THIS SPOT AFTER A CONCERT JUST HITSSSS!!! My friend and I got here around I want to say late 11pm-ish for a post-concert meal and it was worth starving all day for. It's AYCE, you order the broth and meats with your server and the rest of the toppings, noodles, vegetables, you grab yourself! They also have a make your own dipping sauce bar. The place was very clean, the tables are huge, and the area to grab the toppings was always well kept and stocked. I feel it's important to mention that they also offer halal meat as well! read more

CHOCHO Hot Pot is a solid AYCE shabu shabu option in Burnaby Metrotown. This spot is also a great late night eats option as they are open every day until 1am. Reservations are highly recommended as they do get packed pretty quickly. Wifey and I pulled with our homies for a late dinner and had a reservation. They have a modern and spacious interior with lots of seating. We came when happy hour started at 9pm, so it was about $39.99 CAD per person. We really enjoyed the broths and the quality of all the meat! read more

Hotpot on Kingsway near Metrotown. A cheaper and all you can eat version of Dolar Shop. Mid-sized footprint, with modern looking interior that looks a little bit like the Dolar Shop. Doing good business on a Friday, but we had a reservation. Everyone gets their own stove and hot pot. You order the soup base and meat using the tablet at the table, while seafood, veggies, and noodles are out in a buffet section. There is also some dimsum like custard buns and eggs tart, along with a typical dipping sauce bar. The bone broth soup base and quality of the meat is pretty good. The seafood is not top notch, but decent enough for all you can eat. At the end of the meal, you can get some soft serve ice cream in a cone or cup. I like the ube and vanilla swirl cone. Dinner price is $53 before tax and tip per person. Not cheap, but cheaper than going to Dolar Shop or Haidilao, and you'll definitely leave full. read more

CHOCHO Hot Pot - hotpot with meat veggies seafood and dimsum - Hot Pot Near Me - Burnaby, British Columbia

I had been to this ayce hotpot a couple of times previously but this was the first time i went with a big group. Due to limited number of bigger tables, i had to book 2 individual smaller tables. Staff were super friendly and accommodating to put our tables side by side. The selections might not be as many as other ayce places but i like the quality of the selections. We chose to have their new year special with wagyu beef and a few other special items. I also liked their tomato soup base too. Something new which i didnt see it last time i went was the halal selection, which would be great for customers who have halal restrictions Something to note has to be their cute dessert choices. On their new year special, they also had the special dessert bubur cha cha, which was very delicious read more

AYCE hotpot! My first time trying ChoCho. It won't be my last! Personal size hotpot with your choice of broth. Service was on point, friendly and informative. Open and large restaurant. Free two hours parking (remember to scan the QR code inside) Everything ordered was brought to us in a timely manner. When going to the self serve area, the selection of foods were kept full. Plenty of different types of seafood, vegetables, side dishes, fruit, desserts, dimsum etc. I recommend making a reservation. What kept this from being a 5-star review was when it came time to pay, They had a sign stating that cash or debit is preferred / appreciated. Use of credit card is fine but there is a 2% fee. I thought okay, fair. The sign on the table was clear. So I decided to pay with cash. What caught me off guard was when the waiter came to take my payment, he asked me, "how much change do you want back?" I found that rude. Technically I expect all my change back, then I leave a tip accordingly. read more

Honestly one of my favorite hotpot spots in Burnaby! The ingredients are super fresh, and the presentation is so cute -- especially the meat platters and seafood options. The broth is chef's kiss -- rich, flavorful, and customizable depending on how spicy you want it. Service was friendly and quick even when it got busy. The staff checked on us often and made sure our soup was topped up. Portion sizes are solid for the price, and everything tasted really clean and high quality. The atmosphere is cozy and modern -- great for date nights or a chill dinner with friends. I love that they have both single and shared pots so you can mix up your own flavors without compromise. Highly recommend the spicy bone broth and their special dipping sauce bar -- it's loaded with fresh garlic, herbs, and sauces so you can make your own perfect combo. Overall, 10/10 for freshness, flavor, and vibe. Definitely coming back again! read more

