Must try for a different concept (ambiance) of dining experience. The staffs were great especially Oscar. Good food! Love the appetizers!

Really good authentic korean food. Just the right amount of spice and tons of flavor. Their Korean army stew is a great sized portion, enough to feed four easily. The service is great, and the place is usually packed during peak hours. They have pretty good happy hour specials also!

Awesome Korean restaurant and possibly the best bang for your buck!! We tried the beef set menu for 4. Lots of food as you can see, and eve coms with soy bean paste soup with beef inside. Best part, unlimited ban chan ( sides) you get 4 different varieties...so good. Service was quick and efficient. Food came quick and hot and fresh. Everything tasted fresh and just cooked. Volcano egg was awesome. So fluffy and made well. Set came with rice too. All for $79for 4 people including Highly recommended. Hidden gem in continental plaza. Cheers! Happy eating!

Stopped by this plaza for dinner and ended up at Dolpan - it was empty when we got there at 7:30PM but every table was full when we left! We got the corn cheese ($4) to start. It was really tasty but the cheese didn't stay melted for long. Next was the kalbi beef rice bowl ($15.50). It came with some well seasoned beef ribs and an egg, but it didn't have any veggies. The best dish was the army hot pot. Good amount of ramen, bean sprouts, rice cakes, sausage, spam, tofu, pork belly, kimchi and topped with cheese! Also the perfect amount of spice. Banchan has to be ordered separately at extra charge.

**Review is for my indoor experience in March, prior to indoor dining closing** Fun spot for KBBQ but definitely quite pricey for what you get. My friend and I came for lunch on a Saturday around 12:30, and to my surprise, the whole restaurant was empty. They have a good variety of Korean food, from hot plates to stews and ramens to rice boxes to hot pots, but we were here for the barbecue. Instead of ordering the meats a la carte, we opted to get Combo C, which comes with 2 cuts of beef and 2 cuts of pork, for $59. In particular, you get beef brisket and boneless short ribs, and pork collar and pork belly. When ordering, you have the option of grilling yourself or asking them to grill for you. We asked for them to grill. All the meat is cut into bite-sized pieces and grilled before being served on a single plate. There was plenty of meat, so much so that we were really struggling to finish everything by the end of the meal, but there were only a couple pieces of lettuce to eat with it. Definitely wanted more... I also wanted a variety of marinated and un-marinated meat. Instead, everything was unmarinated, and I had to dip all my meat into the two dipping sauces provided (samjung and yookjung). We also shared a side order of japchae for $3.95, which we both enjoyed. Dolpan is located in a shopping plaza, and there were plenty of parking spots when we came.

Tip to the owners... remove pictures like this from your Yelp profile if you can't be bothered to fixing your food!

It's been a while since I've been this disappointed at a Korean Restaurant. I'll give this restaurant a pass for charging "extra" for banchans, ie. side dishes, another "extra charge" for a hot pot dish that is normally served with rice at ALL other Korean Restaurants that we've visited and the ridiculous cost of all these "extra charges" ...... But two things that I will not let pass is the disgusting/poor representation of Korean food and the poor service! I should have known that we were ordering crap when I saw the price for the Seafood pancake, which was more of a Seafood square. This is 100% frozen because I've bought this same looking/plastic tasting Seafood pancake from a Korean Market before. The Bulgogi Hot pot wasn't "HOT", not even close to lukewarm, and doesn't come 2 bowls of rice as indicated in the menu photo attached. The worst of the three dishes that we ordered was the "Gochujang" pork rice bowl. I'm married to a Korean and know the True spice level of ANYTHING WITH GOCHUJANG.... This was closer to Ketchup! And to top of this disappointing experience, the two waitresses working were either new or had no interest in making any tips. Other than serving our food, there was ZERO customer service! No follow up and no hint passable customer service! I understand everyone has their off day but if this is how the service is All The Time, might I suggest switching career paths! I am aware that most Asian Restaurants try to accommodate to more Western Pallets, keeping dishes on the blander side as most restaurant owners assume that customers not from their own region may not like the food. But I'm not even sure if the head chef of this restaurant is even Asian let alone Korea because Korean Food does NOT TASTE LIKE THIS! Our three course meal wasn't cheap either and the only reason that we even tipped is because we're used to tipping some amount even for poor service. So if you're Really craving some REAL KOREAN FOOD this is NOT THE PLACE you'd want to spend your money on!!! I'd rather spend a little extra on gas money and head for either Coquitlam/Burnaby for the real experience. So disappointed and will avoid this restaurant like the plague moving forward. I hope that our expensive/disappointing loss is any other potential customers gain to find a better representation of Korean Food!

