This is one of my family's favourite Indian restaurants to go to for dine in or takeout. The staff are very nice and they are often busy so I recommend making reservations if you were going to go visit them with the group. The portions are well sized and well priced. They often have lunch specials as well but you will have to inquire within for those as I believe they change. Our favourites to order are: eggplant bhartha (perfect over rice and for dipping naan into), fish pakora, aloo gobhi (seasoned cauliflower & potatoes) and their lamb biryani (tender pieces of lamb and delicious rice). Usually we order medium spice for our curries but you could easily ask for mild and still be satisfied. Their butter chicken is delicious! We also enjoy ordering their mango lassi and chai. there is limited parking in the shared complex so just keep that in mind as well.

We were planning to eat somewhere else for lunch but they were unexpectedly closed for a vacation. We decided to check out Agra Tandoori Restaurant, which is in a plaza that houses a few businesses and Argo Greek Cuisine Pizza & Pasta. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 12:30pm) and grabbed a booth in the back. The inside is simple, almost bare bones, but the service is kind and they came back several times to refill our waters. Menu is standard but they offer four lunch specials ($10.00 to $13.95). They also ask how spicy you want your meal; we went with medium but I didn't find there was much heat. - Masala chai ($3.25) - flavours were mute and weak. Have yet to find a masala chai that we like. - Vegetable pakora ($10.95) - not too greasy and decent texture. Serviceable. - 2x Non-veg lunch special ($13.95) - we opted for the goat curry (while J went with the butter chicken). The goat curry was flavourful but consisted more of bones than meat. The tandoori chicken was an unexpected (but enjoyable) addition. Both the chickpea and daal were solid. Naan was a great portion. Lastly, the gulab jamun was a delightful bite to end our meal. - Veggie lunch special ($12.95) - only difference is that the veggie thali came with paneer makhani. The paneer was a bit bland when you ate it on it's own but the slightly sweet, creamy sauce was good. Nothing's calling me to come running back to AT but it was a decent lunch. 3.5 stars.

Fish Pakora. Deep fried to deliciousness.

A soon to expire GroupOn and the restaurant announcing Dine-In services were starting again meant I happily made a reservation for dinner at Agra Tandoor Restaurant (also because you needed to make reservations if you wished to use the GroupOn). This experience has made me a fan for the following reasons. AMBIANCE: Located in a strip mall, the restaurant had a small parking lot out front with enough parking spots available. Could have been thanks to it being a weekday, or the fact we had made reservations a little earlier in the dinner hour, but I always like easy to find parking. The restaurant itself is a little on the smaller/boutique side, which was only exasperated by COVID restrictions - upon entering, you just knew they had to remove a number of tables to meet capacity restrictions. GROUPON: Full disclosure, I treat GroupOns as a great excuse to try new-to-me restaurants. The Groupon allowed us to have an appetizer, two entrees and a dessert. In the past, some restaurants have a very small "GroupOn" menu we can order from, but not Agra Tandoori! We were told we could choose from the entire menu; I could use one hand to count the number of items that were not part of the GroupOn offer (i.e. dinner combo specials). Drinks, bread/naan, and rice were extra which I found more than fair. Fish Pakora was the chosen appetizer. Simple ingredients of garlic, ginger, and deep fried to deliciousness. The dish came out piping hot and in generous appetizer proportions (I swore I almost mistook it for an entree). My entree was the Mixed Grill and the boyfriend chose the Bombay Fish Curry, and we ordered ordered garlic naan and basmati rice as our sides. I thought the mixed grill was a great choice for me, as I got to try different meats: chicken, fish and lamb and loaded with onions. The portions were so huge I took half of it home and I had it as the main part of my lunch for the next 2 days! I only tried one piece of the fish curry (a little too spicy for me), but I have it on good authority the fish (accompanied by the garlic naan) was to die for. Dessert was the hardest one to choose, but we eventually settled on Pista Kulfi which as far as I could gather was homemade ice cream with pistachio embedded on top. For the food proportions and quality, a win! SERVICE: I thought service was another solid win. Everyone was nice and friendly, all the staff were masked up. Water glasses were refilled in a timely manner, we were asked multiple times if our food was okay (definitely), and they helped explain the dessert items that were unfamiliar to us. Food came out in a relatively fast manner, and even with the restaurant at COVID capacity, I never felt like we were too crowded, or the food took too long. There is another location open by Marine Way, I might put that on my to-try list in the future.

We live not too far away and have been meaning to try this place for a while as we've heard good things, and there aren't too many Indian options in the area. They are on Groupon all the time, so I was a little apprehensive but finally decided to go. The restaurant is located in a little strip mall on Canada's Way and berry unassuming. The waiting area was full of food delivery people, so take out is popular here as we saw a nonstop come and go of delivery people throughout the night. We were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is very dimly lit. We ordered the paneer pakora, butter prawn, prawn korma, a side of rice and naan, and ras malai. The paneer were cut into big rectangular chunks and fried well and tasty with the chutney. For $10 It was a really good portion size and filling too. The butter prawn, and korma prawn were standard sized for $16. Both were tasty, and the prawns had good crunch to them, but I did find the butter sauce to be a bit on the salty side and medium spicy was not very spicy. The ras malai came in a small stemmed glass. It was tasty and had lots of pistachio flavour, but I found the rose a bit overwhelming (but I'm also not a huge fan of rose, so take that with a rain of salt). All in all, glad we have a decent Indian restaurant not too far away. We will definitely be back, and it will be our go to for takeout.

