Burger patty was made from frozen and lifeless
    Christina L.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday. Restaurant was about 25% full. We sat down and waited quite a while until someone came and gave us water, so service is definitely not fast here. I ordered the traditional club sandwich and my partner ordered the burger. The food also took quite a while to arrive. The burger was made from a frozen patty, and it tasted lifeless. Fries were good. The salad dressing tasted quite terrible, like a watery red wine dressing. My club sandwich was decent, and the chicken breast was tasty. Ambiance was quiet hotel restaurant. We liked that we were able to have quiet conversations. They don't make coffee from fresh beans here. It's all from Nespresso pods. Butter is served from little single serve cups. Jam is in served in little pre-made single serve jars. I feel it's neither environmental nor fresh. We went to get coffee elsewhere after our meals here.

    Italian espresso martini $12

    * Have you ever visited a restaurant, ended up having an issue, yet you left with such satisfaction and a feeling of complete joy, that it didn't even matter? Yup, that happened to me here at P2B Bistro and Bar. They are located inside Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront. (The review of the hotel is posted separately) This is my first time in Vancouver. Dinner my first night here, at P2B, was delicious. Happy hour from 3-6 includes some great choices. Ours were a beautiful charcuterie board with a diverse selection for $18. A sourdough and olive oil plate that includes an olive tapenade and balsamic $9. Probably one of the best sourdough breads I've ever had. The Italian espresso martini $12, was outstanding. They put their own twist on it. I've never had one before, so I don't know the difference. But this one was money! Has anyone ever flown to another country just for a cocktail? Haha, I can dream. On to dinner. We shared a dish, Linguine Puttanesca $24. The flavor was exquisite. The spice of it was perfectly balanced with the salty capers and rich tomato sauce. It was split into 2 plates (pictured) so the half portion size in each bowl was just perfect, since having indulged in appetizers and still wanting dessert. Vacationing allows me a reason to splurge sometimes and I'm glad I did. Dessert was magnificent. House made crème brûlée $13, was one of the best I've ever tasted. The rich, yet delicate custard was decadent with a perfectly hardened, caramelized sugar topping. Topped with fresh fruit and a small biscotti its presentation was outstanding. Affogato was also ordered. It was the perfect harmony of hot and cold. Creamy vanilla ice cream with the bold, hot espresso, created a delicious combination of balanced sweet and bitter. It too was served with a small biscotti. (Yes, I dunked, lol) We enjoyed outside patio dining with a beautiful view of the water and surrounding city. It was so nice. Did I mention an issue? Hardly worth mentioning except that it brought me to meeting the manager, Samantha. She has to be one of the best people, in her position, that I've ever met. Sometimes things happen for a reason and tonight that reason was to be able to meet her. She was professional, kind, thoughtful and absolutely delightful. The interaction with her was the cherry on the sundae to this whole amazing dinner experience. I highly recommend P2B Bistro and Bar if you are staying at the hotel. It's worth the visit even if you're not.

Soup of the day tomato basil $13

We got 2 $15 off coupons when we checked in at the hotel so we decided to give it a try. We were here during a quiet lunch time. The staff was friendly and the food was good. There's even a little bit of a view.

    Royal Treatment
    Alexia H.

Came on a Thursday during happy hour. But none of the happy hour options looked appealing to me. One of my co-works had the happy hour beer, which was a red truck lager. She loved it. My co-workers and I shared the calamari, which we all loved. I tend to like mine a bit crispier but the flavor was great. I had the royal treatment cocktail. It was a very nice light and refreshing gin based drink. For my main entree I had the chicken piccata. Absolutely loved that dish! The flavors were amazing. Would definitely stop by next time I'm in town.

I stayed at the Pinnacle Harbor Hotel and it is so convenient to just go downstairs to P2b Bistro to eat. I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. The food is delicious! The service is amazing as well. They have patio seating with beautiful views but since it has been raining I have been dining inside. I love the glass windows. It is very nice to see boats coming in and geese flying above me while I enjoy my meal. My favorites include the Caesar salad with grill chicken, korean flavor wings, grilled chicken cobb salad, truffle fries, and signature breakfast plate. The smoked salmon was delicious for breakfast. Don't forget to try the french vanilla cafe latte. Happy hour is 3-6pm. They also have live music starting at 5:30pm.

My mom and I decided to try the restaurant since we were staying at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel. We had asked the hostess if we could site outside on the patio. No problems there. We had ordered 2 Pop (soda), which ended up costing $4, which we thought was expensive. For an appetizer, we ordered the crab cakes. My mom really enjoyed it- says it was made with lots of crab. My mom ordered the baby back ribs and I had ordered the prawn linguine. The entrees were pretty tasty. I enjoyed what I ordered. I ate the entire thing. For dessert, we ordered the lava cake. It came with some ice cream and some dabs of sauces on the side. Our server was nice, but pretty slow. I had even heard a few people ask the blonde server to get their bill because they had no idea where their server was. Next time, we will skip the pop and stick to water. The restaurant was not busy, so it was a little disappointing that the service was so slow. Decent food, good location.

    Penne chicken
    Elaine T.

