The Buffet was closed down for a while during the pandemic but reopened in late 2022. Grand Villa Casino had a contest where if you swipe your casino "Encore" loyalty card on the contest machine, you'd have a chance to instantly win things such as free casino plays and restaurant coupons. A cash prize was offered as well. My friend was lucky enough to win a 2 for 1 coupon for Grand Villa's buffet and invited me over to try it out. Lucky me. I haven't visited Grand Villa Casino's Buffet in about 5 years so I was interested to see if anything changed since then. When we approached the entrance, there was no line up and there were plenty of seats available in the buffet. This was around 4pm on a Sunday. I took a glance at the food available for the day and it looked decent but nothing stood out, unfortunately. Here's a rundown of everything they offered that day. For soups they got vegetarian chili and chicken gumbo. The chicken gumbo was not good and my friend couldn't finish it. Just avoid the soups. For salads, they got romaine, kale, macaroni, coleslaw, and potato. I tried a bit of the kale and the macaroni salads and it was surprisingly tasty. For mains they got corn on the cob, corn bread, waffles, fried chicken, baked beans, mac and cheese, beef brisket, bbq ribs, and fried basa fish. The corn bread was pretty bland. It needs more flavor. The fried chicken is like the chicken you would buy at a superstore or walmart. Very average. It was drier than I preferred. The breaded skin was kinda tasteless. Worse than KFC. The mac and cheese was actually good. Very cheesy, tasty, and looked pretty yummy. The BBQ ribs were alright. It had very little meat on it. The sauce was tastier than I expected. The basa fried fish is nothing to write home about. Very average. It didn't have much flavor and tasted like the fish you would buy in the supermarket frozen dinner food section and pop it in the oven. The beef brisket was too tough, dry, and lacked flavor. Needs more seasoning. I think it was a tad overcooked. At the carving station, they had roast beef. It's not bad at all! The beef did not have any fat and it was tender and not dry. You can try it with dijon mustard or demi-glace sauce. I liked it with the dijon mustard. For pop, they got a coca cola freestyle machine with literally dozens of options of different types of pop. Coke, Barqs, Sprite, Fanta, and more. I have no complaints about the drinks. For dessert, they got mini donuts, double chocolate cake with chocolate icing and flakes on top, Red Velvet cake, chocolate brownies, and a fruit platter. They also have ice cream with a small selection of toppings. The mini donuts were sweet and tasty. They appear to be freshly baked. I liked the chocolate brownies a lot. It wasn't overly sweet but it was tasty. The chocolate cake was decent. It was a tad too sweet and tasted like an average chocolate cake overall. The red velvet cake was very average tasting as well. My friend didn't like the chocolate ice cream at all and could not finish it after taking a bite. There might have been a few more desserts and drinks available that I missed but I didn't take a good look. Besides the average quality food, the service by the wait staff and the dining area was actually better than other restaurants. The wait staff took away our plates very quickly after we were done with them. They were friendly and fast when we entered the restaurant and during our visit. I have no complaints about the service. The dining area was spacious and clean. The chairs had thick pillow cushions on them so it was better than an average dining chair. They had large windows that let the sunlight in. The decor was minimal but nicer than an average family restaurant. Overall, at the regular price of $33.99 per person, I would hesitate to recommend Grand Villa's Casino Buffet to anybody for the quality of the food that's offered. It really needs improvement. The chefs need to replace what it has now with better than average tasting food to ask for that price. The night we went, there was a young Asian dude at the carving station. He was G R U M P Y. I asked for the roast and not only did he not smile, he sneered at me and tossed me a few slim shavings of meat. I wish I could say that I am just trying to be funny, but unfortunately I'm not. I continued to watch him from my seat and he was just NOT in a good mood at all. He did similar if not the same to other people. He would trade places every 30 minutes or so with another guy. There was HUGE and noticeable difference between servers. The other guy was very proud of his work station and cleaned up around the area while waiting for the next customer. For the price this casino buffet was quite disappointing. The carving station consisted of an overcooked roast beef and an ok ham. There was only a limited amount of other dishes. This should be 3.5 stars since I have the buffet at Starlight Casino (and they are related under the Encore card) 3 stars. I find the food quality here slightly better than at Starlight. I have been here a few times now, and everything just seemed a touch better -- service, place, decor, food and variety. Even the clientele seemed different. I would not really say they are much better as we recently encountered a couple who pretended they did not understand us