If you're looking for a spot that specializes in rice rolls, this is the place to try. They offer a variety of combinations, but the most popular one is the beef, pork, and shrimp roll. The sauce they add is really good and well balanced, and the rice roll itself is tender and tasty. Definitely a spot worth checking out

We've been to this highly popular food court stall in the past. It serves one of the best rice rolls in Richmond BC. There's usually a long line here, but we came early. We had the #1, Beef, Pork, Shrimp Rice roll with scallions, bean sprouts and corn. I had the Char Siu Roll. Meat inside was tasty and tender. The food court is on the top floor in f Richmond market. There are several small tables. It is bright and airy with piped in music.

Absolute favorite of mines and a must-have every time I travel up to Richmond BC from Seattle. I think their rice rolls are always consistent in taste and texture and I tend to order the same few items each time. Their beef, pork & shrimp is a classic and my personal favorite is the mixed sauce rice roll, which comes plain, with a savory peanut sauce and a sweet soy/hoisin sauce. The flavors just go together so well because the star ingredient - the cheung fun is soft and thin and supple. I've also tried and enjoyed the truffle but definitely recommend the classic variations first. I've also had the congee and enjoyed it but their standouts are definitely the rice rolls. Great location at the food court, easy parking in the lot, and lots of different foods to try at the busy stalls. Definitely expect a bit of a wait especially during rush times like weekends and meal hours because they make the rice rolls fresh to order. But so incredibly worth it. Reminds me of Hong Kong and gives me so much comfort.

It's about a year since my last visit. I first learned about the place from several YouTube videos that I've watched. Last year, the rice roll was like the best rice roll that I've ever had. This time around, it's good but not the same as before. I ordered the 3 flavor rice roll and corn with minced beef congee. The rice roll is good but didn't taste as fresh as it was, or maybe it was overcooked? The minced beef congee though is great! It is flavorful and the corn adds some freshness to it

Checked out Hei Hei Rice Roll as one of the many Richmond Public Market stops -- and this ended up being one of our favorites of the entire trip. They offer 20+ types of cheung fun/rice rolls, all freshly made to order. We tried multiple rice roll stalls in Richmond, and Hei Hei easily took the crown. Their combo of 1 rice roll + 1 congee for $14.99 is an unbeatable deal. - Beef, Pork & Shrimp Rice Roll (三喜腸粉) -- juicy, savory meat and shrimp; thin, moist rice noodles that wrap everything together beautifully - Char Siu Rice Roll (叉燒腸粉) -- enclosed char siu with corn; thin, multi-layered rice rolls; sizable, juicy char siu bites with a nice crunch - Congee (皮蛋碎豬 / 碎牛粥) -- perfectly seasoned, not too salty, mixed with small pieces of century egg; topped with peanuts for a crunchy contrast - Soy Milk (豆漿) -- smooth, fresh, and perfectly not-too-sweet They call orders by receipt number on a digital LED board. Service is fast and respectful -- about a 15-minute wait for our food. As always, Richmond Public Market is lively and chaotic in the best way, especially on weekends, so you may need to hover a bit for a table. October 31, 2025 - Next in the Vancouver food crawl, I headed to Richmond Public Market. I heard really good things about Hei Hei Rice Roll and how iconic it was, so I decided to give it a try. I got the minced beef rice roll. It tasted really good. It came with soy sauce you pour on top. The closest thing I can compare it to is a softer Cheng fun. The beef nice and soft and was easy to eat. No complaints. The rice rolls definitely lived up to the hype.

We ordered the rice roll that everyone recommended. It was pricey at $9 but it was one of the better rice rolls we've had. There was more meat in there than I could expected. The soy sauce and chili oil included was a great mix. Next time I would get my own plate though so I don't have to share, because I wanted more!

I always love rice rolls so I decided to try this one. It was more of a specialty roll because the meat was placed outside the rolls, not inside like those from Cantonese dishes. I like it though when you mixed soy sauce and chilli dip. They also have a lot of drinks. I ordered a weird tofu drink which tasted familiar after many years away from Malaysia. They mixed some herbs in it. The cashier lady was very quick and prompt to take my order and let me know that 10 minutes wait would be required. She was friendly. The surrounding was not too busy, 2-3 families and 2-3 groups of couples. It was a rather quiet afternoon at 4pm -5pm.

Wow I was super impressed with this! I love congee and rice rolls so it definitely hit the spot on a cold day. It's in a food court in a small mall. I'm not sure if you could even call it a mall really. The top floor is the food court and the bottom floor has a few random shops, a produce store, and Asian pharmacy. They only take cash so keep that in mind before going! I got the rice roll and congee combo for $15 CAD and an order of youtiao (Chinese donuts), and black sugar soy milk. This was a great deal and HUGE. You can definitely share this between two people. I finished the rice roll and had to take most of the congee to go because I was so full. Beef, pork, shrimp rice rolls: so delicious and nicely steamed. I love getting the different meats because it's so flavorful when you add the soy sauce. I also like adding chili oil to give it a little kick. The portion is big so don't worry about whether you'll be full or not. Pork and preserved egg congee: I did enjoy this but I feel like it lacked a bit of flavor. I put some leftover sauce from the rice rolls and chili oil in it which helped. The congee was also a little watery for me. I'm used to a much thicker congee but it was still enjoyable. Black sugar soy milk: nothing super special but if you like soy milk it's good. I can't really taste the black sugar flavor but I think because it's just light on sweetness which is fine with me. Chinese donut: you get two huge pieces! I think I finished half of one and took the rest home.