So delicious that I could have licked my plate. The penne had a flavorful sauce with bacon and sausage. The only thing that could have made it better was a crostini so I could wipe my bowl clean! The seafood chowder was buttery and rich with fish, clams and more. The chicken BLT was fresh with actual chicken breast not sliced meat. Service was excellent.

Pull pork slider from happy hour menu
    Tracy T.

We checked into the Pinnacle hotel during heat wave and decided to try out the restaurant since it's too hot to go out. I read some early reviews and was worried about the service, but it turned out to be great. We've ordered drinks and appies from happy hour menu and 2 items from dinner menu. The calamari was over done. It's so dry that it tasted like jerky. The pull pork slider and Caesar salad came as expected, there's no surprise both in a good and bad way. The linguine was flavourful and the texture was just right. The steak frites was also nicely done. After all, the happy hour really doesn't save you a lot and not worth it given the quality and taste of the food. Go for the happy hour drinks, otherwise don't even bother as food from regular menu is way better.

    Rack of lamb $29.50
    Eva L.

This review is for a regular weeknight and also Christmas night. Environment (4/5): The restaurant is located on the first floor of the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel. There is a bar and a dining area with small and large tables. On the weeknight, there was a live musician but unfortunately none during Christmas day. Quite festive with the Christmas decors though. Food (3/5): The lamb rack was really good. The ribs, on the other hand, were really dry. Christmas 3-course meal was $49 came with an appetizer (soup was good), main (prime rib was the better choice) and dessert. Price (3/5): Fairly reasonable if you have the entertainment BOGO coupon. Otherwise, average $30 for a main. Service (1/5): THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE! The first time we came we thought it was okay so we wanted to give it another try. WE HAD THE SAME SERVER AND HE BARELY ATTENDED US. He never came to ask if we wanted water refill, let us know when the food would arrive (we waited more than 45 mins for food), or even asked how the food was. He forgot our sides (Yorkshire pudding and coleslaw) but another table got theirs. We felt neglected. No manager came to talk to us. THEY RUINED OUR CHRISTMAS DINNER... LESSON LEARNED: NEVER AGAIN! (I was reading other's reviews someone else actually had a similar experience as us! This should be addressed!!)

    Crab cakes
    Danielle B.

Great spot for either lunch or dinner and perfect for groups. My last visit was with a group of friends for an early dinner. We had a reservation and were seated pretty much right away upon arrival. It took about 5-10 minutes before our server took our drink order but after that, the service improved with food orders and follow-up drinks. I had the mussels followed by the Cobb salad, with an added order of prawns. I thought it was a bit overpriced but everything tasted really good. Other dishes at the table were the crab cakes and the pasta with meatballs - both looked really good. I'm disappointed to learn that they no longer have the amazing bread that they were so well known for, but due to changes in ownership, they don't have them anymore. Too bad, they were pretty fantastic.

    Salmon with tomato pesto risotto
    Aleah G.

I got the salmon with tomato pesto risotto and loved it. The risotto was my favorite part. It came with broccoli and asparagus too. It was all yummy. It's a nice space with large glass windows and you can sit inside or outside. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We're staying at the hotel and we're glad we went here.

Steep as it is, I decided I wanted a "quick little sushi lunch with a view", and a quick little sushi lunch with a few is exactly what I received. Although I don't recommend it, I walked right in from the street, no reservation, and was seated at the bar (in pretty casual street clothes I may add). I enjoyed a premium sake flight (which was fine...just fine), an old fashioned served with the perfect accompanying dark chocolate, and a good amount of sushi including their signature aburi style sushi in flight form and nigiri tuna flight (bluefin, chutoro, otoro). After visiting Japan last December, I'm a bit of an otoro snob but I have to hand it to them, all three of these cuts were perfect. The accompanying rice, perfection. The quality of the fish, divine. The view was the cherry on top of this experience. This will certainly be a spot I revisit next time I'm in Vancouver.

Michelin starred quality in their service by how they explained the menu, brought out the food, came back around to refill waters. Just top notch service and elegantly so. The food was good but not of value. Their lunch set was a good introductory to what they offer. I enjoyed the food for its flavours and presentation but I thought that it was a bit overpriced. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, fresh and definitely elevated, but it was $50 for 10pcs of sushi, 2 appetizer sized samples of their appetizer or entree dishes, and miso soup (which we did not get and didn't realize till much later in the day). If you're wanting an upscale experience (and portion) of good quality food or wanting to impress other parties, then this is a nice spot. For regular eats, it's a bit too luxurious to be a casual thing in my opinion. The ambiance is nice and calm. They have a patio, which has a meh view overlooking the harbor, but beware of a breezy day. It will catch a bit of a wind tunnel. They have heaters and blankets but the heaters don't really reach unless you're sitting next to it.