Went with a group of friends. The good was so fresh and such a variety of foods to put in your hot pot. The servers were so friendly and I'm not used to hot pots so she gave me a bib and fixed me all up like I was a kid, prepped my food. It was so cute. There were desserts too. Ice cream and all kinds of other items. It was pricy but worth it. Wish I could have eaten more in the 2 hours you get. They are strict on that. A bit rushed but if you're prepared it's fine. read more

ChoCho offered AYCE hot pot with self server options. Your soup and meats are ordered off the pad at the table and there is self server veggies, seafood and other hot pot favorites. They also have a fried item section and desert station. At the time their regular price before 9pm is $52.99, but often have promo you can find on social media. Used the I Love Chocho offer that was $10 off before sitting at 4pm. For the quality of items it's a good place for special events and parties. Cash and debit is preferred, credit card they apply a 2% surcharge. read more

I want to start off that the service was good. The place has a modern vibe to it and there was plenty of parking outside and around the restaurant. There were limited options for the meat but what came out was all premium. They had sections for sauces , seafood, starches, produce and desserts. Overall, pretty good. I just wished they had more variety of cuts/ protein. read more

This place is AMAZING for hot pot. Holyyy moly. Visited a friend whose hometown is in Vancouver, where the Chinese food is supposedly better than even the Chinese food out in LA -- and after this (and touring the general area for a few days) I totally agree. This place is better than any hot pot/shabu place I've been to out in LA. I love that they do personal bowls, so everyone can choose their own soup base. They have so many options for veggies/sides. Meats are ordered a la carte but come out so fast. Everything is AYCE. They even have some dim sum staples out for your taking. And a very healthy selection of DIY sauces. Supposedly long waits during popular dinner times but we went around 5/5:30pm on a weekday and there was no wait at all. Service fine. Ambiance -- lively and happening. Definitely recommend this place to all hot pot/shabu lovers and the uninitiated alike. read more

CHOCHO Hot Pot - Hot Pot Near Me - Burnaby, British Columbia

Regular Price is $52.99/person. AYCE premium hotpot place! They have a large variety of snacks and appies (they also have dim sum items, candy bar), but it's probably not a huge bonus because you don't want to fill up on filler foods... About the meat: choice of 6 types of meat. Obviously it's AYCE so the quality is just okay, but definitely still very decent. I'd still prefer to go to Dolar Shop - their sister restaurant that is not AYCE. Given that I never eat enough to justify AYCE pricing, I'd rather spend $40+ and get all the best meat cuts that I personally like. Free icecream at the end of the meal. I think ChoCho and Dolar Shop have the best ice cream of all the hotpot places. Large spacious booths, good for large parties and/or kids. Super attentive and friendly staff. Why I'd Recommend: 1. Soup base - exact same as Dolar Shop. Soup base is really good, I prefer the half and half (one spicy and one regular pork broth). 2. They usually have some sort of promo going on. When I went, they offered $29.99/person after 11PM (Sun-Thurs only). Children discounts and/or eat free sometimes. 3. Open late night - Burnaby & Richmond location open until 1AM daily. Why I do NOT Recommend: 1. Minimal meat selection. Some get quite tough/hard to chew. 2. Expensive. Only go if you can eat at least $53 worth of food :) (which I can't). 3. Wait can be long - use their online reso if possible. read more

We totally enjoyed the food, the explosion of flavours with so many variety of ingredients that you can put together and freely make your own concoction is truly a joy to experience! There's something for everyone even for the fussy eater! It's a great get together for family and friends, the place is modern contemporary, tastefully designed that is functional and spacious. High quality food and service. ChoCho served not only hotpot but dim sum, desserts and a curry option as well - when we came they had a special seafood boil going on as well. This location is a premium AYCE with tons of options ranging from vegan to halal. Everything here was fresh and the "market" was constantly restocked with veggies, noodles, seafood and hot food items. At this hotpot spot, everyone gets their own little pot of broth that the servers fill up throughout the service. Tip: they have free parking here! Just park behind the restaurant and scan the QR code when you get there. read more

