This place is so, so very loud. The noise actually stressed me out. It's nearly impossible to have a conversation inside. Service was meh - a combination of indifference and boredom it seemed. My avocado toast was below average and everything took forever to come out. So many competitors are near and better and more affordable. I won't try this one again.

I love this history. Originally it was a favorite of mine, Alterra Coffee. 03/20/23

Colectivo Coffee originally was Alterra Coffee. I drink it almost daily under that brand name. I love the decaf and the French Roast the best. The three men that started the business really fulfilled their mission. They moved into opening coffee shops and selling delicious baked goods. I'm sorry to say that they were not around the last time I drove through Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You can be sure I will stop in to one of their many locations when I pass through. I think this neighborhood in Riverwest is where it all started. I'm recommending you stop by.

Colectivo on Humboldt is open for curbside coffee, and I'm happy about it! There's nothing I miss more than spending a morning in a coffee shop with a book or my laptop, but hey I'll take what I can get! I've always enjoyed Colectivo's food + drinks and was excited for them that they've reopened. My husband and I took a walk to this location and figured we would give them a call before arriving to place our order, as that's how many places are doing it. However, once we approached the building we realized the now have a curbside window set up - how perfect and innovative. They have quite the large patio/sidewalk area surrounding it, which is nice because there were quite a few people who had the same idea as us, so everyone could spread out and keep their safe difference. We ordered at the pick-up window that was covered partially with a plastic screen. The employee behind had a mask and gloves as well. It wasn't long before our iced lattes were ready at the pickup window. There's something about Colectivo's coffee that is just different. Its creamy-goodness honestly made my day! Looking forward to the day I can come back and spend some time here, but until then, I'm so excited for this business to be making small steps.

I'm a Starbucks girlie, but when there's a Collectivo near, you best bet I'm heading there over Starbies! Amazing coffee. Love their almond croissant when I'm craving a sweet treat for breakfast!

Cute coffee shop, where you can see the roasterie inside. Recommend the horchata cold brew and the Chia bowl. Reasonably priced. Friendly service and the pastries look amazing. A lot of outdoor patio seating and cool relaxing atmosphere. Check out their mini store too for merch.

You like coffee, this is the place. You like more coffee more ways, this is your place. You want more coffee, more times and just more everything, again this is your place. Colectivo, affectionately known as Colectera by friend and fellow Yelper RFelly, is still as solid as ever. I should of took a pic of the sign by the patio because you can still see the old name underneath the new. It eerily reminds me of out with the old (name) and in with the new. In all seriousness though the setup for all things coffee roasting is right here in good ol' Riverwest and they reside in another one of their many hip and unique properties. Sure it's a little pricey to go gourmet but I'd rather come here and get the goods then hit up a Starbucks! Think local! Duh! Also they have a lot of great and specialized bites to eat from sweet to savory which makes for an awesome experience for your tummy all around. Free Wi-Fi and a great patio equals perfection. Long live Colectivo! Just wish they opened up a bit earlier...

Colectivo on HumBoldt saved me from this crazy Midwest winter! I'm from California so it was really started sinking into my bones. My Airbnb host recommended the place to me and I'm so glad I checked it out! Let's start with the avocado toast. Super good! Loved the chimichurri sauce they used to top it! Adds some nice zest to tie the tomato and avocado together. The toast normally comes with an egg but I opted out of it because I'm an abnormal human and don't like eggs. But I was super impressed that the person helping me out at the cash register noticed that I asked for no egg and when I got my latte they double checked to see if I was ok with regular milk! Which I totally was but that's super observant! I may have been vegan! And it was only $6.50! That price would start a riot in LA. Now the latte, it was pretty good. Nothing to really write home about but I did order a large and I always feel that with espresso drinks the larger the drink the harder it is to really do something special with it. The atmosphere of the place is really nice! Tons of seating and brick walls with huge windows! Plus you can see into the roastery and all that's going on in there. Oh and the soundtRack they had going today gave me life. It literally resurrected me from my frozen grave and gave me the strength to write this. Some coffee shops are just and endless loop of Coldplay and other repeatedly gentle music that just drives me crazy! But not here. No sir, not at the Colectivo. So check it out if you are here!

