Mac 'N' Cheese

Came here to celebrate Valentine's Day dinner with my wife. They have valet, but I didn't find it necessary because there is an open parking lot shared with other businesses with plenty of spaces. Valet was still courteous to open the restaurant doors for us, despite us not using their service. Unexpectedly, they had a nice Valentine's Day back drop inside for pictures, and they also provide a single rose to my wife which was a nice touch for the occasion. While it was expected to be busy for valentines (and it was), we were seated immediately upon checking in for our reservation. Uncharacteristically, my wife and I opted for no drinks or appetizers, as we wanted to get straight to the main entrees. I chose their 10oz filet and had it Oscar style which was amazing! It was my first time having a steak that way and it is now one of my favorites! To pair, we shared Mac n cheese (without lobster) and creamed spinach. Both were great. We opted out of dessert though as nothing stood out to us. This was a pleasant experience and one of the much better steakhouses I've been to in Houston. Definitely recommend.

Daily specials are worthwhile Love the Texas CattleMan decor. Zach our server is an asset. Excellent food , service and ambiance

Did not order well done!

Steak was overcooked and much smaller than advertised. Good service, nice ambiance, but at this price point it should not be some tiny charred thing when it's advertised as a 18oz dry aged strip steak. Not cool Capital Grille with an e.

Onion dip, filet sliders, lamb chops, garlic shrimp, greyhound martini, and old fashioned.

Went to Capital Grille for happy hour yesterday and it was outstanding. We had the cast iron garlic shrimp, sliders, lamb chops, and onion dip and every single thing was delicious. My favorites were the shrimp and the sliders, which honestly surprised me because I am usually not a sliders fan at all. The peach bourbon smash, old fashioned, and greyhound martini were really good too. Solid food, great drinks, great vibes. Oh... we will absolutely be back.

Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged NY/KC Strip with Shallot Butter

Loved this visit When we try new steakhouses we try to get as much as we can to really get an idea of how good the food is overall and if we will want to come back. Houston has a ton of options so you have to wow us at the price point to get me to come back. Wine list was ok, typical mark ups. We grabbed a bottle and ordered the chilled shellfish to we're to start with. It was great loved everything that came with it. Lobster, crab, oysters, and prawns. Had all the classic accompaniments too. Would definitely order this again. Then we moved on to the steaks. These were incredible. I'm surprised I don't hear much about their steaks because they are better than papas bros which came highly recommended and quite a few other steakhouses as well. My wife got the Kona-Crusted Dry Aged Bone-In NY Strip with Shallot Butter and I went with the Dry Aged NY Strip au Poivre with Courvoisier Cream. Both came a perfect medium rare and were seasoned to perfection. We shared bites and were equally impressed with both steaks. A few let downs but not enough to take a star. The lobster Mac n cheese was just ok. Not even close to as good as Steak 48 nor Mastros but the steaks were easily on par with both. The vibe and atmosphere of the place was great. However, we were seated really close to the front and near the hostess table. So unfortunately, we didn't get fully immersed in the beautiful vibe of the restaurant. It has that "old money" style and decor. I really liked. Overall, I will definitely be back for more steaks and shellfish towers but will be more picky about where we are seated. Til' next time!

Came in on Saturday night, with reservations. We were seated promptly. Our server was great and efficient. Food: Filet Mignon- ordered it Medium. Was cooked perfectly but it was overly salted. Took some of the flavor away from the meat. Mashed Potatoes- the sides are ordered separately from your entree. It's a good value for the price as the portion is huge, could easily have 3 people eat from one. Flavor was great. Caesar Salad- as a Caesar salad expert, this is a great salad. Portion was perfectly. The dressing isn't fishy, which can happen sometimes. We love the vibe of this restaurant, it's very old school. Service from the front to the table, is impeccable. A perfect dinner date, when you want something with an upscale relaxed fit.

This is by far one of my favorite places to in ever. So simple, yet so elevate, understated, but still a statement recommendation. Oysters are always delicious, top tier, fresh, light, so good. Lobster Mac decadent, Caesar is delish. Service is next level, inviting, accommodating, kind, funny lol I sat at the bar. The gentleman behind it was a 10/10 on his own. The ambiance is sexy, the lighting is just right. Perfect for any date night, grabbing a quick dinner, out with the girls, literally anything. And you can watch all the sports you want!!

Ordered online 2/9/25 for super bowl game about 200$ for the food . I went early waited in my vehicle was thinking they would send a follow up text /email when was ready but nothing so went in hostess says they wait for someone to come in to bag it i guess but what is the purpose of curbside then? I ordered medium well chops and to me was more medium (wasnt running ) then medium well way too much pink the dry age steak was cooked medium well as requested. I think next time ill dine in and ensure medium well it was great in terms of flavor fatty but juicy.

Me and my friend go here every year and do their generous pour coupled with Houston's restaurant week and it's always divine! My most recent visit was August 2025!

Give me a Capital G for Great!!! This restaurant in the Galleria area of Houston was top notch for a business dinner. We had a table of 7 and other than it being a 3 hour event (mostly our fault), it was a grand experience. Service was spectacular with water refills happening seemingly after each sip, wine pouring when a glass was almost empty, and clearing plates and silverware as if we were all kings who wouldn't dare use a fork twice. Their Lobster Bisque was probably the best version I've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. There were huge pieces of lobster in the velvety orange creamsicle colored bisque. I think I even had an intact claw in there! So good! The appetizer of fried calamari was also damn good, with no rubbery parts and lots of crunchy tentacles. These disappeared pretty fast! I ordered the Seared Tuna and the piece was beautiful and big and so fresh and flavorful. All the accompaniments were delicious as well and after bread, soup, and apps, I couldn't finish it all. There are plenty of nice options in the Galleria area, but I'd put this Capital Grille up against all of them. Just make sure someone else is paying and you'll love it!

