Had a great time at the Crocodile Lounge and venue! The lounge was pre-concert. Opens 1 hour before doors (with concert ticket). Bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and had great pours! Good selection of beers and liquor. Even grabbed some Animal Fries on a whim. Not bad for bar food. This was a mixed age show so if you wanted to see the show with a beer, they had a separate convenient entrance. The sound quality was excellent as well. We came to see a band (The Record Company) we really enjoyed, but unfortunately the overall experience means we won't be coming back. The drink prices were shockingly high -- $16 for a small beer and $23 for a basic gin and soda. For a group of four, it added up fast and felt completely out of line with what you'd expect, even for Seattle. Honestly, it felt more expensive than drinks at Seahawks games, which says a lot. On top of that, the staff interaction didn't help. I asked a simple question about the move to the new location and was met with a very unfriendly, unwelcoming response. Overall, I enjoyed my night at The Crocodile. The security felt safe, there was a coat check and a lot of room to dance which is necessary. We didn't end up getting drinks there since we did at dinner, but there was a bar in the back wall of the venue - what I did like was that inside the bar room they played the show we came to see as a rave. The only things that could make the experience more enjoyable would be if the projector for shows could be closer like one next to the DJ, as well as the lasers kept pointing in my eyes, I was wearing sunglasses and still had to look down or close my eyes most of the time. One man in particular (I didn't catch his name) was on a bad power trip and seemed like he was trying to pick a fight with me and my disabled friend. In case management sees this review, the jerk in question was working the front door for the Bit Brigade show on 4/5/26 and was maybe 5'8", glasses and a beard. I think he had longish brown hair that was pulled back under a gray hat. Dude was totally inappropriate and, as the introduction for customer service for the whole venue, paints the whole venue in a bad light. read more

Came here for Grindhaus and while it was a drag event after a concert so doors were at 10pm it was cool that the venue was able to host two events in one night and have bar service merch security and everything run smoothly. The venue was great I don't have complaints, the bartenders were quick to get drinks out the space was nice the security was fast the ticketing was easy the merch area and easy to find it was a solid venue. I like the cocktail menu and the amount of options they have for service. read more

Saw Wax Tailor on a Thursday. Check-in and security were quick and easy. We grabbed drinks without much of a wait, and the venue was comfortable, not too hot or cold. Loud as in hard to hear the singing/rapping and at times wishing I had brought ear plugs. Security check-in was simple and quick. If you're a music fan and in Seattle, you have to see a show at the Croc. This isn't the original location, but the history carries over with this new location. We came here for a comedy show on a Sunday night. There are three separate venues here, and we were in the Crocodile itself. There was a line around the corner and everyone was going through security. I thought the whole process was very efficient. Someone came by to scan your tickets, and then the instructions for the metal detector were clear. Once inside, I thought the size of the place was perfect, not too big, and not too small. There is not a bad seat in the house, however, if you get a seat. This was a general admission show, but I assumed everyone got a seat. Turns out this wasn't the case and there were quite a few people who had to stand. The bar area in the back never had a long line and there was a water jug on the side that was self serve, using those cone cups you get at the dentist's office. A few more chairs and this would have been a higher star rating. read more

RACIST/ABUSIVE/DISGUSTING Security and Staff!!! I am never attending the crocodile ever again. This was my first and now my last time ever going to this venue. I HIGHLY recommend steering clear of the crocodile. Even if ur favorite artist is performing here you are better off saving your money and never experiencing the abuse from its staff from the security and management even to the bartenders!! And good luck ever getting any type of refund no matter how bad the experience it was. They do not care about their patrons one bit. My friend was treated so disgustingly when trying to get in for emo night. While in queue to enter the venue they single out my friend from the four of us and demand she empty her pockets. And let me add that she's the only black woman in line with us at the time. I understand that venues check folks for safety but the demeanor, the tone, and the body language from three angry men was off putting and scary to us. She is a TYPE ONE DIABETIC so she pulls a caprisun juice pouch out of her pocket because SHE NEEDS SUGAR IN CASE SHE WERE TO HAVE A HYPOGLYCEMIC EMERGENCY. They then physically grab her caprisun out of her hand and aggressively throw it in the trash while she's in the middle of trying to tell them she needs that for her diabetes. Don't even allow any time for any sort explanation. She has to then pull it out of the trash and inform them she needs sugar in case of an emergency. Then they call extra back up security to full body scan her. So three men are looking down at her, a black woman, while she cries because they are not listening to her and embarrassing her, while full body scanning her.... Super disgusting sexist power trip moment. Then while we're walking in, we tell them that wasn't okay and they condescendingly say something along the lines of "I don't see at all what's wrong with checking that people don't have knives or other items on them", literally refusing to acknowledge that anything they did was not only widely inappropriate, incompassionate, but was also traumatizing to her about her own medical disability. Every person in security here needs to be retrained and taught de-escalation, trauma informed care, and the American disability act. From reading other reviews this seems to be a theme here and I really wish I had been warned about this before hand. Do not go here, especially if you are a woman. I will be filing a complaint with the department of justice for this venue to be investigating for violating Title III of the ADA act (attempting to not allow accommodations needed for disability). read more

