Third time at Meat Up, but first time since they changed their menu to AYCE. Came for a friend's birthday since they get the meal free with at least 4 guests! We got the gold menu ($48.99) since there was literally *almost* nothing good on the basic menu. The gold menu also came with the hot pot which we also gave a try. All the fried food/cold appetizers were just in trays for self-serve. Everything was kept mildly warm which was just okay. Food came out pretty fast; they lit up the heater grill for us once but when we asked for it to be heat up again, they didn't want to do it since the food was going to burn. Everything basically had the same seasoning, unless it said "honey", then the marinade was a bit sweeter. Meat quality itself is decent; some cuts were chewy, but some were pretty good. It's pretty hit or miss so I'd recommend just getting 1-2 of every skewer and sharing it with your party to see which one is good. My favourites were the pork belly and the beef. Hot pot is pretty similar to Big Way and all those other chains; it was pretty decent, and a good way to get your veggies in with all the meat skewers! I ordered the collagen bone broth and I liked that it's not too salty. Honestly decently busy for a Monday. Would be fun trying it out with a big group! Drinks are reasonable: Ordered a beer for $6.99.

Have heard about this skewer bbq place for and while now. Finally got to try it. Overall, the variety was decent for the price which also includes a self serve hotpot with your choice of soup base. The selection of hot food was limited but sufficient given the main goal of the restaurant was the bbq skewers. We chose a variety of meat but the selection of bbq vegetables was very limited . Some of the bbq skewers came very overcooked and dry while some came with a good texture. so it really varied. the selection of items for the self serve hotpot was average. Very similar to other self serve hotpot places.

Been wanting to try this place out because we love getting chinese bbq but they can be pricey per a la carte. We tried out the classic menu which included bbq items and hotpot. All the bbq skewers that came out were very big, juicy and flavorful. They definitely did not skimp on size even though it's an AYCE. On the other hand, the hotpot broths were just okay and there were not a lot of options for the toppings. I wish there was a cheaper option to get just bbq and not hotpot but overall it was still a pleasant experience!

We met our friends up here for dinner. The name says it all. I liked that the place specializes in skewers and that you can get it as acye. They also had some other foods you can get on your own as well as order. The flavor of the meat was good as they were properly seasoned. Its definitely a good place to check out.

This place has been in Richmond for a while, finally got a chance to try it with friends. It's in the central Richmond on No.3 Road, there's free parking which was a bonus. The AYCE menu has different tiers. We chose the Gold tier, which comes with hotpot option as well. After sitting down, we were greeted by their staff, explained how everything works. The section of Gold Tier comes with unlimited hotpot with 7 soup bases, and different kinds of BBQ skewers, over 30 kinds of food. The selection was huge. All for $45 per adult. The ambience is vibrant and cheerful, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Our skewers are freshly made, nicely seasoned. The selection of the side dish is fantastic, especially if you like spicy flavors. The hotpot selection is also pretty good, and there are 7 kinds of soup bases to choose from. We also ordered some alcohol drinks, grape and peach cocktail Barrel. The portion and the price don't really add up. It's definitely on the pricy side, wouldn't recommend if you have a large group. Each one would probably only get a little bit. For hotpot, I got an individual pot to choose my ingredient, and I chose the Malatang soup base. It was not as spicy as I thought it would be, but you can increase the spicy level. The experience overall was great, definitely for meat lovers with a group of ppl who have big appetite. After all, it's AYCE. You definitely want to get your money worth.

I visited Meat up a few times, this is my favorite AYCE Chinese BBQ spot. Their skewers were full of flavors and tender and so delicious. This time, I chose the option including hot pot. We can pick any ingredient at hot pot corner and pick one of soup base from 6 flavors. I chose Collagen one and it was based on beef bone broth and tasted so good. BBQ skewered were served by staff and each one were freshly cooked in the kitchen. I think their lamb, pork items were really good. So tender and flavorful. Beef were ok. And we ordered beer tower. It was a lot of fun. Appertizer section also offer deep fried chicken, fish skin, sesame ball, salad , marinated vegetable and more. Overall, I really satisfied with this restaurant. I will definitely go back

I had been reading recent reviews and was prepared for the brazilian ayce style where they come around with skewers and you pick and choose until you're full and turn the card over. However, it was the order what you want version. This was weekend lunch. On the menu we thought the $35.99 lunch special was weekdays only but it worked for weekends as well. I feel like they keep changing the types of skewers around. When we went it had cheese sausage, and fish tofu but now it seems to be broccoli and garlic sausage. Before, it was 1 bite chicken and sausage, then cheese sausage and chicken skin. You have to keep checking every month. The lamb and beef skewers were especially delicious. The chicken skewer was dry. Chicken wings were ok. We ordered the mantou and honey toast but they never came. The hotpot was very lacking. They don't have any ingredients that I like and only have the cheaper types. It also took a very long time for it to come out. My husbands mala soup was 50% oil. My green sichuan pepper was nice. Their sauce holders were ridiculously big so people often waste sauces. The ice cream is limited to 1 scoop per person. It was pretty good ice cream but incredibly small. Overall I would come back for the skewers.