First time coming here * No complimentary side dishes * Kimchi is extremely sour maybe they kept it for too long it's getting old * japchae tastes bland noodles are hard and there's no sesame oil added * rice cake not spicy and very sticky and bland * beef bbq is the only thing that's ok but not really tasty either Very disappointed at this place wouldn't come again!!

Been craving KBBQ and this was my first time trying our Dolpan. Unfortunately it didn't really hit the spot and I left still craving good KBBQ. We got the Beef Set (Set B on the menu) because it said it was good for 3-4 people. It came with: beef brisket, beef prime boneless short ribs, LA kalbi hot plate, hot tofu soup, rice bowls (x3), japchae, a cheese omelette and some sides (daikon, pink radish, sweet-soy potatoes, lettuce and some sauce). Reading from the menu we assumed it would be a lot of food but you can already tell from the pics there wasn't much ‍ for $88 you would expect the portions to be much bigger and to actually fill up 3-4 people's tummies. We had to order more sides on top of the set because we were still hungry. Also kinda wish the set included kimchi as well.. Not really sure how I felt about the set, thought it was kinda way overpriced for nothing. The portion was so tiny and definitely NOT enough for 3-4 people. Also we were under the impression that we would be able to cook the meats ourselves but to our surprise they was no grill and they cooked it in the back.. I very disappointed in this meal to say the least. We left hungry and also felt like we were cheated from the set we ordered lol. Besides that, the food was pretty good and decent. My favourite was the tofu soup and the japchae. Though both were extremely salty and we were all so thirsty afterwards. To sum it up I wont be back. Even though the meats were yummy and well-seasoned I felt like it wasn't worth it for the price of the set we got and we were all really unsatisfied. But glad I got to try it.

    matcha crusted pork belly
    Andrew S.

Not very often do you find a Korean place where they barbecue some of the food for you. We ordered their special matcha crusted pork belly. The server cooked that for us, which I found interesting. Maybe it is to ensure that it is consistent for their special items. We did order a hotpot too but that was just your normal 'let it cook/boil in soup'. The place is small and some of the tables have fans above them. I recommend making a reservation so that you can get a table. The matcha pork belly was okay. They give you a small bowl of matcha powder for you to dip the cook pork belly. I found that it may help as by itself, you taste a hint of matcha but it is a bit dry. The japchae was good, it had a slight sweet taste, which was different than other places. The hotpot was really good. The soup also had a nice sweetness to it, so with it mixed with all the ingredients/food, the soup became very flavorful. The bulgogi beef ribs was tender and delicious.

    Lunch menu

I love coming to Dolpan for food! They have a great lunch menu for BBQ meat but still offer some amazing side selection fo food, from bibimbap, to soups, to large hotspots. Today, I'll be mainly sharing my lunch menu experience: They offer two lunch menu BBQ options: a pork special $18 per person and pork and beef $24 per person. Note it's minimum of 2 order per combo. We ordered the pork combo and the meat were cooked perfectly! Every time it's perfectly crispy yet tender and the skin is very nice and chewy. Each order (per person) comes with a bowl of rice, 1 soup to share (for two people) and banchan (side dishes). I love their side dishes! They have a few small modern twists on their side dishes which I love - like the onion salads. The only thing is, they don't have kimchi! You will have to ask for it specifically and it may cost. Their service is also pretty good: they grill the meat for you (more modern take on korean bbq) and are there to consistently refill your side dishes, water, or any other requests. The place is also very well kept, clean, and spacious. There's two floors!!! If you're not sure where to start with their menu, I recommend lunch- less packed as well.

    Army Hot Pot
    Kim L.

I've seen this restaurant blowing up on instagram, and I can definitely see why. Although this restaurant is most known for their Korean bbq meat, I wanted to try their army hot pot, as my boyfriend adores instant noodles, kimchi and sausages. This was the perfect place to try it out! The army hot pot was plenty of food for the both of us, with a variety of sausages, cabbage, instant noodles, and even a slice of cheese! I thought the cheese was weird at first, however it added a unique flavour to the hotpot that I didn't expect myself to like. The service at Dolpan is great as well. The servers help you cook and monitor your food - so this is great for those who are new to Korean food and Korean bbq. At the time, the table next to us got the Korean bbq meat, and it smelled amazing. I'm definitely coming back to try their meat next time!