One of the most insulting moments of the night came when Trent -- a security guard clearly on a power trip -- told us to "drink water because we weren't sober." We were a group of grown, responsible women simply enjoying our evening. His comment was not only presumptuous, but deeply disrespectful and patronizing. After that interaction, none of us felt comfortable ordering drinks. It felt less like concern and more like a thinly veiled excuse to humiliate us. We weren't causing trouble -- we were targeted. I was able to experience the Croc on a whole new level recently. Although my brother and i grew up going to shows at the original location, I had the pleasure of working with the staff at the Croc to put on a private memorial event in the new space a few weeks ago. It was awesome. From the moment of first contact I knew this was the venue for us. I was looking into other iconic Seattle music venues to host my event, but ended up choosing the Croc because of the great initial communication with the event coordinator. They had an option for anything we wanted. The day of the event was so great. Val, and the staff were so so so wonderful. They literally took so much pressure off my shoulders and took on the sound check and set up with ease. They had anything and everything we were in need of for our non traditional memorial and were able to accommodate and coordinate anything and everything we needed. Although the day itself for me was very sad, it was such an honor to have the Crocodile staff there to help me and my family celebrate my Brother's love of local music in such a special way. ***Females beware of this place!!! Security there really let me down badly. A horrible experience happened to me there that I don't even wanna get into. This place is way too small for the amount of people they let in. You have to squeeze through people to even get a drink at the bar- that sucks as a lady. Truly. Security have not been trained for crowds, de-escalation and protection of female patrons. Security looks like they are barely old enough to get a drink themselves. Let alone be in charge of others. Great local venue. The staff was all super friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making sure everyone had a great time. The sound was great, and the bar was well stocked and fair priced. This venue also has a hotel. We opted to stay the night at the hotel and were definitely not disappointed. Very reasonably priced and a great chic room that was super cozy and comfortable. Check is more like an Air BnB than a hotel which was actually not a bad thing. Your room code gets you in the locked front door. There are two flights of stairs to climb to get to the lobby which is a bar, although it wasn't staffed late when we were there. In the morning was way better quality coffee than a normal hotel would offer (Vita I think). Parking was available all night across the street for $25. I had to move the car to street parking at 0800, but that was only $4 until noon (check out). Parking was available at 1700 when we showed up. Overall a great experience. Wasn't sure what we were getting into, but will definitely come back. It was so nice to just walk upstairs to our room after the show. Don't sleep on this place! I've seen some of my all time favorite shows at The Crocodile. Nestled in Bell Town lives one of the few preeminent grunge venues left Seattle that still showcases live music today. The ability to showcase a major band to a small local upstart artist makes this venue extraordinary in my opinion. Having been fortunate enough to soak in bands like Cheap Trick with Pearl Jam opening, Allen Stone ( Local Hero & now National Touring act ) and The Beastie Boys I can say I've enjoyed many shows and many brewskis in the back room. Oddly enough I've never had the pizza while attending a show. How can that be I love pizza , don't you all? Let me know if it's worth having. Anyways no matter where your at your so close to the artist you could literally grab onto there leg for dear life but someone in a black shirt with security may stomp your guts out. Probably your guts are ok but 50/50 you may get escorted out of the venue. Take my word if you wanna see live music in intimate environment this is the place for you! Enjoy LIVE MUSIC! read more

The DJ was ok. He started playing house music at 1 am though. I left. He played some ABBA too. He played too many 80's pop non-disco songs. He played some 70's Disco though. read more

The Crocodile is located in the downtown Seattle neighborhood of Belltown. I would say it's divey in the best way. The bathrooms split the venue between the main performing area and the back bar. There's a special section for those under 21 that is off of the bathroom area. You'll be ID'd going into the main performing area due to the bar. Actually, you'll be ID'd at the entrance and then given a stamp on the wrist of over 21. You're not far from the stage no matter where you're at except of course if you're in the back bar. The great thing about the crocodile is this intimacy, relative in-expense of tickets and great choice of performing bands. A number of bands have gone from here to play the biggest music festivals. This is a great place to see up and coming bands without breaking the bank. read more

