It's Burnaby's finest buffet restaurant offers a great variety of culinary delights, catering to every palate with international cuisines and regional delicacies. The exceptional quality of food, meticulously prepared with a harmonious blend of flavors, showcases the culinary expertise of the talented chefs. The warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the Owner Suzan and Austin adds to the dining experience, while the elegant ambience provides comfort and privacy. The restaurant's focus on cleanliness and hygiene ensures a safe and hygienic environment, thanks to Kaylee, Colin and Shaban who takes care of everything. A must-visit destination for food lovers, guaranteeing an unforgettable gastronomic journey.

Very reasonable for what you get in today's prices!! July 2019

Let's be frank here, fans that like Uncle Willy is because this has become a "collective memory" for us Vancouverites, its an icon for people growing up in the late 80's and 90's, the food they serve, the cutlery they use (still using), and the menu items all harkens to a more simpler days when Vancouver is still considered a sleepy town and coming to Uncle Willy's in itself is a treat!! In today's fast changing taste of consumers and ever demanding diners, keeping up with the trend is almost impossible! So for me, rediscovering this "gem" is like revisiting a living museum, they still have my favourite: Fried Chicken, Baked Ham, Roast Beef and their Curried Chickpeas! It is sad to see that their business is going down with every visit, on a Friday night there are only about 10 tables in a dining room that can hold a big banquet! As I will be out of town for about 4 months, I hope that they will still be here upon my return!!

Never have I ever had a bad time at Uncle Willy's - you can put that on my grave. If you ever tell me how terrible Uncle Willy's is, I am going to tell you you really need to adjust your expectations because you are doing it all wrong. There is nothing like the idea of a buffet that strikes happiness into my heart because the idea that you can walk up to a the table and get any food you want and as much of it as you want for one set up front price is the very definition of happiness. Call it nostalgia, call it logic, call it whatever - but Uncle Willy's just makes sense. No lineup, under $20, unlimited warm food, and laughter - easily the best night I've had this week. Buffet strategy is important but at Uncle Willy's I throw everything to the wind and do what I want. Small sample of the Chicken Noodle Soup for me just to give it a try but I don't waste much stomach space on that even though it is shockingly flavourfull and full of chicken, noodles, and vegetables. A few lettuce leaves doused in ranch dressing, croutons, and simulated bacon bits for nutrients, and then a dollop each of macaroni, pasta, tortellini, and potato salad brings me a disproportionate level of happiness. You heard me talk about the bacon bits and I am not messing around here. Simulated bacon bits have a good chunk of my heart and even if they take a day from my life each time I indulge in them - worth it. Simulated bacon bits on everything, make it rain, Cheese and potato pierogies smothered in sour cream and simulated bacon bits are just as delicious as you would expect and always a guilty pleasure for me here. Roast and ham - they knocked it out of the park tonight. I actually didn't try the ham but it looked delicious and the roast beef was seasoned well with red peeking out. Colour me impressed. Mashed potatoes, crispy french fries, spaghetti and meat sauce sprinkled with grated Kraft parmesan, seafood a la king, and fried chicken - my heart was basically soaring at this point. I've long said the Fried Chicken game is strong at Uncle Willy's and I'm not wrong. Hot, crispy, and juicy drumsticks - nothing complicated here, just do what feels good. Rice, curry, corn, vegetables, roasted chicken, spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, chow mein, pizza bread - I'll admit I spent little to no time on these items but I'm sure they were A-OK. Sushi is a thing Uncle Willy's also does and I did not dabble because I am not crazy but I am not stopping you. I have it on good authority that the sushi is something like "gas station sushi" and that it won't kill you - so no risk, no reward. No Dungeness crab tonight, but I do have to mention that one fateful night this past spring when Ian and encountered delicious asian inspired Dungeness Crab at Uncle Willy's and we haven't been the same since. No luck tonight, but there is always next time. Do not forget about the desserts and the cola machine because this is important. Self-serve soft serve in your cola for an ice cream float transports you straight back to childhood - a simpler time, a happier time. An assortment of diabetic desserts, rice pudding, and apple rhubarb sauce all served with a generous dollop of soft serve. Quality. Full of friendship, laughter, and good value eats - would I return? Come on now. If you come here expecting 5 star quality food, I feel real bad for you. But if you come here with a winning attitude, a zeal for life and the unknown, and are looking for a good time, then you can sit with us. MEET ME AT THE BUFFET.

If there is 0 star, they deserve the one ,0 .arrive at 19:00 6 kinds sorts box ,no sea food .so bad .

I will not admit that I like shitty Chinese food buffet but this is one of them.. barely any choices on the buffet...mostly all dried out from sitting in the line all day but that's what I came here for. The part that irks me is when I try to tip the the wait staff, I ask to change $20 to tip my waiter and the cashier states.."we're not a bank" and offers to charge me $4 to get change for a $20... wow! If it wasn't for the wait staff, I wouldn't have tipped anything but I'm always compelled to help others, especially when they worked for it. You guys suck.

Tried the uncle Willy's buffet for the first time for dinner today. It's $17.99 plus tax on weekends and you tip before you eat. Overall this is a good value buffet. The food itself isn't the greatest, however there is a lot of choice and value for the low price. They have a salad bar, a couple pastas, salmon, roast beef, ham and chicken. There was sweet and sour pork but that was depleted by the time I arrived at 730pm on a Saturday and was not replaced. There was also fish and chips, stew, curry, 2 soups, breads, chow mein, spring rolls and a few other items. The pop machine was broken and only dispensing carbonated water. The desert selection was cafeteria style. The had soft serve ice cream, a few cakes, pudding and jello. It's in a refrigerated section. This is a good buffet if you like quantity and aren't too fussy about flavour and quality. It's fairly affordable compared to other options in the area and other buffets. Service was friendly and the two guys clearing plates were doing their best.

