Nice views of Cruz's ships, In Vancouver BC. This place is pricey but food and drinks are pretty tasty. We ordered the 'nduja pork flatbread which is a perfect combination of sweet & spicy, tender yet crispy on the edges, this flatbread has has some hot honey drizzle with ricotta and mozzarella cheese, green olives, arugula basil, you will want to finish the whole thing, they also carry the strong bow hard dry apple cider & my husband had a manhattan. - we'd like to recognize Dawn who can help you in your decision & recommendations- she also was very helpful if your looking for places to visit during your stay in Vancouver

Staff is friendly and courteous. The seating and tables are very comfortable We had the breakfast buffet which had the standard fare, but the food available was a higher quality and taste. We are in a hurry to board our ship so unfortunately, we didn't have the time to sample the menu. We were able to see our ship at dock outside the enormous windows.

This is the more casual restaurant in the Pan Pacific hotel. There is a buffet breakfast, $39/adult and $20/child. The selection is decent enough. We ate there twice. They also serve dinner (Thu-Sat 17:00-21:30) and a Sunday brunch buffet (Sun 11:30-14:00). There is an obstruction view of the harbour. The service is good. The restaurant name is from the address of the hotel: 999 Canada Place. There is free WiFi from the hotel if you are a hotel guest. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms in the hotel. There is an expensive parking lot. There are high chairs for little children. Review 2023-178

We went here for our work Holiday Lunch and for $75/pp, I can't say it was worth the price even though we didn't pay for it ourselves. There was more salad selection compared to the entrees. The entrees weren't bad, just expected more in terms of selections. I always base how good a buffet is based on their dessert selection and this just didn't quite cut it for me. Food tasted fine but just can't justify the cost. The service was great though, they made sure everything was always topped up and when my friend couldn't have any of the desserts due to dietary restrictions, they brought her one from the kitchen that suited her dietary needs.

We came here for the Sunday brunch buffet because I was going through a buffet phase. I had already tried Sunday brunch buffets at H2 and Notch8 in the past few weeks. I'm glad I tried Oceans 999 because the food and views are both great! The price is the same as Notch8 at $59/person, but I feel like Oceans 999 is a much better deal because of the better quality seafood and selection. The crab legs and shrimp tasted good and fresh. My partner said the lamb at the carving station was excellent. The desserts were good, too. Creme brûlée and chocolate mousse were delicious. The only strange thing was the jello with whipped cream. The whipped cream didn't go well with the jello, and the jello, well, it's just jello. I like that the tables are not so close together so there's privacy, and it's not loud. My partner enjoyed the live piano performance. Service was excellent, and the view was beautiful. Who doesn't enjoy eating brunch with mountains in the background? We will be back!

this is the 2nd time i've been to this restaurant for dineout and surprisingly i had a better experience with my parents this year. we were a bit early for our reso but they were very nice to seat us anyways. the host that led us to our table was very courteous and even pushed my mom's chair in a bit after she sat down - mom thought that was a nice touch. our server came by real quick and asked if we wanted drinks etc. dad had water because he was the DD, while mom and i had the rose that paired with our entree - ofc i cant rmb the name of it lol. for appies, we all had the crispy pork belly. the service of this dish was very fast, which was not the case for the entrees later. the pork belly was crispy and flavourful. i love how the lime juice adds a tartness that cuts the grease. the daikon and carrot salad was nice tho my dad didn't care for it but ate all the meat lol. dad had the ling cod while mom and i had the trout for entree. i think we must have waited for 10min for our entrees. there were 2 large tables during our dinner service, which may have caused delays but just something to note. dad liked his cod dish (he's not a big fish fan) but didn't like the coriander lemongrass pesto, which he tried to scrape most of it off and gave it to me. the remaining on the cod, tho, he said matched the flavour of dish very well. it was also dad's first time trying quinoa - his words "it doesnt rly taste like anything but i guess it's ok." (lol) mom and i had the trout - the skin was done to perfection! crispy and so savoury - i couldn't cut mine so i just stuffed it into my mouth. i especially loved the cranberry miso - it tied all the flavours together and brought the dish to another level. i wolfed mine down but mom savoured hers to the last bite. then came dessert - mom is normally not a big fan of chocolate but she ate the whole chocolate tart. the chocolate hazelnut tart was balanced out by the sourness of the green apple gel/pieces that was on the plate. the dessert came out quite fast after our entrees too - just to note. mom gave the dessert a 5/5...so did dad. my parents thoroughly enjoyed the meal and im glad that they had a good time. the server thought my mom was so cute cuz she was yawning at the start of the dinner b/c she had to wrk today. then at the end of the dinner, mom was like "im drunk so j is the boss" when our server came by with the bill. mom is alr planning the next visit to try out the buffet...