when told they took our table. Basically they removed our bowl of soup and cup of coffee and sat there. They did not even change the receipt, so we were at the table with their receipt. The staff was apologetic about it but did not really do anything either. Maybe they were the high rollers as their receipt showed they paid the full price (minus encore card discount, not BOGO) for the meal. Anyway, back to the food. If you have been to the buffet at Starlight, you would know the food there was really mediocre with many items being overcooked or mushy. The highlight there was really the roast beef and maybe meatballs and chow mein. So I based my review and experiences here with that. The roast beef here was good, with the middle part being rare and medium and the outer area well done. The staff was accommodating on which cut you prefer. During surf and turf dinner night, it was deep fried shrimps and some parts were so crispy you could eat the shell too. There were also clams and mussels which made my day. Mexican Night had soft taco which you fill it yourself with at least 4 types of meat fillings. Love the tortilla chips and guac and sour cream. Italian Night had a few varieties of pasta. I liked the brussel sprouts, calamari, meatloaf and meatballs too. The artichoke salad was also good. The main cakes for the dessert section changed all the time. I did not really like the soft serve ice cream. There was also the machine for coffee selection like mocha, cappuccino, latte and hot chocolate. I can't complain the food quality and variety because I came here after I got Encole card's 1 for 2 coupon. I have similar thought what other yelper reviewed. Besides of that, I want to write other things. I tried to use the salad bar but the glass roof over the salad was hitting my face if I tried to reach my arm to the farest container of salad. I'm not short and quite annoying. The roof blocking me! I enjoyed the pop machine. I used to drink Mello Yellow when I was kid but believed it was discontinued at 33-35 years ago in Japan. What a surprise that I found it again at this buffet! Also Diet Mello Yellow too. Yes I enjoyed the pop without guilty. Please check the machine. So fun! About the food, I loved their chana masala. First off - the "salad bar" didn't even have enough things to make any kind of decent salad. Then, the tortillas were so dried out and old - it was like they had taken them out of a freezer, then they sat out too long, re froze again - then served. So awful they didn't even wrap around to make a taco. Then the taco filling ( ground beef and pork ) both tasted like cheap meat and the flavour of both was non existent - gross. The roasted Brussels sprouts were edible but slightly burnt, yet cold. The empanadas were disgusting. As was anything else there. I gave up and just had dessert . I had the frozen soft serve ice cream which was the best thing they had. So good I had 2 servings to make up for the lack of food I had from the buffet. With that said, the pricing reflects the difference in quality compared to the lesser themed and regular buffets ($29 vs. $22). How is this one better? Second time here. They have a different theme every day of the week. Tuesday is really my day because of Roast Beef. Yes I like my red meat. The first time I came I was a bit disappointed because it was roast pork and not roast beef (yes that was a Tuesday). Both times I came with B and B didn't care if it was roast beef or roast pork. B's favorite dish was the meatloaf here. Well best part was really the multi flavor pop machine. Yes we both get excited over the pop machine. I got a two for one coupon from the mail and I had to sign up for an Encore card in order to take advantage of the deal. It worked out to be $22.05 for two before tips and with tips it was $25 for two. This is a self serve buffet. They have some good varieties. I do feel like people who dine here all have coupons. Yes either free buffet or BOGO. Note this buffet is located inside the Casino. Food here was ok. Prices are reasonable. Note: the desserts are different every time. I love their jello and another time I came I got the Ferro Roche cake. Wow that cake was delicious. The soft serve ice cream was not bad. Not sure when the next time I would have that same dessert again. They make sure the food is topped up frequently. Yes this place does get busy. They have two seating areas/sections. On Friday, they have the surf and turf. Yes it is the big shrimp and yes it sirloin steak. Well to me I think I am good with the roast beef. First off, I want to state that it was my husband's decision to go to the buffet at Grand Villa. He is entirely to blame. A couple of weeks ago, it was my husband's birthday, and because I am too lazy to purchase a thoughtful gift (I also buy him thoughtful gifts and do things for him all the time, so I also don't feel the need to buy something on one particular day of the year), I told him I would take him out to dinner. He initially decided on a restaurant downtown, but for whatever reason, he changed his mind and said he wanted to try the buffet at Grand Villa, so off to Grand Villa we went. Wow, were we ever unimpressed. Most of the food (of which there wasn't a lot of choice), warranted a rating of "not bad," "it's food", or "downright awful". Only a