When you drink you can take your mask down but SHALL IMMEDIATELY PUT YOUR MASK BACK ON! While enjoying a beer, a bar patron took it upon herself to be the bar room Health Czar. From the top of her barstool throne she demanded all MUST WEAR MASKS because she is a covid tester. This woman started a shouting match with another bar patron because he refused to fall to a knee and give in to her demands. Her reign of terror didn't stop there. Unfortunately, she moved elsewhere in the bar which gave her a direct line of sight to the table I was seated at with two of my friends. We were located far away from anyone else in the room. The Czar saw we didn't conform to her demands and started back on her tantrum. At that point, the bar tender came over to our table and vulgarly demanded we put our masks on as she could lose her license. I grab my coat and got the F out of there. Embarrassing. Ridiculous. This bar can be easy to miss if you are looking for it, but please, keep looking - it's the building with the chalkboard out front and the facade painted in dark grey/black. Excellent beer selection on both taps and in bottles. Always good company behind the bar and sitting at the bar with you. Baskets of peanuts sometimes offered and several tvs to watch if that's what you are there for. Happy hour is great, as others have mentioned, but their normal beer prices are very hard to beat! The Stone is a cozy neighborhood dive bar with a GREAT tap list! It doesn't look like much from the outside... or the inside for that matter, but their craft beer list is fairly extensive with a good selection from all over. What I loved most about the Stone (besides the beer selection) is the sense of community while drinking here. Extremely friendly bar tenders and other patrons make you feel comfortable and welcome. The Stone also has some fun Sunday specials where you could win 1/2 off or the full price of your beer. This bar is honestly great - maybe a little pricey but that's just Bay View for you. I'm new to the hood and was happy to live so close to this dive, and I went in there tonight only to see them broadcasting an alt-right tv station in the crowded bar. I did not feel welcome seeing Newsmax on their tv and I don't think I'm going to come back as a result. Would prefer to spend my dollars and make friends elsewhere. I don't fund fascists. read more

So, I am from Nashville and miss my local dive bars with loud music and fun as everything people. I travel everywhere and am constantly comparing, and y'all....this is it. THIS IS IT. Walked here and stepped inside while people where outside smoking and chilling. No bad looks, just good vibes which continued inside. Loud music of all genres playing and plenty of seating. Bar and tables in the front and darts in the back. People were playing dice at the bar, something new to me, but I love it and really nice people taught me the rules. It is a WI thing, and I love it. To be played! Beers were cold and we had a couple shots. Bartenders were cool and totally chill (2 girls) who made whatever we wanted of course. Great tap list! Prices were reasonable and I was nothing but happy paying the bill. You can dance, you can drink, you can have a throw down good time and you only get positive vibes from this place. The Stone has become my go-to bar for Packer games, and for good reason. It's a great neighborhood bar where you don't need a bunch of $$ to enjoy some super beers. Pull-tabs on Sundays for discount drinks make the games even more fun, plus they do touchdown shots and set out a buffet at halftime. They have 15 beers/ciders on draft that rotate weekly/whenever the keg gets kicked. The turnover is *fast* so you're always getting nice fresh craft brews. They also have an extensive selection of bottled beers. They do a stellar 2-for-1 happy hour, so you can treat yo' self to 2 fine brews for a mere $5! Dog friendly as well, so stop in for a pint when you take the hounds for a stroll. read more

