Really good service for like an all you can eat Asian restaurant the meat was delicious birthday promotion is amazing as well usually it's like 50% off but with them it's one person free

We went for a late lunch at 2pm and it was a packed restaurant. Cost was $28.85 per adult and $14.99 per child (up to 11 years old) for the Classic, which is the lowest tier because I figure we can't eat that much at that time. We ended up tapping out after round two. The must gets are the beef belly slices. There were 3 types of marinade but I liked the simple sea salt ones the best and you can dip into your sauces. The beef tongue was on the chewier side but not too bad. Pork belly was fatty and delicious and the pork shoulder was tender. Veggies are very much needed since you get the meat ick after a while to change things up. Service was great and no complaints there.

This place never fails to put a smile on my face. Awesome charcoal bbq goodness. Excellent side dishes like crispy fish, onion rings, etc and free ice cream at the end too. Meats are fresh and good quality. And price can't be beat! Service fast and efficient. Place is clean and well organized. They take credit and debit! One of the best bang for the buck places. Reservations are highly recommended. Cheers! Happy eating!

Came here for their AYCE for dinner. There were 3 tiers to choose from and we chose the middle tier. It gave plenty of meat choices and seafood choices. Definitely recommend booking a reservation ahead. I used google to book a reservation and it led to a yelp waitlist. Use the time you picked on google & don't use the wait list because they don't actually follow it. We ordered most of our food at the beginning & were very full. Parking can be hard and tight to find.

Charcoal grilling definitely adds that extra flavour, and everything was fresh. But overall it was just an a-ok experience. Not the best BBQ I've had, though still a fun night out.

So happy i finally got to try this place after waiting for so long and constantly seeing it pop up in peoples stories or reviews etc. It was absolutely the best meal ive had in so long. My friend and i went for the second tier pricing 39.85 and trust me it was plenty of options. So much actually didn't even get try everything We also opted to do all you can drink for $5, which actually lets you choose unlimited amounts from the drink choices in that fridge. I was mindblown! Something about charcoal bbq just really hits the spot. The cold noodles was a nice way to end off the meal. Some of my fave cuts of meat was cumin lamb, beef finger meat with pineapple, honey chicken wing, pork neck meat and pretty much all the beef options in my tier and below. If you're lucky enough to get to try the takoyaki balls please do! It was sooooo good but i only had 1 since the tray only had 4 left when i went up to the appetizer bar. The service is hands down 5/5. English is really good. The cashier receptionist was so sweet with answering all my questions and having us seated. The servers are really well mannered too, they all smile and actually respond and not just walk away like some other restaurants i've been to. Parking does get a little hectic but it is worth it. Do be aware they take credit card (with a 2% fee added/ or debit with no fee added and they take cash. So be prepared The ambiance was just perfect too, everyone's there to enjoy a good meal, there's no drunk party animals ... everyone was pretty respectful of other diners. The restaurant was well run i'd say. I'm definitely coming back.

I like the marinate of the meat. There are 3 categories/prices of buffet. We picked the $28 one, the most basic one. Charcoal Grill really made the meat tasted better. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Will come again. This is located right across Hilton Vancouver Airport. Few mins walk from Hilton, Sheraton or Marriott. Ambiance was bright, nice, clean. The buffet bar of appetizers was included.