I have been wanting to come back for the longest time as the last time I stepped foot in here was way back into the 1990s. It seemed like many people had the same memories of Uncle Willy's of the 1990s and the fried chicken. The food option has expanded to include fried rice, fried noodles, and more desserts? Frankly all I remembered was the delicious fried chicken and soft serve ice cream. I also recalled many other fried stuff which was not very nice. Fast forward to 2018. I will say stick with the fried chicken, and maybe add the mashed potatoes with gravy and corn and broccoli to feel healthy. Skip the others. The soft serve took a long time to dispense and was more ice than cream. They did not come around to clear our plates, I just left them on other tables.

Uncle Wiiley's Buffet in Burnaby: Arrived right at opening. Utube shows staff wearing gloves serving, we were given ONE very thin glove. We served ourself with one gloved hand. There was no steam coming from the steam tables. The food was room temperature. People were touching cutlery and mugs and cups with ungloved hands. People were not always 6feet apart. There should have been staff reminding people to use the single thin glove and make sure customers were six feet apart. We did not enjoy our meal. Lunch was 17.95. Recomendations: Be more covid compliant by supervising and reminding customers of covid rules. Hotter Steam tables. AND DON'T advertise Free Birthdsy dinner . Read the small print. Birthday person only gets 20% IF they are with 5 people and 50% if they are with More than 5 people.

The Buffet was closed down for a while during the pandemic but reopened in late 2022…read more Grand Villa Casino had a contest where if you swipe your casino "Encore" loyalty card on the contest machine, you'd have a chance to instantly win things such as free casino plays and restaurant coupons. A cash prize was offered as well. My friend was lucky enough to win a 2 for 1 coupon for Grand Villa's buffet and invited me over to try it out. Lucky me. I haven't visited Grand Villa Casino's Buffet in about 5 years so I was interested to see if anything changed since then. When we approached the entrance, there was no line up and there were plenty of seats available in the buffet. This was around 4pm on a Sunday. I took a glance at the food available for the day and it looked decent but nothing stood out, unfortunately. Here's a rundown of everything they offered that day. For soups they got vegetarian chili and chicken gumbo. The chicken gumbo was not good and my friend couldn't finish it. Just avoid the soups. For salads, they got romaine, kale, macaroni, coleslaw, and potato. I tried a bit of the kale and the macaroni salads and it was surprisingly tasty. For mains they got corn on the cob, corn bread, waffles, fried chicken, baked beans, mac and cheese, beef brisket, bbq ribs, and fried basa fish. The corn bread was pretty bland. It needs more flavor. The fried chicken is like the chicken you would buy at a superstore or walmart. Very average. It was drier than I preferred. The breaded skin was kinda tasteless. Worse than KFC. The mac and cheese was actually good. Very cheesy, tasty, and looked pretty yummy. The BBQ ribs were alright. It had very little meat on it. The sauce was tastier than I expected. The basa fried fish is nothing to write home about. Very average. It didn't have much flavor and tasted like the fish you would buy in the supermarket frozen dinner food section and pop it in the oven. The beef brisket was too tough, dry, and lacked flavor. Needs more seasoning. I think it was a tad overcooked. At the carving station, they had roast beef. It's not bad at all! The beef did not have any fat and it was tender and not dry. You can try it with dijon mustard or demi-glace sauce. I liked it with the dijon mustard. For pop, they got a coca cola freestyle machine with literally dozens of options of different types of pop. Coke, Barqs, Sprite, Fanta, and more. I have no complaints about the drinks. For dessert, they got mini donuts, double chocolate cake with chocolate icing and flakes on top, Red Velvet cake, chocolate brownies, and a fruit platter. They also have ice cream with a small selection of toppings. The mini donuts were sweet and tasty. They appear to be freshly baked. I liked the chocolate brownies a lot. It wasn't overly sweet but it was tasty. The chocolate cake was decent. It was a tad too sweet and tasted like an average chocolate cake overall. The red velvet cake was very average tasting as well. My friend didn't like the chocolate ice cream at all and could not finish it after taking a bite. There might have been a few more desserts and drinks available that I missed but I didn't take a good look. Besides the average quality food, the service by the wait staff and the dining area was actually better than other restaurants. The wait staff took away our plates very quickly after we were done with them. They were friendly and fast when we entered the restaurant and during our visit. I have no complaints about the service. The dining area was spacious and clean. The chairs had thick pillow cushions on them so it was better than an average dining chair. They had large windows that let the sunlight in. The decor was minimal but nicer than an average family restaurant. Overall, at the regular price of $33.99 per person, I would hesitate to recommend Grand Villa's Casino Buffet to anybody for the quality of the food that's offered. It really needs improvement. The chefs need to replace what it has now with better than average tasting food to ask for that price. I wouldn't think of going again unless i scored a 2 for 1 coupon because there are plenty of restaurants where your $34 can be better spent. 2.5 out of 5 stars rounded up to 3 stars since yelp doesn't do half stars.

He did similar if not the same to other people. He would trade places every 30 minutes or so with another guy. There was HUGE and noticeable difference between servers. The other guy was very proud of his work station and cleaned up around the area while waiting for the next customer. I'll pass on this place for future events.
