I had a mixed experience at Quartiere. The staff were friendly and mostly attentive but the food was hit or miss. We started with some mocktails that were very good and the apple & pear salad that was also good. Our waitress also brought us some complimentary bread and herb butter. All good. But when my entree came it was so disappointing. I ordered the hanger steak cook medium. It was cooked to temp but had to be the chewiest steak Ive ever had. The steak knife wouldnt even cut through it. The knife basically ripped the steak apart. It also came with the largest broccolini I have ever seen. It was basically broccoli but ultimately was under cooked for how large the stalks were. I did try the desserts but they looked good. read more

It's a tiny restaurant and they really cram the chairs in one behind the other. We had a reservation on Valentine's Day and it was no where near full when they tried to stick us basically up this guys butt - the proximity was so tight where it was impossible to fit comfortably, let alone at all. We requested a different table since there were plenty available. We shared a wood fired pizza with pepperoni and hot honey and that was excellent. Our entrees (salmon & steak) were just okay. The tiramisu was phenomenal! Service was very slow. It could pass for an upscale place, however the bar tenders were in actual hoodies and sweatpants so it cheapened the vibe substantially. I went last night with a colleague for their "reverse happy hour" (best idea ever!). It was our first time coming across this restaurant despite living locally. The low light ambiance and music was definitely giving adults-only vibes. What I really liked was being able to talk and hear because the volume level of the music was just right. Our waiter was attentive and would check-in on us from time to time, ensuring our experience was the best. He had quite a friendly and genuine demeanor about him (sorry, I don't remember his name but he wore glasses and had dark hair). The margarita pizza, wine, and desserts (didn't have lava cake so I tried their chocolate mousse) were delightful to indulge. We also received a complimentary drink of choice on the house just because! I will definitely be coming back again and hope to bring other colleagues along for the Quartiere experience. read more

I am truly disheartened to give Quartiere a two star review. I visited Stamford a few months ago and did not get to visit Quartiere before leaving so I put it on my bucket list to come back. Well the day finally came and I made a special trip for one night from NY to dine at Quartiere and I was let down. The atmosphere is grown, sexy and intimate. Not too fancy but a place you could look cute for. I enjoyed the atmosphere most. The food left a lot to be desired. Under seasoned/under salted. The salad was severely underdressed and dry. The pizza was okay, still lacked seasoning for my taste buds. The pasta was my biggest issue. I came specifically for the house made pasta. Now it was made in house because you can definitely taste and feel the difference texture wise but that was the only redeeming quality. From the pictures below the Vodka Piccante sauce was sadly broken. It was grainy, not smooth or creamy like you would expect a vodka sauce to be. It had 0 spiciness and again under seasoned for my liking. My friend had the Ragu Bolognese which was okay but not great. The service started out fine until the waiter confused our order and my vodka piccante came out minutes before they closed. We had arrived almost 1 1/2 hours before they closed! He confused the vodka piccante with the vodka pizza I believe and then blamed the kitchen...not sure what happened there but I then felt rushed to finish my meal or take it to go. Lastly, I think it's a little pricey for a dish with about 10 bites in it. Overall, I would say go at your own risk. Personally it is overhyped and most likely will not be returning. Lively and cozy Italian restaurant in Stamford serving quality handmade pizzas and pastas. Spicy Crispy Calamari ($16)- Not bad, but also not particularly good. First of all, it wasn't really spicy. Also, while there was a crispy fried exterior, the inside was a bit mushy and the calamari didn't have much flavor. The rest of the dishes were better though. Sausage and Mushroom Pizza ($17)- Pretty tasty pizza. The crust was on the thin side and was a good level of softness/firmness. Decent amount of sausage and mushrooms. I appreciated the fact that the pizza was not too oily. Al Limone Pasta ($21)- This was a uniquely shaped wavy pasta that was handmade and cooked to a perfect al dente consistency. The lemon cream sauce was nicely lemony and delicious. The shrimp on top completed this simple yet enjoyable pasta dish. Ragu Bolognese Pasta ($21)- This had the same kind of wavy pasta as the Al Limone, but with a more traditional ragu bolognese sauce. Another simple yet tasty pasta dish. The restaurant has a very lively atmosphere, which can be slightly noisy for normal conversation but can appeal to those looking for an environment like this. The lighting is slightly dimmed, with candles on the tables to set the mood. There is a bar area as well as a good amount of table seating. It does get quite busy during peak hours, although I was able to snag the last available table on a Saturday night without a reservation beforehand (I did call 10 min prior though). The decor is a blend of modern and traditional, with an interesting curved wooden ceiling along with an exposed brick wall. