We really enjoyed it! As we were staying at the Metropolitan Hotel connected to the Diva, we came to Diva multiple times. Our first night, we had cocktails only. We tried their Tito's Palmer. It was very good. Our first morning here, we had breakfast. I had the Diva Classic. I had soft scrambled eggs with bacon, smashed breakfast potatoes and toast. While the potatoes were a bit salty for my taste, overall, it was a great meal and a great presentation. My wife had the Avocado toast. It came with 2 poached eggs. She enjoyed her breakfast. Thus far, the bartenders, kitchen and wait staff have all been great. If staying nearby (Howe Street), I can recommend Diva.

Convenient downstairs restaurant to our stay at Metropolitan Hotel. My family tried their dinner, weekend brunch, and breakfast during our stay. It wasn't busy at the times went so service was fast and friendly. There was hockey playing on TVs, lounge chairs/tables, and we were seated at the same table each time - fine with us! Casual place to grab a bite before getting our day started and a relaxing stop before ending our night. Kids had French toast twice & grilled cheese with tomato soup, husband enjoyed a lager with each visit, and I recommend the weekend brunch menu (10:30?am-1:30pm) - crab egg benedict and the shashuka.

Enjoyed Happy Hour here! Service was amazing but food was just ok. I probably would not visit again. Here's what we ordered: - tuna tostada: pretty good flavour, would recommend ordering - truffle fries: nicely fried, would recommend - sliders: patties were dry - margarita pizza: pizza dough was bland

Pork belly Tacos & truffle fries

The food was amazing! Specifically the pork belly tacos. 10/10! The margaritas are a must try as well. The ambiance of the restaurant/bar was great. Our bartender/server was so helpful in recommendations & so sweet. This is a must try when in Vancouver.

There are a lot of restaurants that have Happy Hours. There are few that have a menu that is truly delicious. Stop no more and make sure you come here! Happy Hour from 3-6 and all day Happy Hour DRINKS every Wednesday! Brian was a fabulous server who helped us choose (almost everything on their HH menu). Truffle Fries: MUST ORDER. Crispy and deliciously seasoned Meatballs: Not Spicy but filled with cheese and a tangy marinara sauce Fish Tacos: Yes please! Sliders: Outrageously excellent. Exactly how you'd expect a mini burger to taste! So if you're undecided on where to go, look no further!

We came here for our department Christmas lunch. It was fairly quiet on a Monday. Service was excellent and the decor was nice. We shared two appetizers - truffle fries and Brussels sprouts. Both were really good. You could smell the truffle. The fries were crispy and flavorful. The dip was quite superfluous. The Brussels sprouts were tasty too and I liked eating it with the sliced chili pepper as it made it a bit spicy. I had the lobster roll. It was served with waffle crisps and salad. The salad was refreshing as it had a tangy dressing. I did not care for the waffle crisps though. The lobster roll was quite small but it was filled with lobster meat. There was no filler and not drenched in Mayo or other stuff to mask the taste. However it did not wow me as I still could not taste the natural sweetness of the lobster. The best part was the roll which was a milk bun. That had a tinge of sweetness to it. I could eat several of the bun on its own. I would want to go back again during happy hour for the cheaper truffle fries and Brussels sprouts. My coworkers had the harvest bowl (only the avocado looked good to me), chicken club sandwich (most substantial with a huge sandwich and fat chips), Baja fish tacos (3 pieces but they looked tiny too) and the burger which looked ok.