Duck breast cooked nicely, but could not understand the sauce (olive based? Could not say it went well with the meat).

[Dineout 2019 review - sorry it's so late!] The other reviews suggest that this place may be better suited for weekend brunch... My friends and I were a large group for dineout, and this restaurant welcomingly accommodated us, which was great! However, the food did not leave a stellar impression. I had the butternut squash to start, the duck breast for my entree, and cheesecake for dessert. I had mistakenly assumed the butternut squash would be baked and come out soft - I was very wrong; it was very crunchy and felt like it was zapped instead of baked. The duck breast was surprisingly good for a seafood restaurant! Cooked to a perfect colour. However, the sauce did not make a lot of sense to me, and was an olive purée. (I actually think it was the same sauce used in the other entree option, which was cod...) Finally, the cheesecake! This I had no complaints about and enjoyed the rich-but-not-too-sweet finish to our meal. All in all, I liked that my friends and I were able to spend time together and share a meal, but the food sadly did not impress.

Went with my boyfriend on my birthday, which happened to be a Saturday so we had the Italian buffet night with live opera. The server was so friendly. We sat on a table at our choice but later he came over and suggested another table for us for a better view of the opera. My boyfriend and I loved the spinach mushroom ravioli and the roasted beef. All the salads and sides were worthwhile to try too. At the customized pasta bar, I ordered a pasta with creamy pesto sauce and mushroom. It turned out to be a highlight. The price of $60/person was definitely not cheap for uni students like us, but we have decided to treat ourselves with the Saturday Italian buffet once in a while at special occasions

Market Brunch (Sunday's 11:30 am to 2:30 pm) is a great buffet option for the view, live piano music and food selection. It costs $59 a person, but is free for children up to 5 years old. This makes the buffet somewhat family friendly as young children do not eat much. The price is a bit on the expensive side so I think this is more of a special occasions type of brunch or a splurge meal. We were seated near the piano and enjoyed the pianist playing a number of tunes I recognized from classical to modern pop melodies. Our server was great. He checked up on us regularly to clear plates, refill coffee and drop off our drink orders. I paid extra for the mimosas ($9.50/glass). Food selection was good for Vancouver standards. This is nothing close to Vegas' Bacchanal Buffet ($59 USD for weekend brunch) and I can only wish Vancouver will one day have a buffet as grand as a Vegas buffet. There were breads, scones, muffins, cheese, charcuterie board, salads, crab legs, cocktail shrimp, Shanghai noodles, siu mai, shrimp dumplings, veggie spring rolls, lamb, salmon, veggies, mash potato, egg Benedict, sushi, omelette station, salmon Wellington, roast beef, juice and dessert. There were a few more items I did not list. The quality is not the best for some items, but the food was tasty regardless. Salmon Wellington was alright. Pink Peppercorn Seafood House does a better version, but this item is not commonly found at most restaurants so it is a good item to eat. The restaurant should find a new dim sum chef. The shrimp dumpling skin was sticking to each other and falling apart. I did enjoy eating the shrimp filling. The siu mai was better but was missing the fish roe. The roast beef and lamb slices were my favourite during this visit. The crab legs were split and made eating easier. The crab meat was sweet. The cocktail shrimp was a good size, but did not taste memorable. There was a good selection of salads to choose from. The dessert selection was alright. I enjoyed the chocolate mousse and creme brûlée. It was interesting to find jelly beans and gummy candies, but I assume the kids or kids at heart would enjoy those items. There was also jello and cookies. For the price, I think the variety is worth the visit. I would still return to this restaurant on special occasions for brunch. The service was great. Food was replenished regularly in the beginning. After you are finished your meal, I recommend you to step outside for a few moments, enjoy the view and take some pictures.

