If you are looking for specialty coffee drinks / creative coffee drinks / coffee cocktails in Milwaukee, this is the place. Their menu is fun. I haven't had their SOUS VIDE (brewed coffee using extended, midtemp extraction) or traditional espresso based drinks so far, as I have been more interested in exploring their crafted drinks. The crafted drinks are more expensive than normal coffee drinks. I like most of them, as some of them taste too sweet / milky & creamy to me (and if you are a pour-over / cold brew type of coffee drinker, these may not be the right ones for you). What I really like about this place is the diversity and open, experimental mindset in coffee they've brought and shown to the city.

    Cute barista area!

An incredibly unique coffee experience unlike any other I've had in Milwaukee and beyond! I was a little intimidated by the menu, but the barista asked me some of my flavor preferences, and recommended a beverage for me. Highly recommend this approach! Motorhead was smooth, dynamic and balanced. Not overly sweet which so many craft espresso beverages can be. Each beverage is created and crafted carefully, and the attention to detail was outstanding, I enjoyed watching them make every beverage! Definitely a bit of a spurgle in terms of pricing, but these can't be compared to a standard latte, cappuccino, etc! Can't wait to try other items on their menu! A great addition to Crossroads Collective.

"What Winter Forgot" for coffee and "Crenn: Caramel Apple Bomb" on the spoon!

I'm far from a coffee connoisseur, but Discourse... they are! For such a small vendor space, they have a lot of big ideas that are full of flavor and innovation. I don't think I've ever tried something quite like the "Crenn" it's a bite-sized cocoa butter ball with apple cider inside and dulce de leche drizzled on the outside with a candied pecan on the top. As they told me, take it in one bite and keep your mouth closed while you chew... or expect a mess. Haha. I wonder how many times they witnessed the "mess" before they had to give people the heads up! Then the coffee... it was essentially like drinking chocolate with a caffeine boost. They have an orange skin sitting on top for the aroma as you sip. They really put a lot of thought into this experience (and other drinks - I saw one inspired by Giannis that was green (matcha), I need to go back to try "The Greek Freak". ...I need to go back and try several things, actually!

This is the best thing ever to come to Milwaukee. I tried 2 drinks and the Cren (I was intimidated by this at first, but it was excellent) and all of it was phenomenal. The presentation of each handcrafted drink blew me away and I wanted to order every single drink off the menu just to see how it would come out and taste it. You read the descriptions of the drinks and you scratch your head thinking how do these flavors come together, but they do! They must also use the finest ingredients because I didn't get the normal icky feeling I get after drinking a sweet coffee drink. I highly suggest stopping here for a unique coffee experience. I love that their menu gets updated seasonally, which means I will have to make sure to come back frequently. The baristas were all very friendly and informative and made me feel welcomed.

    Pirate lyfe and Parisian

Hidden gem located inside Crossroads Collective! They specialize in a variety of elevated, specialty craft coffee and matcha drinks. Highly recommend visiting if you're sick of your plain, old latte. What we got: - Parisian: This was a delicious matcha with notes of blueberry and mango and a soft floral aftertaste! We loved the fruity twist that was given to this matcha latte; surprisingly, the fruitiness balanced out the earthiness of the matcha and wasn't overwhelming. - Pirate Lyfe: Such a rich and sophisticated espresso drink. The hints of rum bitters and allspice added a layer of complexity, and was mellowed out by the banana caramel notes. No liquor was used in this drink. Both drinks were well balanced and such a delight for our taste buds. Love the creativity and experimentation that went into the making of these drinks! Gonna have to definitely be back to try more from their speciality drinks menu.

I'm pretty excited to have another delicious coffee shop in the neighborhood. Discourse has impressive pour over offerings and their specialty drinks are truly unique! I sampled two drinks and both were so tasty! I look forward to grabbing coffee here regularly. They're in the perfect spot to grab food, snacks and stroll around some of the best spots in Milwaukee. Check them out, you will not regret it.

This was by far the most creatively thought out latte/coffee experience I've ever had. The staff was so friendly and explained the speciality drinks to us which we appreciated. We tried the moonwater and motörhead. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying the motörhead! I can't even explain the taste but the flavor had my taste buds going bananas lol 10/10 spot!