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Can never go wrong there. We ordered a pizza for the table, Americans with pepperoni and hot honey I believe. Perfect personal size but also a perfect share size for 2-3 people that won't interfere with the main course. Main courses we all went with a pasta dish. Each one was well received. I went with a creamed corn style sauce which is the inky way I can describe it. Amazing!! Never would've have thought of that more have I seen something of that creativity in other dining spots. My only rec with that dish is to maybe serve a little something spicy on it like Nduja, spicy sausage or guanciali to play in harmony with the sweetness of the corn. Wife had the carbonara and my son had the vodka. Each was delish and plenty enough that we took portions home. My son went with fried gelato and just as amazing as everything else we had. The food here is good- but the price increases over the past few months are insane. Dinner for one - including tip, was $45. Without drinks! I went solo at the bar and paid $24 for a bowl of pasta, added $9 for grilled chicken, and did not have any alcohol or drinks. For context, the price for the base pasta was $16 a year ago- a 50% increase! Quartiere used to be a great value and casual weekday type place, but now these prices do not make sense. Ok so In Connecticut for first time. So far just cold, & haven't been wowed by food yet. Now as far as QUartiere the food Maragarita Pizza 1/10 (the waiter said they just changed their crust.) they were out of fresh basil , so I asked for pesto. The pesto was watery Amrit some reason. Not sure if that's what made the pizza get soggy in the middle, couldn't pick it up even after it cooled down. Fries 0/10 cold, asked for them to be Desh and we received refried version of out first order. Which has " truffle & pecorino on it. Thus, I could tell if there were fresh would have been good. Calamari 0/10 very cold, a bit chewy. Overall not great. Drinks 2/10, Hendricks Gin & tonics with cucumber & lime wasn't great tasted like the quantities were off. Lemon drop my friend said it was ok. Ambiance was very nice. The customer service was AMAZING. 10/10. I couldn't even be upset with the food because the service was so good. I just love this place. And I'm not alone. I moved to Stamford and didn't know anyone. Wandered in latish one Friday night to find it buzzing. And delighted to find it has menu specials most nights, including an excellent "reverse happy hour" the last hour or so on Friday and Saturday. I'd never been someone who went to bars or restaurants on my own, until circumstances changed, so now I do. And Quartiere is by far my favorite. The bar staff and all the staff are so friendly, everyone gets a warm greeting and excellent service. The food is great - dare I say the best pizza in Stamford (that's a high bar)! And the cocktails are excellent (especially the espresso martini. But try their wide range of gins and other cocktails). The venue is classy and intimidate. But not intimidating. In the summer there's outdoor seating. And they started doing brunch. It has very recently changed hands. Congratulations to the previous and new owners. All us regulars just hope that not much changes. It's a true treasure of a restaurant. I feel lucky to call it my local, regular haunt, for 1 or 2 nights a week. read more

I have come to Quartiere often and every time I am always please! Their happy hour menu is one of my favorites in Stamford (wine bottles 1/2 off!) The food is always amazing and Italian can be hard when you're gluten free but the pizza and bread always is fantastic! Mary has been our waitress many times and I have to say I have never had a waitress as great at her! I left my umbrella once and I was able to get it the next day! The place is smaller than I would like in order to give a 5 start rating but hey that's what it's about right? Give me the small space cramped against a wall with great staff and great drinks and food! I got the pepperoni, peepers and onion pizza with mushrooms. My first time at Quartiere which is a new restaurant to me even though it's been open for a while. Promoted as a neighborhood style restaurant, they do not take reservations. We were a party of 3 and had to wait a half hour or so at the bar for a table to be ready. Not terrible but the no reservations policy isn't a win either. The ambiance is great. A hanger type atmosphere with a bar and small tables it really does feel neighborly. Classic pictures are on the wall and an open concept kitchen which really works. The bartender, server, and host were all gracious and friendly. Our server (Sam?) was especially friendly and attentive. The food was wonderful. We had calamari to share, and the entrees of shrimp pasta, sausage pasta, and salmon were flavorful. We split tiramisu at the server's suggestion. The prices are quite reasonable. Came here right at 4p on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised that to see other people coming in right at opening time too. We were quickly able to get a table for 3 people. The ambiance was very cute - dimly lit and almost felt like I was sitting in a large barrel. The complimentary bread seemed promising, but the bread was cold. I did mention this to the staff, but even after a new loaf of bread was brought to us, the bread was cold. The crust was warmer though. This is the only reason for knocking off a star. For appetizer, we had the Stacked Eggplant and which was very tasty and light - tasted like an eggplant parm. For an entree, the 3 of us split the Verdure pizza (replaced the artichokes and zucchini with onions). The crust was great and the pizza was very flavorful! For dessert, we ordered Chocolate Torte. Definitely takes some effort to cut into the torte, but the chocolate is very rich and good. This place has daily specials and has a great vibe to it. After passing by the restaurant many times, my fiancé and I decided to grab dinner and drinks on a Friday night. We were seated immediately in a perfect area in the center of the room by the wall. The service was great and attentive. We ordered a bottle of Pinot noir and steamed mussels to share. For