This is a fantastic Italian restaurant in downtown Stamford. The food is really good, and the service is outstanding. I am a chicken parmigiana guy, and I think it's one of the best in the area! Run, don't walk!!! The WORST customer experience we have ever had with a food delivery service! We spent over $500 + tip & we didn't even get the correct pizza's!!! I was told I was bothering them; they didn't have time & too bad that we were not happy w/ the "service". WTF!??? I highly recommend Sally's or Frank Pepe's pizza, right in Stamford! Excellent pizza in an old-fashioned style restaurant that's been around for nearly 20 years. Pizza can be ordered "traditional" (Italian) or New York style, and they offer gluten-free crust, which is some of the best gluten-free crust I've had! I would have given this place a 4 or 5 except for this weird experience I had. It was Valentine's Day and the restaurant was crowded but the owner gave me a big table. I even thanked him for it and I told him I appreciated it and I realized it was a busy night. I ate my dinner and I was done except for the drinks - I went to the bathroom and yes I had to really go and I was in the bathroom for 15 minutes emptying my bladder. I couldn't help it. While this is happening the owner who was originally nice to me kept knocking and the bathroom door to get me out. When I got back to the table they had cleared everything including my drinks. He says to me "you know it's Valentine's Day. I need the table". What do you want from me - I was in the bathroom. I was gracious enough to thank you at the very beginning for the table but am I supposed to crap in my pants because you are rushing me out. Can't believe I've never been here after decades of living nearby and visiting other restaurants on the block. Delicious food and excellent prices, even more excellent made by huge portions. The service is great, we spontaneously walked in from the windy cold and were seated right away. The staff were very efficient and the food came out very quickly. I try to avoid seed oils and the waiter patiently explained that only fried foods were used with vegetable oils and I was safe to order basically anything else. Super accommodating. They give you complimentary bread and oil to start which was tasty. We also shared the meatballs and broccoli rabe. I had the tonno salad and my mom had the pasta fagioli soup. Everything was delicious (I just didn't like the dressing that came with my salad). But the that ricotta with the meatballs was enough to make me return. The broccoli rabe wasn't too bitter and the soup was so flavorful. Will definitely be back to try more. Definitely a nice casual family friendly establishment. read more

Had the lentil soup as an appetizer (which was lovely), followed by the chicken parm (which fell a bit flat, as it lacked the kind of seasoning and crispiness you'd expect). Worth the stop! Driving through Connecticut we're always looking for a place to stop for quick lunch or dinner and this hit the spot right off 95! As a family with teenage children who follow One Bite pizza....we tend to try them out if we don't have other recommendations! This was fantastic NY style pizza but not just the pizza was great! Everything from the bread to the Zeppoles were all delicious! I think we will be replacing our usual Frank Pepe's stop for Remos! We may even have to find a reason to come to Stamford! Boy this one hurts. We've been ordering Remo's for years. Always delivery. In the past we never really had any issues at all; great food delivered somewhat promptly (it's ok for it to take a bit longer when it's a busy night). The food was always hot when it arrived because, in part, the pizzas/pastas/ entrees would travel in an insulated carrier. These days are no more. Things have changed. The place now uses uber eats to deliver your food. So the delivery guy doesn't have the insulation bags for the food. So the food is now delivered ice cold. Every time. Tonight we received our pizza and pasta and it was inedibly cold. It was also delivered 1:40 after we ordered it. When I called to complain - and suggest a refund be applied - the rude manager explained that uber eats is responsible and to contact them directly for any refunds. Well, there is no relationship between uber eats and the customer if the customer orders directly from Remos. So, the manager pretty much told me to F off. Again, we've been ordering from Remos for years, so we're super disappointed. But I guess this means we can take our business elsewhere and explore more CT pizza. read more

Flavorful, crunchy and chewy all at once, well-seasoned. Their penne allá vodka was heavenly...some of the best vodka sauce I've tasted, and the portion was generous. First time in Stamford... Service is lax but that's the Italian way. We were in no rush, our waiter was nice and the food was comforting. We had : Mozzarella sticks - delicious cheese the breading was rather thick ...picked it apart a bit but still yummy. The marinara sauce was absolutely divine. Margarita pizza with pepperoni too - thin crust, well made. Great ratio for cheese and marinara sauce. Naturally the middle was a wee bit soggy but did not matter as the taste far outweighed that. Caesar salad - mediocre and a bit disappointing given the Italian ambiance. Dressing was not homemade nor were croutons. Other than the generous amount of dressing given. I wish I had gotten it on the side. For a good pizza I'd definitely come back. read more

I wish I had known about Remo's earlier into my trip to Stamford. Absolutely stellar experience between the service, ambiance, and food. I ordered the chicken parmesan dinner and received a massive and delicious serving. I also had their cheese pizza which was equally as good. Even the bread they serve before the meal was great.