few items -- the prime rib, potatoes au gratin, and the roasted squash -- were "decent". And with the exception of the prime rib, all the food was lukewarm; nothing was actually HOT. And the desserts looked like those Costco squares (you know what I'm talking about; I think every office serves them at office events). I took a pass on those (someone at my office will probably be getting married, having a baby, or retiring soon enough), and out of curiosity, I tried what I think was a crumble of some sort, which turned out to be oats (or something) on top of jam, and was barely lukewarm. And the soft serve ice cream was just plain nasty. We toughed it out for about 40 minutes (we couldn't last any longer), and we didn't even order any alcohol. As much as my husband and I both like a glass or three of wine with dinner, there was no point in wasting even more money (I was already paying $30 -- EACH!); the food and ambiance were terrible; the wine prices were extremely expensive; and they didn't even have a wine menu -- all they could tell me is that they had "red" wine and "white" wine. Suspecting the wine would be just as awful as the food, I passed. The buffet at the Grand Villa is one of the foulest dinning experiences I have had; it is just so god damn AWFUL. Their standard salad bar has always been the same, but their mains have always been different ranging from Western, Chinese and Indian offerings. Coming to the buffet, I knew it wasn't a Vegas style buffet obviously, though overall, it wasn't too bad either for the price. The lunch buffet seems to be a mix of lunch and breakfast. For breakfast items, they had some thinly sliced french toast, breakfast potatoes, breakfast sausage, eggs, and bacon. The bacon was a bit soft as were the potatoes, though that's probably just due to being in the warming tray. The sausage is of your usual breakfast variety. Chicken was pretty moist, though maybe could've stood to use a bit more seasoning. I loved the potato salad though lol. I've got a weakness for potato salad, and it was sure darn creamy and tasty. I also tried their Mushroom and Onion bisque. Was a bit salty but was overall tasty enough. They also had one of those cool pop dispensers where you can choose your pop and add flavour shots in it...freedom of choice has never felt so good. For $15 worth of breakfast buffet, the Grand Villa's offerings have a decent variety: sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes and French toast, plus a. Salad bar and two hot proteins (it is chicken and fish today). The bonus is there are lots of desserts and bottomless coffee from the automatic dispenser. The cappuccinos and espresso were decent. If you want sugar-Free like myself, go for espresso then add heavy cream. I am used to eating real food like real meat. And the lowest processed food I go is A&W, so my body was in a kind of repulsive mode when I tried to force it to take in highly processed sausages. The one item I need to point out is the horrible pancakes that were stiff like thick cardboard-seemed like someone forgot to put baking powder to create the puffiness. I had many breakfast at various motels and they all serve way more competent pancakes from self-serve machines than these ones in the casino. This is something to be ashamed of. Overall, the hot food station is to be avoided. The salad bar was a decent mix of Superstore quality potatoe salad an mixed greens, with cherry tomatoes, beets, chickpeas, honey yogurt, blue and Parmesan cheese for topping. The dressings are standard. I ended up eating mostly out of the salad bar after surprise disappointment from the hot food station. The staff was friendly and there was always someone to clean up our plates. The cream puffs there were tiny and well done with delicate whipped cream filling (not custard). This is the highlight of the buffet. It goes well with the cappuccino. The buffet was 10 minutes late in opening and left customers queuing up with hangriness. The staff did not apologize for the lateness. We also were ID upon entering the casino in order to get to the buffet. The security staff scanned our driver license and asked for second piece of ID. So if you must get your buffet there, do not roll out of bed and go, make sure you have two pieces of ID. Made people in line wait another 10 minutes. The proteins they had were some sort of super bland fish, soggy pan fried chicken, super over cooked bacon, and undercooked sausages. They have a breakfast menu now from 8-10. My dad and I came and ordered two big breakfasts (2 eggs, toast, hash browns and choice is sausage, ham or bacon). The food came very fast but if you think about it, it's basically everything they serve in their buffet put together on a plate, so quick service is to be expected. The sausage was very salty, but all else was okay. The food is mediocre, at best. Drinks are self-served so naturally, refills are unlimited. Coffee, teas and pop are available. Service consists of someone coming to take your order and that's it. The waitress was very friendly though. There is no clearing of the table or anything, but that is okay. I'm not sure if the 2 stars Meh I've had better really says much because yes I have had better, and sometimes yes for the same price point but not necessarily variety wise but certainly at