We came back for another late AYCE night hotpot. The service was great as usual. However, the absolute best cut - rib eye cut was no longer offered on the menu. Our favorite dim sum item, the black lava bun, no longer tasted fresh. The custard inside was no longer flowing. Also the taro balls at the dessert bar weren't cooked through...... Based on the above, unfortunately we will be looking for other late night AYCE options read more

Transit friendly - also plenty of street parking nearby. Place gets very very busy - you will want to book in advance - probably even a week or more in advance if possible - Place is very clean - well lit and well ventilated - AYCE hot pot is one of my fav things to - and this is probably one of my fav places - however the price is getting a little high - and it's a shame that they no longer offer the AYCD (all you can drink) add on. Service here is pretty outstanding - they do a pretty good job filling your broth and checking if you need anything else - or how things are going - Everything tasted pretty fresh - and they do a good job re-stocking there dim sum / misc treats sections - I love the Portuguese egg tarts here - the steamed buns are also pretty good - but obviously don't over do these - since you'll want to eat your share of premium meats :) read more

Took mum here to try out the AYCE hot pot. I tried the Richmond location with friends, we enjoyed ourselves so I wanted to take mum. They offer a senior discount for those over 60, $39.99 before 4pm but for the rest of August they are running a promotion with the same senior discount up to 11pm. Today I tried the sukiyaki broth and it was nice and savory. The dim sum was ok, I tried a few items, but I was there for the hot pot. The fatty beef, Chuck eye roll and pork shoulder was all good. You get 2 hrs to eat, we filled ourselves up easily during this time. Mum had the pork bone broth, she said it was so so, she wished it had more flavor. The nice thing with the AYCE here was a pretty good mix of items you can get besides the meat. Not a huge selection but enough, fish slices, prawns, mussels, a few meat and fish balls, and spam! For us I am not sure if we can justify the regular price of $52.99 although the food quality is decent, we just don't eat that much anymore. For us we will be coming back for the late night special or senior specials. All in all we enjoyed the food here and the Matcha ice cream at the end was a nice touch. read more

I've been here twice already and both times were great! It was easy to make a reservation with Yelp and the first time that we dined in, we called and they were able to seat us due to a canceled reservation. I like the late-night dining option since we're able to save $10 off the regular price. Parking is also free at the back of the store - 2 hrs. The staff was attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in and the whole time we were dining. Food is fresh from the Market Table and there is a wide variety of vegetables, seafood, noodles, etc. I was a bit bummed that they removed the all-you-can-drink option, but that leaves more room for me for the meats, haha. Love that they include a little dessert bar and also the ice cream at the end of the meal! Of course, they also have a sauce bar with the essentials. It usually gets pretty busy, so I recommend making a reservation. I will be back again when I'm in Burnaby and craving hot pot! read more

Great option when we want a variety of food for hot pot. Keep in mind, children over 50" will be priced the same as adults. So my two children who are 8 and 10 years old were charged as adults. Still, at $52.99 per person AYCE, it's a good price considering the variety of food available. You get 120 minutes to eat and can order meat, drinks, and add ons on the tablet. Everything else is self served. They also have a small selection of dim sum. Make reservations online, walk in can be 1-2+ hours wait. Parking is located in the back, and remember to scan the parking QR code inside the restaurant to validate 2 hours of parking. Oh, and they prefer cash or debit. The ambiance is nice and clean, and the service was attentive. We'll definitely be back. Chocho is a sister restaurant of Dolar Shop, but we prefer coming here. Chocho is great for families and groups who enjoy a variety of food options for a great price. read more