And this place measures up to a lot of the ones in Japan! Ever since the viral sensation of the new evolved form of Omurice, many locations in Tokyo now also serve this dish. Outside of Japan, it's hard to find ones much better than what they serve here. The rice is cooked very well, the curry is delicious and has more depth than the store bought roux, and the eggs are cooked perfectly. We had a wonderful server who was able to answer all my questions in a friendly manner, and they were also pretty quick to serve. We got to try the famous omurice, which is the Japanese omelette rice, and had some side dishes. The avocado bomb was super yummy, filled with avocado and covered with a deep fried layer of rice. The kontatsu tastes fresh and crunchy, the meat a little bit on the dry side but it's common. Chicken karaage was just okay to me. Personally it had too much batter on it. We both had the traditional omurice. The omelette was nicely cooked. When cut open, all the juice came out nicely. The fried rice underneath has a large portion, tastes good, but a little bit hard. The curry sauce on the side of the plate is quite salty, but it complement the egg well. The service was really good, and our server even came to ask some feedback for improvement. Overall, we really like this place and will stop again when in the area. Free parking is available in the underground parking lot. As I write this, I am literally still dreaming of the Hong Kong Style BBQ Pork. It didn't just "eat" well; it dissolved into a decadent, sweet, fatty puddle of pure bliss. Walking in, the vibe is quintessential Chinatown: a bustling counter, a glass case showcasing glistening roasted treasures, and a seating area that trades fancy decor for pure, functional authenticity. We were clearly out of our element, probably looking like deer in headlights, but the staff met our confusion with warm smiles. Then came Bobby--the absolute heart and soul of this place. We walked in expecting the standard American-Chinese routine, but Bobby whisked us away to a cozy table and treated us like family. He started us off with a fragrant jasmine tea so naturally sweet and floral it didn't need a grain of sugar--perfect for a biting winter night. While we flirted with the Happy Hour menu, Bobby took the reins. You don't say no to a man with that much charisma and passion! On his expert recommendation, we pivoted to the Two-Meat Combo (BBQ Pork + Soy Chicken) with a side of their famous Roast Duck. The food arrived in a lightning-fast 10 minutes, but the real treat was Bobby's play-by-play on how each dish was prepared. You can taste the pride in every bite. The balance was masterclass: a symphony of sweet, salty, and umami. The meats were succulent, the skins were shattery-crisp, and the glazes were perfectly sticky. The undisputed heavyweight champion, however, was that Hong Kong BBQ Pork. Imagine the best "burnt ends" of your life, drenched in a caramelized, mouth-watering sauce that demands your full attention. We left Chinatown BBQ feeling more than just sated--we felt enlightened. If you're looking for a "one in a million" meal, let Bobby order for you. You won't regret it.

At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. The food came out of the kitchen pretty quickly. I was asked more than once if I wanted a drink since it was happy hour which was a little awkward but not too bad! TL;DR - Good happy hour deals with quick service

It was so light and crispy and the chicken was tender and juicy. Saku's katsu was so good that when I think about the katsus I've had is the past at other places I realize now they were just decent katsu. Other highlights here are their house made sesame dressing - so good. They sliced the cabbage salad so thin that in combination with the sesame dressing it was a great combo. I usually don't like that much raw cabbage but I ate every bit of it. The ambience is airy and cool. The staff were really great and asked us about any allergies. We'd walked by this place before and seen a line out the door. Now we know why.

Still comes with a little side of pickles, and unlimited rice, cabbage, and miso soup. No katsu sauce. The katsu was fried to perfection. Juicy, tender, cant complain. But since they serve it in a broth, it does get soggy really quick. Still good, but after a few minutes its just soggy. The broth is nice with rice; comforting kind of meal. The unlimited rice/soup/cabbage is just icing on the cake. My dining partner had the Kake udon (pretty good, noodles good texture and slightly smaller strands than most places) and Menchi Cheese side - basically a pork meatball with cheese and deep fried katsu-style, served with katsu sauce. This was excellent. My original review still stands. Excellent katsu, plus they have the consistency and reliability. $28-30/meal and its plenty of food for 1, especially with unlimited cabbage/rice/soup. Restaurant is nice and comfortable, good spacing and not cramped. Easy recommend. 5/5.

Yeah... it does. The fish? BUTTERY. fresh. melt-in-your-mouth perfection. You can tell immediately -- this is Vancouver-level sushi. And if you know, you know... the seafood here just hits different. Salmon = insanely fresh, rich, and silky Rice = perfectly seasoned (subtle, balanced, never overpowering) Presentation = clean, minimal, all about letting the fish shine What I really love? It's not trying to be trendy or flashy. No gimmicks -- just proper, high-quality sushi done right. Exactly what you want when you're downtown and craving something reliable but still hits. Service was quick, relaxed, and no fuss -- ideal for a casual lunch or a lowkey dinner. Final thoughts: If you're on Robson and need a sushi fix, this is one of those quietly solid gems that never misses. Not overhyped... just consistently good.

My partner and I ordered the Takenaka omakase course and it was unreal -- genuinely one of those meals you don't stop thinking about after. I love uni, and this absolutely delivered. There was both American and Japanese uni, and everything tasted incredibly fresh, rich, and deeply umami in the best way possible. The staff were amazing and so friendly, and the restaurant itself had the perfect vibe -- intimate, intentional, and special without feeling stuffy. This was the one place I marked as a MUST GO on our itinerary, and it exceeded every expectation. Do not skip this spot if you're in Vancouver.
