    Brunch menu

We loved our brunch at The Cottage! We made a reservation around 11:30 and were seated right away. The ambiance inside is so nice- very coastal chic- and even though it was crowded, it wasn't too loud. The starters are all really pricey- the deviled farm eggs were $8 each (!), and the spicy scallop tartare $9 each. I was tempted by the Waygu brisket bao buns, but we just could not stomach it for $12 each. However, the deviled farm eggs were incredible- the texture with the potato crunch on top so good, and it was the perfect light touch of truffle. I would absolutely get these again. The scallop tartare was good, but not outstanding, and we didn't get any spice from them. I was reluctant to get the sausage egg and cheese at first- my thought was, how special can a breakfast sandwich really be? I am so glad to be wrong, because this one knocks it out of the park- I love breakfast sandwiches and this is one of the best I've ever had. The sausage is so flavorful and really well-made, and the sandwich is pretty hefty. The crispy potatoes it came with were so good, and even the side salad was delicious. I was still thinking about this days later. My friend got the pastrami Reuben and really liked it, but we weren't expecting the presentation- it is definitely a more deconstructed take on a sandwich. Overall, a really nice brunch with some excellent food!

We love this place!! The seasonal hummus is to die for! (Right now the season being pumpkin!!! Holy yum!). The burger! The pasta! The shrimp fried rice! The menu is versatile and fabulous! Every bite of anything you order will be a 10+++. And the amazing staff. And the cocktails!!!!

My friends and I really loved this place. We shared a bunch of dishes and everything was super delicious. There is some Asian flavor in all the dishes here and it was well done. This place is pretty new and I liked how bright and modern the restaurant is. Service was decent as well. I think this is probably my favorite restaurant in Fairfield county so far.

The Bao wagyu was amazing but I forgot to take a photo! It was my favorite thing that I tried worth all the accolades. The brisket was so tender.

    Spicy Scallop Tartare

Just had the pleasure of dining here and what an absolutely spectacular meal. We ordered the Spicy Scallop Tartare which you order by piece and I could have had these all night. Warm crunchy rice against the fresh cold scallop with a bit of spice was a great combination. We also had the Wagyu Brisket Bao Buns which were a "build your own" and the fried rice. Both were delicious. For entrees we had the Black Bass and Mushroom risotto. The risotto was very traditional which I loved. No truffle on it which meant you could really taste the complexity of the mushrooms. For dessert we had the dark and stormy which was ginger beer sorbet with pineapple and it was amazing. Not sure what I was expecting but it exceeded that. We can't wait to come back! Staff was also super attentive and friendly, great ambiance, beautiful bar. Everything you want for a night out.

Already hitting its stride with exquisite food and good service. We came on the first Saturday after opening, the fifth night overall. We secured a reservation with Nadia, who made the experience a pleasure. The restaurant was hopping as the host showed us to a small but comfortable two top in the back near the kitchen. Started with a glass of Piper for me and a glass of Sancerre for La Portena. After consulting with our server, I settled on one piece of the Scallop Toast and one of the Brisket Bao, and a lobster salad for my date. The fresh scallop was topped with a truffle flavored mushroom topping, sort of a tartuffata. The bao came disassembled, one steamed bun, a chunk of moist wagyu brisket, and a log of potato tempura. There were three condiments, a sort of black garlic hoisin, kimchi, and sriracha aioli. Both of these apps are priced by the piece, so you can build your own plate. The lobster salad came with ribbons of burrata - hence the straciatella in the description. Two slices of well buttered toast came alongside. Portion size was adequate, but left us wanting more. Ordered a glass of Nebbiolo to go with the mains. The cedar roasted king salmon was melt in your mouth, with a bit of rhubarb on the side. The perfectly cooked saddle of lamb came with a bit of creamy puree, a sort of chimichurri, and a small meat filled pastry. Both dishes were excellent, but on the small side. Perhaps it was just as well that we were not full, because you don't want to skip dessert. The sticky toffee pudding was light and delicious, in a pool of salt caramel. The dot of creme fraiche on top added a touch of acidity. The affogato was equally scrumptious, our server pouring an espresso over vanilla gelato at the table. The staff were uniformly friendly and polite, but the attentive maitre d' Ralph deserves a special shout out. Chef also circulated and received our compliments on a meal well done. Overall one of the best meals we have had in Greenwich, and already in good form.

