Found this small little cute breakfast and surprisingly not even busy and I know why. Nothing special about the food and the breakfast potato was the laziest creations ever they just sliced the potato poorly and deep fried it. I barely finished half of the potato and now my stomach doesn't feel good. I bet they won't even eat their own food. Should've went to McDonald! read more

Walked over today and got a cheeseburger for my boyfriend and a bacon egg and cheese with avocado. It was fabulous. The avocado tasted really fresh and delicious. My boyfriend LOVED the burger. Very cheesy and good. Though he did say he wouldn't call it a "smash burger" as advertised. The lady at the front counter with the pixie cut was great, lots of moxie and personality, I personally liked her no BS approach and vibe. She was cool. One of my co-workers suggested this and I wasn't expecting much of this small place. But it's a nice little surprise. A good selection of sandwiches, salads, and soups. Most recently, I had a chicken and sausage gumbo. Really really good and tasted like New Orleans. There was no mistaking this for a canned soup; definitely tasted homemade with deep rich flavors and chunks of fresh ingredients. Loved it. Very friendly and quick too. The prices are fair for the area if you're looking for cheap through this isn't your spot but I was told you have to pay for paradise and in this case it is money well spent. I ordered the lobster chowdah. It was delicious, hit the spot! I then ordered the tuna on rye with lettuce tomatoes & black pepper. The veggies were fresh and the tuna was good. However, the rye sandwich tasted old, not stale old but probably a day or two old. If the bread was fresher this would have been a moist and delicious sandwich. After starting to work here in Stamford, I have been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally last week I was super hungry at 9 something so I decided to drop by for breakfast. I ordered the Western Burrito, the 8" burrito thinking oh that should be a decent size and I don't need to get the 12" burrito because I still want to eat lunch later. (I was thinking man 8" that is a steal...) I asked for a whole wheat wrap which they were able to provide and it took 10-15 minutes to complete my order. Not to bad, but as I saw the man putting my order into a paper bag I noticed that the burrito was maybe about 4" in length and maybe 1" thick. I took the bag and you can feel the weightlessness of the bag... I got back to the office to eat my burrito. Taking it out of the bag it was even more smaller when I looked at it. I probably should have taken a picture with a napkin to compare sizes. I finished the entire thing in 3 or 4 bites(these were very small bites so I can savor my little tiny appetizer) and not to my surprise was still hungry afterwards. It literally felt like I ate nothing... Additionally I can't say it was the best tasting burrito, since it did lack filling... So it essentially tasted like a wheat wrap with cheese. So when they say 8" or 12" they are going by mcdonalds kind of standard of the quarter pounder, being precooking size. Guess this coincides with the outrageous prices every other review mentions here. Honestly the prices aren't terrible, but then when you see what you are getting for the amount you are paying, then the prices are terrible, since you should be getting 1.5x of what you did receive for the price you paid. I would probably not come back for breakfast burritos or any type of lunch wrap, but I still want to try some of the sandwiches and the soups. I'll update after I try this place out again. read more

Been coming here before and after the pandemic for roughly two years as a regular. I love this place, easiest, best, and fastest lunch around. Their daily specials are always incredible and their soups, salads, and sandwiches are amazing. This is a cute little local business. I've only come in twice, and had a decent experience both times. The interior is a little shabby, but in kind of a quaint family-business way. The sandwiches are good, including the breakfast one I had. The Italian wedge was tasty. The clam chowder was just Ok, but I did like that you had a choice of breads (including banana bread) with it. Able to accommodate gluten-free -- modified an omelette -- they used fresh smoked salmon, spinach, really tasty tomatoes, crisp onions and cheddar cheese, and added GF toast -- honestly, probably the nicest omelette I've ever had. I've never had a bad meal from Seasons Eats. I like that they focus on seasonal produce and foods and have a rotating menu of daily specials. I also love the fact that they update their website daily to reflect what the specials are - some places can't be bothered to do that. Today, for example, I had the special soup (North African Yellow Pea Soup) and the special vegetable, which was a black bean chili stuffed sweet potato with avocado, cheese and green dragon sauce. The soup comes with a choice of crackers, bread, cornbread, or banana bread if you're feeling feisty. For both items I paid $14, which is a reasonable cost for Stamford and the portions were filling. The interior is warm and inviting and it definitely has the hustle and bustle of a neighborhood favorite. If you don't mind that, it's a good place to eat lunch and read a book. read more

I like that they switch up the specials and use a nice variety of ingredients. The soups are especially good. The Gumbo and African pea soups are among the best, with fantastic flavors! The soups are pricey for their small size for certain, but very tasty, hearty, flavorful and healthy. The lobster chowder however has very little lobster and mostly additives like cream and starch -- not good. They should really increase the ratio of lobster that they put in there. The service is nice and friendly, and personal, which seems rare today. They have a good team working and seem like a good work family. Was in town on business and had 30 minutes for lunch. I was steered away from another highly rated (Yelp) sandwich shop so chose this one. Very good choice. Very eclectic shop serving from several menu boards; sandwich, burgers/burritos, soup/salads, ice cream/shakes. I got a #3 from the sandwich board. Roast beef, muenster, lettuce, tomato served on a tasty oatmeal country bread. It came with a taste of their homemade potato salad. The sandwich was very fresh and couldn't be much better as far as a fairly basic sandwich goes. The potato salad was not the type I like but if you like a mustard and vinegar heavy salad, you'll like it. They had a selection of freshly baked cookies, brownies that looked good but I didn't partake. I'd definitely go back if in that area again. read more

