    Bbq pork

Juiciest char siu pork I've ever had. No frills and fast service. 5 minute wait on a Friday at lunch time. Top tier experience. Soy sauce chicken was also super flavorful, but you gotta come for the pork.

This was the first place we went to in Vancouver and it didn't disappoint. Located in a parking structure, the location can be slightly difficult to find, but parking is actually easy. There are separate lines for takeout and dine in. We got the #6 and #8 combos. The roast and bbq pork were great and I liked the roast duck a lot as well. Flavor and crunch were good and no need to add salt. Services was quick and the noisy bustle inside reminded me of restaurants in Asia. Cash or debit only though, so come prepared.

Another visit to Vancouver means another visit to HK BBQ Master. Food is delicious as always, we stopped by around 5:30pm on a Monday and apparently got the last bit of soup available. Being the last batch, we got to see some of the ingredients like pear and white mushroom ear that we didn't know were part of the base for the soup. The staff seem to have gotten friendlier over the years, which is a nice bonus. Cash only just as a reminder to any newcomers!

Cash only, no frills shop with THE best HK BBQ I've ever had. Don't go expecting great ambience or service -- it's a hustle and bustle, hole-in-the-wall where you're here just for the good food. And trust me -- it's good and the master really is the master of B.B.Q. here. There's a reason why the menu is so small/catered to what they truly excel in. The soy sauce chicken was moist and the taste of soy sauce had penetrated through not only to the skin but to the meat. With a side of the ginger scallion oil and the chili oil -- perfection! My husband astutely pointed out that the scallion garnish was also seasoned with salt, the perfect topping to the perfect plate. The BBQ pork was the star and crowd favorite of the night. We got half lean and half fatty cuts, expecting the leaner cuts to be on the dryer and tougher side as I had experienced in the past eating HK BBQ but I was shocked that even the lean pieces were tender and juicy. Only downsides were having to pay extra for ginger scallion oil and the chili oil but I honestly did not mind after that delicious BBQ experience. If you are ever in the Vancouver area, highly recommend making your way down to Richmond to try this place out. You can dine in (although place is rather small so if you have a large group better to split up) or you can do take out in a separate line. I'm disappointed that I don't have B.B.Q. like this back at home but props to HK BBQ master!

HK BBQ master has a very simple menu: roasted pork, soy sauce chicken, bbq duck, sautéed chicken , bbq pork. All these come with rice. You can get single bbq item or a combination. The bbq items are so good. I myself get confused which one to get each time I'm here. The food comes quick and fast after you order. The kitchen is quick, chop up the item you choose and immediately placed over rice. You may dine in or take it out to go. This place is only cash, they accept also US dollars. Simple place, not fancy. There are 2 lines, one for take out and one for dining. There is always a line but goes by quick. Try this place, so good very good! Love this place and I make sure to visit this place when I'm visiting Vancouver. It is located in Richmond next to Canada place. The restaurant is in the parking lot, you'll see a line in front of it.

One of my favorite places to go to when I am in Richmond. I haven't been here for awhile and it still is busy as usual. The nice thing is that I already know what to order and the food comes out pretty quick. We ordered a couple of the combo plates to make sure that we got each of the meats. The bbq pork and roast pork here is just one of the best I've had. The place is still pretty small and you pretty much eat your food quickly and then leave.

Despite the unassuming nature of their mobile pickup menu photos, the HK BBQ Master 3 items on rice plate is extremely solid and well-packaged. The rice to meat ratio is better than expected with the scallion oil on the soya chicken and the general soy sauce providing flavor to the rice. The steamed vegetables are also great!

Wow. This place has some great cuts of bbq. The flavor, tenderness, just the overall quality of the bbq is near perfect! I came through the takeaway line which moved extremely quickly; there's a separate line for dine in and it looked like quite a wait (dinner hours). It was pretty noisy inside but nothing unexpected from an Asian restaurant. The honey bbq pork was sweet with the perfect balance of the smoky bbq flavor, and the crispy pork was smoky, and so crispy on top, I really enjoyed both and couldn't decide which one I liked more. We ended up across the street to get some woven rice vermicelli noodles to pair with our bbq. It can get pretty busy here on the weekend as out of towners and people throwing parties do come in first thing when they open to purchase.

Cash only so they can properly money launder which you know is gonna be a fire Chinese spot. Uncle smoking in the back so you know it's about to be gassed. Heads up cash only! Bulk approved Pro: char siu pretty fatty but needs more time marinating. Siu yuk crunchier than any potato chips. But it ain't better than kau kau iykiyk

Park In the parking lot because the entrance is in there CASH ONLY. US dollars accepted but ask for conversion rate set by restaurant Bbq pork is tender and had a sweetness in the sauce, very good Duck and roast pork were tasty too, not overly oily like some places can be. Vegetable dish not very seasoned or salted, kinda bland. There's a bottle of sauce on your table if you want extra flavor! Food comes out LIGHTNING fast. The auntie servers are pretty friendly and courteous. So efficient, wave someone down if they don't see you're done and need the check. GET IN. Eat. GET OUT. Give up your table. Be courteous Don't sit around Largest tables are for FOUR PEOPLE only. No more than that Saturday 5pm the takeout line was longer than the dine in line Milk tea $3.50, not bad

So glad I got to try this place's roast meats on their last day before they go on vacation for a few weeks! They were sold out of cha siu when we went later in the day so we got the roast pig and roast duck over rice combo and it was so delicious. The skin on the roast pig was still crispy and the meat to fat ratio was perfect. They actually give you big pieces of roast duck meat, not just bones, and a huge duck leg as well!! Delicious! It's a bit hidden since it's located in a parking lot but everyone knows of its existence so there will inevitably be a line at all times. Two entrances: the one on the left is for dine-in, the one on the right is for take-out. Service was surprisingly quick and friendly. Cash only!

