Terrible experience. It is not the same as it was before. Presentation has been changed to bad. Food variety is not the same. No more seafood delicacies even at dinner time. Several Asian food it is not fresh. Dessert island was the only one well presented with great variety . No matter no ice cream machine anymore. Sushi not that fresh and roast beef low quality and guy behind counter serving, offering very shy portions . Service was OK but buffet extremely poor, same level as Uncle' Willies at Metrotown. read more

Crab legs but that's it... I was invited by one of my friends for the weekend dinner buffet. I'm not big on buffets, I never feel like I get my money's worth, but since Vancouver doesn't have much buffet I thought lets try it anyway. I walked around before starting to see my option. A large salad bar, (not really what buffet goers look forward to), a seafood/sushi bar king crab legs and shrimp, the crabs was great, sushi was ok typical sushi rolls no sashimi, has a roast beef station, a "hot" section with pastas, Asian type noddles, soups, fried rice, (this section was the least appetizing to me) the dessert table was good lots of selection. For 29.95 plus tx. It was just ok. read more

I came here with the fam for the Seafood Buffet (Fridays and Saturdays, dinner only). Food, selection, and selection are OK. Nothing really stood out. The person assigned to our section comes by to clear up the plates quite often. For the Seafood Buffet, they had roast beef, ham, and Turkey on the carving station. Shrimp, mussels, and clams at the end of the salad bar. The salad bar was a ghost town. They also have a few sushi rolls and sashimi. And a dessert section. The ice cream and Popsicles are hidden on the other side of the drinks station. And for drinks, they have apple, orange, and cranberry juice, and a few selection of pop. There are a few hot food items like chow mein, fried rice, stir fry, pasta, soups, fries, onion rings, and crab legs. For what they market as their higher standard 'Seafood Buffet', the value is not there. And add the hour plus long lineup is definitely not worth it. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. My husband and I both agreed it did not have that weird casino buffet food aftertaste. It was fresh and everything we did get had good flavor. I had bought the Lucky Penny package that gave us discounted dinner and breakfast buffets, so we didn't pay full price, that always makes food taste better, right? We got to the dinner buffet right when they opened. There was a whole roasted pig out on the table, I have included the photo. This was the first time I have ever eaten anything like that, and WOW, it made me want to roast a pig every weekend. There were a lot of fresh options, tomato salad, corn, marinated mushrooms, just to name a few. The desserts were plentiful, with the usual suspects, like cheesecake and ice cream. We have been in several Casinos around the country, and we both agreed this one has the best food. The tables were not all mashed up on each other, so it felt open. We were able to sit right by the big windows facing the river and had a nice view to watch otters and cranes while we ate. We did get there right when they opened, so there were no lines, however, right when we were leaving there was a serious line forming at the hot foods bar. Serious enough, that had I been stuck in it, that my rating of four may be lower. The next morning we went down for breakfast and got right in and sat close to where we had the night before. Breakfast selection was skimpier but still good. They had plenty of meat and eggs out. I am not a breakfast food person, so any breakfast buffet is always going to be a, meh, for me. However, I know this going into the battle and know what I like, they had it, yogurt, fruit and boiled eggs. The pancakes looked dry, but since I didn't eat it them, I won't confirm it. They did have a poached egg with spinach that was super good. That made the whole breakfast. Overall it was a good experience and if you can get there when they have the whole roasted pig, it is worth it. read more

The food is better than most buffet restaurants, I specially enjoy their breakfast and brunch selection. This restaurant is clean, with good service, and great buffet food. If you are staying at The Hotel their is a $5 CAD per person discount if you per pay at time of check in. read more

Not worth paying $50 for the dinner. Few food selection. Roast Beef is so dry. Find somewhere else.