We split tonight's special. 10oz Filet Mignon with lobster tail and Au Gratin Potatoes

The food was delicious , very nice restaurant with classic steakhouse vibes. Zack was our waiter and took really good care of us.

Fantastic Flourless Chocolate Cake !!!
Michael C.

I ordered the NY Strip cooked rare, 1 Titos Vodka n Diet Coke and a slice of Flourless Chocolate Cake for dessert. The steak was simply awesome being very delicious due to a very generous amount of seasoning, high quality, fatty to the right level, beefy in taste and the dry-age zing was just right not being too strong. The slightly bouncy inside was cool and contrasting to the warm, coarse, crusty top. Each bite was so consistent, very flavorful and very tender all the way through. The drink was simple, refreshing and chilled. I normally like vodka in lemon drop drinks, but thought would try it with a diet soda for the first time. The dessert was amazing, so rich, dense, full of deep cocoa vibes, buttery and had some great, refreshing raspberries on the side as well. I love dark chocolate and raspberries a lot, both by themselves and together. The coconut pie here is amazing too. The service from everyone I came across such as the guy that served me, chef, busboy and whoever else I met was so welcoming, friendly and efficient. Excellent meat. Excellent dessert. Excellent service. I also really enjoyed that dark raisin pumpernickel bread and some onion bread with my meal. Most bread with meals is just an extra filler to me if anything, but these ones were actually tasty with good freshness and texture. A bit sweet n savory.

O. M. G. - I've had mixed experiences here. Tonight was noteworthy. Amazing service. CHECK. Ridiculously great steak. CHECK. Giant Martini glass. CHECK. Friendly bartender. CHECK. Enjoyable banter with regulars. CHECK. (note I'm visiting from LA). My favorite Capital Grille's are dark and have dark wood paneling. CHECK. I'm from Boston and love the original locations: Providence. Newbury Street. Route 9 Chestnut Hill (my favorite by far). So we had; New York Steak, Gorgonzola Cheese encrusted. Perfect medium temperature. I mean PERFECT. I literally wanted to hug the chef. Perfect medium temp. Standard Creamed Spinach. Delicious. Last time here = fail. This time = Home Run.

Our friend booked a reservation and was able to add a fourth person without any issues. It's on Westheimer where all the restaurants and shops are, so it's pretty busy. You can either park on the street or in the neighborhood behind. There's bar, small table and booth seating available. One of our friends who arrived early got to switch us to a booth since we'd have a few plates to share for the four of us. My friend and I shared the NA red sangria. I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.

The pork chop had a beautiful char and was full of flavor--slightly undercooked, yes, but still delicious enough to carry the whole meal. I do wish they had mashed potatoes on the menu, though... it would have made it perfect. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, and sadly, they missed the mark this time. Dry and bitter, nothing like the saucy, flavorful version I've had before--maybe just the late hour catching up with the kitchen. But even so, that pork chop... it lingered in the best way. And sometimes, that's all you need.

The presentation of everything was beautiful but the flavors were lacking, especially with the gnocchi and the bolognese. The gnocchi itself was soft and the perfect texture, but the shrimp was very rubbery and had no flavor at all. The tagliatelle pasta was great but the bolognese sauce was flat. The texture of the meat was really unpleasant, almost like canned meat. The calamari breading was more like tempura, really good. It could have used a little seasoning but the red pepper sauce was great. The bread service was really good. Both the tiramisu and olive oil gelato were amazing. The prosciutto and burrata had great potential, especially for it being the top server recommendation but it needed a little more love as well. Maybe a whole poached pear instead of diced. The vibe inside is super cute with mood lighting and plenty of intimate seating spaced throughout. Parking in said shopping center is sparse. I'm not sure if parking is allowed at the neighboring businesses after hours, but I wanted to play it safe and ended up waiting about 15 minutes for someone to vacate their space. Our group had a couple of tables reserved and they had no problem having everyone pay on separate tabs. Service is offered both at the table and bar. Our waiter was attentive and had great recommendations for wine. When I was conflicted between two whites, he graciously brought me out both to taste and decide. I went with the Cacciabruco Malvasia/Trebbiano, which is a skin-contact white wine, so it had more of a reddish hue to it and almost looked like a rose in the dim lighting of the restaurant. I really liked this, as it was on the drier side and satisfied my palate more than the Gewürztraminer that I had also sampled. I didn't try the food but others in our party really liked the flatbreads they ordered. I do want to try these out next time because I know they will pair great with the wine! The fig, prosciutto and other toppings complimented each other well. The flatbread dough itself was ok but could've benefited from a little more flavor such as some garlic, butter and herbs. I also would've liked it a bit thinner so I could taste less of the bread and more of those delicious toppings. Don't get me wrong it was good and I ate all of it but these are small suggestions I'd recommend to bring it to perfection. I could see parking and seating being tricky. I was fortunate to snag a parking spot on the side of the building near the auto place and once inside I found a seat at a table with a lovely couple, another couple joined us soon after. Many of the guests who arrived later stood at first and then halfway through the event, made their way to the floor where they sat cross legged.