I was meeting some friends in downtown Stamford for lunch on a Thursday and looked for someplace new. I happened upon Seasons Eats menu and it looked good so we agreed to meet there for outside dining. What a great find! We had a variety of food including one of the many daily specials and not one of us was disappointed. The food itself was very well prepared, but more importantly the combination of flavors on items was great. Cheese steak with chili? Awesome. Sometimes little things impress you about a restaurant. In this case it was the choice of bread. One of my friends ordered a vegetarian sandwich and asked if they could make it on whole wheat bread. The server mentioned that they had whole wheat, but also had 7-grain, rye, white bread and a few types of rolls. It was a little thing - but it's things like that that tell you that a place is serious about having what customers want. I have been back several times since with others and every one of them has questioned why they never knew of this place before. It was a great find. Love this place for lunch. I always manage to beat the lunch rush, which comes in at 12:15 or 12:30. I order at 12:00. The food is fresh and tastes healthy. The soups are absolutely mouthwatering. The first time I got a vegetable soup. My boyfriend got the lobster chowder. I loved both of them. Second time I didn't have as much luck with the soup. The bean chili is awesome but a whole bowl would be a little too much to handle because it's heavy. The lobster chowder this time was too salty for my taste, but then again I think everything is too salty. The Italian sandwich is great. Tried the turkey burger the second I went: good but not amazing, a little on the dry side for me. I'd highly recommend this place. My first choice for lunch within the deli style genre. Someone mentioned that their wallet doesn't like this place. Neither does mine, but some places paying a higher price for better quality food is worth it! read more

What a pleasant surprise to find this place on Bank Street. I'd passed by it several times, always making note to stop by. I did once, about two years ago, and because my co-workers weren't blown away... we just never went back. Well, that's all changed. I was craving, CAH-RAVE-ING, turkey chili. In fact, if I remember correctly, I was making everyone's lives pretty miserable until my hunger was satisfied. A quick search brought me here (now Season Eats... but they still have the Katie's sign). I cannot be happier that I gave the place a second shot. Turkey chili= awesome. I could use a little more spice (and maybe some cornbread on the side), but when push comes to shove, it's exactly what I need. Heathwich sandwich (turkey, swiss, healthy slaw, some other goodness)= awesome. Satisfying, perfectly balanced. Waldorf Chicken Salad wrap= awesome, again. And they don't skimp on the grapes, which I love. I do concur with the other Yelpers that their prices are a bit high-ish. If they knocked it down by just a pinch, I think I'd be here MUCH more often ($13 for half a sandwich, soup, and a drink just doesn't cut it for me). But if you just want a solid, soup-sandwich-or-burgerfied lunch, this is the place to be. read more

That's what I told them yesterday :) In fact, Stamford much needed such a NYC like health-concious, nutritious options led place, which knows to respect (poor?) vegetarian folks. And the best part, it's a family owned local hut. No Chain or MacD s**. They have house made, fresh, no corn, no processed sugar, healthy, multi grain bread and pan cakes - and their vegan burger is best! Helped/Supported me reduce 10 pounds!!! (along with gyming!) ...heheh :) Esp love the sweet lady and gentleman - who makes sure my coffee and burger is always the best. They always offer me to sit in and have my lunch :) Otherwise, you know what kind of treatments we - vegans - get ! This isn't a place you will be treated as outside planet object - ET! Came here for lunch with my boyfriend. The atmosphere was colorful with nice music playing in the background. Everything was priced very fairly. I got the vegetarian black bean chili which came in a huge bowl. Was a little salty but overall good. My boyfriend had the roast beef sandwich which he loved. Usually he saves half for later but he couldn't help eating all of it in one sitting. He said there was a horseradish sauce on it which was unique and very tasty. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was because of the little bugs that flew around near our head. Gross. Also the customer service was a little off. It's a nice mom and pop store with only two people who work there (assumably married). They were a little busy and a bit dismissive. Overall a nice experience. read more

There's a lot that attracts me to Katie's Gourmet, couple-owned, quality sit down, unpretentious deli feel, a vague sense of community based on its many regulars... but the woman with blush in two hard lines like Lady Elaine Fairchilde ("Prince Tyoozdy!") and the pixie cut of Judi Dench seems to instinctively distrust female... okay, the past times I went there, she seems to be rude/brusque to me in particular. She's softened over the last couple times I visited, maybe I seemed more decided on the menu or something. The man who runs the grill has been very cool, though. Other than this, there's a good amount to like about this place. The bargain burger is only 5 dollars, but fairly juicy with onions and pickles, The breakfast burrito is freshly made and I particularly liked the vegetarian burrito (which I have a feeling may have been, um, switched with turkey) for the abundance of black beans and cheese even though it was small and rather pricey. There is fine turkey chili and fresh food. I have rarely disliked what I've tried there. read more

Interesting place. Good food. Fun decor. The home fries were among the best I have ever tasted! The floor show is worth the breakfast. Because of the location you see an interesting crowd: business men in suits, workers in laborer attire, bun heads (there is a ballet school across the street) and a great racial diversity.