dinner, I ordered the Vodka Piccante and my fiancé ordered the Sunday pasta special. I wasn't a fan of the wine and the mussels were extremely salty. However, the bread and pasta dishes were amazing!! I loved my dish and was exactly what I was craving. My fiancé loved his Sunday pasta with a variety of meat. The pasta is handmade and you can definitely tell. We came for a birthday celebration and it was up and down. We came on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was packed. They were clearly understaffed as our waitress was overwhelmed and the owner kept coming to check on us to ensure we were okay. We had to wait a while for our appetizers-- maybe 15-20 min--and they forgot to bring half of our meal. With that said, the wait seemed not too out of the ordinary for a restaurant that was very crowded. What was out of the ordinary was the way they handled it. Our waitress, despite being overwhelmed, was very kind and friendly and apologetic. Any item that she forgot to bring or came late, she gave us for free. And, as an apology, the owner sent us home with his favorite bottle of wine as a birthday gift. Others have written that this place is truly a "neighborhood" spot and we couldn't agree more--even on a rough night, they went above and beyond to accommodate and ensure we were satisfied. As for food, we tasted the calamari and meatballs for appetizers. Both were very good. The calamari had a sauce with capers on it that was surprisingly delicious (usually I prefer fried calamari to be dry and crispy). The pizza was amazing. We ordered the Salumi with a side of hot honey. The meat was SO tastey and it went perfecty with the honey. We'd highly recommend any pizza with hot honey on it! We also got the vodka picante, which was good but very simple. Definitely not as unique and well done as the pizza. The cocktails we tasted were fresh and not too sweet. Used to really like this spot until one day the food and service was so bad I will never be eating here again. Went for a dinner date for a special occasion. Made reservations but still had to wait about 25-30 minutes to be seated. Not a big deal and we got a free round of drinks because of it--that was all good. Certain guests at the bar made some judgy comments about my date and I--not the restaurant's fault, but it was the beginning of an awful experience. In my appetizer salad there was a piece of plastic wrapper--maybe this is where the lettuce or croutons came from. I made my waitress aware, she apologized for it, and I received a new salad. Not a word from the manager. We moved on for that to enjoy our entrees, and for no apparent reason, 20 mins after the plastic wrapper incident, a man in black comes out from the kitchens and says, "Are the table with the issue?" At first I thought he was one of the chefs, I said, "You mean the plastic, yes." He goes on to tell me in a lackadaisical tone that these things happen all the time and they cannot be perfect all the time. Then leaves to the floor. Basically trying to dismiss my complaint or the seriousness of it. Having worked in restaurants before, items in food should be taken seriously because it's a health hazard. It was random and I saw no point in him coming up to us and saying that. We had already moved on and were finishing our entrees. Not only that, I then realize he's not a chef at all, he's a random server on the floor! The audacity this guy had to say that and continue to ruin our experience. Completely unprofessional and unnecessary. I called for a manager and let her know how tasteless (pun not intended) the interaction was and how I've never experienced that eating here. And the only thing she does is give my date and I a free round of champagne. No comp or anything that would make up for this terrible experience we had at every stage of our dinner. This solidified that I would never again go to Quartiere in Stamford again. That place is full of people who do not care. read more

The reviews for this place looked great so I had to go! I invited another couple to join my husband and I on this pizza adventure on a Thursday night. We had the option of dining indoor or outdoor. I'm glad we picked indoor because we realized a little later that there is a smoke shop just a few steps away. If you don't like smelling cigars while you're dining, stay inside! The place was buzzing, loud, and felt great! There was a mixture of families, couples, and singles. They had a great prix fixe option for a good deal. The pizza was good, not great. We had the Margherita, my ultimate taste test when it comes to pizza. It needed a crispier crust and more flavorful sauce. We also had the Americana which had pepperoni and hot honey...that's always a great combo. Salt plus sweet!! It was a little too salty for my taste but the sauce was better than the margherita. The vodka piccante was good. More sauce and a little kick to it would bring it up a notch. Tiramisu was not authentic but it's a nice chocolaty sweet treat after a salty meal. Wine options were good. The brunch menu looks good so I would like to go back for that. And maybe even the happy hour. It's a lovely place, great to hang out. Service is really great! Such a gem in Stamford. Solely based on takeout alone I'm in love with this little Italian spot. Picked up food on Friday: eggplant stack, one Americana pizza and one stracciatella gluten free. Carried out well, stayed hot and didn't get soggy. Best eggplant ever and so much for an appetizer! Gluten free was so yummy you couldn't even tell it wasn't the real thing. The marinara was my favorite to dip and the capers were a great touch of acid. Vodka pizza was good, loved the pancetta, but the heat was a bit overpowering. Hanger steak was cooked well and seasoned well. The fries were thick and crunchy and the arugula salad was okay (made better with balsamic dressing).