Woke up early and decided to have breakfast over here this morning. For $14.95 I thought it was a steal. No line up. Yay. None much selection. Boo. Just your basic breakfast items you find elsewhere - bread (white, wheat, multi), eggs benedict / eggs florentine (underneath stale English muffins), pork bacon / turkey bacon, pork sausage / turkey sausage, hash browns (crispy!), 4" pancakes, french toast, waffle (soggy!), blueberry yogurt, cheese (swiss, cheddar), cereals, and fruits with some soaked in brine to make them last longer and taste sweeter (melon, honeydew, watermelon, grapes). That's it. Oh and your drinks (coffee, tea, juice). Okay, now I covered everything. Half of these I didn't mind tasting. The other half not worth coming back for more. I could have just walked over to Twisted Fork and get a more decent breakfast for the same amount. The quality and taste you'd understand when you see hotel guests walking in with vouchers. Not really worth for paying customers. This is the breakfast buffet selection I'd expect in a 2 star place like Day's Inn or Comfort Inn or any Inn for that matter. No apologies for my unenthusiastic review. You are a casino that rakes in millions and you don't just call your restaurant an eatery, but "The Buffet", right? In fact you don't stop there at imitating Vegas places because now you're building an offshoot place called "The Hotel" just like Mandalay Bay's concept. So the comparison is an attention called to itself. And besides, why make excuses of not comparing to world-class spots. Do you want to increase your standards or just remain low and forever make excuses for your sub-standard quality because you're in Richmond and not Las Vegas? Exactly. read more

To be fully honest, I'm not a big fan of buffets. My family has always been into them, so my whole life I've gone to numerous different ones, but I could never fully get into them. I mean, I totally get the appeal - you pay X amount and get unlimited amount of food. It's a hungry person's dream. I've been to The Buffet at River Rock a handful of times now and all of my experiences have been similar. The service is quick and attentive, and by that I mean the servers come around and clear your plates fairly quickly. They have also been very helpful whenever I've had a question about the food. The food in my opinion is mediocre. My problem with buffets is that most of the time the food is sitting out for a long period of time so it's not as fresh. Yes there are heaters to keep them warm, but it's not the same. They have an assortment of salads, pastas, seafood, and mains - which I believe changes by the day or week. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are a lot of options there for you to pick from. But if I'm paying $35 + tax, I expect the food quality to be a little bit more top notch. I'm no buffet connoisseur, but in comparison to other buffets I've been to, this spot doesn't compare. However, if you do choose to come, try to grab a table by the windows and enjoy the beautiful views of the water. read more

The buffet would be a good choice for people with family in town and bonus if they like casino's. The decor is quite nice actually, and I kind of thought we would be in for a treat. It is after all, in a nice hotel (yes with a large casino in the lobby !) The casino freaks me out, but that's just me. We were there for a show in the theatre. We approached the reception for the buffet, and there was a large spinning wheel with prizes marked on it. Discounts on your meal, (which you pay in advance for), and prizes. I thought, "well, it's part of the theme" so, okay. Not really, it's more like a warning! LoL The food was pretty good, with a LOT of choice. Hot specials, a whole Chinese buffet bar, a Salad bar, and of course a desert bar. (-at which I could eat only a marshmallow), because it's all cakes and pies and a milk chocolate fountain...) sad but true. They actually have some Sugar free deserts, which is really nice, and shows that their client base would be more the over sized, diabetic type than a gluten or dairy free individual like myself. Unfortunately it's the service staff that I was least impressed with. The floor manager was okay though. Would I return? Yes, as long as I was in the mood for something akin to the cafeteria at Ikea in atmosphere. Over all it was not a good Birthday choice for my dear, but the food was good and there's nothing like a good "troughing" once in a while. read more

The Buffet - Buffets Near Me - Richmond, British Columbia

I have come to this buffet for dinner, and for breakfast, and I'm a fan only for the reason that there really is not that many buffets in the GVR. Also it is not the shabby quality of Uncle Willy's so called AYCE. I really cannot name many buffets in the city, and I must say River Rock does a good job in regards to the breakfast and the dinner. Certain nights get you certain foods as well. Coming here for the dinner portion, I remember the special of the night was a chinese roast pork with crispy skin that was served up by the chef cutting it up, and placing it on the people lining up for it. Probably one of the better roast crispy skin porks I've tasted. They also have enough servings of salad, and other meat and pasta fixings to fill your stomach. The selection is big, and they also have a nice selection of chocolate strawberry fondue that you do yourself with the chocolate fountain. A good assortment of fruits to boot. The breakfast was very good, with tons of selection, from two kinds of eggs benedict, fresh fruit, cereal choices, yogurt, sausage, eggs, many forms of bread, and service. They come by always clearing your plate, and asking what you would like to drink. If you have a casino card you get a discount off your meal too. Your not going to get Vegas style buffet, but the buffet is alright here, think about where else you would get this kind of food? read more