Scallops had a lot of garlic but the food was flavoursome. We got the top package and there was a lot of variety. If you don't have reservations and wait is long at peak hours. Skewers aren't bad either and lots of free parking outside.

Came by for all you can eat lunch. Restaurant is very spacious with QR code scanning. Ordered a ton of skewers and helped ourselves to the hot pot too. Choose your own ingredients and soup base. The beef and lamb skewers were very tasty. Service was alright.

I came here with some friends for the AYCE BBQ and I think the experience was not bad. I don't think I would come here on my own but it was fun with a group. The meat options weren't super extensive (since we didn't upgrade to the premium menu) but combined with the free side dishes, there were quite of bit of items to choose from. I must say that their cold noodle salad was really yummy. At the end, there is also free ice cream (and the flavour options were really good). My mango ice cream was one of the better mango ice creams I've had

One of my absolute favourite AYCE places, I normally get the gold tier and I think it's super reasonable pricing, so much variety and there's hot pot too! Something about their fried tomato noodle is just sooo good to me

If you are craving skewers this is the spot to go! AYCE at 3 different prices, quality and taste are excellent. Chicken gizzards are my favorite. Lobster tail for diamond tier.

It is not a restaurant, though there are tables and chairs outside by the food court. Service was typical Cantonese. Order, pay, and get out. We ordered a roast pork rice and a roast duck rice. The portion size was larger than what I can get in the 626. It seemed like a good value for the price. It wasn't cheap. Both the roast pork and roast duck were flavorful. We asked a staff, and sadly I did not get the birthday person gets to eat free choice. There's a 2-HOUR eating limit, otherwise there's a cost charge for any leftovers. Food-wise, I really liked the differently priced tiers with each tier offering an amazing variety of options. My 3 friends and I agreed on *DELUXE TIER* for $39.85 per person, and it includes all of the food options below its tier which is classic tier for $28.85. All of the beef belly choices had amazing flavour when grilled over charcoal stove, and honestly it was probably my most favourite item on the menu. The chicken wings were on the smaller side but it still packs great flavour somehow. And the 'cold noodle with soup' had excellent flavour as well but it's a hefty bowl so it's better to save your stomach space for just meat only instead of carbs. The downside of my experience is the open bar which you can find in the middle of the restaurant. Its options was pretty lackluster and after circling the options at the open bar twice, I ended up NOT grabbing anything for the counter. Maybe they will change it up in the future, but at the present time I was a customer there, I did not like any of the choices on the open bar. Picture will be attached with caption. Overall, would I come back to Jin Tan Grill House? Yes. I would like to try their top tier called *SUPREME* for $68.85. For the choices supreme tier offers, I hope it's worth it in my future visit. For now, the *Deluxe* tier option was excellent but I might consider just coming here alone or with 1 or 2 friends next time because it is pretty expensive. Definitely recommended.

We intended on getting the à la carte menu at first but realized that based on how many big eaters we had, it was more bang for our buck with the all you can eat menu. We chose the lowest tier of all you can eat and there were some people who preferred seafood; even if you upgraded to the highest tier the selection in our opinion, didn't get drastically better that it was "worth it". We had a party of six and was seated at a long table with a divider. When we got to our seat, the staff had placed the divider at exactly the table edges connecting the two stove but it was so squishy and uncomfortable for 6 people that we had to move the divider over a little. There's a time limit for all you can eat however with one stove and us not knowing that the vegetables came raw and in full foiled packages, it took a long time to grill anything. Our waitress came over many many times to remind us about the time limit and even then... we were well over our time limit even though we only put in two rounds of food. One stove shared between six people was awful. It's not like our stove could cook any faster even if the waitress rushed us. We were even ending the meal with s'mores and the waitress couldn't wait any longer and brought over the bill. We had to put down our s'mores stick to pay the bill so she could leave us alone to finish the meal... the restaurant was not busy, there were plenty of empty tables and there was no one waiting in the lobby. Did not appreciate the service here. Overall, food was greasy and not memorable (as I just tried a different grilled meat spot a few days prior). The portions were weird. Most of the dishes were severely under portioned so we made sure to up our portions for round two. Our time was up before we could even put in our final round three order. The staff also didn't respect some of the items. We put in ice cream on the first order as people wanted to use it as a grease palate cleanser and it was only when we followed up with the waitress did they say "oh we thought it should be served at the end of the meal instead since it's a dessert". Perhaps following the orders of what customers mark off would help with better customer service....
