a chill night out with friends. A few Fridays ago we stopped here mainly because my friends low to play pool. The house drink menu was delicious and the couple drinks I had were decently priced. My friends were all happy because the pool table is free! Don't find that too often. Also we had a nice surprise of a live band later in the evening which made for a fun ambiance in the bar. Stopped in to meet up with some of Milwaukee's Best trivia players. The bar is on the corner so there was plenty of cool breezes. The crowd was mixed 20's to 40's. Competition was good plenty of tie scores at the half. Bar staff were quick to check glasses for refills. I'm glad I came early, the bar had beers half priced and pizzas from Toppers. I can only give it 3 stars because I feel like Vox was much better as far as atmosphere goes. It was comfortably dark, had many short 4-tops to sit at, and made me feel good with the booze things. But this review is for VINTAGE. So, let's do this. Staff was excellent. Friendly and attentive are the best qualities you can hope for in a bartender. These guys nailed it. I didn't notice what the beer selection was like. I would assume standard North Ave area fare. Cocktails are well made. Atmosphere, I feel, needs something. It's bordering on slightly uncomfortably well-lit maybe. The short tables have been replaced with tall tables, which are less conducive to cozy convos, if you ask me (and you did, cuz you're reading this). Then there's that wall? with the screen on it? but nothing happening? and like, a couple couches sitting under it? AWKWARD. Maybe sometimes that screen has a thing on it. I don't know. It just feels weird to have it hanging there all the time, but nothing playing. To sum things up, I am okay with Vintage. Just not overjoyed. read more

Something about a confused, drunk bartender digging through a stack of credit cards and almost handing back the wrong one just does not sit well with me. I prefer bars where they respect whiskey drinkers. I ordered a good whiskey, carefully phrasing that I wanted only a single pour without any ice in a proper whiskey glass. The Chief of Staff, who had already had a couple, blurted out "neat!" and when I glared at her, the bartender said, "don't worry, I know what he wants." So, I got a generous pour in a real whiskey rocks glass, without the sneaky hidden ice/no-ice up-charge. Obviously the bartender wanted repeat business from me, and that's what he's going to get. This is the perfect place if you want to share a drink with friends and have a conversation, on a Saturday afternoon, and then again on a Sunday night, this place isn't crowded, not offensively loud, not an idiot drunk in sight. For all of these reasons, it's quite qualitatively different than all the other bars in the vicinity. We like to stop here before or after a show at the Oriental. read more

Stopped here last night for the first time to see what it was like. I didn't mind the place when it was Vox, but never ventured down there too often. The inside is very nice; muted colors and dimly lit with a somewhat clean and modern look to the area behind the bar. It has mirrors and the bottles are well displayed. They have a nice pool table with the woven leather pockets and I'm pretty sure it was free to play (although the same 4 dudes were on it the whole night and I didn't get a chance to join) *sad face* No biggie though, as I was with a couple friends. I will mention that their cocktail menu, while creative and different, almost borders on being a dare. Their version of the summer shandy is Pabst and Sierra Mist. They also have a drink that is vodka and Diet Dr. Pepper. The rest are some standard items like the Moscow Mule. The music wasn't too loud and the selection of songs they played was pretty decent. I do have to mention our bartender who I believe was named Brian. He was truly a professional. Very courteous and appreciative of our coming in. He seemed to care a lot about the level of service. I spent the beginning of my st pats day here as i finished some laundry across the street. although i frequent yield which is right next door this was my first stab at vintage (closer to the laundry place)... i have to say that i was pretty pleased with my experience... they had $2 green pbr for the occasion, id pretty much drink anything for $2 but i was glad it was the peeb. theyve got pool, which is free, which is why i'll probably head there every time i do my laundry from now on... the bar tenders were cool, and nobody seemed to be behaving like idiots, so id say the trip was a success... read more