I'd been to the buffet a few times. As usual the salad bar and the dessert bar are pretty awesome. They have an array of fresh veggies and fruits. The desserts were not only nice to look at there were a lot of choices. When I came today, I was disappointed with the main entree. There were not many options for people like me who are don't eat pork or beef. Where is the salmon or chicken wings or the tofu or the turkey ham? The fried chicken breast was so dry and hard. All the dimsum were with pork!!! Where's shrimp or mushroom dimsum? Thank goodness there was congee with chicken which saved the day. read more

for an insanely expensive price, the quality of the food sucks. i do not wish this buffet for my worst enemey. there is absolutely nothing redeemable about the food and did not enjoy anything here. there is such a small selection and the sushi is very mushy. one out of five stars, i would rather eat out of a dumpster than eat here again read more

Avoid avoid at all costs!!!!! Terrible food .. I got sick ... We came here as it was in the river rock hotel where we stayed. Service was the only thing ok but the food itself was terrible. The cheese was rotten, my italian soup was disgusting cold and tasted old. The sushi was nasty old dried out rice fell apart .. did not taste fresh. Roast beef was dry and inedible. The salad bar was old and not fresh. The beet salad was rotten.. everything served was cold and stale. The hot side buffet tasted watered down and everything was bad and nasty. What should have been hot was cold and what should have been fresh and cold was old and warm. We went on a Saturday night which was supposed to be a seafood buffet but there was nothing seafood.. just nasty undercooked stale pasta and the sauce was clumpy from a jar ...I wish I read the reviews beforehand. I got very sick and unfortunately I threw up.. I had the manager come up to me to ask why I was not happy which I explained to him that the food was not good and he just didn't care... he was confused and told me I was the only one to complain about how terrible the food was. My whole night was ruined will never come back here again not even if someone paid me. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! I can't believe we paid over 80$ for this garbage! I felt ripped off and cheated .. it was like a I was a homeless person going into the dumpster to pick out scraps ... seriously avoid at all cost! Saveeee your money read more

First time to a buffet in Canada and I was little worried by some of the other reviews, however I am happy to report I thought the buffet was better than average. I have been to many casino buffets, including numerous ones in Las Vegas. While it isn't the same caliber at the higher end options in Vegas, The Buffet is by no means lower quality either. I went on Saturday evening which was seafood themed. No disappointment to me because there was Lobster, shrimp, mussels, calms all served cold but had warm drawn butter was near by. For non seafood lovers, like my husband, they had carving station with lamb and prime rib. The mushroom rice was light and fluffy. Everyone especially enjoyed the potato cheddar perogies. There was also a nice dessert selection. I thought the price wasn't all the bad. We received excellent attentive service. My only complaint is more about the other patrons pushing and shoving once the doors opened. I think employees could do a better job of corralling customers so that people can walk by without having to constantly say excuse me. read more

The size of the buffet here pales here in comparison to most of the buffets I've been to and the food selection is left to be desired. For the amount of almost $40 per person during dinner I was totally expecting more especially with the food quality and options. The quality isn't much above eating at OCB and the selection isn't much better either. The snow crab legs were really the only items worth getting your money's worth and they didn't even taste all that fresh. The roast beef was ok, but they were a bit overcooked for my taste and the beef quality was not the best. The meat was kind of chewy and not what I was used to eating with nice tender cuts. Some of the items on the buffet were just plain gross. They had garlic pork spareribs that were just inedible with too much batter and no meat plus they were hard as a rock. The fish dishes were some farm raised fish that I wouldn't even touch and also didn't look good either. The couple redeeming items were the sushi which were made fresh and which I really enjoyed. The California rolls were some of the best I have ever had and made me want to go for more after my first plate. The other item to go back for were the desserts which had quite a few options. They had good flavor with my favorite being the small cheesecake bites with compote. The fresh fruits were a disaster as they tasted mushy after they had been cut up into pieces and they didn't have any taste either. I did like that they had a newer tech soda machine where you can make your selection on a touch screen and they had many varieties to choose from. The service was great as they cleared our plates quickly after we finished eating and the place was kept very clean. This buffet could be so much better as they have a great view of the river as you are dining and for the price it just wasn't worth it. If I could choose this and Vegas for the price, I would choose Vegas every time. read more

