Decided to check this place out with a group of friends because we had never been before, First off it was absolutely dead inside when we walked in, there was maybe 10 people on the dance floor. The Dj wasn't really playing anything good. To make matters even worse tell me why i'm paying 30 dollars for a drink that isn't cold and in plastic cups and are a quarter of the way filled? On top of that they apparently have a security guard whose whole job is to be a vape hall monitor. If any device is taken you have to pay 3 dollars to the person at the counter (who was actually very nice) Also the bathroom situation is very weird they don't have designated ones for males and females it's just open and watched over by a male security guard and you can't have a friend go into a stall with you. All in all was it worth the 60 dollars hell no, just go to X or still liquor at least they're making the money im spending worth it. Only Positives of the night is the big mirror and lights for photos, the security guards at the door who were super sweet and gave us water, and the guy working the counter who said it's ridiculous that security just walks the floor just to take peoples vapes.

Coming from Hawaii, my review on night club maybe bias to those who experience night clubs on the mainland. In Hawaii we only have one nightclub and its a very small one. So coming to Q Nighclub to celebrate my bachelor's party was a very fun one. First off, we ordered tickets online for $10 for Hip Hop & R&B event that was going on that night we went (Saturday Night). The staff and security were friendly when were were checking in and getting us patted down. When we walked in I was amazed by how big the club was. I like that they had a huge bar and it was separate from the dancefloor, with this there wasn't as much crowding at the bar. The dancefloor itself was big enough for a lot of people and we were able to dance comfortably without being cramped. We also had so much fun here hyping up other people and creating dance circles. It was all good vibes and no drama. The bartenders and bar was great. There were about 3 bartenders and they were working fast and hard. We never waited long to order or for our drinks to be made. The bartenders were really heavy handed/generous with the alcohol, so you know you are getting your money's worth and not those watered down drinks. So a couple drinks got us to the right level. The bathrooms were kind of confusing. It was gender neutral but there were urinals separated for the men, but this worked well as there was barely a line for the restrooms. Overall it was a great experience here. It is also located in downtown Seattle and across a gas station and near an iHop for that late night snack. We did get some hotdogs after the club closed across the street. Good vibes!

I never really do coat check because I'm paranoid about not having my things on me, but the one here is easy and reliable. The only real issue was the photo booth which only worked for the first half hour or so. I'm assuming it ran out of film or something because at some point, it just kept taking people's money without taking any photos, which was brought up to the staff. This isn't necessarily on Showbox since the photo booth is provided by a vendor, but I would've appreciated an "out of order" sign. If this happens to you, you can visit the vendor's website and call for a refund!

The touring production of The Phantom of the Opera at Paramount Theatre was absolutely fantastic…read more The cast was incredible, and the production itself deserved a much better audience environment than what the theater allowed. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst theater etiquette experiences I've ever had. During the first act, a man seated behind us repeatedly sang along during the performance. When I politely asked him to stop, the person next to him sarcastically pointed at the stage and said, "The show is over there," while the behavior continued. Around us, multiple people talked throughout songs and scenes, and later in the evening I even saw someone openly filming the show on an iPhone. I eventually had to leave my seats (Main Floor 2, Row G) and speak to management because the disruptions were so bad I couldn't focus on the performance. The only solution offered was seats in the very back of the orchestra. By that point, the experience was already frustrating enough that it took a while to calm down and enjoy the show again. What's most disappointing is that this is the SECOND time I've experienced terrible audience behavior at this theater. I previously saw Back to the Future here and dealt with nonstop talking during that performance too. I attend theater regularly in Southern California at Segerstrom Center for the Arts and also frequently see shows in New York City. Ushers there actively monitor audience behavior and quickly shut down disruptions. At the Paramount, it felt completely unmanaged. For the prices being charged -- around $350 for my tickets through Ticketmaster -- audience members should not have to deal with talking, singing, and filming throughout a Broadway performance. Amazing production. Extremely disappointing theater management and audience control.

Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. They also have a full bar, arcade games, board games, books to read, and even a small library on the shelves throughout the tavern. Somewhere inside, you may even find a signed copy of Purple Rose that I left hidden and dedicated to the historic Blue Moon itself. Beautiful evening with wonderful people. If you are ever in the area and have a skill you would love to share, go share your art. Find your copy of Purple Rose at JamesVThePoet.com

I, my wife, and her friend stopped by for New Year's Drinks around 6, and about 6:30 or so, made the mistake of asking Tim Duvall, the clearly drunken before 7:00 PM owner of the establishment, whether outside food can be brought into the bar. This led to his regaling us with an extended and utterly unsolicited history of the bar. He then invited himself to sit with us, halfway into the seat before slurring a "Can I sit down?" to insert himself into our booth. We then moved to another unsolicited conversation, this time about politics. Now, to be clear - I have no doubt that I and a sober Tim Duvall probably agree on most of our politics. This did not stop him from berating me as I agreed with his point, loudly escalating and yelling as I tried to agree with him (again... to be clear, I DIDN'T disagree his political view) until he stood and began yelling that I was kicked out. As I stood to talk on him, he became VERY comfortable with putting his hands on me, grabbing my sweatshirt to move me. I was NOT about to challenge that as a Black man new to Seattle that doesn't know how the police would handle things. I need to be very specific about how quickly this man felt comfortable touching me, grabbing my sweater to "drag" me. This is the step that is WAY over the line. I would genuinely like to recommend this place, as I'm looking for bars that offer sugar cane soda. Drunken ownership- in the early evening in New Year's - that feels comfortable being handsy with Black folk is far too much. AVOID at all costs.