other all you can eat deals around the city. If you want a good variety of mediocre food and you have a 2 for 1 coupon because you won it from swiping your Encore card then the value proposition vastly increases. I'm not sure if I would pay full price for this. Most of the food is pretty bland. But they do have pretty good mashed potatoes so that is one thing in their favor when they have it. I've been here for Surf and Turf and Mexican Monday. The ground beef is really bland on Mexico but their pulled pork filling is actually decent. I suppose perhaps the beef is bland so that you have to spice it yourself with whatever condiments you can find. It was kind a disappointing that they did not have the hard shell tacos, only the soft shell but oh well. The deep fried stuff her is usually pretty decent. Whether it be spring rolls or tacoritos or mexi fries if you like to buy that stuff in the frozen food aisle to bake at home then you will love coming here because they actually deep fry it. It's nothing to write home about but it is all you can eat. The surf and turf....if you come around six the beef is over cooked. They didn't start serving it rare until around 8 and it was perhaps a different cut. Again, nothing to write home about except the mashed potatoes were good. The only other good dish here is the salmon. The desserts were ok. The soft serve seems to use skim or powdered milk and was a little bland for my taste. The carrot cake and mouse cake were ok. You may have gotten 2-for-1 buffet coupons in the mail from Gateway Casinos, good for either the Grand Villa in Burnaby or Starlight in New Westminster. The mailout I received had three coupons for three different periods between July and August. If you can eat a heaping plate (or skip breakfast and dinner), then the lunch buffet is for you. Two can dine for $13 ($13.65 after GST) -- that's less than $7 each. Buffet food is of course so-so, but here are some tips: -Go easy on the portions, especially if one of the hot items are running out because they'll restock with freshly cooked ones soon. -Desserts are usually lame and have sat around too long -- probably because people over-eat on mains. This said, if OK food for a great price appeals, then those two-for-one coupons are gold. And to be honest, fancier food at many places at a higher price isn't that much better. Considering you can eat three meals in one, $7 per person is a super deal (or if you need to save money for gambling, even $13 for your one super-stuffed meal per day is not bad). For the lunch buffet, they have a small mix of Asian and Western food (sticky rice and fried chicken, for example) and even some breakfast items like oatmeal and yogurt. Okay, so I'm not as young as I used to be. There was a time in my life that I enjoyed buffets and trying to get the most out of them that I could. As I've gotten older, I realize that I can't eat as much as I used to so I'm more interested in having good quality food over endless portions of mediocre food. Still, when you get a 2-1 offer for a surf and turf buffet... how can you really say no? The Buffet at the Grand Villa Casino is, appropriately, located at the Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby. The dining area (and the buffet station) is actually quite modest in size. Our first impression wasn't great. We received an email coupon offer for the buffet which said to just show the email to get the offer but by the time we got to the front of the line, they said they needed a printed coupon and that we'd have to go upstairs to print it out (even though the email said to just show the coupon). As for the buffet itself, their surf and turf was comprised of a small selection of salads items, chicken thighs, veggies, and their entrées of striploin, pork loin, shrimp, salmon, clams and mussels. It's a fairly basic buffet offering and I don't think it's worth the value of paying full price for it. Both meat entrées were tough and seemed over-cooked. I thought the salmon was probably the best of the bunch. As with the main buffet station, the dessert selection was also not the biggest. The carrot cake that I had was actually pretty good but they ran out pretty quick. I went back for a second round at the buffet line and that's when I saw the guy at the carving station... clearly, he didn't want to be there. There was a patron (a few customers ahead of me) standing at the carving station and wondering why he wasn't being served. Meanwhile, the carving dude was just standing back, a dejected look on his face as he stared aimlessly into the abyss. I'm sure he was looking at the ravenous hordes trying to pile as many shrimp as they could onto their plates and wondering exactly what he did to deserve his life. After about a minute or so, he must have snapped out of it and noticed the guy trying to flag him down so he could get a slice of beef. The carving dude, with an exhausted and slightly disgusted look on his face, slowly took a few steps to the carving station, without apologizing for keeping the guy waiting, and went back to robotically carving the meat, like he was slicing off pieces of his soul. There's definitely better food that you can find in the area (Atlas comes to mind) and I really wouldn't suggest paying full price for the buffet here. We came here to try their Thanksgiving buffet and waited for over an hour for a table. The food wasn't that great. Some dishes are lacking in some seasoning. The prime rib was served well done and the turkey was dry. The restaurant was having trouble with keeping up with all the guests. I am glad that the food get refilled in a timely manner. While standing in line waiting to be seated, I saw guests running around looking for plates and cutleries. Perhaps things will be less crazy during their weekday dinner service. ‍ read more