Chocho is the AYCE version of DolarShop. Pro tip: There is free parking at the back of the building and you get 2 hours by scanning and registering at the hostess stand. I like water and chips provided for those sitting in the waiting area but it pales in comparison to the DolarShop location in Lansdown where they have popcorn, chips, peanuts, candy, and etc. Prices have recently gone up to $52.99/person before 9pm from $49.99. Feel like still worth it compared to a la carte as you get soup base included and all the DolarShop favourites. Just wish they had a bigger sauce bar options and more fruits as it's small compared to both Station Square and Landsdown DolarShop locations. As well, it'd be AMAZING if the Wagyu or Banana pancake were also included. Food is fresh and you order the sliced meat on demand on the tablet. The dim sum was also pretty good but didn't try the deep fried foods or dessert as they didn't give us a warning (a 10 minute one would have been nice) for last call to get dessert. At least they gave us their signature ice cream though. Service was solid bit again, wish they gave us a last call or heads up so we could have gotten dessert. read more

Located at the busy area in Metrotown, across Crystal Mall. Street parking in front or Free 2 hours parking behind the building, for all the business customer. It's the AYCE version of dolar pot Hot Pot with enough selection of AYCE Meat and other selection at the buffet counter. Included some cooked meat like dim sum, snacks, sweet treat. Taste was ok. They serve mussel, peeled small shrimp and regular shrimp. You can tell which items are favorites or not. Service was excellent for AYCE. Did not fell being rush at any time. Server keep checking on you. Refill the soup as needed. They made you comfortable up to 2 hours limit. Server has tag of what languages they can speak. Nice touch! Nice modern ambiance with personal hot pot bowl with electric stove at each seat. Even with many tables, there are waiting lines during meal hours. I visited during dinner. Came early sit right away. We tried the premium AYCE at ChoCho, but the meat quality was just average. The service was good, but it didn't stand out as exceptional or go above and beyond. The restaurant was extremely busy, which may have affected the overall experience. I've visited other Dolar Shop locations and found this one to be the least enjoyable so far. The food quality was comparable to the other locations, but the atmosphere felt more crowded... If you're not specifically looking for the AYCE experience, I would recommend visiting one of the other Dolar Shop locations instead. You'll get similar food quality, (probably) better service, a more comfortable dining experience (hopefully), and likely spend less money (or not). read more

My favorite all you can eat hotpot in Vancouver/Burnaby. The quality of the beef is always top notch. The selection of veggies, carbs and seafood is fresh. Look. I'd come up to Canada just to eat here again. Actually, I did after going my first time last month. Highly recommend making reservations. Both times, we were seated almost immediately as we made reservations. Parking is free - just make sure to scan the code inside and put in your license plate - you get two hours. Service here is phenomenal. Like, you go and get your own stuff for the most part, but they're so quick to bring you the meats (you order on the tablet) and quick to bring any refills and clean empty dishes. Both times we've been here, I've been shocked with how great service is. Everything is good quality here. The meats, the veggies, etc. The last time I came, I did half pork broth and half spicy. If you want that spicy broth, I highly recommend just doing the one whole spicy broth. It was much better for me the second time. The dim sum choices are but a few, but they're delicious. The shrimp hai gao and shumai are the only ones I tasted and they were good. Options here are extensive. Lots of choices for your hot pot. I love the sauce bar and little dessert area as well. Bathrooms are clean and everything about this place is just A++++. I think the price went up to like $52 CAD but that's still very cheap for what you get. If you're in this area, definitely check them out. read more

