Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Crystal Mall, serving an interesting combination of dimsum, Cantonese BBQ and hotpot. We went there for the all you can eat hotpot, which was $43.99 per person for dinner. They were pretty busy on a Friday night, although we were able to get a table because some reservation didn't show up. Medium sized interior with mostly booth seating, and the entrance is narrower and expands to the back. It's a personal hotpot so each person gets their own stove and order their own soup base. Ordering is done via a tablet. They also have cooked dishes like skewers, fried mantou and other things on the menu in addition to the hotpot ingredients. Some of the items cost extra and are labeled with the cost. In the center, they have the sauce bar, desserts bar of mostly Chinese jellos and also an ingredients bar with things like spam and quail eggs. I got the satay broth and it was decent. Ingredients are served reasonably quickly. The quality of the meat is decent. The milk-marinated beef is actually soft, and the usual sliced ribeye, lamb shoulder and pork belly are fine. The cooked dishes are decent as well, as we tried their pork trotters, fried mussels, and lamb skewers. The selection for hotpot ingredient is as you'd expect for an AYCE place, but the cooked food selection is a bonus. Definitely stuffed myself and was a satisfying meal on a cold winter day. Wow it's been a minute since i've gone back to Marble and they really stepped up their game. I love the new layout compared to before and the open sauce bar concept along with dessert bar and a lot of veggies / balls/ noodles etc self serve area and simple to use tablet ordering! Prices are still as amazing as i remembered and the service is so consistent ... this time there was skewers added and they're soooo good! You definitely need to try the enoki beef skewer! Tried their hot pot few times but it was our first time trying their dim sum. There is a deal combo where you pay $18 for a congee and a dim sum dish. I love their congee base. It's the thick fluffy kind not the watery one. We also ordered a claypot rice and roast pork. Their roast pork is just ok... the skin is crispy but all the skin fell off from the way they cut it. Wanted to give this spot a chance as my group had tried the other big name one down the street and most of us hadn't tried this one. Although our reservation was on a Friday night at 6pm to celebrate the Christmas festivities, there was hardly anyone in the restaurant - yay for my usual quiet restaurant/small shop loving self but in hindsight perhaps it was a sign.... Upon entering, the restaurant is spacious. We were seated in the booths in the back but the configuration of the booth and tables were kind of tight so it was inconvenient to move in and out of the booth. Now, the real issue. When we were figuring out which restaurant to pick, we checked out their online dinner menu and it had a good range of items. However, when we were seated and ordering from the tablet, a LOT of the items on the menu were not there... and when we ordered certain items, some items just never showed up. When we followed up on some items cause some of them were additional charges, that's when staff brought them out or we were then advised that they "didn't make" any house made noodles today or didn't have chrysanthemum. 6pm seems like an early dinner service, how could stuff have ran out so soon. We did notice after we put in our orders though, that there's also a section of grab your own veg, fish tofus and a few items by the sauce bar. So despite the items not showing up on the tablet, some items were help yourself including their desserts. Overall, disappointing for AYCE when things aren't available or required additional charges. TikTok strikes again! After seeing a local foodie rave about a late-night, all-you-can-eat hot pot spot, I couldn't resist the craving. Even though Burnaby is a bit of a trek for me, I knew I had to give it a try. My friend and I arrived around 9:30 on a Saturday night. Surprisingly, the parking lot was the emptiest I've ever seen--it's been years since I've found a spot on the top level! But when we got to the restaurant, it was packed. The front desk told us it would be a 45-minute wait, so we put our names down while considering other options. We had barely walked away from the entrance when, to our surprise, we got a call that our table was ready--talk about luck, especially since we were starving! We were seated in a spacious booth that could easily fit six people. Ordering was done through an iPad, which made it easy to browse both the all-you-can-eat options and additional add-ons. Naturally, we went all out and ordered a variety of dishes. There was even a section of the restaurant where clay pot rice was being cooked, which added to the atmosphere. Never thought of coming here for dim sum since I thought it was a hot pot place but it was very good! Everything