Food here is so good! The rice rolls had an amazing texture, nice and soft. Congee was flavorful as well! Dough stick was the perfect texture, crunchy and chewy.

Loved this, the texture of the rice roll is amazing and absorbs so much flavor. I don't think I can eat regular rice roll without thinking about this one again. It's in a nice, clean Chinese food court in Richmond, BC. It's self-service with plenty of seats. Although modern and clean, they are cash only so make sure you bring enough cash. We only had enough cash on us to try 1 flavor sadly! The congee is good, but I'd order 2 rice rolls next time around.

Some great rice rolls located at this place. They are located on the second floor food court plaza of a shopping area. The wait was not long for us and we ordered a couple of rice rolls (one with beef and the other bbq pork) as well as a congee. The congee was decent, but the rice rolls were delicious. They also came with a couple of sauces that I highly suggest you use for the rice rolls.

Food was really delicious, especially the freshly made Rice Roll. Tried the shrimp and bbq pork. Both were very fresh, yet will order a meat one next time. The shrimp one could use more shrimp. Service was quick and accurate. Would not expect more, it was a food court inside the Richmond Public Market. Ambiance was casual, food court seating, and clean. Most important was it was clean.

She wanted to go to Kirin. Plenty of parking in the mall. Hostess greeted and seated us promptly. Restaurant was busy but not crazy. This was at 10am on a Thursday. Waiters were attentive. Usual table service was in place. Took our order and food came out at acceptable pace. When we were done, they politely boxed up the leftovers and we paid our bill. So service was on point. The food we ordered came out hot. The staples that I order to test was hargow, suimai and pai gwut(spareribs). All 3 dishes in general were good.....the hargow could have used an extra minute or 2 in the steamer. The suimai was very good. I tasted every ingredient in this dish. Usually it is just a complete mix and you can't discern the different flavors. They tried something different with the cheongfun by adding pieces of Chinese donut to the roll. I personally think it didn't add much to the dish, taste or texture wise. I did like the pea shoots with shrimp. I think it is a good combo. All in all a good dimsum. I also noticed they did not charge us a tea service. The cost of the food is comparable with other restaurants at this level. On a typical Sunday evening, the restaurant is usually fully occupied, but my friend had thoughtfully made a reservation a week in advance, so our table for five was ready upon arrival. As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, with good airflow thanks to the wide-open front entrance facing the parkade. The front desk receptionist greeted us cordially, and we were escorted to a cozy table in a comfortable location -- not too close to the washrooms, which I appreciated. Our meal began with the Kirin Special Assorted Cold Appetizer, followed by Crab Meat, Dried Scallops, and Fish Maw Soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was delicious, with a generous portion that could easily have served eight people. We also enjoyed Pea Tips Braised with Bean Curd and Assorted Mushrooms in Consommé, Marinated Free-Range Crispy Skin Chicken, Fillet of Cod Sautéed with Seasonal Vegetables, and Live Crab in Consommé with Ginger and Green Onion, served with E-fu Noodles. Overall, the quality and taste of every entrée were excellent. Service was top-notch -- tea and hot water were refilled constantly, bones and used plates were replaced promptly, and the servers were friendly and engaging throughout the evening. My friend and his family have apparently been regulars at this location for over two decades, which likely contributed to the exceptional attentiveness we received. However, one aspect of the experience genuinely disturbed me. All servers, including the captains, continued to wear masks at all times. While this practice was understandable two years ago, now -- five years after the onset of the pandemic, with COVID-19 managed similarly to other seasonal respiratory illnesses -- the continued universal masking in a fine-dining environment feels unnecessary and detracts from the overall guest experience. Fine dining, in my view as an avid foodie, is built on human connection, hospitality, and personal interaction. Masks create a more impersonal, almost clinical atmosphere. In a well-ventilated space like this, the environmental risk does not seem to justify the visual and social trade-off. Rather than providing reassurance, the persistent masking may unintentionally signal that the environment is unsafe or that management is out of step with current provincial health guidelines, where masking is now a personal choice rather than a mandate. Final verdict: Food & Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 -- as the current aesthetic feels more like a relic of 2020 than a leader in 2026 hospitality.

Even my favorite dish stir fried beef rice noodles was just mediocre today. We ordered 6 dishes and every single dish was salty and greasy. It really felt like they were made in haste. Service could be a bit slower but it's a Chinese restaurant. So i get it. Everything was gooood! Portions were generous and the taste on point.
