Me and my friend are trying to go to all of the diners in the Fairfield county area as an experiment. This diner has been by far the worst one. We walked in, chose a table and waited for 20 minutes before the server noticed us. Food came out and it was okay, Not the best. When it came out it looked great, but lacked in any real flavour, except from the pickle. (what do you expect from Stamford tbh). Room is small, and the booth we sat at is not centred and the table was 6 inches from the seat back on one side, so if you have a horizontally challenged friend, don't sit at a booth. Price was honestly outrageous, don't come here expecting to spend less than 20 dollars a head (15 dollars for chicken tenders???) The bathroom was basic but not bad, the toilet paper was very high up, and it would be hard for a child to reach it. When we were paying at the front, our waiter was basically standing over us watching the tip amount which was slightly awkward. Overall I would rate this a solid 2/5, biggest negative was the price. After very few reviews, I was eager to check this little place out and offer my opinion. We came on a Sunday morning, had no wait at all, and were greeted immediately by friendly staff. We were asked for our coffee orders and brought coffee right away. The menu is extensive, with a lot to choose from. The place is small, but feels like a classic diner. I appreciated that the menu offered raisin toast. Our food came out right away. We got breakfast specials, one with all three meats and one with a slice of French toast. Both of us ordered our eggs over easy. One set came out as ordered, and the other sunny-side up. The bacon was where I was disappointed. Usually Diner bacon is nice and crisp. This was limp and undercooked. Bummer! Otherwise everything was just fine. We'd definitely return, and I'd like to try their lunch/dinner offerings. read more

For breakfast, my friend ordered a small waffle. I ordered one single solitary pancake. We each had coffee. With the tip, it was 25 dollars The atmosphere was pleasant. But, twenty five dollars! You've got to be kidding! read more

Classic diner fare in an old timely classic diner. Sits right next to the train tracks so don't be surprised when the train horns go off! Server was friendly but not intrusive and food was solid. First you start with locating a new diner to see how they are - the owners glare at you from inside as you pull up. Walk in and say good morning, you get glared at even more. Only words - sit anywhere. Get handed a well used and abused menu that should have been retired. Paper literally glued to the table from being repeatedly not cleaned/washed, now a permanent fixture. Bugs....yes bugs on the table...actually with the sourness coming from the very unhappy owners, the little guy was the high light of my morning. Ask for coffee and more time to check the huge menu - decided to try chicken sausage and some eggs....yea...downfall, sausage tasted old and smelled old, like rotten old. (Blech) Best part - HAIR! Yes not only one delightful hair in my eggs, but two in the food - super fun surprise - NOT! Sadly I could not get a good image of this.... Been living in Stamford for 8 years and last month was my first time here. Since then I've been here four times and every time that I come here the food the service has been great. It is very affordable and the diner is very hospitable and with a lot of local great people that come in this establishment.So the eight years that I didn't come here shame on me. :-) read more

Awful experience. I am a lifetime Springdale resident and I can't believe how badly we were treated. A handful of customers and 3 servers standing around and no one waited on us, not even a glass of water! I had to get their attention to get service. And the breakfast sandwich was mediocre. I enjoyed being able to sit outside with friends for a nice lunch. I had a chicken salad, my friends each had different kinds of omelets, one with feta, the other with a blueberry pancake. The receipt was completely illegible, items and prices. By my calculations, the total should have been less than it was. None of us made a big deal about it as the food was fine; however, it might deter me from come back. read more

This place is cute from the outside so I wanted to give it a try but as soon as I got to my table I noticed that it was dirty and very sticky which immediately turned me off but I was still willing to give it a try. The menu is pretty small, very standard diner food. I ordered a spinach and feta omelette dry and the waitress told me that she would try. I guess she wasn't confident the kitchen and cook it without oil. My husband ordered the lumberjack special and asked for turkey bacon instead of ham or sausage. Our food came out and it seemed like very small portions also my husband's eggs didn't come out with his meal. When we asked for his eggs the waitress said all they were up there I guess implying that they were sitting waiting to be taken to our table? They also got the substitution of turkey bacon wrong. Overall I would say this experience was not great. The food was just OK and the service could have been better. When we got our check we were way over charged for the lumberjack special but I will say the owner made it right without an argument so that's a positive. Overall I would say skip this place, there are far better diners in Stamford. read more

Yeah ...NO. LAST RESORT ALWAYS. Staff is almost never happy and the food is just eh. The coffee is just eh... and the service is the same. It's like they are doing you a favor serving you ? For the prices you can go anywhere! So I'm sitting at the counter and ordered a coffee a few years back. Asked for milk back then and was given a little silver serving pourer.... I smelled the milk and it was bad. I said (to the owner) "I think the milk is spoiled". He smells and says no it fine just use it.... I pour it in my coffee to play along and it ofcourse curdles !! He says oh,ok you were right ?!?! You want to prove something over 20 cents worth of milk ? No no no .... plus 90% of their food comes from cans. I don't put canned mushrooms ina n omelette. Clean, small, quaint. Kind Greek staff. Small menu for a diner. So my one co-worker had grilled cheese w/waffle fries and cheese on top. She said it was the "perfect diner grilled cheese". I ordered the chicken souvaki platter....that was seasoned chicken chunks w/Greek salad & vinegrette dressing (yum!), with Greek yogurt dressing, hot, homemade pita, and french fries (couldn't eat most it), and Ken got pork souvaki wrap with pickle and fries. $42 including tip and tax in Stanford, Conn. Can't really comment on the cleanliness or service because I placed an order to pick up after doing laundry up the street. After reading some of the reviews I was worried that the food was going to suck, because I've had bad diner food before and when its bad....it can be pretty gross. Their food was pretty good. I had a cheeseburger deluxe and my boyfriend had a pastrami special. Both of which were tasty enough that we would go back. I've never had an issue with cleanliness and have found the establishment to be spotless upon every visit. All the keys are there: Friendly service, decent food, hefty portions, and fair prices. Hi All, I have been to this place 4 times in 10 years... and it seemed to get worse with each visit. It starts with bad service, then you notice the not -so-clean dishes/silverware... and then the awful food. I travel a lot around the country and sometimes when I return, I crave a good Northeast diner. Well... this is definitively not one to fulfill that craving. This could be the worst place I have eaten in the Fairfield/Westchester county area. I am just amazed that it stays in business. My theory is that on weekends, all other diners are sooooo crowded, that they just get the disgruntled overflow customers. Very dissapointed. Came here with my friend on a thursday morning the place was dead. Their coffee was awful it tasted like iodine . I couldnt drink it. Whats it like a dinerwithout good coffee. There was no one it the place but us and two guys. So i told the older single waitress the coffee tasted funny . She then in Return told me ....really its fine ive been drinking it all morning . Although not the prettiest looking diner, the food is very good. I had a Philly cheese steak and it had a lot of meat in it. The chili for the fries is spicy and very good. Stopped here on a drive back from NYC -- very nice diner. Fresh ingredients, crispy yummy fries. Our hamburger, gyro (delicious wrap, fresh and tangy yogurt spread, piles of lettuce and tomatoes), and pancakes (LADEN with chocolate chips!) were enjoyed by all three of us.