I don't recommend going to this buffet. If you are gambling at the River Rock, it may be fine for a bite but don't make this a destination by any means. Note: I am not typically a huge lover of buffets, but I was pretty excited when I read that they do fresh sushi and seafood. The sushi was pretty low quality for Vancouver, and the only other seafood I saw were some prawns and mussels. I saw an ad that featured crab legs, and was disappointed they didn't have any. I was also surprised by the quality of the other entrées. The prime rib was chewy, and wasn't carved properly so I was given a huge chunk of fat. There were some Chinese dishes, such as steamed basa in black bean sauce that were alright at best, but super oily. I gave up and tried the salad bar. The spinach was old and wilted, and the only other vegetables were cucumbers, beets and carrots. Desert was alright if you're into jello and packaged cheesecake. Overall, a mediocre at best experience. Would rather eat BC Ferrie's buffet any day! read more

Been here many time ms over the past few years and recent visit last Saturday is the worse experience ever. Selections were limited on a Saturday night conpared to previous visits. The buffet at the river rock was not Near as good as it used to be a year ago. You used to get the crab included with the Friday night buffet. Likely won't do the buffet there again. read more

Absolutely hands down the biggest buffet rip off we have ever experienced. We spent $80 (2 people) for the seafood night, expecting crab. Once in we found that we needed to pay an additional $40 to get crab. That's $120! People around us were just as unhappy, making comments and staring at others with looks of disappointment. The food was extremely limited, overcooked, bland, and honestly some of it made us gag. I was embarrassed until I witnessed a man at the table text to us struggling to swallow his food as well. I unfortunately was forced to spit my food into a napkin, my eyes watering. The staff came by once to clear table of plates and asked how things were as she walked away, not giving me the time of day. This forced me to get up and track down another staff member to get a new fork. I strongly recommend reconsidering this buffet. Sometimes I forget to read reviews and this is the price I pay. read more

Three of us went Saturday August 23rd. $34 per individual with the seniors discount. Several stations were low or empty. No table service for soft drinks anymore. I might have just dropped in at a fantastic evening, but HELLO Prime RIb and Seafood night! Even though we were told that a table for two will take 45 mins, it didn't. Within 5 mins, we were called in. It was also a Monday, the day before Christmas Eve. So, it resembled a Friday - very, very packed! My first stop was the Prime Rib station. I scouted out the entire buffet and aimed for the highlights. Holy King Crab legs. I could have just filled up on those! The prawns, oh, the prawns. Let's just say you'll never want for prawns ever again. That's quite impossible, but you get the picture. The guy slicing the Prime Rib was a little stingy. If you're going to just carve the Prime RIb, well then, I'm just going to make more trips to your station, bucko. So, why don't you just give me what I want and I will leave you alone for the rest of the night? I'm serious about my Prime Rib. It was also cooked to a delicious Medium Rare. I didn't bother putting any sauces on it, as it was already seasoned strongly with peppercorn. Just the BEST! After my main feast, I made for the dessert stations. There was this heavenly Christmas log dessert made of chocolate mousse and, wait for it... cheesecake right down the middle! It was fantastic. I had to have two generous portions. Heads up: they have an ice-cream machine. Enough said. The wines were also very well priced and portioned. For $7, it comes in a FULL glass. I was a happy camper. It goes without saying that I will come back in a heart beat! read more

Far from a "Las Vegas" experience. The breakfast buffet was limited in choice, dried out food, not pleasing really at all. The decor was more like a Denny's. The sausages looked barely cooked. The eggs too. Honestly very low quality. Too bad. Not sure how they got a 4-Diamond resort stamp from what I read. The hotel rooms were not all that great either. Getting drinks in the casino was nearly impossible. The reward card redemption was poor in using it for anything but their raffle that you have to be there to get. Tough when you are an out of towner. Wouldn't come back. $21 to park your car in valet. No deals here. Go somewhere else and come use the casino and self serve park. read more