    Very cool design

It's the best Korean BBQ place I have eaten in metro vancouver. The side dishes were impressive. The quantity justified for its price. Unlimited side dishes were first ever encountered in richmond. It feeled and tasted like in Korean town in LA

It is not a restaurant, though there are tables and chairs outside by the food court. Service was typical Cantonese. Order, pay, and get out. We ordered a roast pork rice and a roast duck rice. The portion size was larger than what I can get in the 626. It seemed like a good value for the price. It wasn't cheap. Both the roast pork and roast duck were flavorful. We asked a staff, and sadly I did not get the birthday person gets to eat free choice. There's a 2-HOUR eating limit, otherwise there's a cost charge for any leftovers. Food-wise, I really liked the differently priced tiers with each tier offering an amazing variety of options. My 3 friends and I agreed on *DELUXE TIER* for $39.85 per person, and it includes all of the food options below its tier which is classic tier for $28.85. All of the beef belly choices had amazing flavour when grilled over charcoal stove, and honestly it was probably my most favourite item on the menu. The chicken wings were on the smaller side but it still packs great flavour somehow. And the 'cold noodle with soup' had excellent flavour as well but it's a hefty bowl so it's better to save your stomach space for just meat only instead of carbs. The downside of my experience is the open bar which you can find in the middle of the restaurant. Its options was pretty lackluster and after circling the options at the open bar twice, I ended up NOT grabbing anything for the counter. Maybe they will change it up in the future, but at the present time I was a customer there, I did not like any of the choices on the open bar. Picture will be attached with caption. Overall, would I come back to Jin Tan Grill House? Yes. I would like to try their top tier called *SUPREME* for $68.85. For the choices supreme tier offers, I hope it's worth it in my future visit. For now, the *Deluxe* tier option was excellent but I might consider just coming here alone or with 1 or 2 friends next time because it is pretty expensive. Definitely recommended.

We intended on getting the à la carte menu at first but realized that based on how many big eaters we had, it was more bang for our buck with the all you can eat menu. We chose the lowest tier of all you can eat and there were some people who preferred seafood; even if you upgraded to the highest tier the selection in our opinion, didn't get drastically better that it was "worth it". We had a party of six and was seated at a long table with a divider. When we got to our seat, the staff had placed the divider at exactly the table edges connecting the two stove but it was so squishy and uncomfortable for 6 people that we had to move the divider over a little. There's a time limit for all you can eat however with one stove and us not knowing that the vegetables came raw and in full foiled packages, it took a long time to grill anything. Our waitress came over many many times to remind us about the time limit and even then... we were well over our time limit even though we only put in two rounds of food. One stove shared between six people was awful. It's not like our stove could cook any faster even if the waitress rushed us. We were even ending the meal with s'mores and the waitress couldn't wait any longer and brought over the bill. We had to put down our s'mores stick to pay the bill so she could leave us alone to finish the meal... the restaurant was not busy, there were plenty of empty tables and there was no one waiting in the lobby. Did not appreciate the service here. Overall, food was greasy and not memorable (as I just tried a different grilled meat spot a few days prior). The portions were weird. Most of the dishes were severely under portioned so we made sure to up our portions for round two. Our time was up before we could even put in our final round three order. The staff also didn't respect some of the items. We put in ice cream on the first order as people wanted to use it as a grease palate cleanser and it was only when we followed up with the waitress did they say "oh we thought it should be served at the end of the meal instead since it's a dessert". Perhaps following the orders of what customers mark off would help with better customer service....

The place has a funky interior, with colourful LED signs. Makes for a bit of a nightclub feel. Staff were friendly and helpful, which was nice, as it was my 1st time here. As of the time of writing, I think they have fully switched to AYCE now. There is the hot pot only option, and a skewer upgrade. Get the skewer upgrade. The cows and lambs will thank you. Just from this alone, it is very easy to eat one's money's worth when compared to the competition. The AYCE includes a drink of choice, as well as a small ice cream at the end. The hot pot section is very decent. Grab a pot and tongs, and fill up the pot with goodies. Pick a soup base, and they cook it for you and bring it to your table. I really like how the pots are rather shallow, so that there isn't too much (liquid) soup. I tried several flavours and everything was good. The skewers though. Oh wow. I don't know how many animals my buddy and I burned through. We were double fisting and tearing them animals to shreds. Talk about pure bliss. Everything was fresh and delicious. Honestly if I had to pick a last meal, this place would definitely be a candidate. With great reverence, I highly recommend.
