We always enjoy coming to The Cos Cobber for either lunch or dinner. The food is delicious, drinks tasty and service is excellent!

I was asked to leave this diner with my service animal after the staff demanded "papers" and a "certificate", which is illegal under the ADA. I tried explaining this to them, but they were adamant that I was wrong . I've had my service animal for 5 years now. I would have gladly answered the two ADA-approved questions, but no one even bothered to ask. My dog gave two small barks after the staff became rude and confrontational. To this, the waiter said he was "not acting like a service animal". This was a really sad experience for me. I hope management receives proper training so that no one else with a disability is treated this way. read more

First time here but always drove by and never felt inclined to go inside. My mom recommended it so we decided to come for a casual quick bite. The food was surprisingly delicious! It's unassuming because the reviews aren't great but I loved the burrata and my salad was so good. My mom loved her burger and the meat was perfectly cooked. They also have really friendly and speedy service. The only issue is the bugs that are flying around when you eat so maybe it should be a bit cleaner but still giving 5 stars. Challah French Toast. 2 slices of thin cut bread they called Challah. Asked to swap out strawberries for blueberries and banana. They charged 2 dollars for 10 blueberries, 1.75 for maybe 8 thin slices of banana. So $14 for mediocre at best French toast with garbage syrup. Manager thought the additional charges were justified. We have never eaten in- only take out. We are addicted to the cos cobbler salad. It's so yummy- bacon bits, hard boiled eggs, Gorgonzola, avocado and we get an order of grilled salmon on top. It comes with dressing too. My family ate all addicted to it. We also get a side order of the onion rings. Again- do yummy. Slightly greasy but they have a good coating of batter. read more

I have passed this place for years. Based upon the other reviews I wasn't sure if I should try it but I'm glad I did. I've went on several occasions now and the food has been pretty consistent. They have a lot of options and are very accommodating in substituting things if you don't like.I highly recommend the Turkey club, and chicken francese. The food is terrible, the service is bad - I went there right when it opened as well. Drive past, eat at McDonalds instead. Trust me.

To start, let me say that I've been a normal patron of the Cos Cobber for years, being a huge fan of the laid back atmosphere and solid food. However, after the first experience I had tonight, it's sad to see how much the place has deteriorated. In the past, service was quick, utensils were clean, and the atmosphere was casual yet upbeat. None of these are true for the current state of the restaurant. Service was slow, the food was subpar, the silverware/dishes/table were unclean, and the atmosphere felt, for lack of a better word, sad. This place has issues right now. I don't know if there understaffed or if it's under new management, but there seems to be an obvious disconnect between them and their customers. I would not recommend going to Cos Cobber if you're eating in Greenwich (at the moment). read more

Part of any dinning experience is how welcoming and efficient staff are. While the food was good not once during our time at Cos Cobbler did staff make you feel welcome. No smiles, no pleasantries, nothing but a sense that the sooner their shift was ended the better. The Cobbler deserves better and hopefully that happens. read more

This place is like an adrenaline shot in the quiet Greenwich neighborhood, always crowded, hard to find parking, but the wait is worth it. I had driven past Cos Cobber many times but had never attempted to go in as it looks always full, which is a good sign. Dropped in the other day, though the place was packed, I did find a solo bar seating. The server Jeff, was knowledgeable about the menu, made a few recommendation, and I decided to go with the New England cuisine of Clam Chowder and Fish and Chips. The service was pleasantly fast, both the soup and the main dish were great, specially the Fries that came with the fish. The hostess came to check in on me if i had enough room and suggested some other seats as a few people had left, which I though was very thoughtful. Parking is probably the only downside to this restaurant, but once you are in, the service and food makes up for it. read more