is fresh and the place is quite clean. It's your typical HK cafe type of service (homey and cozy no frills) so it's nothing fancy like the seafood restaurants! Food was just okay. We went for AYCE and seemed like the prices increased since I last came here a year ago. Some items on the menu were by the piece and some were by the plate depending on what you order. So I ordered 4 plates of the same vegetable (chrysanthemum leaves) and only received what appears to be one plate and had to question the waitress a couple of times where is the rest of my order. Also asked why our other orders were taking so long to arrive. Soup broths are an additional cost. How is it considered hotpot if it doesn't come with soup for the AYCE price?! I tried the congee and dimsum special. For $13.50 you get a choice of congee and selected dimsum. I chose the preserved egg and meat congee with beef rice roll. The congee was made fresh on the spot in the station set up in the middle of the restaurant. It was smooth and tasty. The rice roll was not too bad though the skin was a bit thick. I think it will be tough once it's cold. I also ordered a roast duck rice box to go. It was a good deal at $9.99. Unfortunately the duck meat I got was mostly the bony pieces. And it was very fatty. Despite the flood of luxury hot pot restaurants that have been entering the market in Metro Vancouver, Marble House Eatery still continues to be one of my top picks. As an AYCE hot pot restaurant at night, Marble Pot has a lot to like about it. The quality of ingredients are extremely solid for the price, and the selection of side dishes, desserts, and much more included with the menu is quite impressive. Service is... serviceable, which is more or less what one might expect from a restaurant focused on pushing out large quantities of food to its diners. Still, despite occasionally missing and order here and there, I found that by AYCE standards, the staff are always quick to get you what you order. On a side note, Marble House is also great for its takeout and delivery deals. You can easily find a sizeable meal for around $10 during lunch time as in addition to hot pot, Marble Pot also has HK BBQ and dim sum options as well. I've been to marble house for their AYCE hot pot after a long ski/snowboard day and remembered it being nothing memorable - and that was mutually agreed on by the other hungry-hippos in the group post-skiing. On a recent occasion, my family and I stumbled in front of marble house after groceries at the market to find out they now offer dimsum during the day. We're big fans of dimsum & congee! We loved the fact that congee was heated up in a clay pot in front of you and served piping hot (big win in the eyes of Asian parents), they also make Cheung fun aka rice rolls fresh to order. They were silky smooth and 100p slurp worth. The classic dimsum items were on par with the rest of town. All the Marbles... My friends and I used to frequent all the AYCE places by the Top Gun restaurant group, but they all seemed to be gone during the pandemic?!? Now this place replaced one of its AYCE spot. Anyways, passed by this place pretty often when mopping around Crystal Mall, but decided to come here for the first time. As far as I remember, there's only some minor changes done here since the previous restaurant. Anyways, here's what I ordered; 1. AYCE hot pot. $37.95/ person. I ordered each plate of the different beef slices but somehow they magically appeared even before I sent in my order and certain dishes randomly brought out without me ordering them. The meats were still pretty frozen up in rolls besides the first plate of beef. The veggies and other food were okay. The desserts such as the fresh tofu puddings and cotton candy were legit! 2. Double soup base (hot spicy & golden soup). The golden soup had a little fresh abalone in it lol. Overall pretty basic soup base and taste wise. 3. Pork tripe with white pepper soup base. Light peppery pork bone taste. 4. Deep fried salt and pepper tofu. Cubed it a bit too small. 5. All available sauce and condiments. $5.99/ table. 6. All you can drink pop/ lemon iced tea. $3 7. Side of condensed milk for deep fried buns. $0.75 This place was like your typical AYCE hot pot place like before the pandemic, a very casual atmosphere and vibe. The service was decently okay, all the staffs were always moving and attentive especially in clearing away the empty dishes and refilling the soup bases. As for the food, they were overall pretty basic and average. I would say it's about $67/ person with all the extras, tax and tips in. With this price tag, it might struggle a bit because across the street, Cho Cho hot pot by Dolar Shop, is more higher end AYCE hotpot with better options for about the same price . Satisfying hotpot We came here with a few friends for a birthday celebration. It's one of the few all you can eat hotpot place that accommodates over 8 people. Nothing is cheap these days. And