Happy Lamb Hotpot - Coquitlam location 1001-1163 Pinetree Way Coquitlam (by Henderson Mall) Parking - Rooftop of Henderson Mall Entrance - outside Henderson Mall by Pinetree Way ( No access inside the mall) https://happylambhotpotca.com/ We decided to celebrate one of our family member's birthday. Our first time to Hapoy Lamh Hotpot - AYCE Apparently if you go there on your birthday with party of 4 or more. Birthday person gets a complimentary meal ( just have to show your ID). You get to chose your broth for $11.99 We chose the AYCE Dinner Combo They have a wide selection of choices from meat to seafood including fishball & meatballs, mutton dumplings, fish slices etc. Definitely something for everyone! The food were fresh, the raw prawns when cooked were firm & sweet. I was impressed with the quality of the food & its choices. The robot Carrie's the tray of lamb & beef slices with the server, it was so cute...it even says "Thank you" & "Goodbye" before it leaves. Service was good, server checked on the soup level, your water glass & your teapot. It was a great lunch, all of us went home & had a nap! Meat/Food coma

I visited here about a month ago for a hot pot. I'm totally obsessed with hotpot particularly in cold days in Vancouver. Happy Lamb in Coquitlam had a smaller selection in meat and toppings, bur food was good. I had AYCE lunch combo for $20.99. Server brought meat while everything else is self-serve (eg. watercress, mushrooms, tofu, garlic beef, etc). They also had chicken wings, spring rolls, sesame balls and noodles on the side. One special thing about this location is the robot that brings you meats. The price is cheaper than most places these days. It's usually $25.98 including the broth and is included with pop. Lunch special is pretty decent. I'd recommend this place to everyone who wants affordable delish hot pot. The female server was very friendly.

Reasonably priced all you can eat food. I like the self-serve area, particularly for vegetables -- I can choose what I want, and get as much as I need. You only need to ask for a few different types of meat, but generally most of what you need is self serve. They do not have many floor staff as a result, but they were really efficient and tentative to all tables.

Amazing all you can eat hot pot! You choose a soup base and then you can go off and grab all the food you would like. Great assortment of veggies, meat, noodles, fish balls, seafood, etc. The sauce bar is also stocked with peanut sauce, satay sauce, soy sauce, garlic, green onion, cilantro, etc. Unlimited pop is also included. You have to ask the servers for beef and lamb, but the robot is nice and quick. Ice cream at the end of the meal is a must!

My first time here. Was impressed with the well appointed, well ventilated interiors and overall cleanliness of the place. The service was also friendly and perfectly timed. Broth flavor and sauce selections were just ok. Food safety regulation was clearly not being followed with raw meats being stored above raw vegetables in the self serve refrigerated showcase. Showcase had a varied and good selection of veggies, meats, carbs and seafood. Quality of sliced meats was impressive for the price point. Garlic beef was the only item that bad - slimy in texture but in an off putting way .. possibly from over tenderization?? Ample free and safe parking on the rooftop of Henderson Mall, even after hours. One of the most reasonably priced AYCE hotpots. Would def return for the good value.

Let me start off by saying this is an AYCE place. It wasn't too busy when I went and there is paid parking located in Henderson Place. I ordered the premium option which came with the Lamb and the premium meat. They also have a selection of seafood balls and seafood in general like : Oyster, fish, crab and shrimp. There is also a selection of fresh vegetables. The dining experience was good. The broth had good flavour and the side options were good. The service was good. The place has a casual setting. It's worth a visit I think

You can eat so much for $19.99, there are many varieties and not many flavors. After all, it is only 20, what else can you expect?

I bought a Groupon to have dinner with B. The Groupon was not a great deal given the amount of food we got. I think there are better deals outside of Groupon. Anyways. The Groupon came with the following for 2 people: -Premium Lamb Shoulder (15 Slices) -Marbled Beef (15 Slices) -Tender Chicken Filet -White Prawn -Cod Fish Filet -Pork And Shrimp Dumplings -Assorted Meatball Platter -Fish Tofu -Leafy Vegetables -U-Don -Dessert: Lychee Goji Berry Pudding -the Half and Half Soup Broth The portion of each item was very small. The price of the Groupon was $53. Other than the lamb, beef and meatballs, everything was meh. For a little bit more, the AYCE would be a better deal. In terms of food freshness, it was ok. There was almost no service. The food came all at once which was good. The thing that didn't impress me was their sauces. Seems like their sauces were nothing special. I do like the variety. But you can easily get each item / sauces from T&T. The robot waitress was very cute.