I had an opportunity to try this buffet and I was anxious to do so because personally i love buffets but you should eat smart. Check the buffet and do a once over of ALL the items before engaging into battle :). I was ok with the selection. It was packed with people and we went on a Saturday night. I was disappointed in the quality of the food. There was the salad station, the asian food section, the sushi station, the Prime Rib station, and a station i don't even know how to describe, it had some curry chicken, some salmon and some yorkshire pudding and seafood as well. What the heck? Out of all the food I had. I enjoyed the Prime Rib with the delicious au jus. The sushi was ok. The salads were on par for standard salads. Of course there were alaskan king crab legs but I didn't indulge. One thing I should mention, while our server Kim was a nice person, she was a terrible server. We had to help ourselves to the water, we had to ask for coffee and tea, she never really greeted us to begin with. She attended to the table next to us more than us, which was never. She was flustered the entire time. She dropped the empty pitcher and she looked like she didn't enjoy what she was doing at all. Too bad. I was going to tip her well but she didn't deserve any tip even though we left a 10% tip just because. I will not be going back. It is definitely not worth 29.95/person for dinner. I'd say maybe $15.00/person and I am being generous. read more

This past Saturday night was the usual, good! The main selection was sushi, clams, mussels, shrimp, prime rib & lamb. I went here for 2015 Mother's day dinner with a big party of 10 to 12 people. Waited one hour and half. Oh boy, if you think you are getting a good buffet be warned. Everything was dry and bland to the taste. Lobster dry. Shrimp in water and not properly presented. Kid's menu horrible and cheap. Hot dogs, onion rings and corn dog for the kids. Dessert looks nice but I did not like it. Taste awful. If you want a buffet go to the Grand Villa Casino buffet in Burnaby. Lot better than here at River Rock. You want an excellent buffet , go to an all inclusive resort in Mexico. You won't be disappointed there. For the price we paid, you could of got two nights stay and all the meals you want at an all inclusive resort. Sorry to be hard, but customers need to be aware. Service is lousy as well. Attendants just want to clean the tables and not care too much about the customers. Its been a whole month and more and I am still so upset by this meal. Buffet meal too expensive. Not even worth $9.99. Meal awful. Management pay attention. Won't be back. Desmond L. read more

First and foremost, if you're going into this buffet restaurant expecting it to resemble those you'd find in Las Vegas, think again. I understand that the resort and theater with the noise and lights of the casino are intriguing but don't let it set you up for disappointment. It took my friends and I (about the 7 of us) a little over 30 minutes to be seated. The staff kept assuring us that the wait was only another 10 minutes but, of course, that line was used on us multiple times. The interior was clean and spacious and the servers were very courteous and on top of removing our dirty dishes. The buffet offers a wide variety of food. To be brief, there's an extensive salad bar, basic sushi, pasta, a roast, seasonal vegetables, soups, Chinese food and dessert. I have no complaints about the salad choices or the sushi as the rice was surprisingly well seasoned and cooked. The roast was a medium rare, not overcooked and the gravy with Yorkshire pudding was fitting. The pasta, Chinese-style fried noodles, fried rice and dim sum, however, looked and tasted like left over take-out food. They were dry, flavourless and unappetizing. One might argue that I didn't have to eat from them but consider this: if there was a higher standard at the buffet, perhaps it would be rightful to replace the dish after a certain amount of time, rather than leaving it there to sit until it's been consumed. In addition, the french onion soup tasted like quality one would be able to find by opening a can. Dessert selection consisted of fruits and various mousses, cakes and self-serve vanilla ice cream. I wouldn't consider them of the best quality but suitable enough to round off your meal. Having taken everything into account, paying a little over $35 per person for such a meal was a little steep so I do advise you to keep your expectations low. read more

Ate there this morning at 11:30am sharp, when it opens for lunch. It was pretty good, but I was disappointed that they only had one roast beef and neither a bird nor a pork etc.. Pricey for a casino, but well worth it if you like shrimp and crab legs (which I don't). Ambience is good, because of the floor to ceiling windows, and service is spot on. However, the floorplan was much like a cafeteria and nondescript compared with the rest of the beautiful resort. 3.5 stars because I'm in a good mood. read more