He took the time to introduce himself and shake our hands after we started going there regularly. A terrific, low-key alternate to the hustle and bustle of KK and Lincoln! It ain't much to look at, and it doesn't pretend it should be. But this is a great little bar that keeps a low-key atmosphere into the wee hours of the weekend. You can actually hear the person next to you at normal speaking volumes! Whoduthunk it? It's got a great selection of tap beers that (in my opinion) respects the boundaries between "Variety" and "Confusion". The prices are also more than fair. We bought some beers that would have cost $2-$3 more a block away. And... AND... wait for it.......... they've got 2 bristle boards in the back with honest-to-god chalk scoring boards!! I know I'm probably in the minority here, but bristle dart boards just gives me all sorts of coziness inside! Looks like I'll have to dust off my darts and loosen up the old throwing arm. What else? Because it's off the beaten path, parking isn't so much an issue. The bartenders I encountered were friendly and helpful. And it's really nice to have bartenders that actually know what the libations taste like, AND can qualify you on what you may or may not enjoy. It provides for a much better experience! I like the Stone. It's chill and welcoming and a solid, dive-ish spot. This Bay View "dive" (a term relative given the reader) boasts solid specials and pretty rad offerings given the fact that it's unassuming from the outside. Tons of great specials and apparently this is a pretty great/fun place to watch Packer games too! (I always stick close to home so I haven't been for football, but who knows? Maybe home will become Bay View soon enough... ) Play your own jams on the internet juke and get yr bar game(s) on + on as well! Making my way through the throng of candy seeking miscreants, I find myself at a crossroads. A crossroads known as "Smith and Howell". The faint glow of neon beckoned me forth. What fresh hell is this? A Public House I have not yet discovered in my travels? Venturing into the unknown, steeled by the prospect of football and peanuts, I inspected the carvings on the wall. Adult beverages, all of them unknown to this traveller. With a cry that would rival that of Mephistopheles I exclaimed "BRING FORTH THE ZOMBIE MONKEY!" This is my new "go-to" bar for Happy Hour: Monday - Friday 2-4-1 taps from 4p-9!!!! There are 12 microbrew/craft beers on tap that are indicated by the crowded tap handles at the end of the bar, as well as having the brewery and beer name and design etched with colorful chalk hanging from boards above the entrance to the back room. There are high top tables placed throughout the spacious pub and approximately 15 stools at the bar where I have yet to sit (a rarity for me to like sitting at the tables versus at the bar). I went here for the first time with my Wednesday night traveling suds club buddies and prompltly returned two days later on a Friday and brought along three friends. Shawn, the owner, recognized me and took the time and interest to get my name, introduce himself, and thank me coming back!!!! During the visit on Friday night there was a screen pulled down in the front of the bar and the owner was projecting the Brewers game, with the sound! There was also NHL hockey on a couple of the tvs above the bar. I could watch games there all of the time but it doesn't have that douche-baggy sports' bar feel. A small neighborhood hipster bar for no one under the age of 24 years of age. I caught a game there and this place does have an excellent craft beer selection and just a better than your average corner neighborhood bar. A very urban area this bar is away from the other countless bars in the area and most likely has the same group of regulars coming and going. I have to be honest in this review. This bar is great for a once in a blue moon visit. I recently moved to the neighborhood and was interested in finding a home bar to watch sporting events, getting a drink with friends, and an after work escape. I was horribly wrong picking the stone as that bar. Two of the four bartenders (which happen to be the male bartenders) are insanely rude. This isn't a review after one bad incident but by many. If you are unfortunate enough to have the bartender who doesnt talk, smile, or work that plays slipnots pandora station all night you will know my frustration. This has been validated by friends and co-workers who experience it and always end up asking me if I've done something to upset them. The answer is no. Even the owner is....how do you put it...a dick. I go out often, in good company that spend a lot of money doing so. People who respect my opinion and will gladly take that money to better bayview bars. The stone had potential but treating your most loyal customers like dirt will surely get you no where fast. read more

Now called The Stone, this little neighborhood bar is a great place to hang out. Excellent beer tap and bottle selection, friendly staff, good jukebox, trivia, darts and Wii bowling. Most important to me, they carry the NHL Center Ice package. In a town where it's hard to find anywhere to watch your favorite hockey team, this is the place to be. No food, but peanuts in the shell in baskets on the bar. It's a little hard to spot, look for the neon beer signs, south of the gas station and north of St. Augustine's church. read more
