    Dessert and coffee at 10pm
    Jody D.

This is a bigger inside the casino hotel in Desserts were great, not a lot of choices considering $49.99 per person Canadian dollars. The food was decent, it had a salad bar, macaroni, Chinese stir fry and roast beef. It is great when you are hungry, but if you are looking for seafood items, there only the cold dish clams, cocktail shrimp, mussels and Chinese steam fish. It does come with non alcoholic beverages and coffee- free refills. Would I go back? If I am hungry and don't want to go outside of the hotel. Sure!

For the price you pay VS the food and selection you get doesn't justify it for me. Went here for the brunch buffet on Easter Sunday. There was little selection and the food was mediocre. The Ham was dry and the roast beef was tough. The chow mein was overcooked. As I normally indulge in a buffet, this one I didn't even go for seconds. I don't even have pictures to with this post. Sorry, I don't personally recommend.

I don't know much else to add to the reviews other than the usual disdain for the high price. This is strictly against the pricing and food offered and not at the staff. The staff were VERY kind to our family and through all our interactions of needing service - they deserve a 5/5 so please understand that. The food is all sort of satisfactory and done "well" but because of the price tag slapped onto it - it falls a bit short. I will say, I was most impressed with the sushi chef (from Japan) and that the sushi was yummy! The quality may be because of what river rock is able to import, of course. At $50 a person, it's difficult to really stomach it all. I understand there is a "variety of foods" but I just don't know what else to add to its value. That being said - I know there are many people that love coming here and celebrating special occasions! So if that is your fancy for a group buffet where everyone can go ham on their favourites then so be it and enjoy! There are washrooms inside the space which are MUCH cleaner than the casino ones so head there first before leaving if you're going to play after your meal.

The times be changing. It wasn't all that long ago that I would have been super hyped to visit The Buffet at River Rock. However, the pandemic has certainly set this buffet back. Years ago, dungeness crab was included. Then it was an add-on for a fixed price. Now? Nowhere to be seen. A sad day for me since I love me some crab. To be clear, not everything went south. The staff tends to be pretty awesome here. Upbeat and full of life. While the selection of food items isn't as large as it once was, the quality is pretty darn good. Oh and the Pepsi soda dispenser is great since it means your drinks are included. Lineups here can be crazy and even more so for special occasions. Get here early and be prepared to hang out and for any kids with you to ask, "Do you have any games on your phone?"

I really hope people don't think this place is actually good. Typically you get excited for the variety that casino buffets offer, but stepping in here is completely the opposite. Came in for Christmas Eve lunch (charged higher prices for the holiday) and was surprised at how low class everything is. There's a large mix of everything from simple breakfast, Chinese, American, to basic sushi and Indian. There's a sliced meat and made to order omelette station which were passable. Most of the buffet items were just tasteless and infrequently replaced. Things weren't cold, but barely lukewarm and congealing on itself. There was crab legs at least, but small ?dungeness ones. The dessert section is pretty large in variety, but can't make up for the subpar hot food section. The only thing worthwhile mentioning is the service. Otherwise save yourself a trip, because any other standard buffet could be way better.

It's pretty expensive. Most food were delicious. Roast beef was hard to chew. Amazing service, our server Reque was friendly and was always ready to serve water, tea and coffee we requested. Ambiance was pretty chill. We were there at 5PM so there was not many people.

Hmmmmm. I think I am spoilt / jaded. After spending so much time in Vegas, and sampling a fair number of buffets - this one pales in comparison! It was over priced ( over 60 for 2 plus 15 for 2 drinks) The food selection left much to be desired, and what I did have wasn't good. It was supposed to be a Taste of Korea - but what was there wasn't much at all. Sea food pancake was decent - but not as good as the real thing. Other then that. There wasn't anything that appealed on that section. Skipped the meager salad bar. The ham was good but fatty, roasted potatoes were dried out, cabbage rolls disgusting, crab legs skinny and hard to get anything out of. Desert was typical - mini cheese cakes ( best item there ) no ice cream or frozen yogurt. Best thing about it was the view. Skip this place it's not worth it !

When I was walked in I was greeted by two lovely host that coat checked my jacket. The server then showed me to my seat before I set off for the Buffet. And boy was the food good! They had the biggest garlic butter prawns I have ever seen along with Turkey, Schnitzel, a sushi bar and the tastiest icecream I have ever had. I could not believe how good this buffet was. The bartender even told me to go after the sushi before they run out and I'm glad about that tip because it was delicious! This was pretty much a 5 star review. I'm only deducting 1 star because someone flooded the bathroom mid show (I was here for Kings of Leon) and had to go all the way to level 3 for the nearest mens washroom which was a shame. But otherwise this lounge was awesome!

The food was as good as most upscale restaurants I have been to. There are so many options you must be selective or you may eat your weight in food. All the servers were attentive and friendly and it seemed they were always right there as soon as I thought about grabbing another drink. Drink prices are comparable with the regular admission but they treat you like people and give you a glass. The selection is a step up as well and cocktails are available. Sat at the bar seats at the top of the section and it was not cramped and we have a table for drinks and snacks. Again the servers were always around during the show. Would recommend this to anyone who has the chance.

