Really great quality meat! Such good place for AYCE bbq. The service is really attentive and friendly too :)

After seeing the surprisingly affordable prices listed for their lunch specials we decided to try Jjang. We were not disappointed! The Tteokbokki and the Black Pepper Duck specials were spectacular! Very smoky duck and a perfectly fried egg will never not be a must buy for me. Food came out very fast making this a potential option for me on my lunch break.

Have Jjang another try, this time to have some of their cold noodles! The noodles were super chewy, broth perfectly umami, and loved every bit of pickled daikon on it too!

Food was AMAZING!!! So worth your money so definitely eat as much as you can! Ordering is very easy - service was a bit slow / not attentive but we had a great meal regardless and the price was unbeatable. Would definitely go back again!!!

Stopped in with friends that have never had Korean bbq to let them have the experience. The restaurant was super clean, staff was friendly and helpful. We did the combo for 4 people. There was plenty of food, we were able to take some to go. The main thing for us is there just want enough seasoning. The sauces they provided were delicious, but the meat needed to be salted first. The chicken was amazing. It was marinated and had green onion garnish. Kimchi was nice and spicy. Once we asked for some salt, it definitely made the meal much better. Just not the best korean bbq, and I can't say I would return.

We dined at JJANG Korean BBQ the other night and were blown away by their top-notch food and fresh ingredients. We ordered the Combo Set for Two, which included AAA thinly sliced beef, succulent pork belly, soy chicken thigh, juicy garlic scallops, and spicy seafood tofu soup. The set also came with a refreshing cocktail and a soft drink. The meat melted in our mouths, and we especially loved the spicy seafood tofu soup--packed with seafood and perfectly spiced (mild to medium). The marinated dishes were excellently prepared. The side dishes (sweet potatoes, kimchi, bean sprouts) and salad were fantastic. Portions were generous; the combo could easily feed more than two people. Overall, we left full and satisfied. We highly recommend JJANG for a unique Korean BBQ experience! If you're in Richmond and craving Korean BBQ cuisine, JJANG Korean BBQ is the place to be. Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! They provide the Lego-themed cutlery, cups, and bowls for kids. Presentation: 3/5 Parking: 3/5 They have 90 minutes of free underground parking--very convenient! Tips: * have numerous drink options, especially the creative cocktails! * offer special discount menus on weekdays and have combo sets tailored for different group sizes. Would I Return: Yes ‍

Honestly love coming to this restaurant for their lunch sets. The meat quality is so good and I particularly love their meat marinates. * $58 jjang meat combo ~ comes with quite the variety and I think the pork belly and chuck flaps were my favourite ones from this combination it also came with thinly sliced beef belly and beef rib fingers. 8/10. * Spicy cold noodle sat ($16.85) ~ Bomb and so refreshing perfect for the warmer weathers. I love cold noodles and the sauce was spot on here super yummy and flavourful. 9/10 * Gamjatang set ($17.85) this was delicious also the soup was so good and flavourful. The perfect amount of kick. 8/10 * Overall the dishes were all good and I really enjoyed my time here. Perfect for sharing

This place is so cool! Lots of exhaust so you don't come out smelling like kkbbq. You order on the ipad at the table which we learned the hard way lol. The meat is juicy and tender and the seafood pancake so good! Reservations online. It wasn't too busy when we went at 5pm but by 6 it was so busy with line up so the waitress offered us discount on bill if we can leave earlier lol. Ok then. We did as we were finishing up anyways. Nice bday treat for me thx friends!

Korean BBQ is one of my favourite meals and it's always a mission finding good ones back in Auckland. But here in Vancouver, there are so many more options to choose from and I think I landed one that's made it to my favourites list. This is @jang_bbq and Social house, providing some of the best KBBQ combos for couples or larger groups. I absolutely love the interior and clean industrial vibes, it really adds to the experience. We opted for their new summer menu for guests of two. Choosing 4 meats/seafood dishes & one soup. It comes with 2 bowls of rice and Korean side dishes. We opted for their premium meat options for additional $10 per dish - this was the Rib eye steak. They also have some really fun cocktails and mock-tails available. Grab the soju cocktail and have it delivered with the bottle and a giant glass! So cool and aesthetic, and goes down smooth! If you're thinking about coming here for lunch, they also have some awesome lunch deals you should check out! If this spot wasn't so far, I would regularly be back! Staff were nice and attentive, they change the grill every so often.

Premium KBBQ experience serving high quality, well-seasoned meats. You won't get the best lbs of meat/$ here but this is not what this place is about. Order some carbs (e.g. rice) to enjoy your meal with and you'll leave more than satisfied! Servers are nice and the high ceilings and well-spaced out tables ensure that things don't get too loud or stuffy even during peak hours. 5 stars coming from someone who lived by LA Koreatown for years and recently went on a trip to Korea. This isn't the best KBBQ I've ever had, but it is the best I've had in Vancouver and would still hold up to 4 stars if I reviewed this while living in LA. I'll be back here time and time again.