One spot that I have to go more often not just to eat food but have an experience. From previous reviews I can tell that they do care about their patrons extra ordinarily. We were not only greeted instantly but seated the very next minute and the enthusiasm in the usher n server excited us even more. We got the perfect little window facing corner to sit and a very gentlemen server. Excellent customers service in not only serving them but overall handling of everything going on. Food was beyond my expectations good. The beetroot salad , prawns, bread n avocado and also the ravioli was mind blowing. We finished to last crumb n leaf of salad. Lol Desert had a perfect sweet taste to it How could I ignore music being played as it filled the air with a different energy. Imagine sitting in a Vancouver downtown restaurant but listening to Arabian, carabian n beaches inspired music so what will happen? You have a good time. Right? Beautiful music by djsoulcial just adds cherry to the top notch food and ambiance of diva See you again

We had breakfast at the Diva. It was one of the best breakfasts that we have had in memorable times. We had the Eggs Benedict which was soft poached free range eggs, chive hollandaise, twice cooked potatoes, and peameal bacon and the Breakfast Skillet which included two soft poached eggs, chorizo, cilantro, avocado, pinto beans, corn tortilla chips. Both were fantastic.

Breakfast at Diva at the Met Restaurant during our 2 nights stay at Metropolitan Hotel. " The food is super delicious and the plating is stunning. We ordered: -Diva Classic -Classic Eggs Benedict -Brioche French Toast -Buttermilk Pancakes My favourite is the buttermilk pancakes. I love all the fruits which I did not need syrup. Pretty epic breakfast to start the day! But honestly you can't go wrong with the other dishes. The service is great and thank you taking care of us!

HH Sliders which were ordered after my lobster roll

Having not eaten the entire day, I decided to grab a quick bite at 4:30 pm since I was staying in The Metropolitan Hotel with their adjoining restaurant for HH. Since I was so hungry, I decided to order from the main menu and chose the lobster roll with the chips which were slightly salty for my taste. Lobster roll was very good but wish the roll was larger and ended up ordering the sliders which were part of the HH menu as I was still hungry. Overall 4 solid stars for the experience here at Diva @ The Met.

Lovely ambiance but it's just overpriced. Went to the Mother's Day Buffet Brunch. There was a roast beef bar, pasta bar and eggs freshly made on the spot. Went to the pasta bar and was offered the "recently made" ribbon cream sauce pasta with mushrooms and garlic. Was just so so. There was a good breakfast selection. Mini fried chicken on waffles, red pancakes, bacon, sausages and crispy potatoes. A highlight was three types of Eggs Benny - salmon, ham or asparagus based. There was also salad in an open mason jar, cheese and meat platters and Asian breakfast portions. I felt like I ate about $35 of food and beverages. My party was probably on par. We received great service from Vivian. 18% gratuity was also added automatically to the bill. Was an experience but wouldn't return.

Ambiance: 5/5 There was a DJ and played very nice selections of music from the past and the present. Staff: 5/5 They are very helpful and very attentive. I liked that! Food: 3.5/5 Their menu tonight offered lamb and fish but I wasn't feeling it. I chose to have a pasta dish called the Wagyu bolognese- thick red sauce and a hint of ricotta cheese on top. The portion was good but it didn't wow me. However, the presentation was nice. I appreciated that. Husband wasn't too hungry so, he went for the battered cod fish tacos. He wasn't impressed. He thought it was mediocre. I liked it! So I ate the rest of the fish and didn't finish my pasta. We had a couple of drinks too. I had a glass of Rose' that I liked very much. Hub had some sort of beers. The drinks were the highlight for me. All in all, It was still a pleasant experience and I really enjoyed the sparkling water that kept coming. I recommend this place because everyone was pleasant and attentive. It's super clean and comfortable for dining. Their DJ is good! I enjoyed it. This resto is on the ground floor of this Metropolitan hotel.

Nice food to accompany a nice stay at the Metropolitan. It's really a good restaurant independent of being attached to the hotel. I went twice. Pictured are the eggs Benedict with bacon, but I returned a second day for the French toast.