Solid Chinese (Korean style?) BBQ place in Richmond, just N of Richmond Centre. Parking is available both next to the building as well as the roof. Spots are limited. Best to carpool. The inside is pretty modern. Nice bright interior. Staff are friendly and helpful. The place is busy, so one may have to flag them down. As of the time of writing, there are 3 tiers of AYCE (classic, deluxe, surpreme). My friends and I all agree that Deluxe is the way to go. For a few bucks more than the basic, there is AYCE abalone(!). I have no idea how many abalone we killed off that night. A dream come true. Double fisting abalone is now off my bucket list. The grill setup looks pretty neat, and the equipment is definitely of good quality. The grill strands are quite thin, and are actually spring loaded. The grills are not gas, but actually charcoal (the "Tan" in Jing Tan; Jing Tan = Beijing charcoal), which some say gives the cooked meat that extra smoky flavour. My only complaint is that the tradeoff is that the food takes longer than average to cook, despite the meat slices being nice and thin. My friends and I had to basically work out a routine (ie grill duty) to make sure the full area was being utilized. There is an adjustable exhaust hose directly over the grills, so the place wasn't smoky at all, which was nice. The 2 hour limit can be a problem if one doesn't cook quickly enough. We did notice that some of the larger (group) tables had grills that seemed to cook faster than the other tables. Something to keep in mind when selecting a table. Another tip - anything that comes served in a small aluminum dish (such as cod) can be placed directly on the grill, so that the food doesn't fall into tiny pieces. The prepared (ie cold) food station in front has some salads and items such as edamame and crab. I was excited to try the deep fried crab, but found out it's not exactly fresh (think leftovers at the end of a shift). Maybe worth having a piece, but honestly I'd just skip it. There are also shrimp chips, orange slices, caramel popcorn, and Coke bottles. Something to munch on at the end. They also offer dessert bars. The night I went, only red bean was available. Good enough. Overall my friends and I had a good time. Because of the slow cooking speed, I would recommend no more than 2-3 people per (4 person) table to keep things moving. My thoughts are still with all those abalone. Recommended.

I visited Jing tan Grill house where is famous for all you can eat korean style BBQ. The price range was CAD 28.85, 39.85 and 68.85. CAD28.85 was very good already, but, we wanted to choose more variety of meat and seafood selections, so, decided to go for CAD39.85. Besides bbq menu, there were salad, snack and appetizer section. I found seaweed salad, potato salad, kimchi, deep fried bread with condense milk, popcorn, candy, sasame ball, and rice crackers, And standout item was Crab!! I could not believe they offer crab for appetizer section. Yes, it was long line-up.. All you can eat menu - we ordered beef belly(4 kinds), beef tongue, pork shoulder, pork belly, mushroom, pickled cabbage, marinated beef, beef rib fingers with pineapple, beef shortrib, pork neck, abalone, chicken knee, beef blade slice, pork intestine, rice, fried rice...so many dishes.. My favorite was beef finger with pineapple and beef tongue, and pork neck. Otherwise, each beef or pork slices were so thin, so, on the bbq pan, it burned quickly, but, we should not complain for this price. I am ok with it. At the end of meals, popsicle was served on the house. I also had deep fried bread, sesame ball, candy, popcorn for dessert. It was a very satisfied meal. And it is good for friends and family gathering.

I must of been living under a rock - because how did I not discover this place sooner ! - Small parking lot available - with paid metered street parking nearby - This place cant get very busy - so you will probably want to reserve a table in advance - they are quite spacious and can host various party sizes. Tables are nicely spread out - unless your using your outdoor voice, people shouldn't be overhearing your conversations 3 Tiers of AYCE - i think the 2nd tier at $40 is more then enough - but maybe will try the 3rd tier someday. I found a lot of the meats did taste similar - probably used the same spice mix on several different meats which is a shame - however it was still good! They also offer a appetizer table with various different snacks - Fries, spring rolls, deep fried crab legs, seaweed salad , prawn chips and a bunch of other things! For the BBQ - some of my favs were - Short Ribs , boneless chicken thighs , squid tentacles and the special marinated pork - they also had abalone - however I didn't really get much of a taste high from it. Corn cheese was also something I enjoyed! They also have the IV beer - you probably want to have at least a second person to share it with -