This is probably one of my favourite ayce hotpot places because the quantity and quality of food. They're a chain from the dollar store so you know as well that the food is good quality. Service is usually alright but the food itself is good, it's a nice looking place and overall, it's always a good time coming here. Honestly I've heard so many things about dollar shop and chocho hot pot which is like a sister shop to dollar shop except chocho is AYCE. I swear I use to believe Southern California had the best hot pot in terms of ayce but god dam chocho could possibly be the best traditional Cantonese style hot pot I've had. Now of course we have Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House but that's on the more super high end price. The bone broth here really reminded me of homemade spare rib soup with a hint of goji berries, ginseng, typical Chinese spices etc. It had such a clean irony free taste to it and there was even bits of spare ribs in the soup. In the states the broths are normally loaded with MSG, salt, or some type of chicken bouillon. The service here was quick AF.. typically I'm use to ordering through a server but everything here is on the Apple iPad. You can literally order as much as you want whenever you want which made it super convenient. Of course you get charged for left overs but that's why you pace yourselves! In the states it's typically 4-6 orders at a time with a 2 hour limit and you have to constantly flag down servers to put your meat orders in. I was really shocked seeing a whole ass sliced ribeye since I'm use to the states portions being so small since it's AYCE. I swear my belly was going to explode and I didn't even eat all day because your boy trying to make it worth it nah sayin? The vegetable and buffet bar was pretty sweet, it's your typical Chinese hot pot veggies bok choy, crown daisy, spinach, etc.. The dessert bar was pretty awesome.. they had osmanthus sugar syrup, pocky, taro rice balls, tapioca coconut milk, variety of fruits, grass jelly variety, soft serve ice cream(you have to ask for it). I was not familiar with osmanthus sugar at all since that's kind of a new thing in California.. it was bomb AF. Overall I would definitely come again if I ever visit Canada again! read more

All-you-can-eat hotpot with good friends on a weekend. The whole experience from making a reservation on Yelp to being seated on time, service, food variety, quality and flavour was excellent. I would give them 4.5 star. Make sure you bring your stomach! I would love to go again for sure. The quality of the food is worth it at $49/adult from 11am to 9pm. If you don't mind a late supper, it's $40 from 9pm to 1am. It's 2 hours max per group. They have many choices of soup base. The pork bone one was rich and flavourful. I had the spicy and pork bone combo. Really liked how the pork bone soup base actually had a couple of decent size of pork ribs. The servers were very good at adding soup by request. Loved the good varieties of premium beef, pork, seafood, and vegetables, etc. The sauce station had so many options. They even had cooked food such as noodles and pastry. The dessert bar was mighty and delicious. The soft ice cream cone was the best ending of the meal. The ambiance was welcoming. The table at the booth was a bit high. Perhaps the bench chair was a bit too low? They have rear parking. You can register with their QR code in store. It's also easy to find parking nearby. read more

Finally had a chance to try this place. This place is crazy popular. As of the time of writing, I was told there is still a 2 week(!) waitlist. Parking is available in the lot beneath the building. Scan the QR code and enter your plate information for 2h of free parking. Unfortunately this assumes that one will get a table immediately upon entering the restaurant. Personally I would recommend delaying the scan until one gets a table. The place is modern. Nice bright lighting, and shiny ventilation equipment. Staff are friend and professional. Meat slices are ordered via menu and brought over by staff. For the other stuff (seafood, rice, dessert, fruit, sauce etc.) there is a crowded food station area. Grab a few plates and load up. The hot pot can be either 1 or 2 soups. Pots are individual, and are cooked via induction. My friends and I were too busy destroying ourselves to talk. The food here is fresh and delicious. Beautiful. Just be sure to watch that clock. The 2 hour limit comes quickly. Be sure to leave room for dessert at the end. They have a soft machine. Ice cream can be served in either cones or cups. There is also a station with candies as well as fruit slices. In terms of quality between the direct competition in the area, I would slot this place slightly below Marble House (Crystal Mall) but above Happy Lamb. In terms of pricing, this place is the priciest of the 3. I would come back, but only on special occasions because of the price. read more

We came here after hearing good things about Dolar Shop. Upon arriving, there's a QR code to scan to help validate parking. We liked that we could order stuff on the tablet which made the process faster. The options of what to eat was pretty good. The sauce bar got kind of messy though and some of the spouts weren't the best choice for the sauce - one of the servers tried helping me with one of the sauces and it ended spraying all over my sweater - they gave me a Tide pen but I'm not sure it full worked. We saw that some other people were given aprons to wear but we weren't offered it ‍ The price is definitely a bit steep. The soup bases were good, though I wonder if we were allowed to switch throughout our meal. We liked that you could order split flavor lots though, since variety is always a nice to have. read more