Due to overwhelming popularity of this place. The quality of food went down. The server was under staffed, so they decide to show their frustration to the customers. By saying why are you all come here ? Why you need come eat buffet here. Maybe she should go work somewhere else not at buffet area ? The food was not up to standard everyday every week every month. My family and I stumbled upon the Grand Villa Casino and while walking around we noticed signs everywhere advertising a buffet. We noticed that it was Seafood night (Fri & Sat) so we decided to give it a try. The buffet started at 4:30pm and we were pleasantly surprised to find out we got an additional 25% off (as an encore member) so the seafood buffet was just a little over $18! AMBIANCE: The place was a little small but it was modern and clean. FOOD: The selection wasn't as big as the buffet at River Rock but the important thing was that the food tasted good! The seafood was fresh and flavorful and the alaskan king crab definitely didn't disappoint. The selection consisted of: salad bar, alaskan king crab, shrimp, 2 kinds of fish, mussels, smoked salmon, roast beef, veggies, and a few other usual buffet food like fried rice and pasta. The dessert selection was very small with only about 4 options but again, it was delicious. SERVICE: Since it's a newly opened restaurant, there were a few kinks... it did take a while for the cashier to process payment which kept the line up long. Though alaskan king crab was served, there were no crab crackers. The servers had to hand them out to each table after realizing this. The service was very friendly and kind though and our plates were promptly cleared each time. PRICE: Regular price for seafood night is $25.99 which is still worth it for the quality of food you get. For the bad experiences I have read here I can't say mine was too bad, maybe it was the fact that I read these reviews while lining up to pay, or maybe, just maybe there have been others that have complained and the place has taken notice by actually improving the food. Located right beside Persona's, facing the #1 highway, this buffet is tucked deep in the casino, I came, not with a 2 for 1 coupon, but the fact they gave a free voucher to my mom cause it was her birthday in the month of March. Because of that, we decided to eat here, and as people have said, it's about $23, but if you have an Encore membership card you get $3 off, so you take your paid receipt and sit where you want in this buffet. This buffet is one of the smaller ones I have ever stepped in, let's put that out first, it's like a small restaurant that doesn't have that much seating, but it's roomy enough. The staff working here are very curteous, friendly, and cleared the tables everytime you had a plate empty, as there is not that much floor to cover (not bad, never a leftover mess!). On to the food, now the closest you are able to compare to is probably the River Rock, and this is a way lesser buffet than that, but quality wise, as I have heard the name Uncle Willy's, there is better food here, trust me on this one. From what I remember, they had two soups to choose from (Italian wedding and bacon, potato chowder on this night), to start, many bowls, soup spoons at the station, and a ton of prepackaged Ritz crackers. The next portion is the 'build your own' salad, with a choice of romaine or mixed greens as your base, with many additions to your healthy meal of choice, from adding 'real' bacon bits, olives, feta, parmesan, raisins, croutons, mixed fruits, and three dressings (ceasar, thosand islands, and Italian on this day). There is more that is offered, I'm just going off memory, but not bad, I ended up going back for salad near the end. Now you come to the cooked food, not as vast a selection as bigger buffets, as stated, but a good variety, I noticed some Chinese style foods, which I dodged as AYCE food of that ethnicity is already at home for me, so no thank you, I will try the other stuff. Baked baby potatoes, buttered corn, some peas, some fried rice that looked like Uncle Ben's, some sloppy tomato sauce'd spaghetti, some cut up rack of ribs, lemon dill chicken, turkey sausage patties (not good), honey garlic meat of some kind, baked salmon and a white sauced pasta (looked and tasted like Alfredo sauce to me), and once you reached the end there was a big slab of roast beef with a good hot pot of gravy for your drenching needs. With the roast beef at the end only sometimes was there a guy there, as he was also in charge of changing up the food and watching what was getting empty in the buffet, but if you waited for him to get back you could get him to cut up a pretty good piece. At the end, off near the front was the smallest dessert station I have ever seen for a buffet, 4 items, not much