Came here for dinner with my parents and it was a self serve AYCE hotpot place which I thought was kinda fun. Hotpot is already interactive so to pick your own hotpot items yourself was a nice change. They kept replenishing items that would go low and every item was super fresh. Got the regular AYCE menu and at $30.99 it was a good deal compared to other AYCE hotpot places. But the best part surprisingly was the service. Only two servers working tonight and the tables were constantly clean, drinks were refilled and most importantly, they were always smiling. Lily and Mila were so genuinely friendly that it made for a pleasant dining experience especially from an Asian restaurant where good service is rare. This might be my new go to AYCE hotpot place in Coquitlam.

This was our first time at this location for lunch. Their only option was AYCE plus the price of the broth. Their food selection was pretty good. There were some cooked items included. The sauce bar was basic with the standard options you would expect. Additionally, there were items you can pay extra for such as soda drinks and dessert. Service was alright. Staff dropped off plates of beef and lamb. Staff stopped by regularly to clear dirty plates and refill drinks. Overall, it was a decent meal. Kids under 5 can eat for free which is great since AYCE can get pricey.

What I find it fun was their robotic cat that delivers your order to you. The food was alright but would have been good if they have more selections in sauces. 3.5/5 for overall service and food quality

Alleged spicy mala soup base, but it really isn't.

The Happy Lamb leaves a lot to be desired with the food being below average and the server a bit on the excessive side with the presentment of the check and a huge presence when paying cash and expecting a tip....more on that later. Came for lunch and order the Meat solo pot special with fatty beef and fatty lamb, lettuce, cabbage, noodles sweet potato slices and lamb dumplings. The meat was acceptable but I wouldn't exactly cite it as quality cuts. The meat was excessively thin, more so than other hot pots I have had in Vancouver area. The noodles definitely are not made in the shop and the dumplings were a disgusting machine made product that was "perfectly formed" and frozen. So disappointing that when you come to such a traditional Chinese restaurant that this type of food quality is presented. Also ordered was the side dish of mushrooms and you can select two. This was quite fresh and the quantity was great. Again, with the poor quality soup base, this quality was not able to be appreciated. Online menu shows lotus root available, server says never had it. Also as mentioned in other reviews, the sauce bar was rather on the weak side with many of the "standard" items missing. When I ordered I was not given the choice of a base, and was brought the bone base. I requested that I wanted a spicy mala soup base expecting that undeniable numbing sensation so integral to a spicy hot pot. So the server takes the first base away and then quickly returns with what appears to be the same pan she took away and simply some red small liquid and a few cut up chilis. There was no spicy flavor what so ever. This was very disappointing. Presentation: Excellent Soup/broth: Poor Beef: Lacking Lamb: Lacking Noodles: Not fresh Dumplings: Frozen and no flavor Mushrooms: Excellent Heineken: Excellent At the end of meal and check presented, I was paying with cash. Quite a bit of the meal was left uneaten. The server asked me if everything was all right. I said it was acceptable. Then paid my bill with a very small tip. Server then asked again, I responded the same. She then stood there and said was I sure. I then said there wasn't any additional tip coming. What was surprising to me was the amount of attention paid to me at the end of my meal, surfing for a tip, as opposed to not checking during the meal as it was quite evident that the amount of my meal being consumed and the pace was suggestive that not all was well. The restaurant had 4 tables other than me. I didn't observe her checking on any of the other tables as well. PS: The cat robot was a nice touch!

