This was our first time to Quartiere, and, all in all, we had a very pleasant experience. We had chicken francese with mashed potatoes and haricots verts, a hanger steak with arugula and french fries, and a pepperoni pizza. The chicken dish was hot, fresh, and tasty and the steak was well prepared and seasoned. The pizza was not one I'd order again. It had an unusual taste, and the pizza toppings didn't adhere well to the crust. We topped this off with a hot and delightful lava cake with ice cream and dripping caramel. The dish was hot, a nice touch for a lava cake. We were at the restaurant fairly early on Mother's Day, and the place was not really crowded until we departed. Nevertheless, the music was a little too loud and the clattering of dishes around us and at the bar caused me to drop 1 star from what was otherwise a perfect meal. read more

Really a good meal, had the gluten free penne shrimp al lemon and I loved it. No idea where they're getting the pasta or if they made it but it was awesome. Same goes with the GF crust. Had the formagi add sopresata and it was one of the best GF crusts I've had. My dad's wife loved her eggplant parm dish. But the highlight was my dad's chicken milanese. He had three strokes in the last week so we needed something that was low sodium and they went out of their way to deliver. And my dad's only complaint (and he's a complainer) was that there wasn't enough salt. Amen! Everything at this place was perfect! The food, service, and environment made this one of my favorite experiences I've ever had at a restaurant! We had the Caesar salad (fantastic) French onion soup, Americana pizza and the meatball. Would recommend to anyone that is in the Stamford area. The bartender / servers were unbelievable. My husband and I used to love this restaurant, but it is definitely not the same as it used to be. We tried twice recently thinking the first time it was just an "off" night, but the food and the service have both declined dramatically. The pizza, the crust in particular, is different than it was, and not especially good. The staff in the past were very welcoming and enthusiastic as well, but are no longer there. The current staff are not particularly friendly, and during our last visit, although we were dining at the bar, the one (female) bartender didn't even make eye contact with us, much less give us a "hello". Came for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was fairly empty, which was great as they do not take reservations for parties under 8. We sat outside on a nice day and it was not too busy of a street. I started with the Fiorente Spritz, which was refreshing and a nice change from the usual aperol spritz. To start we had crispy potatoes which had lots of rosemary and Parmesan flavor, served with a creamy aioli. Great portion size and super tasty. I had the Vodka for Breakfast entree off of the brunch menu, which was a vodka sauce with sausage and pancetta. I felt the sauce lacked a bit of flavor and the pasta was a bit over cooked. Quite literally stumbled upon this place since all the other places we tried to go to were booked. THANK GOD! Left here saying "this is my new place". We called ahead and someone answered on the first ring and was so friendly - let us know there was a couple tables available for 2. We came in, and the bartender was immediately attentive, even though the place was packed. They had a staff member put place settings at the table we asked for since someone had just left. Figured out that our waitress was the co-owner with her father, and she was so sweet and friendly! Such a cozy, happy, cool overall vibe. Literally like having a chef cook you a homemade meal. Food was so well made and clearly a well chosen menu. They also have a special drink/food deal every day of the week - including $8 espresso martinis. Needless to say, I will be back for that! Very upset at my service experience here. We arrived with a party of 4 at 7pm, spoke to a manager and put our name on the waitlist. He said we would wait 25-30 min and we would get a text, so we waited outside (the inside is incredibly small) we watched 2 couples be sat instantly. we went back in to check in on the waitlist at 7:35. Waited 15 min at the front for someone to acknowledge we were there (not sure if they were short staffed or didn't have a hostess for the night?) we finally tracked down a waitress and told her the situation and she grabbed the manger. He then told us he would have a table in 15 MORE minutes!! How crazy is that! We would've ended up waiting over an hour. I said to him, how is it that you continue to sit more tables of 2? Wow, what a gem this place is! Newly opened in Stamford, the Quartiere is truly nailing their namesake of bringing neighborhood Italian to their city. The margherita and stracciatella pizzas were both delicious with their fresh sauce and cheese, and thin, crispy crusts that held the toppings well. You could taste the quality of their homemade pasta in the carbonara, and it was a perfect portion size as well. The spicy calamari was so flavorful in a fantastic lemon white wine sauce, and the garlic aioli was a great pairing with both the calamari and the crispy potato appetizers. We enjoyed a Negroni while we sat outside and enjoyed one of the last warm afternoons of the summer. For dessert, we spoiled ourselves with their chocolate torte and tiramisu. This is currently my favorite place for Italian in Stamford! I truly felt like I was dining in Italy with how authentic the food was. read more

New place for us! Love it . We had the cocktail bank street. Tastes like a modified Manhattan. I loved it. Nice orange and bitters flavor. I had the stracciatela. And Pete had the margerheta. A young waiter came by quickly and he provided recommendations upon our request. The food was very good - so great recommendations. It was so good in fact that we went back on the second night. To our surprise, another waiter remembered us from the night before (no, we did not make a scene on the previous night and she wasn't our waiter/server) and our prior waiter also came by to say hi. I wanted to try the dish my son had the previous night but couldn't remember the dish name. To our delight, the previous night's waiter recalled for us exactly what we ordered. This gluten free pizza crust is in the top 3 that I've had over the past 14 years across all of my travels (including Italy). My take out order wasn't ready when I arrived, and the bartender was incredibly nice and communicative - she pulled out a seat for me to wait and offered me a beverage. I can't remember the last time anyone was so hospitable to me while I waited for take out. Got the Americana and the Quattro Formaggi to try red and white pizza. The Quattro Formaggi really surprised me as my favorite - thought I'd prefer the Americana, but wasn't in the mood for the hot honey. The restaurant takes precautions such as cooking gf pasta in its own water, and cooking the gf pizza on a tray so it doesn't contact the oven directly (same oven as non-gf pizza though). Zero star - Age discrimination. Discrimination: prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of ethnicity, age, sex, or disability. We used to go to Quartiere as a family with a four year old son (and spent a lot of money) but not anymore. We're not welcomed. It is adults only and they age discriminate against kids and teenagers. We were told that we couldn't stay because our son is not welcome here (in an empty restaurant..). You will not see us again even if we are coming without our son or you change your discriminatory rule. So parents and others beware, they may ask you to leave.