Worst venue for shows. If you have any disability that requires sitting or visibility, you're SOL. They can bring you stools to sit on or wheel you to the corner, but you can't see anything. The stage is low, so GA has limited visibility if you're under 5'-10". Absolutely no seating except in the enclosed bar (no stage view). I usually avoid this venue, and after the Senses Fail show where me and my guest were in pain from standing on concrete with no aid (injuries and disabilities) and no view of the show, I won't ever attend here again. I was with friends and we got escorted out because a girl I just met took a shooter in the bar. I bought 6 tickets to the concert and had to leave 20 minutes before the show. Then we went back to our room that was in the hotel and got told we had to leave without a refund. I do not recommend this place or the hotel. The hotel was disgusting had roaches. The lady was super rude when I tried explaining my situation. She didn't want to hear it at all. I couldn't get a refund. Then she also charged me an additional 100$ on the room. For "damage" but couldn't tell me what was damaged or show proof. When I asked to see proof I never got a response. On top of that 215$ I paid to stay there, and couldn't stay there. So basically was robbed of 500$. If I could I would give no stars. read more

Ok... so I'm a Seattle tourist and know nothing of the history of the Crocodile. We happened to be walking by during our happy hour bar hop and the name seemed familiar (and pretty cool) to me so we decided to walk in. Great decision! There wasn't a cover charge just a bouncer at the door. As we were getting a couple drinks a band was setting up to play. It wasn't too crowded yet so we were able to score some bench seating to the left of the room (which afforded us with space when the room actually did fill up.) It's a small, intimate venue but the views from even the back of the room were great. Definitely glad we came in and had a great time here. read more

It's taken me a while to write this review as it was quite upsetting at the time. I saw a show here with my sister in early 2019. We both have disabilities that prevent us from standing for long periods of time. We normally avoid GA concerts for this reason; however the artist we saw is a favorite of ours and we didn't want to miss this show. As soon as we got the tickets I emailed and asked about ADA accommodations, seating, and what to do when we arrived. Between the two of us we sent many emails and received a reply to only 2 of those. (They were sent over a few months, because we kept getting no reply.) The responses we got told us to just let security know and they would help us when we got there. The day of the show comes, we line up at a time about a 30mins before we were told doors were going to open. Doors open more than an hour - hour and a half later. By the time security came around we were in quite a lot of pain. I let them know about it and they told me to just tell them at the door. (They don't bag check at all, which honestly is a little nerve wrecking in our times.) We asked security at the door, and were quickly ushered to the very back corner of the venue and set up on high bar stools with no backs. They seemed confused and unprepared on trying to get us situated. We weren't allowed up on the balcony (which I understand) due to my sister being underage at the time. I watched as the people that were around us in line headed to the front of the venue and got great spots. Whoever set us up on the chairs told us that we 'needed to be out of the way' so we 'didn't disturb' others; which honestly was pretty upsetting. I don't think you should tell people with disabilities that they should be out of the way for others? I don't think bar stools are very accessible either. Both of us are short so we saw very little of the show from the very back wall. On the positive, the sound was good, and the artist we saw was great. Overall, I wouldn't recommend unless you are able bodied, or disabled and your group is over 21 for the balcony. read more

BEWARE of these CROOKS. Sadly I can't give them zero stars, because that's what they deserve. This place is a scam and it's best to avoid it. On Saturday night, 4/15, my friends and I went to the crocodile and paid the $22.00 cover per person to get into the club. (4 @$22 = $88). After paying our cover, their rude, unprofessional, and power tripping bouncer decided that my friend "had to much to drink" to be allowed into the club, even though he did nothing to her to make such an assessment. She based her decision not to allow us into the club solely on the fact my friend was holding an empty cup that once had some whiskey and coke in it; she didn't see any behavior or actions from from any of us to indicate that we were the least bit intoxicated, this was just the bouncer on a power trip over him having an empty cup that once has whiskey in it. She then told us that we could go elsewhere for an hour and then come back and she would then allow us into the venue. This was at 12:20 am so we told her no, that was not going to work for us, we were not interested in paying a total of $88 dollars to get into their club at 1:20 am when they close at 2:00 am. She knew this. My guess is that they were probably over the legal limit of occupancy so that was why she denied us entry. They then refused to refund my friend the $88 cover he paid for us to get into the club. I have no problem with them saying that we were not allowed into their club, I understand that is within their rights, however taking money for a cover and not allowing a person into the club is theft. Let's call it what it is. I realize their might be a good band playing here that you want to go see, I get that and if so that's cool if you go, just expect rudeness from their staff and bouncers. (Read the other reviews). Also be cheap with your tips or don't even bother leaving one, lastly please don't feel bad about helping karma out, as they are willing to ripoff their customers and you might be next one they screw, so go if you must go to see that band, just adjust your behavior and expectations accordingly. read more

The Crocodile is more of a dive bar with a small stage that ~150 people can smash into standing up with the other half of the establishment serving pizza. Think El Corazon with a bit more standing room. Great place to see a band up close and personal. Lighting needed help; put the band we saw in the dark a few times, the singer cursed them out. Sound was good. No TV's or other AV but not needed, such a small space. Purchasing tickets online gave us the option of checking in at the will call window for no extra fee, which was nice. Sketchy parking lot nearby. Better to park a few blocks away, grab an Uber or public transportation. read more
