We had a big group of 11 people and I didn't know they take reservations. We did have to do 2 tables since they don't have a table that big. I haven't been to Sura in years but everything was very tasty! We had the Pork Galbi which came in a pretty big portion with a sweet marinade. Definitely enough for 2-3 people. Also had the rice cakes, seafood pancake and bossam (small size) and some new beef patty things that you grill briefly. The portion for the seafood pancake and rice cakes were much bigger than we expected so we had plenty of food. Also plenty of side dishes!

I really liked the layout of this place. It was clean and actually Korean. I had the beef kalbi and it was good. Quality of meat was nice but I felt like the marinade was a little bit on the strong stronger size side for the thickness of the meat. I really enjoyed the rib fingers because I felt like I could actually taste the natural taste of the meat and if you wanted to add to it, you could dip it in the various sauces provided. Banchan was good. I dont see many places, at least down south of the border that offers banchan like garlic, stems crab salad. It was actually a nice treat. Not sure why, we also got the rice cake with vegetables. The meat in the dish was very tender and nice cuts of beef. We were sooo full. Id like to come back and try their other dishes.

We walked in near the opening time on a weekend, we were seated and then the restaurant quickly filled up afterwards. The interior is modern and minimally decorated, but it feels quite cozy and has traditional table settings with brightly coloured cushions for sitting. I loved the little pop of colour everywhere. The staff came by and gave us hot barley tea right away. We had just visited South Korea recently and drank barley tea often, so this was such a welcome and comforting drink. We decided to try the $25 lunch set (per person and minimum 2 people to order). There was SO much variety and food, it was amazing. I loved the Congee, Herb Pork Belly, Tangsuyuk or Sweet & Sour Pork, and of course the Grilled Pork Galbi! The congee had a creamy thick texture and it was lightly savoury. The perfect complement to the other more seasoned dishes. The Pork Belly was flavourful, rich, fatty and paired so nicely with the pickled radish. The Tangsuyuk was crispy, had a light batter, and a deliciously tangy but sweet sauce. The Chinese version is one of my childhood favourite dishes, and this Korean version of the classic dish was definitely very enjoyable. Lastly, one of our favourites were the Royal Pork Galbi that we were able to grill ourselves. We loved grilling it to our preferred level of charredness and the meat was so tender and flavourful. Overall a very enjoyable lunch and would come back for a special occasion or an occasional treat!

Super clean restaurant, fast service, food is pretty good, a few dishes were just ok. For the price, quantity and variety, definitely worth checking out.

Restaurant Richmond 4151 Hazelbridge Way, Aberdeen Centre Richmond, BC V6X 4J7 (604) 370-5540 info@sura-koreanbbq.co Saw it on TikTok, decided to celebrate a family member's birthday there. We called to make reservations for 11.30am on a weekday. 11 dishes for $25 per person. Usually when they have deals like this, some of the dishes are a hit & miss. Well...not this restaurant, all the 11 dishes were executed well & yummy... we liked every dish, it was nicely flavoured. Plus 3 banchan that consist of seaweed, kimchi & potatoes. The raw bulgogi pork was very nicely seasoned There was alot of food! We had to take some home, I saw people walking in with their own takeout containers. Wise move, they do charge 0.50 cents for each takeout container. So bring some of your own in case you cannot finish the food. Go in with an empty stomach & big appetite! Highly recommend, it is busy for lunch (the menu is only available for lunch) on a weekday, I cannot imagine the weekend. Space in the restaurant is ample, staff are friendly and lots of parking available in Aberdeen Mall

One of my go-to places for korean food. The atmosphere is very relaxed and servers are attentive. The marinated beef galbi is packed with flavor. My hubby likes to get the galbi-jim, meat is very tender. Also can't go wrong with the japchae. Happy eating !

One of many eateries in Aberdeen mall located on the first level. Good selection and portions for lunch are generous.

Premium royal galbi with saam set.

Fabulous KBBQ in Aberdeen mall! Ordered the premium royal galbi with excellent marbling. The extra saam set, while traditional, hid the fantastic tasting beef. The beef deserves its own personal time in your mouth. Elevated quality bonchon (refillable, of course!). Also got the Galbi-jjim - delicious, tender, braised short ribs with a savory sauce. The servers were friendly and attentive. Classic modern look with good suction fans so you won't have the cologne de boeuf when you walk out.

Bit of a wait on a Wednesday and I totally get why! The lunch special is very worth it at 25 CAD - you get a TON of food and a lot of variety. While some dishes weren't our favorite (fried pork) others were really great (pork belly, pickled radish banchan, Japchae). Free parking at Aberdeen Centre and you can wander Oomomo after to walk off lunch.