JJang is a tasty Korean BBQ spot in Richmond BC. With a lively and spacious environment, It's a great spot to enjoy deluxe meats and yummy cocktails with your friends and family. We especially enjoyed the duck breast, and it was a BBQ option we haven't seen at many other spots yet. Cheese corn is always a fav, and the soju drink so fun and refreshing. Servers are also very nice and attentive to stock up your appetizers.

JJANG Korean BBQ & Social House is the next KBBQ spot you don't want to miss out on! They have a HUGE selection of premium meats and delicious drinks to choose from and the service was phenomenal! The Meat: House Special Garlic Rib Snowflake Short Ribs Black Pepper Beef Cubes House Special Beef Belly Thick Cut Pork Belly Sweet & Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Spicy Seafood Tofu Soup Seafood Pancake The Cocktails: Watermelon Yogurt Pina Colada Mango Plum Corona Sunrise I loved the House Special Garlic Ribs as well as the KFC which was super crispy, juicy, and addicting! The Spicy Seafood Tofu Soup was the perfect addition to the meal if you like a little spicy action I also appreciate how the sides are unlimited so don't feel shy grabbing an extra round of kimchi or sweet braised potatoes! When you finish your meal don't forget to use the steamer by the door to get that bbq scent out of your clothes! I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back to try their other menu items!!

We went here on a weekend around lunch time and it was not busy at all so we got seated immediately. Their lunch menu is pretty good. Most of the menu items were affordable and the portions are pretty big. They also have free underground parking for 90 minutes.

And while there are no shortage of seafood restaurants serving fresh crab on the Steveston waterfront, we wanted to give The Crab King a fair shake. I'm so glad that we did! My wife ordered a King Crab for herself which, after tearing it literally limb-from-limb, eventually declared it to be tied for her favorite boiled crab dish anywhere! High praise coming from such a consummate crustacean connoisseur! For myself and our son, an order of fish and chips, and the grilled chicken sandwich rounded out our order, both of which were crispy, tasty and delicious. Regarding the fish and chips, they appeared to be tempura-battered, and I'm still not 100% sure what type of fish it was. It may have been cod, but it seemed more like catfish, but either way, it was tender, juicy, flaky and delicious. No complaints here! More than anything, though, the employees here went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. Our toddler son, who is normally extremely well-behaved in restaurants, was having a bit of a fuss here and there. Without prompting, the servers brought us a little radio to play music for him, as well as a couple of toys to play with, one of them being a wind-up truck that they gave to him to take home! He loved it there, and still plays with it at home! They even played peek-a-boo with him from behind the counter, soliciting laughs and giggles, for the better part of 15 minutes! That sort of customer service is nearly impossible to find, and should be praised and cherished wherever it is found! Whatever the past may have held for this restaurant, the Crab King is an entirely new animal now, serving up fresh seafood by uncommonly wonderful employees, in a fantastic floating location. They even offer to cook spot prawns and other seafood purchased from the boats docked at the nearby waterfront marketplace, for a modest fee. With all these things going for it, there's no doubt who wears the crown of Crab King in Steveston Harbor!

We made a reservation on OpenTable (which is a rare platform to use among Chinese restaurants in Greater Vancouver). We were seated a few minutes after arrival. The space feels energetic. It's a more modern restaurant, so there is much color and younger vibrancy than a traditional Chinese restaurant. What else is different? No round tables - only smaller square tables - which means it's better designed for small groups rather than large groups. We ended up trying a number of items: - Beef Belly Skewers: Very good. Everyone loved them. I wished we had ordered more. - Chicken Skewers: Ok. I think asked for something but they ran out and gave us gizzards and hearts, which are never good because they become mealy and not enjoyable to eat. - Dungeness Crab with Salty Egg Yolk: Good. Prepared as well as lots of restaurants. They provide disposable gloves to eat with, but nothing to crack the shells. - Stir Fried Vegetables: Good. No complaints. - Fresh Fish with Tofu Hot Pot: Very good. - Fresh Fish Steamed: Very good. - Lobster with Sticky Rice: Very good. Service is really very good. Genuinely more friendly and talkative than I'm accustomed too, but I appreciated. Overall, a good meal. It was different in that the decor and service is what really stood out, and that's the difference maker compared to most other Chinese restaurants with the same quality of food. That being said, you pay for it too. I definitely enjoyed it, but it better suited for a small groups rather than large ones.