Something so simple is sooo delicious! Not sure what they do or how they prepare their meats but this BBQ Pork and Roast Pork rice bowl was too good. The BBQ Pork was tender, juicy, with he right amount of fattiness and leanness in each piece. The roast pork had such crispy skin (not too crispy like some places where I feel I can lose a tooth eating) and each piece was so well deboned. A must stop each time I visit.

She wanted to go to Kirin. Plenty of parking in the mall. Hostess greeted and seated us promptly. Restaurant was busy but not crazy. This was at 10am on a Thursday. Waiters were attentive. Usual table service was in place. Took our order and food came out at acceptable pace. When we were done, they politely boxed up the leftovers and we paid our bill. So service was on point. The food we ordered came out hot. The staples that I order to test was hargow, suimai and pai gwut(spareribs). All 3 dishes in general were good.....the hargow could have used an extra minute or 2 in the steamer. The suimai was very good. I tasted every ingredient in this dish. Usually it is just a complete mix and you can't discern the different flavors. They tried something different with the cheongfun by adding pieces of Chinese donut to the roll. I personally think it didn't add much to the dish, taste or texture wise. I did like the pea shoots with shrimp. I think it is a good combo. All in all a good dimsum. I also noticed they did not charge us a tea service. The cost of the food is comparable with other restaurants at this level. Yes come on a date or impress business clients/boss or family celebrations.

On a typical Sunday evening, the restaurant is usually fully occupied, but my friend had thoughtfully made a reservation a week in advance, so our table for five was ready upon arrival. As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, with good airflow thanks to the wide-open front entrance facing the parkade. The front desk receptionist greeted us cordially, and we were escorted to a cozy table in a comfortable location -- not too close to the washrooms, which I appreciated. Our meal began with the Kirin Special Assorted Cold Appetizer, followed by Crab Meat, Dried Scallops, and Fish Maw Soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was delicious, with a generous portion that could easily have served eight people. We also enjoyed Pea Tips Braised with Bean Curd and Assorted Mushrooms in Consommé, Marinated Free-Range Crispy Skin Chicken, Fillet of Cod Sautéed with Seasonal Vegetables, and Live Crab in Consommé with Ginger and Green Onion, served with E-fu Noodles. Overall, the quality and taste of every entrée were excellent. Service was top-notch -- tea and hot water were refilled constantly, bones and used plates were replaced promptly, and the servers were friendly and engaging throughout the evening. My friend and his family have apparently been regulars at this location for over two decades, which likely contributed to the exceptional attentiveness we received. However, one aspect of the experience genuinely disturbed me. All servers, including the captains, continued to wear masks at all times. While this practice was understandable two years ago, now -- five years after the onset of the pandemic, with COVID-19 managed similarly to other seasonal respiratory illnesses -- the continued universal masking in a fine-dining environment feels unnecessary and detracts from the overall guest experience. Fine dining, in my view as an avid foodie, is built on human connection, hospitality, and personal interaction. Masks create a more impersonal, almost clinical atmosphere. In a well-ventilated space like this, the environmental risk does not seem to justify the visual and social trade-off. Rather than providing reassurance, the persistent masking may unintentionally signal that the environment is unsafe or that management is out of step with current provincial health guidelines, where masking is now a personal choice rather than a mandate. Final verdict: Food & Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 -- as the current aesthetic feels more like a relic of 2020 than a leader in 2026 hospitality.

Not sure if it has been the same chef/cook on Saturdays during breakfast and lunch time but the food hasn't been as tasty when compared to weekdays. Today we went for a family lunch gathering on a Saturday and the restaurant was jam packed. Not sure if this was also a factor but every single dish we ordered was so greasy. We also noticed that the portion wasn't as big as what we usually received on weekdays. The complementary soup that came was lukewarm so that was already one point off. The dishes when served were not presented nicely. For example, there was food hanging off the plate and pot (they eventually fell to floor) or spilled sauce on the table. Even my favorite dish stir fried beef rice noodles was just mediocre today. We ordered 6 dishes and every single dish was salty and greasy. It really felt like they were made in haste. It was overall a disappointment and I don't think I'd want to visit the restaurant on a Saturday again.

Service could be a bit slower but it's a Chinese restaurant. So i get it. Everything was gooood! Portions were generous and the taste on point. The washrooms could use a bit of cleaning as well as the flooring...so had to take away a star. Would go back for sure! Overall tho, good comfort Chinese food at reasonable prices. Cheers!