Bbq meat & green seafood pancake

Sure is conveniently located inside Aberdeen mall! There is ample seating and service is quick. We ordered a variety of meat items that were well seasoned. The green pancake was so good! I would come back just to eat that. The seating was comfy and the bbq grill nice and hot b it didn't burn the meat like other places. The washroom had a weird sign not to use your feet to flush...lol

This establishment is in the Aberdeen Mall in Richmond. Stopped by mid week for lunch...and came for the $25 lunch special. We were advised this location had temporarily stopped serving the lunch special. Opted for the Bibim-bap ($21) and the Royal Marinated Galbi ($55) for bbq. The presentation of all the dishes was very good and the beef was very tender...great marbling on the beef. I liked the variety of dishes that accompany the bbq. There was no issue with the service and our server was very pleasant and attentive. It was a positive food experience and happy to recommend Sura Korean BBQ.

Considering the price, the food was underwhelming. Bill came to over 200 for a table of two. Service also wasn't the greatest, took a while for us to be able to wave one of the servers down for anything.

Sura Set Lunch

I went to Sura the first time on a Saturday and tried their lunch set menu. This menu requires a minimum of two people ordering it and comes with an immense number of dishes! This lunch became my dinner as well. Service was on point with the food coming out really fast.

Like how they leave multiple tea pots and water on the tables. 24 items on the menu; appetizers, KFC, BBQ hot plate, rice & noodle and soup & stews. Banchan can be refilled once for free. We opted for medium spice (which was extremely mild). - Banchan - glazed potatoes (standard), kimchi (good kick) and bean sprouts (refreshing). - Seafood pancake ($25.99 large) - decent. - Chicken wings ($10.99) and boneless chicken balls ($11.99 for 7) - wings were standard, balls didn't have much of a crispy bite. - Pork bone hotpot ($37.99 small) - came with two bowls of rice. Reasonable amount of pork with a few potatoes, jalapeños and green onions. Broth was light and lacked depth. - Galbi beef short-rib hot plate ($29.99) - came with a salad. Short ribs were tender and juicy. - Bulgogi stir fried udon ($16.99) - the udon didn't have much texture, sauce wasn't satisfying. Skip it. - Seafood soft tofu stew ($15.99) - good amount of tofu but the broth was one-dimensional. Have had much better sundubu jjigae. Not bad but nothing exciting at DKC to warrant a return visit.

The lunch special does feel worth it with the side dishes and soup it came with. The stir fried squid was fine, taste is good, basically just a decent lunch dish. The normal banchan is a bit lacking in comparison to other Korean restaurants. Potatoes were okay. Broccoli was bland. Kimchi was a bit too fresh, could have been fermented a bit longer. The seafood pancake was disappointing. The only redeeming quality was what they had on top was crispy enough. Otherwise the seafood was basically the imitation crab meat that you see on top and maybe a few microscopic bits of octopus tentacles, and by few there was less than 5 pieces in our whole seafood pancake. The pancake part was too thick, therefore felt doughy to eat through. Service is fine, they do have the buttons if you need anything, so it was easy to notify them that you are ready to order or need anything. Don't have to wave down or look for service.

Came here for a couple of occasions and had a great time each time. I find the meat quality is reasonable for the price and I really enjoyed their soft tofu soup. Went there on a Friday at 6pm-ish and the place was busy but not completely full, so no wait for a table. Mid-sized space that looks fairly new and clean inside. The tables are circular with the grill in the center, and its an elevated grill top rather than the recessed one at most other KBBQ places. The low-back chairs open up into a storage basket that you can put your jacket inside. Menu is available via scanning QR code, but you still have to order from the staff. We got the spicy pork belly (with lettuce for wraps), the salt and oil beef rib fingers, and the fried rice which is cooked on the grill top. The staff cooks the meat for you on the grill. The rib fingers are tender, while the spicy pork belly make for a good lettuce wrap with the kimchi and bean sprouts they also put on the grill. To wrap it up, the fried rice is cooked after all of the meat, so the rice can soak up the flavors and grease from meat left on the grill. Pretty tasty overall. Also you get 8 banchans for table. Overall bill was little under $80, which was a little lower than I expected.

This place is busy! I would suggest booking ahead. Service is very friendly but hard to flag down because they are busy. The call button at the table didn't work. The food has big portions, especially the big pots. Normal price could be around $50+, but the budaejjigae is $37 here, and the pan was wide and deep. However, the downside was the taste. It does taste like normal Korean food, and things are a bit off. The budaejjigae feels like it didn't have dashi in it. The seafood green onion pancake was 90% imitation crab. Pajeons are supposed to be mainly green onion, but this felt like a cake of imitation crab only. Maybe a couple of pieces of green onion, cuttlefish, and shrimp. The fried chicken was ok.