variety at all, but I ate enough where I was just picking at it a bit with my mom eating most of the sweets. There were cream puffs, chocolate cake, and two other variations of cake, no jello for all those who are wondering, and if your looking for fruits as desserts... go back to the salad area... it wasn't bad! (much variety in the fruit salad mix, from oranges, honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple and grapes.. from what I remembered). One last thing, they have a drink area, filled with a pop machine that is serve yourself, and on the side of that a hot drink area filled with boiling water, tea bags on the side and coffee, seems like I was with the elder crowd tonight, as there was no coffee cups and everyone was talking a hot drink on this evening. If you take it for what it is, this buffet offers enough for the size of the place, sure this is a casino, but doesn't have the foot traffic of the more popular River Rock. I didn't see much food wastage from the people who were eating here, and also they ration out the food good here where it's not sitting out too long and they don't put too much of one thing out, just enough for the people who are eating here. I would not call this a steal of deal but if you are just looking for a buffet to gorge down food, the quality isn't that bad, and you have to remember you are getting all you can eat, the days of cheap buffet's are over, but if your comparing this with the River Rock buffet, it does fall short. read more

So, my wife wanted to take me out for a birthday dinner, and I felt like doing a buffet. We considered the River Rock and checked the reviews, not so good considering what they're charging. The Grand Villa was closer to home, reviewed similarly and cost a fair bit less, so we decided to check it out. Mistakes were made. The Good: I'll start by saying what I liked and give fair credit: The prime rib (we went on a Saturday) was quite good, and we were lucky enough to get one that was just coming out of the oven. But a man cannot live on roast beef alone. The staff was attentive and friendly and deserve all the credit in the world. My wife is pretty picky with beef done-ness, and the carving chef was happy to oblige, while our plates were cleared quickly and the hosts were pleasant. The Bad: The rest of the dishes ranged from mediocre to foul. This was mostly because of the fact that almost all of it was sitting out under heat lamps for far too long. The shanghai noodles were awful, overly sweetened and had way too much orange zest. The mussels had quite a few bad, unopened ones in the bin and there was no butter or sauces served alongside. The shrimp gnocchi was gluey and unpleasant at the temperature they were serving it, the salmon was overcooked to the point of becoming fishy bricks rubbed with the faintest amount of pesto. Shrimp were served head-on and not de-veined, which some people may like, but it's not for me. For dessert, the berry crumble was barely warmed, making me think of a dish left out on the kitchen counter on a hot day rather than fresh from the oven. Something even seemed wrong with the soft serve machine, with the ice cream separating into milky ice and sugary syrup. Alcohol prices were at a premium, charging upmarket rates for downmarket drinks. We skipped the booze on this one. The Ugly: The vast majority of the food was awful, but what really made the experience bad was the terrible ambiance and discomfort of the space. The buffet is very small, situated in what is essentially an alcove off the casino floor. Tables were far too close together, bad decor, tiny tables, uncomfortable chairs, harsh lighting and hideous flooring. There was a real "prison cafeteria" vibe to the whole thing. The dessert bar even shares space with the waiting/host area because they're trying to jam way too much seating into way too small a space. If it weren't for the crowded and uncomfortable space, we may have stuck around longer just eating roast beef and squash and left at least sorta satisfied with the experience. The Verdict: If you're a casino cardholder and get a cheap admission coupon through points or the like, go ahead. At half price, it would be worth it to eat a bunch of prime rib and mussels. At the price they're charging? Not even close. Uncle Willy's is a 10 minute drive away, costs less, has a better selection, better decor (which is amusing because it's a restaurant intended to keep picky 3 year olds happy) and better food. This is a big ol' avoid. 1-star, with an extra star granted for the quality of service. read more