Unfortunately, being Good Friday, the staff couldn't accept it because the coupon excludes holidays. Always read the fine print on your coupons, folks! We went in anyways and paid regular price with the small encore loyalty card member discount. There was a very short queue to get in at the time we came. The dining area was busy and only a couple tables were vacant. Most of the food at the buffet tasted average. A few were better than expected, and some things were pretty bad. I'll go over the ones I tasted. The fish pollock and prawns with butter sauce was kind of bland. The sauce added no flavor at all. It did not have the frozen seafood taste some buffets places have, at least. It was OK. The Korean beef and broccoli was alright too. Not much flavor, again. Their sweet and sour pork wasn't that good mostly because of lack of flavor and it was too dry. I came back to the buffet counter a second time and it tasted a little better when they replenished the pork with more sauce. But their pulled pork and chili beans was better than expected. It was a good mix of pork and beans and it was tasty. I got seconds of that. The deep fry veg was straight up disgusting. My friend thought it was mushy artichokes. It had a weird aftertaste too. It looked tasty though. There was teriyaki chicken legs but it was mislabeled as beef lasagna at the counter. The chicken legs was better than expected because the skin was crispy and the rub they used was somewhat tasty. The creamy pesto chicken ravioli was too dry and lacked flavor. You'd have to take extra time at the buffet counter to scoop up the little bit of sauce left for it to taste any better. The stir fried snap peas were alright. They were sweet and freshly cooked and was a good addition of greens on my plate. The stir fried veggie spring roll tasted alright. Not much veggies inside but they had plum sauce on the side for added flavor. The broccoli slaw was actually not bad at all. It was fresh and it had ample amount of dressing. The cake slices were fresh and not stale like some buffets tend to give. Their chocolate cakes tasted alright. But the coffee cake and the cookies tasted kinda bad. I did like their lemon cake, though. Choices of fruit were sliced up cantaloupes, grapes, and peelable oranges. Don't bother with the ice cream. It's bad. I think they used cheaper ingredients for the ice cream machine mix because it didn't taste good at all. They had toppings like sprinkles, marshmallows, and cookie crumbs. The marshmallows were VERY stale. I wouldn't be surprised if it was out there since yesterday. One thing they did right is the choice of soft drinks. They used a touch screen coca cola freestyle machine with many choices of syrup flavors. The Sprite orange drink tasted great. Another thing they did right is keeping the dining area spotless. They sprayed the tables regularly with a disinfectant cleaner after customers left. Staff were very fast in taking the used dinner plates tables. They took my plates almost immediately after I left my table to grab more food. One staff member was very apologetic for taking my unfinished drink off the table when i was gone, haha. 3 out of 5 stars based on this visit. I didn't deeply regret eating here because most of the food here were passable in terms of quality.

A cash prize was offered as well. My friend was lucky enough to win a 2 for 1 coupon for Grand Villa's buffet and invited me over to try it out. Lucky me. I haven't visited Grand Villa Casino's Buffet in about 5 years so I was interested to see if anything changed since then. When we approached the entrance, there was no line up and there were plenty of seats available in the buffet. This was around 4pm on a Sunday. I took a glance at the food available for the day and it looked decent but nothing stood out, unfortunately. Here's a rundown of everything they offered that day. For soups they got vegetarian chili and chicken gumbo. The chicken gumbo was not good and my friend couldn't finish it. Just avoid the soups. For salads, they got romaine, kale, macaroni, coleslaw, and potato. I tried a bit of the kale and the macaroni salads and it was surprisingly tasty. For mains they got corn on the cob, corn bread, waffles, fried chicken, baked beans, mac and cheese, beef brisket, bbq ribs, and fried basa fish. The corn bread was pretty bland. It needs more flavor. The fried chicken is like the chicken you would buy at a superstore or walmart. Very average. It was drier than I preferred. The breaded skin was kinda tasteless. Worse than KFC. The mac and cheese was actually good. Very cheesy, tasty, and looked pretty yummy. The BBQ ribs were alright. It had very little meat on it. The sauce was tastier than I expected. The basa fried fish is nothing to write home about. Very average. It didn't have much flavor and tasted like the fish you would buy in the supermarket frozen dinner food section and pop it in the oven. The beef brisket was too tough, dry, and lacked flavor. Needs more seasoning. I think it was a tad overcooked. At the carving station, they had roast beef. It's not bad at all! The beef did not have any fat and it was tender and not dry. You can try it with dijon mustard or demi-glace sauce. I liked it with the dijon mustard. For pop, they got a coca cola freestyle machine with literally dozens of options of different types of pop. Coke, Barqs, Sprite, Fanta, and more. I have no complaints about the drinks. For dessert, they got mini donuts, double chocolate cake with chocolate icing and flakes on top, Red Velvet cake, chocolate brownies, and a fruit platter. They also have ice cream with a small selection of toppings. The mini donuts were sweet and tasty. They appear to be freshly baked. I liked the chocolate brownies a lot. It wasn't overly sweet but it was tasty. The chocolate cake was decent. It was a tad too sweet and tasted like an average chocolate cake overall. The red velvet cake was very average tasting as well. My friend didn't like the chocolate ice cream at all and could not finish it after taking a bite. There might have been a few more desserts and drinks available that I missed but I didn't take a good look. Besides the average quality food, the service by the wait staff and the dining area was actually better than other restaurants. The wait staff took away our plates very quickly after we were done with them. They were friendly and fast when we entered the restaurant and during our visit. I have no complaints about the service. The dining area was spacious and clean. The chairs had thick pillow cushions on them so it was better than an average dining chair. They had large windows that let the sunlight in. The decor was minimal but nicer than an average family restaurant. Overall, at the regular price of $33.99 per person, I would hesitate to recommend Grand Villa's Casino Buffet to anybody for the quality of the food that's offered. It really needs improvement. The chefs need to replace what it has now with better than average tasting food to ask for that price. I wouldn't think of going again unless i scored a 2 for 1 coupon because there are plenty of restaurants where your $34 can be better spent. 2.5 out of 5 stars rounded up to 3 stars since yelp doesn't do half stars.