I order uber eats and every time I've ordered from The Cos Cobber, they have messed up my order. Either just don't give me all my food that I paid for or they give me someone else order. The food and service was not great the first time but it is local to us so we tried it again. Again, simple eggs with bacon were not great. The third (and LAST) time cemented we won't return. Oddly, there weren't many patrons on a Sunday morning having breakfast. We were given the usual odd look upon entering - nothing personal but standard for this place, apparently. Well dressed and polite, the waitress acted like we had three heads & was weird. The omelettes were awful, both under & overcooked. We don't need this oddball experience. On April 29th I took my daughter to the Cos Cobber for lunch. We both ordered the same salad and a glass of wine. As soon as my daughter started eating she pulled a bone out of her cobb salad and put it on the table. Within a few more bites she found the core of a head of lettuce in her salad so I got up and asked the server to bring her a new salad. Clearly she was not happy but got it and never returned to see how it was or if we needed anything else. A few bites of the new salad and my daughter pulled a LONG HAIR out of her salad and that was it. I got up and told our server who brought us a check having removed ONE salad from the total. I paid and left her an 11% tip but the next day I reconsidered and sent a letter and a copy of our bill to the owner. A few days later "Tom" called me to apologize and tell me that the owner would call me when she returned from Europe. He told me that he would like to make it up to me and I suggested that a refund would be appropriate. Today, after "17" days and two more phone calls to "Tom," I have not received a phone call from anyone, nor a refund. Clearly, the cleanliness in this "restaurant" is lacking and nobody seems to care the way in which we are treated. Pretty sad. I do NOT recommend that anyone eat there! Kathy Kurland read more

Crowded as you might expect for a Saturday night. I found a seat at the bar. Service was quick and efficient the bartender know the menu cold. Tomato soup with artichoke and Shrimp was very tasty and well spiced. The people next to me had the calamari appetizer and it looked good and I am jealous. All the tv's are on sports so don't be surprised. I had the linguine Vongole with clams and mussels in a red sauce. A little too much water with the red sauce but still very tasty. I sat next to the pass and the 3 person kitchen was humming and seemed to be a well oiled machine. No wasted time. I will be back. read more

Second time here after disappointment at brunch a while ago. Ordered sirloin medium rare but had to send back a medium well done steak. Naturally I got a Rare streak on retry but that's not unexpected. This one had absolutely no seasoning. Who grilles a steak without at least using salt and pepper? One of my companions ordered a medium rare burger which was served almost raw. My wife got Chicken parm which was just mediocre. As we were leaving we saw another table being shown a blackboard with 7 or 8 specials offered. No one even asked if we were interested in specials of the day. If you're looking for plain, sufficient food this is a fine option. Honestly not much of an improvement from the former occupant in terms of variety, and it's a huge jump up in cost. I had some nachos and a salad, both of which were disappointing collections of ingredients. Yes, the nachos were tortilla chips with cheese, and the salad had lettuce and tomato but they were both dishes I could have made myself. I just received a phone call from the owner of this restaurant yesterday (July 5, 2018). She had seen my previous review and wanted to remind me that I did ultimately receive a refund after several phone calls. She also wanted me to know that she spoke to our server about the poor service and she is still working there. In addition, she does not have any employees who work in the kitchen that have long hair so she can not understand a long hair got into my daughters salad. Horrendous and slapped together. I wanted to give this place a second chance after my first experience with frozen salmon and bad mashed potatoes. We went back excited to give the place a second chance. The crispy Brussels sprouts with honey were soaked in a pool of water. The French onion soup was pathetic- processed powdered cheese sprinkled on top of the chicken broth filled soup- disgraceful. The fries had no salt and were cold. The crab cakes were a pile of greasy mush, not even warm or crispy. Honestly this was one of the worst meals I've had In years. It was absolutely appalling that everything we ordered was terrible. This place was not exciting in the least... Walked in and wasn't spoken to for an uncomfortable while. Once seated the service was mediocre and the food was OK.... The whole whole the owner and her brother kept coming over and talking to the table right next to us saying how they are paying for 4 of their meals and how they HAVE to try the "free" desert.... This is the worst breakfast I have ever had. Don't waste your time or money here. I ordered the corn beef hash and two eggs over easy. The eggs were barely cooked still had the whites runny and not cooked. The corn beef hash had no flavor and was so over cooked and dried out. My mother who cant cook actually used to make corn beef hash on the boat on a sterno grill. It was a hundred times better by her. The food here is so simply and plain. They did not have any kind of home baked pastries or muffins either. Hope this place closes and something new goes in soon. Service was cold and unfriendly. Dont think our waiter ever said a word but maybe he could not speak English. I was so hunger but I could not eat my breakfast not even the toast was good.