Finally got to try Jing Tan Grill.. I remember when they first opened, it was near impossible to book a table even a couple months in advance.. we easily booked a table for 12 a month in advance for my parents' birthday party.. we were given a private room which was ready on time. It had 2 charcoal grills - one had a smoke vent and the other did not.. the one with a smoke vent had an open flame grill and the one without a vent had a stone grill. I would recommend to sit at the grill with the vent, if you have a choice. We chose the $40 mid tier menu. We found it to be well worth the price tag as it included a variety of seafood (clams, shrimp, mussels, fish, abalone). The clams, fish and mussels were better than expected. As expected, the seafood was served much later than the meat. We found that two grills was not enough for 12 people. If you have more people in your party, I would recommend to avoid ordering chicken and pork as they took too long to cook. The only item in the ayce meu that was fully pre-cooked was the chicken skin - it didn't seem like it was fried fresh - maybe from 1-2 days ago. The prepared food station had a few salads (seaweed, fish skin, potato), a few deep fried items (buns/condensed milk, Dungeness crab, French fries, veggie spring rolls) and a few desserts (mango roll cake, gummy worms and gummy coke bottles). A large serving tray of Dungeness crab was only provided x2 during our 2 hour visit. I would recommend for an alert person to be sit in direct view of the prepared food station, if you want to enjoy any - it was gone very quickly - it wasn't very good though. The other items at the station were all pretty cold or maybe lukewarm. The condiments provided included the house soy dipping sauce (tasty) and 2 dry seasonings. The dry seasoning included nuts fyi. They were able to provide an alternate sauce for anyone allergic to nuts. We ordered 1 order of cold noodles and we were so surprised at how large a single portion was - we ended up asking for some small bowls and sharing it amongst 4 people. It was Korean style but neither authentic nor cold. We brought a birthday cake and they provided plates, forks and a knife. My parents were asked to provide ID to prove it was their birthday m, in order to take advantage of the free meal on your birthday offer. The birthdays on their ID cards are their lunar calendar birthdays, so that was a no go - but good to know they have a free bday meal offer. Would definitely recommend Jing Tan. Would definitely recommend the mid tier - we tried most of the meats from the low tier and most were way too fatty. Ice cream cones were served at the end of our meal. Surprisingly, they didn't have a mandatory tip for large group. Service was very good - friendly and attentive. Limited free parking on road level, free parking on the roof top - but this was full by the time we were leaving at 7pm on a Sunday.

    Lee M.

Was in the area and decided to walk in - was fairly busy but they were able to accommodate for 2 in 10 minutes. The hosts were attentive during the meal as they change your grill top every now and then. The menu had good options for meats and other dishes. Some seafood options were there as well. There are some sides you can get, like boiled peanuts, edimame, and other things to accompany the BBq. The grill top isn't the mesh so the infusion of smoke really doesn't happen. So it kinda just makes it a standard bbq top with coal as your source of heat. But it was a good meal and the place has standard ambiance.

Hey @jfoodreviews here. So I had arrived in hopes to try the premium all you can eat menu that has foie gras & waygu. However when I had arrived they refused service "Hey we cannot serve for one person." I was taken aback as I had commuted all the way from Surrey (which is more than 1 hour driving .) If you want this hard rule , please add it to the damn website . Very upsetting. If the staff had told me to they were fully booked for the evening that would have been a better practice, but they legit told me "hey just a heads up our owner actually doesn't serve single individuals" I hope nothing but failure and regret for this establishment.

She wanted to go to Kirin. Plenty of parking in the mall. Hostess greeted and seated us promptly. Restaurant was busy but not crazy. This was at 10am on a Thursday. Waiters were attentive. Usual table service was in place. Took our order and food came out at acceptable pace. When we were done, they politely boxed up the leftovers and we paid our bill. So service was on point. The food we ordered came out hot. The staples that I order to test was hargow, suimai and pai gwut(spareribs). All 3 dishes in general were good.....the hargow could have used an extra minute or 2 in the steamer. The suimai was very good. I tasted every ingredient in this dish. Usually it is just a complete mix and you can't discern the different flavors. They tried something different with the cheongfun by adding pieces of Chinese donut to the roll. I personally think it didn't add much to the dish, taste or texture wise. I did like the pea shoots with shrimp. I think it is a good combo. All in all a good dimsum. I also noticed they did not charge us a tea service. The cost of the food is comparable with other restaurants at this level. Yes come on a date or impress business clients/boss or family celebrations.