I saw a low rating or bad reviews about this hot pot place on Yelp and a Groupon deal at $78 for four people. I decided to buy the Groupon deal especially I got 20% off of the promo price. It was a really good deal. Although the rating was low or the reviews were bad, a LOTS of people came here for dinner and some were even waiting at the door. The service was okay. Servers were busy serving so many customers at the same time. I could imagine they were stressed out as well. I wouldn't expect them to smile or please all customers all the time. The restaurant was clean and organized. It was very spacious with lots of chairs and tables. The them colour of the restaurant is lime green. The restaurant looks modern with the "sheep" decorations. We used the Groupon deal for four people. We didn't wait for a long time. All the food came out quickly. That was great! We had an original soup base (with some Chinese herbals). The soup base tasted good! The meat balls were freshly made in house. There were a lot of meat such as chicken, lamb and beef. There were also fish and prawns as well as some pork and prawn dumplings. There were two different types of veggies. Last but not least, there was a dish of Chinese desserts. It was a lychee jello or something like that. It was tasted good. Not too sweet. We had paid on the Groupon website already, so we only paid for tax and tips. We might come back here for all you can eat or order different varieties of food instead of doing the set dinner. Then we can try a different soup base and other types of food. Overall, we had a good eating experience here other than that we were sitting next to a table with a toddler that he screamed and cried so much.

Unlike the Burnaby location, their broths are either beef or pork. I don't eat either so I probably wouldn't come to this specific location.

It's small but has quite many seats, the lady is very friendly. She gave me a photo album to order from which is so fun and I have never seen anything like this before and every restaurant should 10000000% do the same. I ordered the 酸辣肥肠粉 pork intestine sour spicy noodle(added an egg) and potato shreds cold stir凉拌土豆丝 Ok I have to to say, the potato dish is THE BEST i have had in canada and it is a very very high compliment from me, since I order that whenever I can. It's soooo good and I ate the whole plate in a few mins. The pork intestine noodle is so so, I wish there are more pork intestine, I had 4-5 pieces and they r quite small, the egg tho, is sooooo good, it's worth it to add one to the noodle. They also add a ton of peanuts so if u have allergies u need to tell them, they wont ask u. She also gave me a small ice jelly dessert for free in the end, it tastes so good??!!! I am so full at this point otherwise I would ask if I can eat a full portion one lol Overall I will come back!

Both me and my friend needed to wait a few minutes till someone left, and when we got seated, they gave us their regular menu, and later on gave us a picture book.. and if you guessed it.... everything on their menu with a separate picture. My friend ordered his bowl of spicy pork chop glass noodles in soup, and I had a dry version of spicy noodles with pork. We also ordered their deep fried tofu, deep fried chicken, and a plate of spicy cucumber. Every dish was done just right, and what I mean by that is that every hot dish seemed to be made to order, and it was confirmed when we spoke to the lady there. The spicy cucumber dish came out, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients, the cucumber, although the chili oil used was spicy, due to the freshness of the cucumber, was sweet too. The deep fried tofu had a nice hard outer deep fried shell, and yet the inside was soft and really hot, the chicken took the longest, but this was worth waiting for, with the thin deep fried batter, I don't think I have ever had chicken this hot in temperature, and it was great. Both noodle dishes were huge, and I wondered how my friend ended up eating all of his, I had to take 1/3 of mine home as it was too much. We also ordered a plum drink and a hawthorne drink and at the end was served complimentary jelly as dessert. This was a great meal and if you are in the area, I would recommend you try this place out.

Unfortunately, we didn't fare so well with the rest of our meal. I've always wanted to try the Dan-Dan Noodles and I even opted for the Blade-Sheared Noodles. The noodles were overdone and so soft and slimy. It also didn't help that the extremely oily peanut sauce tasted like melted store-bought peanut butter with a smattering of minced pork. It wasn't even spicy as described. We also ordered the ironically dry and plain Green Onion Beef with Black Pepper Sauce. Not sure if the sauce spilled or evaporated but the container was devoid of any liquid. If it wasn't for the wonderful baos, my revised rating would have been 2 stars. Not really an authentic Szechuan restaurant. 30 years ago, most chinese cuisines were cooked by hong kongers or south chinese people. So, most of these dishes are going to be a southern take on it. Hot and sour soup - price is awesome. $11 enough for at least 6 bowls. Souo base is missing a bit of flavor but it is jam packed with ingredients. Drunken chicken - it was ok. Little on the salty side. Shanghainese pan fried pork buns - these were probably the worst I've had. Not made in house and not properly pan fried. No juice, super dry, no fried bottom crust. Bean curd wrapped pork dim sum - surprisingly this came out last. At least 20 min has passed. This is a steamed dish but it came out with dried edges like it was sitting on a dry heater.