Visited this cafe a few weeks ago when I was in Milwaukee. First time trying it and can't wait to visit again! it was perfect, definitely need on in the Chicago Area. I tried the Iced Chaant, which was delicious. Worth every penny

Discourse was a very unique coffee shop. The baristas were super friendly and helpful. I tried the matcha which was sweet and not bitter at all. Personally I like my matcha a little bitter but this was still great and for those who don't love the bitterness of matcha would love this drink. My boyfriend got the coffee with chai and it was delicious! I don't like chai but I actually really enjoyed that drink. The baristas took their time to make these complex drinks and put a lot of detail into making their drinks. The signature drinks range from $6-$7. It is a little pricey but a cool experience!

Ahhhh! Discourse is such an amazing concept, not your REGULAR coffee bar. The staff are very skilled mixologist creating and crafting amazing drinks. If you are in Milwaukee give them a go! A coffee experience like no other. Try the Motörhead and moonwater lattes...thank me latter.

Best experience ever! Loved the coffee and the staff, who was incredibly friendly and gave us great recommendations around the area. Both drinks were outstanding.

Stopped in for an early morning coffee and was delighted with the service and taste of my vanilla latte! My friend ordered the Pirate Life. It was a tastefully crafted specialty coffee if you like banana and rum flavor I would recommend trying it!

I didn't take any photos inside this time but their patio is quite amazing. If you go in the weekends before noon, be prepared to wait awhile. There's just no getting around that unfortunately. Being right off Lincoln Memorial Drive and the Oak Leaf Trail, it's an amazing spot whether you drive, bike, or walk from wherever you're coming from. Parking is limited in their lot, but there's an additional free public parking lot across the street with plenty of availability. For non-coffee drinkers, there's a lot of great menu options for alternatives, as well as some solid food options.

It's a treat on its own I'm reminded because it dosnt really pair to well with anything on the menu with my personal experience. Today I do try the lemon lavender cookie. The cookie seemed to be a sugar cookie but the frosting on the inside is where there was the blend of lemon and lavender. It was such a pretty color and honestly a perfect consistency, almost like a firmer buttercream. The staff was different, but maybe I just haven't come on a weekend in the longest time. I snagged a parking spot on a Sunday which seems like a score. Nice atmosphere, kid friendly. For me it's my favorite location, but when it's warm out and you can be outside that's when it'll have to be 6/5 stars :)

I love sandwiches and knew I had to try the pastrami. It was fantastic. I've been trying to cut back on caffeine and I instead went with one of their refreshers on the menu. It was I believe and 'Blue and Grapefruit' - and that wasn't my favorite as someone who doesn't really care for grapefruit that much. I got it thinking it would be diluted a bit, SO, if you like grapefruit, I'm sure it's perfect for you. I also got a peanut butter oreo pie and wish I took a picture of it...but I devoured it too quick to even think about it. For me, that dessert was the definite highlight of the cafe. I'll definitely come back on more weekends when I have a craving for pastrami.

First time here. It was a cold morning, so I stopped in for a hot beverage and something to eat…read more Food: For not being a coffee shop, they have an extensive menu of hot and cold beverages. I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte, with a little lavender and a little vanilla, in a mug. The barista did a nice job and gave the tea a good long steep. It had excellent flavor, and the temperature was right (about 140°F). It would have been even better with a bit more foam on top. For bakery items, they had a big pile of large cookies (cowboy?), but not much else. The food menu is a little sparse but has some good options for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. I ordered a Cubano sandwich, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It came out hot, with nicely grilled bread and savory meats inside. The roasted pork was especially tender and flavorful. It came with a small container of slaw, which was a little uninspiring. Service: The person who took my order and made my drink did a nice job. She took her time and did a good job with the drink. I appreciated that they delivered both the drink and the food to the table. She was a bit soft-spoken and a little hard to hear with the music playing. Efficient, but not especially outgoing. Atmosphere: The space has a bit of an industrial minimalist feel. High ceilings with the mechanicals in plain sight, along with colorful paint and design elements. Seating can accommodate groups of different sizes, though there aren't too many spots ideal for couples. The space can be a bit echoey, and the volume of the music could make conversation challenging at times. It's a nice spot for groups to hang out, and there was a larger table where people were working and collaborating. A decent spot for hanging out at lunch or later in the afternoon.
