Excellent Chinese skewers and great that they open late! We went on a Saturday around 10pm and it was still a full house, but fortunately no wait. We were a party of 3 so we got a bunch of skewers (chicken wings, one bite lamb, one bite beef, pork intestines, chicken skin) and mung bean pasta and garlic eggplant, which was a good amount of food. We also tried the Kokanee beer (Canadian) and Tsingtao beers, but I still enjoyed the Tsingtao more. The skewers had a nice spice and a little bit spicy (super bearable, just more as a flavor); I liked the chicken wings and beef the most, followed by the lamb. The mung bean pasta was pretty chewy, and the garlic eggplant was fantastic even for someone that doesn't usually like eggplant. Some friends of mine from Calgary were visiting and wanted to try this place because they don't have similar BBQ skewer restaurants back home. I'd never been to such a place and was curious to try too. I liked the ambiance - lots of wood, feels like I'm in a hot. There were cushions on the wood benches so it was more comfortable to sit. The food itself was quite underwhelming. We tried a bunch of different meats and they all had the same cumin spice that was overpowering to the point that I sometimes couldn't tell if I was eating pork, beef, or lamb. Worst service I've had in awhile. I understand English may not be their first language but the attitude and rudeness was palpable here. When we told one of the female servers that my partner has a nut allergy, she told us that everything has nuts and that we should just leave. Since her English wasn't good, we decided to let another server know. This time the server told us there are no nuts in the skewers and just walked away. My girlfriend and I have drove pass this interesting Chinese bbq place many time, we finally decided to give it a try and we were impressed! The interior really gives a Chinese vibe that brings me back to the little town I was born in, all the tables and chairs are wooden, finished with a glossy feel. We usually love to sit together when we dine out, the tables were big enough for us to do that! My favorite dish was the Special Lamb kebabs, topped and marinated with tremendous seasonings. Most of the kebabs have a minimum of 5 skewer, there're also smaller bite size ones that starts with 10. I really like how the price is not too expensive if you're not planning to order too much. We decided to have our 2020 NYE dinner and a Birthday party combined here this evening. Our girlfriends who have been here in the last said it would be a good experience so we decided to come here. Let's start from the very beginning....we made a reservation so that was great! Considering how full it was, we were so glad we did this. Now, parking....this was a nightmare. We waited quite a bit at the front of the restaurant, where parking is available for customers who visit the shops/restaurants. We didn't realize there was parking specifically for the restaurant towards the rear, so when we did, we were happy but boy did we wait for a while! It was pouring so we were hesitant to go and find parking elsewhere. The food was okay. I think the best thing we're the vegetable sides we ordered, I.e. garlic chives and enoki mushrooms. The lamb skewers were my second favourite followed by the chicken skewers. Everything was nice and flavourful. We ordered a cod fish dish but unfortunately, this wasn't the best dish of the night. It was an expensive dish and we were told by a friend who works in the fishing industry that it wasn't cod, rather Dover Sole. For someone who eats fish regularly, I was also inclined to believe it wasn't cod. We asked the waiter, who came back to confirm it was cod. We tried to convince them it was but they never really came around to our table again. We probably could've taken a bit to have it tested but we decided not to go through the trouble. Service was slow; restaurant was packed; and food was okay. If you ever plan going here, don't order a fish dish unless you're desperate to eat it right away. YUMMY SKEWERS! I love the skewers here for a quick bite late at night. My favourite is their beef and lamb skewers. The spicy chicken wings is tender. The skewers are lightly spiced up. I LOVE this place. The combination of spices on the meats is so great and flavourful. For COVID they seem to be practicing good social distancing measures with their tables spaced far enough apart (some of them remaining unused to accommodate this) I agree with other reviewers that this place can get pricey, which is why for me it's more of an occasional treat if I'm in the area and feeling bougie. I recommend the abalone, the fish tofu, the spicy hot pot, the chicken wings, and the spicy fern root noodle. Another thing people seem to be worried about is the spice level. I am relatively weak to spice, as in I can handle mild spice, but medium is pushing it and hot is not a good time. The food is ok but the one star review is for the awful experience at the restaurant. My friend visited this restaurant on saturday and it was a rainy night. Most restaurants have the common sense to put up caution wet floor signs or at least mop up the puddles but not this place. Not only did they watch my friend take a nasty fall skinning and badly bruising her knee, they made no attempt to apologize or check on her to see if she was ok. The employees just stood there and watched. When she complained they did not care AT ALL. They put up the wet floor sign AFTERWARDS and just brushed her off. Update. Went again after 1 month. This place is still awesome! Brought my bf and friends whom are either white or Fijian and the service went out of their way for us. Spoke English. So that's totally untrue. And the food is great. People who think it tastes like cigarettes or too spicy don't know what cumin lamb is or the region of food it's coming from. The beef was definitely on the rare medium rare side which I enjoyed. The Lamb was great. It is alternated with pieces of fat so you have to be okay with that.