Day after Vancouver Vaisakhi and they're still celebrating here! Offerings included tandoori chicken, tumeric rice and butter fish etc. While I do appreciate the festive spirit, their execution leaves a lot to be desired. All the aforementioned dishes lack flavour, so much so I had to apply Louisiana hot sauce on all of them. Not to mention seating's extremely cramped here, you can literally grab food off the table next to yours without leaving your seat. Veggies like broccoli, cauliflower and even the kernel corn were pretty tasteless. And then the soft-serve machine wasn't working at all! From the starting point of getting in the place with less than efficient queing to a modest selection of food items BUT a modern Coke machine which provides a veritable potpourri of selection in Coke products, there are a myriad of types of people sharing the immediate environs. I went to the Buffet Today and well...it wasn't the best experience of my life. I had to wait with my college at the front desk. She took a while to process my payment. Then informed me to stand by a sign waiting to be sat. Lots of weird looks from staff while waiting however got sat right away. Went to the buffet to get the food next as we were really hungry. It was a small selection however as long as we had warm delicious food. That didn't happen. Picked up mashed potatoes, chicken stew, a tiny bun, and the meat from the meat station. Also picked up something that looked like tater tots as it wasn't labeled like half the items on the line. Let me tell you, normally, a buffet consists of warm food and flavorful food. The mashed potatoes were dry and crumbled like breadcrumbs. I have never known mashed potatoes to look like that. Chicken stew was like chicken bones and potatoes. It was hard to choke on those bones. Tiny bun was dry and stale and lastly the the meat station. I will NEVER eat from the meat station again. It was bloody and luke warm. Worst experience ever : It all started with the waiting time as we were informed when we just got there that it would take around 15 minutes until they find a free table for us. We waited for more than half hour and nobody called us yet...After 45 mn we were finally seated and 5 minutes later we left the place...I have to admit 5 minutes was too long to decide to leave...they could call that anything except a buffet : very limited choices , awkward food presentation and the worst moment when I tried the chicken : it tasted just like the salmon they were serving as they probably cooked everything together...One more thing , they were claiming to serve shrimp fried rice but you literally need magnifying glasses to look for the "shrimp"....Will never go back... read more

I've been a fool and have eaten here twice. Once for the dinner buffet and once for the Sunday brunch. The dinner was the first attempt at this place and it was horrifically disgusting. We decided to try the Sunday brunch to see if maybe that might be better? It was worse. The breakfast items included wet bacon (it was sitting in so much grease that it all stuck together and was dropping), sausage (that tasted like it was about 2 weeks old), scrambled eggs (that I'm pretty sure came from a package) and French toast (that was sort of ok). There was only coffee, tea or pop - no water or juice. The other brunch items were the same disgusting dinner items. All in all I ate hardly anything and left hungry. Came here on pasta night. It's a very small buffet with limited seating, which means their may be a line. The wait was about 45 minutes when we were there. Not sure what the regular buffet price is but I believe we paid around $12 a person. It's actually good value for the 2 for 1 price. I would definitely not pay regular price for this buffet because the selection and options are very limited. On top of that the food quality is not very good. The staff didn't seem to be changing out the dishes and a lot of the items were near empty. The seating system is also not very good. They may have not had enough staff working that night but many tables were empty while a lot of people were waiting. Overall I think this buffet is a pass unless you have a coupon! read more

Welcome to the saddest place on Earth. This buffet could put a Michelin Star on Uncle Willy's. From the moment you walk into the dining room, you know it's not a good sign with only 2 or 3 other occupied tables. They look up at you and lip the words "I'm sorry". The buffet table is probably the smallest one I've ever seen. Not smallest in a Casino, I mean smallest ever. Each major animal apparently gets one representative dish. I felt especially saddened for the seafood dept though, whose signature dish was aptly named "Seafood Cake" - so sad. We had lunch here, and the cost was about $13/person. I think for $13, the food selection/quality is adequate. There is a salad bar with good potato salad, some hot food items (rice, noodle, pizza, pork stir fry, steamed vegetables with butter, fried cod nuggets, pasta...). The dessert section is all Costco desserts, which I do no eat (it's really gross). However, the soft serve ice cream was good. We swiped our encore cards and one of us received a free buffet. Regular price with the encore card is $13.05 and so it's pretty cheap, especially thinking if you paid $13.05 for two people. The food selection was sparse, but it was enjoyable for the most part. We found that it was warm, as opposed to hot which wasn't amazing. As for the taste and quality of the food, it was good for the price we paid, though I wouldn't consider paying $13.05 for the buffet without a 2 for 1 coupon! One last thing, I found that when I was waiting in line, I noticed a menu on display where the cashier was which I thought would be what we were eating as it was the only menu on display. It had listed this whole thanksgiving feast including prime rib! There was no prime rib. I was looking forward to it! A perk is that they do have the coca cola freestyle machine which is nice so you can get any soft drink you desire! read more