We waited for a few minutes for someone to notice we were there, and were immediately seated. It's a nice looking place - very classic whites, and feels like a fine dining restaurant. We decided to try the following: - Beef Carpaccio: Good. Maybe a bit light on the meat, as it was buried by the arugula and pickled shallots, so seemed unbalanced, but overall tasted great - Seafood Linguini: Mixed. Linguini was good. Scallops were really good and tender. Mussels were tiny. Red snapper was tough and dry. As a dish, it was OK, but could be better. Seafood is seasonal, so I'd think they would be better off rotating what seafood is used. - LuLu Island: OK. Same issue as the linguine. Prawns were fine. Mussels tiny. Red snapper wasn't enjoyable. Broth had flavour, but didn't come out very hot. Service was pleasant but slow. I only saw one server and one busser, so not enough staff to handle 6 or 7 tables they had. Starter came n reasonable time, but main dishes seemed to take over 20min. Took awhile to get our plates cleared, and probably 15+ minutes to get the bill. Overall, it was OK. Food was OK, but not special. Service was nice enough, but couldn't keep up with timing. Glad I got to try it, but not special enough to go back.

She wanted to go to Kirin. Plenty of parking in the mall. Hostess greeted and seated us promptly. Restaurant was busy but not crazy. This was at 10am on a Thursday. Waiters were attentive. Usual table service was in place. Took our order and food came out at acceptable pace. When we were done, they politely boxed up the leftovers and we paid our bill. So service was on point. The food we ordered came out hot. The staples that I order to test was hargow, suimai and pai gwut(spareribs). All 3 dishes in general were good.....the hargow could have used an extra minute or 2 in the steamer. The suimai was very good. I tasted every ingredient in this dish. Usually it is just a complete mix and you can't discern the different flavors. They tried something different with the cheongfun by adding pieces of Chinese donut to the roll. I personally think it didn't add much to the dish, taste or texture wise. I did like the pea shoots with shrimp. I think it is a good combo. All in all a good dimsum. I also noticed they did not charge us a tea service. The cost of the food is comparable with other restaurants at this level. On a typical Sunday evening, the restaurant is usually fully occupied, but my friend had thoughtfully made a reservation a week in advance, so our table for five was ready upon arrival. As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, with good airflow thanks to the wide-open front entrance facing the parkade. The front desk receptionist greeted us cordially, and we were escorted to a cozy table in a comfortable location -- not too close to the washrooms, which I appreciated. Our meal began with the Kirin Special Assorted Cold Appetizer, followed by Crab Meat, Dried Scallops, and Fish Maw Soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was delicious, with a generous portion that could easily have served eight people. We also enjoyed Pea Tips Braised with Bean Curd and Assorted Mushrooms in Consommé, Marinated Free-Range Crispy Skin Chicken, Fillet of Cod Sautéed with Seasonal Vegetables, and Live Crab in Consommé with Ginger and Green Onion, served with E-fu Noodles. Overall, the quality and taste of every entrée were excellent. Service was top-notch -- tea and hot water were refilled constantly, bones and used plates were replaced promptly, and the servers were friendly and engaging throughout the evening. My friend and his family have apparently been regulars at this location for over two decades, which likely contributed to the exceptional attentiveness we received. However, one aspect of the experience genuinely disturbed me. All servers, including the captains, continued to wear masks at all times. While this practice was understandable two years ago, now -- five years after the onset of the pandemic, with COVID-19 managed similarly to other seasonal respiratory illnesses -- the continued universal masking in a fine-dining environment feels unnecessary and detracts from the overall guest experience. Fine dining, in my view as an avid foodie, is built on human connection, hospitality, and personal interaction. Masks create a more impersonal, almost clinical atmosphere. In a well-ventilated space like this, the environmental risk does not seem to justify the visual and social trade-off. Rather than providing reassurance, the persistent masking may unintentionally signal that the environment is unsafe or that management is out of step with current provincial health guidelines, where masking is now a personal choice rather than a mandate. Final verdict: Food & Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 -- as the current aesthetic feels more like a relic of 2020 than a leader in 2026 hospitality.

Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. Celebrating a birthday, we had cold jellyfish starter, lobster fried e-fu mein, braised pomelo skin with seafood, and beef fried kai lan. The lobster was perfectly cooked. Even slight over-cooking can make the lobster meat tough. However, every piece was perfectly cooked. Including the large claws. Cooked with ginger and scallions, the lobster gravy coated each strand of e-fu noodles to umami yumminess. The braised pomelo skin was a special seasonal dish. I have not had this dish in many decades, and when I saw this in the special seasonal menu, I had to get it. The bittersweet braised pomelo skin complemented perfectly the fresh seafood, and topped a bed of Chinese spinach. It was the first time for the other members of my family and they literally sucked it all down. The beef with kai lan was another standout. Beef slices were tender and delicious and that perfectly complemented the well seared gai lan - great evidence of wok hei. Service is exemplary. Not just for a Chinese restaurant, but for any restaurant. The servers are constantly on the alert, and Everytime they see a plate filled with lobster shells, they would whip it away and replace it with a clean plate.