The Cottage is an eatery that is hard to put into words. It's fusion, it's fine dining, and it's combinations of flavors I haven't experienced before. And I say that as a compliment. For appetizers, we ordered two Wagyu Brisket Bao Buns ($12 each = $24). These were deliciously flavored, melted in your mouth, and you assemble them yourself so you can build the perfect bite. It was served with black garlic sauce, and kimchi, which I am admittedly, not a huge fan of, so I used it sparingly. I did build the perfect bite, though the ratios were a bit off. They gave a huge mass of kimchi, and if we had used it all, it would have resulted in a product where the actual meat was undetectable. The buns were served with duck fat potato tempura, which was crisp and delicious, and even as a standalone appetizer, this tempura would have been a winner. Our other appetizer was Spicy Pork Fried Rice ($23), which was the size of an entree! It had a stellar kick, crispy pork belly pieces, mushrooms, and scallions, a sunny side-up egg, and an incredible depth of flavor. For entrees, we got both pasta and meat. For pasta, we got Handcut Papardelle ($35), with a duck confit, dukka spices, and a hint of cinnamon. I was shocked at how well these flavors played together, and the confit duck was melt-in-your-mouth tender. I also ordered the Roasted Pork Loin ($40 that seems to have had seasoning piped into it with a syringe, creating some of the most deliciously flavored pork I've ever ordered in a restaurant. This was served with sauteed spinach and crispy potatoes, both of which were seasoned very richly. For dessert, we ordered the Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse ($15) which was our one miss of the night. Too much was done to try to "elevate" a classic, and it fell flat. The little pieces of orange in it disrupted the smooth texture I was anticipating, it was an example of "less is more" not being adhered to. Holistically though, The Cottage is a beautiful eatery with rich, bold, and creative flavors that we would recommend wholeheartedly.

Our server was very friendly and attentive, and both the drinks and food came out quickly since the kitchen wasn't too busy. We ordered several appetizers to share, and my favorite was the grilled octopus--it was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. For my entrée, I had the shrimp risotto, which was nicely flavored and very satisfying. We also ordered a variety of desserts to share, and I liked the churro bowl the best. Overall, the drinks were strong and the food was delicious. Would definitely come back!

The mezze plate came with small bowls of hummus, baba ghanoush, tzatziki, and roasted pepper dip, as well as pieces of pita, cucumber, carrots, celery, and olives. All the dips were delicious. The burrata toast had roasted squash, apples, maple walnuts, pomegranate seeds, a little bit of greens, and a balsamic glaze. I'm a burrata lover, and it's usually served with tomatoes, but I loved this unique blend of ingredients. For my main dish, I had the Maine lobster roll. This was served cold, with mayo, on a potato roll, with a side salad. The portions were huge and the lobster was so good. For dessert, I tried the skillet chocolate chip cookie, the chocolate lava cake, and the pavlova. Everyone at my table agreed that the chocolate chip cookie was the best dessert. It's served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup. In one word, heavenly. For drinks, I had a yummy lychee martini. My dad had wine, and he asked me to add to my review that he thought the wine markup was very reasonable. It's a beautiful restaurant, and service was great. Highly recommend stopping here for dinner.

I ordered the 1930's Rachel sandwich with pastrami, Swiss, sauerkraut, and thousand island on rye, served with a side of fries. The sandwich was well balanced and satisfying, with the pastrami bringing a good depth of flavor and the bread nicely toasted, though nothing about it pushed beyond what you would expect from a reliable local spot. The fries were crisp and did their job, but again, more supporting act than standout. Where the meal really turned was dessert. The Tangerine and Ube mousses were easily the highlight of the night. Both had a clean, refined presentation and a smooth texture that felt more thoughtful and elevated than the rest of the meal. The tangerine was bright and refreshing, while the ube brought a subtle richness that rounded things out nicely. It was the one moment that felt memorable. Be prepared - the menu is extensive! Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the service. We felt rushed throughout the meal, with attempts to clear plates while our forks were halfway in our mouths.