I am writing to inform you how disappointed we were on our last visit to the River Rock Buffet. I mulled over whether I should write this review or not and finally I decided to get it off my chest and let you know of the horrible dining experience we have had: Our visit took place on 10/10 2015, which happened to be my wife's birthday Unfavorable situation as follows: 1- the men's toilet on the restaurant floor was totally unclean, with urine on the toilet seats, on the floor and generally disgusting. I had to go and use the Toilet on the main floor. (That's how disgusting the place was) 2- the buffet menu was despicable, with a very small selection of tasteless under-cooked or overcooked food...No roast beef, no crabs, no sea food. The ham was dry, falling apart. and hard to chew. 3- the food tasted stale and had no flavor of any sort. It appeared as if the food was prepared on an online production environment with no thought or culinary art given to it. I've had better airline food. 4- The sushi Bar was the poorest I have ever seen, with a very small selection of Sashimi (Salmon and Tuna were the only two items available), the rice sushi was badly executed. 5- the staff hardly spoke any English 6- the salad bar was miserable and anemic. Looked totally uninviting 7- the desserts were totally bad....it catered mainly to an Asian palate ...no sweetness in the offerings...just plain tasteless. (Frankly, it all tasted the same) 8- the place looked like a Bazaar or an untidy market place...no order, dirty and disorganized. I must say, it was a total disappointment. read more

Okay, so once upon a time there was this girl who was hungry, (a.k.a. Me ). So this hungry chick, forced her family to come with her to this Casino buffet place. $30 ish per person. And they like ate $100 each. Piece of crab leg flew onto her plate by the ppl next to her table. How rude. They said sorry. How nice. Lots of selection, she sat by the window, even though she had her back to it, it was alright because she knew the view was still there. Some notes she took: 1.Decent Buffet. 2. Lots of selection. 3. Service is great, super duper friendly peeps. She also wore her fat pants, and had no shame in getting 1 of every kind of dessert except sugarless cookies. Eww. She walked her flight attendant walk with her 2 plates of dessert. I forget how to spell desert or dessert or dessssssssert..... The End. read more

River Rock casino portrays themselves as a high rollers casino for the niche crowd. Hotel rooms start at $300 per night and up. I'm not here to talk about the hotel but the buffet at the River Rock casino. We arrived at 6:00p and waited in line for 45 minutes before being seated. I walked around the buffet counter to what foods were available. This is a snip from the River Rock casino's website - Enjoy endless options, from pasta and Chef's choice of roast carvings, seafood dishes, sushi, salads and more. Like all other buffets they offer the standard fare - roast beef, salad bar and pasta dishes. I started off with cold shrimp, clams and mussels. The cocktail sauce was nowhere to be found by the cold seafood. Another customer told us the cocktail sauce was located at salad cart where the salad dressings and ketchup was located. Odd place. The texture of the shrimp was dry and tasteless but the backs of all the shrimps were cut so it's easier to peel the shell off. The cold mussels and clams was a nice touch. They did offer sushi......only maki rolls. Yes only simple maki rolls - California rolls, lettuce and roast beef maki rolls. Yup that's it! The roast beef must have been left over roast beef from the night before. It was super dry and difficult to swallow. The roast beef was acceptable. The cuts were inconsistently cooked...perhaps it was the heat lamp over the carving tray. Horse radish and seeded mustard condiments were nice touch although the horse radish was a bit too vinegary. I had what was described as rock fish cooked in a white sauce. I only had once piece as it was SUPER dry even with the white sauce. I've never been much of a dessert person but I did find the flavors of the dessert I had was not well balanced. The cranberry topping on the mouse was SUPER SOUR. The River Casino also describes their buffet as "Our dishes are inspired by the best of West Coast cuisine, with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients". As stated earlier.....it's your typical dishes you find at any other buffets. Food court food would've better in this case. By the way, there is NOTHING at the buffet which I found would be West Coast cuisine. In fact I found the Maki a disgrace to sushi. Lettuce maki roll? Roast beef maki roll? They should've also maki maki rolls with potato chips, chocolates, etc. ....all the good stuff not used to make maki. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY NOT! It's not worth the $35 we paid per person. Don't let the River Rock casino's advertising fool you! The best part of the meal was the FREE parking! read more