Bacon Potato Burrito with extra salsa to remind me that life is meant to be enjoyed!

I didn't take any photos inside this time but their patio is quite amazing. If you go in the weekends before noon, be prepared to wait awhile. There's just no getting around that unfortunately. Parking is limited in their lot, but there's an additional free public parking lot across the street with plenty of availability. It's a treat on its own I'm reminded because it dosnt really pair to well with anything on the menu with my personal experience. Today I do try the lemon lavender cookie. The cookie seemed to be a sugar cookie but the frosting on the inside is where there was the blend of lemon and lavender. It was such a pretty color and honestly a perfect consistency, almost like a firmer buttercream. The staff was different, but maybe I just haven't come on a weekend in the longest time. I snagged a parking spot on a Sunday which seems like a score. Nice atmosphere, kid friendly. For me it's my favorite location, but when it's warm out and you can be outside that's when it'll have to be 6/5 stars :)

There wasn't anyone else in the place when I arrived, so it was very quiet. Got greeted by the friendly cashier/barista. I wanted to get a London Fog Tea Latte, but they were out of Earl Grey, so I ordered a Chai Latte instead. They didn't have a scone, but the cinnamon roll with icing looked pretty good too. Offered to warm it up, and I said definitely yes. It took a few minutes for the drink to be ready, which means they let the tea steep properly. When it got delivered to my table, I was pleasantly surprised by the latte art in the foam. I have never had a barista give me that special treatment and was thankful. The cinnamon roll was warm, gooey, and delicious. Definitely a place that I would return to.

I love sandwiches and knew I had to try the pastrami. It was fantastic. I've been trying to cut back on caffeine and I instead went with one of their refreshers on the menu. It was I believe and 'Blue and Grapefruit' - and that wasn't my favorite as someone who doesn't really care for grapefruit that much. I got it thinking it would be diluted a bit, SO, if you like grapefruit, I'm sure it's perfect for you. I also got a peanut butter oreo pie and wish I took a picture of it...but I devoured it too quick to even think about it. For me, that dessert was the definite highlight of the cafe. I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte, with a little lavender and a little vanilla, in a mug. The barista did a nice job and gave the tea a good long steep. It had excellent flavor, and the temperature was right (about 140°F). It would have been even better with a bit more foam on top. For bakery items, they had a big pile of large cookies (cowboy?), but not much else. The food menu is a little sparse but has some good options for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. I ordered a Cubano sandwich, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It came out hot, with nicely grilled bread and savory meats inside. The roasted pork was especially tender and flavorful. It came with a small container of slaw, which was a little uninspiring. Service: The person who took my order and made my drink did a nice job. She took her time and did a good job with the drink. I appreciated that they delivered both the drink and the food to the table. She was a bit soft-spoken and a little hard to hear with the music playing. Efficient, but not especially outgoing. Atmosphere: The space has a bit of an industrial minimalist feel. High ceilings with the mechanicals in plain sight, along with colorful paint and design elements. Seating can accommodate groups of different sizes, though there aren't too many spots ideal for couples. The space can be a bit echoey, and the volume of the music could make conversation challenging at times. It's a nice spot for groups to hang out, and there was a larger table where people were working and collaborating. A decent spot for hanging out at lunch or later in the afternoon.

I can't say that I've really spent any time at a Colectivo since the one at Bayshore closed, so this was a nice opportunity to reacquaint myself with their offerings and I came away impressed for the most part. For coffee, I went with the Peppermint Fluff Latte, and I must say it was an excellent choice on my part. They didn't skip on the mint and it really felt like a perfect drink for a cold day with Christmas just around the corner. Foodwise, I selected a cowgirl cookie (a bit too overcooked for my tastes, though the half of the salted choco cookie my husband ordered was quite good and I would recommend that one) and the Bacon Egg and Cheese Croissant. The croissant was a bit more squat than I was expecting, but it lent itself to the sandwich well and while a bit miserly on the cheese, it was overall a very good sandwich.