even tho it's advertised as $38 ayce, after the soup base, and a few minor add on, tax and tips, it easily becomes a $55+ meal. Meat selections are good, but lacking a few items like oysters. And there are many that has an add on price. This place go by individual pot, which is nice. I'd say it's more hygienic and convenient, especially in large groups. One thing that really stood out for me with the restaurant is the selection of desserts. There's a variety of pudding, ice cream and even cotton candy. My mom told me to come here to grab a BBQ duck for her. Their BBQ meat are fresh and are made daily. The duck was nice and crispy and flavorful. For an extra $2, they cut it in pieces. In the morning/afternoon, they have dim sum here. At night they serve hotpot. They have monthly special very frequent. They once also had a senior discount that applied to the entire table. Our friends recommended this hotpot place because they know how much I like hotpot. I mean, who doesn't?! Especially during the cold weather, hotpot makes everything better. We took our friend to this place for his birthday and enjoy some good food. It was not disappointing at all. The AYCE menu has a large variety of choices, from different kind of meat, to seafood and veggies. They even have chinese donut for all you can eat, which is my daughter's favorite. The meat are fresh and came with a nice presentation. We are able to choose how many pieces we want on the menu. For the pricing, it's $34.99 per adult, and free for children under 4 years old. If over, it's $29.99, which is a bit expensive imo. It comes with two kinds of dipping sauce, satay and soy sauce. Everything else is extra for $1.5, but they gave you a large portion. When it comes to soup base, they have over 8 types to choose from for an extra $5. If you want two kinds, you can mix and match up to 5 kinds for $8. It definitely adds up to your total bill. I would say, come very hungry if you want to get your money worth. The service is pretty good for the most part, however, I think they are very understaffed, because we have noticed a delay in response to our requests. During a recent trip to BC, we decided on dim sum. My husband pulled up Yelp and found Marble House Eatery. Off we went, down the long boulevard leading toward Metrotown. Imagine our surprise when we pulled up next to The Crystal Mall. We somehow end up there during every trip to BC. This time, rather than hitting up the food court, we walked the curving hallways until we came upon a nondescript mall entrance where, behind the front hostess counter, table after table was filled with families and friends having hot pots or dim sum. I didn't realize that there were other places to eat in they mall besides the food court. Marble House actually goes quite far back, away from the mall entrance. Each table has a cooktop for the hot pots. We were driving dim sum and weren't disappointed by the juicy hargow, tasty chicken feet, perfectly cooked gai lan, and perhaps the best egg tarts I have had since the olden days of Mon Hei in Seattle. Because there's ventilation for the cook tops/hot pots, we felt very comfortable eating here (we're still pretty careful about public spaces with Covid lingering), plus all of the waitstaff were fully masked. Prices were reasonable considering the variety and quality of the food. Be patient with parking because it's always busy. Another great spot for ayce hotpot. About $45 pp after tip, and there are lots of interesting options to eat. There best part was the super attentive service and recommendations from the waiter and they kept the drinks topped up without being asked. Presentation was lovely and the beef brisket pot was surprisingly large. Don't be deterred by the charge for sauces- it seems each table comes with one reasonably sized dish of Sa Cha sauce and another of soy sauce. Anything after that would be extra charges I think (but not totally sure). The three of us only just finished the provided sauces and didn't need to order more. My friends enjoyed their Tom yum soup while I liked my plain Jane pork bone broth. Try the "gluten" which comes as a large puffy looking donut that you can cook in your pot and it deflates slowly; quite fun! Vaccine passports checked and plenty of distance between other dinners due to the large spacious booths. Recommendations: ask for a traditional hotpot ladle to grab all the crystal noodles before they melt at the bottom of the pot! They're parboiled so they cook super fast compared to the other places that give you the dried noodles. Pro tip: Seniors can dine for $18.99 on Tuesday nights! The prices are a little higher. If you get a hot bowl, they will cook it in front of you ( they put the hot bowl with the raw items on an individual burner and it cooks, they come around every so often to see if it's cooked ). Marble House Eatery gives diners high quality ingredients and a great dining experience at a reasonable price. A little