At the top of the River Rock hotel, opposite of the casino side. Nice balcony area with views of the casino building and the river. Since the River rock is in the path of the landing approach for the airport, we had airplanes about 150 yards over our heads. Why is everyone hating on the buffet? Actually, I found it pretty great for veggies like me (lots of salads, lots of mashed potatoes!). And even though - at $30 - it was a little pricey for a small (and picky) eater, I made sure my boyfriend went back for second, third and - yes - fourth helpings to render the $60 we spent in total worth it. The dessert line was pretty picked over by the time we got there (with no signs of being replenished at 10 o'clock at night), but we were so stuffed after dinner it wasn't a biggie. (OK, so I hit it big at the roulette table down in the casino after we ate - but I swear that didn't colour my review of the restaurant in any way!) read more

The line up for the hot items is nuts, you're literally in line for 15 minutes. The choice of food is OK. The prime rib is really good and so is the Filipino roasted pig. The desserts SUCK! It wasn't fresh...so sad cause I saved all my calories for OK desserts :( Compared to the buffets in California and in Las Vegas, this just doesn't compare...but pretty good for Vancouver. The Casino is pretty but doesn't give true excitement like Las Vegas. It's pretty convenient for out of towners from YVR to the casino since the Sky train has a drop off in front of the casino. This place will be busy for the upcoming Olympics in Feb! :) read more

Compared with US buffets is very expensive for a place that small. There's only 5-6 islands including desserts. The food is good but it could be more variation. The best part of it is that you can eat all the lobster that you want and the price includes pop, juice and coffee. read more

The Buffet - The dessert's island - Buffets Near Me - Richmond, British Columbia

Ive been here a fair amount of times. and this place has it all.. Shows, Gambling, drunk people, you name it! and there's not that many buffets in Richmond so i was pretty stoked about The Buffet here at River Rock. Just like any other Buffet establishment. it had a Salad bar with a ton of different items, an entree section with all sorts of different eats: Mashed potatoes, Chicken, pasta, roast beef, fish, corn, gravy, ... ..they even have a separate Asian section with dim sum, chow mein, u know.. typical Asian cuisine, but i found the asian food to be WAY too greasy! i felt i was eating oil and fat... not a good feeling in my tummy this happend not one but 3 times ive been here. I know what your thinking. "Fritz if you thought the food was too greasy, why did you eat it over and over again" ...... Simple answer IM ASIAN! i can't help it.....AND im fat... :( also the roast beef was hella dry as well and lacked flavor. oh man! I ended up just eating sushi the rest of the night The Dessert wasn't anything special, with the exception of the chocolate fountain and marshmallows ;) It had the typical Cakes, Tirimisu, chocolate cakes, cream puffs, bread pudding, and even items with no sugar. Overall: this place was ok. not great but ok. and yes i would come back but only on occasions like Valentines day, Mothers day, Birthdays, or if i get a good hand in poker *wink* ... k im done read more

I don't know why you'd compare this buffet to a buffet in Vegas. It's not Vegas guys, it's Richmond (insert LOL here). I had family staying here, so I met them for the breakfast buffet. I was surprised at how crispy the bacon stayed and how yummy their egg frittata was. I pretty much liked everything I tried here. It is a buffet, and the food *does* sit out, so I mean there's that. It's good for what you can get and I'd come back again to have the breakfast.. and maybe the lunch or dinner. Plus, it had a nice view of the river too.. read more

What do you expect from this place? It's a casino buffet. Granted, a nice casino, but it's still a buffet. They do their best, but it's not going to be gormet food every time you go up. They do a good job of keeping all food items fresh and tasty looking. There's something for everyone, as is the case with most buffets. It's a great place to go if you're already at the casino, or with a group of friends. I eat here a lot with my family because no one can ever decide on what type of place they'd like to go to. I love it when they have the fresh stations. They switch it around often, but I have seen a taco as well as greek station, with a cook manning it and helping you dress your plate or heats up your pita or taco. Shaweet. They also have pretty good, yet kind of bland Chinese food. They didn't used to have condiments, including ketchup and soy sauce, but they've remedied that now. The desserts are always hit or miss. Maybe it's because I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I never go gaga over the desserts. The price is pretty expensive, and if you happen to go on a special night, like a holiday, they jack up the price a lot. Best to go during the week for dinner. read more