On a typical Sunday evening, the restaurant is usually fully occupied, but my friend had thoughtfully made a reservation a week in advance, so our table for five was ready upon arrival. As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, with good airflow thanks to the wide-open front entrance facing the parkade. The front desk receptionist greeted us cordially, and we were escorted to a cozy table in a comfortable location -- not too close to the washrooms, which I appreciated. Our meal began with the Kirin Special Assorted Cold Appetizer, followed by Crab Meat, Dried Scallops, and Fish Maw Soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was delicious, with a generous portion that could easily have served eight people. We also enjoyed Pea Tips Braised with Bean Curd and Assorted Mushrooms in Consommé, Marinated Free-Range Crispy Skin Chicken, Fillet of Cod Sautéed with Seasonal Vegetables, and Live Crab in Consommé with Ginger and Green Onion, served with E-fu Noodles. Overall, the quality and taste of every entrée were excellent. Service was top-notch -- tea and hot water were refilled constantly, bones and used plates were replaced promptly, and the servers were friendly and engaging throughout the evening. My friend and his family have apparently been regulars at this location for over two decades, which likely contributed to the exceptional attentiveness we received. However, one aspect of the experience genuinely disturbed me. All servers, including the captains, continued to wear masks at all times. While this practice was understandable two years ago, now -- five years after the onset of the pandemic, with COVID-19 managed similarly to other seasonal respiratory illnesses -- the continued universal masking in a fine-dining environment feels unnecessary and detracts from the overall guest experience. Fine dining, in my view as an avid foodie, is built on human connection, hospitality, and personal interaction. Masks create a more impersonal, almost clinical atmosphere. In a well-ventilated space like this, the environmental risk does not seem to justify the visual and social trade-off. Rather than providing reassurance, the persistent masking may unintentionally signal that the environment is unsafe or that management is out of step with current provincial health guidelines, where masking is now a personal choice rather than a mandate. Final verdict: Food & Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 -- as the current aesthetic feels more like a relic of 2020 than a leader in 2026 hospitality.

We made a reservation on OpenTable (which is a rare platform to use among Chinese restaurants in Greater Vancouver). We were seated a few minutes after arrival. The space feels energetic. It's a more modern restaurant, so there is much color and younger vibrancy than a traditional Chinese restaurant. What else is different? No round tables - only smaller square tables - which means it's better designed for small groups rather than large groups. We ended up trying a number of items: - Beef Belly Skewers: Very good. Everyone loved them. I wished we had ordered more. - Chicken Skewers: Ok. I think asked for something but they ran out and gave us gizzards and hearts, which are never good because they become mealy and not enjoyable to eat. - Dungeness Crab with Salty Egg Yolk: Good. Prepared as well as lots of restaurants. They provide disposable gloves to eat with, but nothing to crack the shells. - Stir Fried Vegetables: Good. No complaints. - Fresh Fish with Tofu Hot Pot: Very good. - Fresh Fish Steamed: Very good. - Lobster with Sticky Rice: Very good. Service is really very good. Genuinely more friendly and talkative than I'm accustomed too, but I appreciated. Overall, a good meal. It was different in that the decor and service is what really stood out, and that's the difference maker compared to most other Chinese restaurants with the same quality of food. We tried the braised combo (pork ear, pork intestines, fish cake), Taiwanese egg wrap, braised pork sauce rice with deep fried pork chop, and yam taro mochi balls. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. The rice rolls were of the perfect texture. Generous servings too. The popcorn chicken was salty and savoury with friend basil As well. Very nice touch. I would repeat. Cheers! Happy eating!

For this price, you don't expect the best quality, but I think their food exceeds the price point…read more The rice rolls were soft, but I wish they added more sweet soy sauce as it got dry at the end. Finally! A place that doesn't charge you $5 for a fried dough stick. It was ok - a little on the dense side The wontons were not good. The wontons and soup had no flavor. The cold noodle fen pi was really good. Perfect amount of vinegar and savory. I wish there were more vegetables, so I'm not eating noodles 90% of the time. I would come back for the rice noodle and cold noodle and maybe try their congee next time.