We were STUFFED, for the price you're paying the portions are very fair and quality you can't beat! I've had seafood in the Bay Area, Boston, and even across countries in Asia, but I was SO impressed by Blue Water Cafe. It is a MUST if you're in Vancouver. Everything was honestly a 5/5, the only dish I would pass on is the Yellowtail, I just wasn't a fan of how much it was wavering between raw and cooked fish, along with the char. It's just not for me, but my parents enjoyed it. Nevertheless, some of the highlights was the sablefish, oh my gosh melt in your mouth. Sablefish is Vancouver locally caught, so very fresh and it has a sweet undertone with the soy and sake marinade. This was my favorite along with the Seafood Tasting for Two, which features scallop ceviche, Dungeness crab salad, albacore tuna tartare, and smoked sockeye salmon terrine. You get a diversity of fishes and flavors, which is most certainly worth the price point. It's the gems of the appetizers put into 1 order. Halibut was also noted to be locally caught, the slices were thin and a perfect app. Hamachi Kama is yellowtail collar, which has a rich, succulent meat. It tasted buttery and was also melt in the mouth. The Dutch Mule was a ginger ale with sorbet. Absolutely delicious mocktail, I held back on ordering a second. The service was also amazing!!! Our waitress welcomed us warmly to Vancouver and even gave us a complimentary dessert to welcome us to the area, even giving us tips where to go near the area and what sights to see in Vancouver.

From the gold railings to coat check to a piano on the stairs to an old school oyster bar showcasing their wares proudly on display, Joe Fortes has a lot going on for it. But perhaps more so than anything else is an amazing happy hour for anyone who loves oysters. Service Before diving into the food let's talk about service. The servers here are dressed in the old full whites with black ties and give you full service. They have an expert knowledge of the menu and are willing to give you any and all opinions if asked. They check on you frequently and make sure you're having a good time with enough banter to make it friendly and welcomed. Happy Hour - Alcohol With that out of the way, we can talk about the happy hour. Yes, they have a great deal when it comes to their house red and white wines where you can get 6 oz for $6 CAD or 9 oz for $9 CAD. Their beers range from $5 CAD to $8 CAD and their cocktails are all under $10 CAD. Happy Hour - Food They have some incredible truffle fries, cut thick and sprinkled with parmesan as delicate as snow for $9 CAD. Their crab & corn fritters are slightly chewy but packed with flavor and come at $12 CAD. The coconut prawns sound just as delicious as they taste and come at $13 CAD. I would avoid the Steelhead ceviche though as it was more mashed avocado than ceviche. However, HOWEVER, the star of the show are their oysters. Coming at $1.75 an oyster, you get to be as gluttonous as you'd like whilst keeping your pockets happy. Vancouver is known for their amazing seafood and with this happy hour from 3 PM - 5 PM it gives you 2 hours to fill your belly with as many oysters as you can. Even if you ordered 50 oysters you would be under $90 CAD. I should know, I did that. Last Thoughts Even without the incredible happy hour Joe Fortes would be a restaurant you have to visit during your trip to Vancouver. With a great selection of food on their menu, wait staff that feel old world and professional, and a setting fit for the city, the happy hour is just the bonus that makes visiting Joe Fortes even more enticing. Come with an appetite, leave with a smile.

The escargot was not what I was expecting as I only ever had it before in French restaurants where it is served basically in a ball shape covered with butter and garlic, the escargot here were very small and you had to get it out of the shell with a toothpick. After researching snail, I understand there are three different types of snail you can eat. This one is much different than the one if find in French restaurants, but I am glad I was adventurous and tried it. They had two distinct flavors as you reached the bottom of the jade conch, they were more succulent and flavorful, the top portion of the jade conch was a bit spongier and chewier, but I liked these by far much greater than the snail and periwinkles. The girlfriend got the scallops, and they tasted sweet and delicious. Now if you're not sold yet on the place they have a fun game you get to play with the purchase of any beer. You crack off the cap on a pinko looking board and if the cap lands into one of the slots you can get free oysters or other free goodies. I ended up getting two tsing-tao beers but got the try again maybe next time slot both times : ) Great different experience, highly recommend! As always people SYOY!!!