steeper in price than the alternatives, but it would tend to be more affordable than the premium a la carte places. With a variety of soup base options, you're off to a good start with any of them. I went with the more traditional pork bone broth, while my wife chose the Szechuan spicy one. I was happy with my choice and my wife said her birth was the perfect amount of heat. Meats, veggies, and everything in between is available including some of my favourites likes prawns, chicken wings, deep fried pork skin, bean curd sticks, and boneless beef short rib. At no time did we feel like we weren't provided with a level of service you'd expect from a hot pot joint. I'd say the host did a great job making amends for our long wait time by checking in on us multiple times to ensure everything was to our liking. I will definitely check this place out again. This review is strictly for their barbecue duck. Their whole duck is 20 bucks, if you buy duck you know that's pretty cheap. Other places have them for at least 27 bucks and others I've seen up to 30. The duck is flavorful and has a nice crispy skin. The only catch is they don't cut it up for you. If you want them to cut it up for you there is I think a 2 dollar fee which is still pretty cheap. The people who work there have been pretty nice and friendly. Decided to try out the place after Tik Tok. Not disappointed... It's located on the 2nd floor of Crystal Mall. The restaurant is not very big, reservations are highly recommended.. I believed they have 2 seating for dinner, either 5.30pm or 7.30pm. They don't really specify you only have 2 hours to eat. Which is sufficient to stuff your stomach in a AYCE hotpot. Ingredients are FRESH... no questionable items. Service is good & efficient. Their specialty is durian mochi which you can pre-order for $8.99 for 4 mochi. Worth every cent if you love durian, it is even better than Kirin's- hands down! So it is $35 pp for AYCE plus you pay $5 extra for the individual hotpot,they had the pork bone to herbal soup to spicy soup base... something for everyone's tastebuds. As per recommendation, the short ribs were good. Easy on the fatty beef, as per name, the meat is quite fatty. All the fishball & meatballs were good. That includes the seafood selection. Grand opening on September 15th, 2021 on the second floor in Crystal mall. Marble House offers lots of variety from dim sum, Chinese BBQ meats, and hot pot. We came today to try their dim sum and also grab a duck to-go. Their dim sum items are moderate. The only item I like is the steamed rice roll with Chinese donut. There's some small dried shrimps on the rice wrapper, which make it more tasty and flavorful. Make sure to check out their BBQ items and grab a duck to go if you visit them. ONE STAR. I WILL GIVE NEGATIVE IF IT WAS AN OPTION. BUT THEY KEEP DELETING MY REVIEWS SO I WILL TRY TWO. Absolute unethical practices and atrocious personality from the manager. I wrote a long review previously and it was deleted IMMEDIATELY THE NEXT DAY by the restaurant as I went too in depth about the horrendous action and words he used. I will not make the same mistake and write an entire essay on this man. But all I want is to let future customers know that the manager, or whoever the guy is at the front table greeting guests said some nasty things about a table of customers who had disabilities and mocked them in the rudest and coldest way possible. I even overheard one of his employees calling him out and saying he has no empathy as a person. Obviously he didn't care. This review is in no way about the restaurant space, food, or quality of service (not that it was that great to begin with...) but it is merely about the ethical practices of the guy greeting the customers. He smiles and has great service in front of customers, but just a rude and unethical person behind the scenes. The AYCE $30 late night menu is fantastic. We added on the $10/person for unlimited Wagyu. We usually get the grill as well $8/table and unlimited sauce $6/table. Ordering with the tablet is fairly easy and usually almost everything comes. Our table also got a $10 beer tower. If you can eat a lot and enjoy fattier thin cuts of meat you should definitely try this place. It's nice to have both the soup and grill. The pork bone soup needs a bit more salt in my opinion. Today try their hot pot with my husband and 2 boys, all of the lady and the gentleman working there are so friendly. The food come really quick and the quality is pretty surprising food. Most of the things that I like is their service, my 2 boys keep asking the 2nd cotton candy after we paid, they still give it to them and didn't show (my kids annoying and bugging them) . Their service so good and so patient. Definitely will go back again. Also yesterday try there special cha-shiu rice combo with lemon tea, the cha-shiu and rice so flavorful, same the guys service nice and also the dim sum. Highly recommend people to try. read more