A handwritten thank you note had been attached to every take out order I've made. Collecting them because kindness is sunshine.

Glad to see Agra Tandoori staying strong during difficult times. Very limited seating ensures everyone's well being, and the food quality remains exceptional as always. Most impressed that i get a beautifully hand written thank note attached to every take it order. It's thoughtful and I'm as grateful for the sentiments as they are for my business.

This little gem is tucked in at a strip mall on Canada Way. Must try the Shrimp Pakora appy. Its light and fluffy like a cloud of shrimp but a bit pricey for $11 We also really liked the Malai Kofta. Which is a veggie dish, with cheese balls, and the sauce is made with cashews, butter and onions The flavor profile is super delish The garlic nan also was a hit and the chicken biryani was very tasty. It's great that we could choose our level of spice. The staff were very helpful I would come back to try their combos and dessert next time

I've driven past this restaurant many many times. Today I decided to have dinner here. I was NOT disappointed! Service was on point. Polite, friendly and helpful staff. The food was amazing and served in an appeasing display. Generous portions. Delicious flavour. Ample parking. I am definitely going to dine here again

An unassuming and seemingly small Indian restaurant, serving all of your expected staples, Agra absolutely delivers with surprisingly amazing value. Based on two recent lunch time visits with accompanying fellow diners to this dining establishment, I've come to conclude my opinion on two things as follows: 1) the food, and 2) everything else. If you can get past the average decor, strange background music choices (or sometimes no background music at all), and service that is simply straightforward, what you will find is the most amazing array of various well known Indian specialties as well as the more uncommon delicacies. Here are some key takeaways for your future visit: 1) the portions of food - absolutely spectacular. Again, considering only the product of the kitchen and not the other aspects of the restaurant as a whole, they definitely don't cheap out here. Also, regarding the portion sizes, for both of my visits I ordered the non-veg lunch special (see photo attached) which is less than $20.00 and which is plenty enough food for one person. On my second visit, I ordered an entree of chili chicken which I single handedly finished along with the lunch special, but in hindsight could have saved half the dish for leftovers. 2) the quality of food - Every bite was a symphony of flavors, every combination of the various elements a perfect orchestration of delicious proportions, every spoonful a plunge into a pool of joy and wonder. Absolutely some of the most delicious Indian food I have had in a few months. The lamb and chicken were almost always tender and not overcooked, and the accompanying dishes were fun to explore as well. 3) spice level- whatever you order, if you order medium spice or over, it will come out hot and I mean HOT. If you order very spicy, you will get what you asked for. I like spicy food so I've gotten medium spicy levels and even that was almost borderline too hot for me. Nonetheless, I still found that the level of spiciness did not detract from my overall experience which I quite enjoyed very much. Overall, for what it is, Agra Tandoori Restaurant deserves a five star rating from me. Despite several small flaws that could be improved upon to enhance the overall experience of the diner, make no mistake that you will leave with your bellies full and most likely a takeout container for leftovers. Come support this local business!

I was here with 2 friends on May 19th after hiking. One of my friends wanted to have vegetarian food and my another friend and I picked lunch buffet option ($13.95 on Saturday and Sunday) at Agra. My friend P ordered Veggie Thali ($14.50) and her food came with Naan bread with variety of veggie curry. Her food also came with free Indian dessert Gulab Jamun. I had variety of food such as Butter Chicken, Beef Kofta, Tandoori Chicken, Veggie Curry and some rice. I also got to try Goat Curry from Agra that was a new experience for me. I personally found Beef Kofta to be smelly , however it tasted good (Beef Kofta prolly has some lamb in it). My another friend M enjoyed buffet as much as I did. She really liked Gulab Jamun and everything else from the buffet section. We both got to choose a drink for the buffet,( we got to choose Chai or pop) so we picked iced tea and coke. I wish Naan bread was softer, but it was okay. I really liked Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken and Dal. Salad option was good too. One of the Indian salad was spicy though.

I made reservations for us for 4pm, so as to take advantage of their Happy Hour. We went earlier today (a Wednesday) and the place was empty at 4pm. I think it fills up later, for dinner. (I still advise making reservations as you never really know if it's going to be busy). Right off the bat, we were blown away by the interior. It is gorgeous! Small, but gorgeous. The murals, the chandeliers, the bar....and omg, the bathrooms. If you visit, you MUST check out the bathrooms. They have the most fabulous sinks I have ever seen. They didn't have a large selection of HH offerings, unfortunately, but what they did have was amazingly good. My friends who were extremely knowledgeable on Indian cuisine ordered for us, and we shared 3 different small plates (tandoori vegetable momos, cochin cauliflower bites, and some sort of delicious fried onions), and 2 desserts (soan paid malai khwaab, and foxtail millet pudding). And just...wow, everything was SO SO good. The three appetizers were so flavorful and the desserts, unlike anything I've ever had before and simply delicious. We also had drinks (but, of course!). One friend had a mango lassi which she loved, one friend had a high ball which she loved, and I had a mango mojito which I loved. (See a pattern? lol). All was great. Our server, Leesa (not sure of spelling) was so incredibly personable and lovely, and a gentleman I gather is the owner came by twice to make sure everything was okay. We felt like VIPs, with all the care and attention we got. Seriously, the folks here could not be nicer. I'm already planning on bringing my two daughters here. I know they'll love this place. Heck, anyone would love this place. My friends and I all plan on returning. Great great place!
