I had the pleasure of visiting this special Italian Cafe for my birthday. The food is excellent! My vote for probably best Italian food in CT. This is a family owned business and you can tell by their service. The love for their customers and the pride in the food. It's a casual home feel with lots of locals that you can tell are repeat customers. Downside , weekend reservations are not available. First come first serve. So wait times can be very long. Advice - prob visit during the week when they first open. This will be a repeat for me !!!

Well worth the wait. The food... all of it... no complaints. Everything was a burst of happiness in your mouth. The spaghetti with duck ragú and tortellini with sweet cream sauce - chefs kiss You really feel like family here. The wait staff is super positive, friendly and helpful. The best part is if you are in between two pasta dishes they let you do half and half and the portions are perfect. Not too much and not too little. Make sure to call ahead and see what the seating looks like because this place gets very full and the wait can be upwards of an hour. A MUST TRY SPOT!!!!!

Wow. An amazing experience. By sheer luck, we managed to get a reservation for 10 people directly on the day of (tried many times before for the smaller groups and never succeeded). First, the wine list is between spectacular and amazing - the selection is excellent, but what makes the list amazing are prices, which are more than fair (a bottle of tasty Italian white for $30 at a restaurant? yes, please! ) Food was delicious too. We shared a few appetizers - stuffed mushrooms were excellent, fried artichokes - excellent, roasted peppers with white anchovies (similar or the same as Spanish boquerones) - superb. I had cavatelli with mushrooms as a main course, and it was very tasty. My wife had short rib which was perfectly cooked and delicious. Great service - prompt, friendly, attentive. Most highly recommended.

The restaurant was fully packed with guests. We were seated a few minutes after our reservation time. There was no waiting area, very crammed. Despite this, the staff at the entrance area were welcoming and friendly. The food was absolutely incredible. The portion sizes were very large, so absolutely go there with an appetite. We ordered a few apps, entrees, and desserts. You cannot go wrong with anything on that menu. A huge selection.

The service was great! The food came out fresh, and everyone had recommendations. The fettuccine was 10/10. The dish was flavorful. The calamari was also delicious. The batter was seasoned and the red sauce had a little spice. Make sure you make a reservation because the tables were full the entire night. Great for a date night, birthday dinner or just getting some good food.

Wow...just wow!!! I love Italian food...but I'm not sure if I knew what REALLY great Italian food was until dining here. This place blew my mind with their Pork Osso Bucco with Saffron Risotto. The pork literally fell off the bone, and the saffron rissoto was creamy and bursting with flavor. I could have eaten the rissoto all on its own. The Fettuccine Mascarpone was delicious as well! Pasta was cooked to aldente perfection, and the sauce was creamy and light. We paired the meal with the house malbec, which complimented the flavors very well. The meal started off with fresh bread, olive oil, and an interesting side dish of muzed veggies/beans. Being that there were only two of us, we opted to go straight into the entrées. I will say, the menu itself had some super enticing appetizers. However, 2 entrées between the two of us was plenty! The quality of the food along with the portion size....absolutely insane! Food aside, the service was phenomenal. Despite it being fully packed on a Saturday night, our waitress made sure to check in frequently and offered great suggestions. As for the ambiance, the place was super charming. It was dimly lit, packed with tables. Managed to have both a family-friendly and romantic vibe. Definitely appeared to be a local favorite. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend coming here. You absolutely will not leave disappointed. Although...beware....your expectations for good Italian will forever be changed.

Food as everyone says is amazing. The staff is really friendly but it is a popular spot so spots are limited.

Food: Altamura Pizza…read more($20): A nice mix of meat and veggie toppings including sausage, meatballs, mushrooms, peppers, pepperoni, and onions; otherwise a fairly standard quality pizza; decent value Squid Ink Fettuccine ($26): Classic seafood pasta dish done well with shrimp, calamari, mussels, and of course fettuccine; maybe could have been a bit more flavorful but still standard quality Ambiance: The most special part of this restaurant is that the interior is decorated like a real restaurant in Italy, with brick walls and tons of interesting little decorative pieces here and there. The space is not all that big, but is cozy (also helps that the front opens up toward the outdoor seating area). Service: The staff are pretty friendly and the service speed is decent. There was a guy with a shirt saying "Big Mike" who seemed to constantly be monitoring the place which was a bit odd but I suppose he was just the boss keeping tabs on his restaurant. Overall: Average quality food but nice Italian-inspired environment. Would recommend if you are in the Stamford area and interested in Italian food.

We arrived about 90 minutes before Happy Hour ended expecting to enjoy the advertised specials. We were told Happy Hour was bar only, which would have been fine... except the entire bar was closed for a private event. So let me get this straight... your Happy Hour is only available in the one area of the restaurant that customers aren't allowed to use? The restaurant wasn't busy, so we politely asked if they could honor the Happy Hour pricing at a table in the main dining room. The young server checked with the manager, came back, and said, "Sorry, we can't." That wasn't a policy decision--it was a customer service failure. When circumstances make it impossible for customers to access the bar, a manager with even a little common sense would accommodate guests in the dining room. Instead, they chose to lose paying customers over a completely avoidable situation. So we simply replied, "Sorry, we're leaving." And that's exactly what we did. Congratulations to management. You successfully turned customers who came in ready to spend money into customers who will never return. There are plenty of restaurants that understand hospitality. This one clearly doesn't.