When I was walked in I was greeted by two lovely host that coat checked my jacket. The server then showed me to my seat before I set off for the Buffet. And boy was the food good! They had the biggest garlic butter prawns I have ever seen along with Turkey, Schnitzel, a sushi bar and the tastiest icecream I have ever had. I could not believe how good this buffet was. The bartender even told me to go after the sushi before they run out and I'm glad about that tip because it was delicious! This was pretty much a 5 star review. I'm only deducting 1 star because someone flooded the bathroom mid show (I was here for Kings of Leon) and had to go all the way to level 3 for the nearest mens washroom which was a shame. But otherwise this lounge was awesome!

The food was as good as most upscale restaurants I have been to. There are so many options you must be selective or you may eat your weight in food. All the servers were attentive and friendly and it seemed they were always right there as soon as I thought about grabbing another drink. Drink prices are comparable with the regular admission but they treat you like people and give you a glass. The selection is a step up as well and cocktails are available. Sat at the bar seats at the top of the section and it was not cramped and we have a table for drinks and snacks. Again the servers were always around during the show. Would recommend this to anyone who has the chance.

The third star is for the service as the servers come through and clear plates quickly and offer hot drinks when they notice you're towards the end of the meal, so they were great. But food... Considering it's $50 for an adult, you'd be better off going to a regular restaurant and ordering what you really want for a better meal. Most of the food was luke warm and the carving station was almost cold unless you catch a fresh one coming out. The sushi was probably the best items here and some of the salad bar. But how do you mess up fried rice? The rice and noodles were almost inedible and my kids couldn't eat the soft serve ice cream! And they'll eat almost anything sweet. Hmm, I didn't expect amazing food being a buffet, but I certainly expected a bit more than that. Nothing stood out as being all that great overall and at these prices... Maybe not!

Only one other person came for about the first half hour, but it slowly got a little busier an hour later when we left, maybe 30% full. As for the vibes, it was pretty quiet. They kept playing Top 40 2010's pop music but it was at a reasonable volume. The person who made the playlist really likes taylor swift and bruno mars as they kept playing their songs. Sometimes the music stopped for a moment before playing again. We sat at a booth windowside where we could see burrard street from an elevated view. As a party of 4, the booth seats weren't very plush or spacious but were still somewhat comfy. Service was a little slow at the beginning. It took a while for the wait staff to give the paper where i can write down the amount of food i want. The wait staff said they would come back to us when we indicated we wanted to order even though only one other customer was in the restaurant at the time. It took awhile for the food the come at the start, maybe 10+ minutes. I'm guessing some of the staff were still setting up the restaurant because they looked busy. But everything was smooth sailing afterward that. Food came pretty quickly after ordering every time. The BBQ flame grill at the middle of the table was not very good because the flame was uneven and only half of the grill was in flames even though the power was a max. But the problem fixed itself eventually somehow and we were really COOKIN'. I think many people will find their sushi decent. They don't put an crazy amount of rice or anything. In terms of taste, The sushi was below average unfortunately, it was not that flavorful or even that fresh tasting. I tried the california roll and the spicy tuna roll. They were just average overall and you could easily find better sushi at Japanese restaurants. I also tried the salmon, spicy tuna, and tuna sashimi. No complaints. They did not have any frozen taste and they were decent is size. Overall, better than average sashimi for sure. I liked the spicy sauce they slather on the spicy tuna sashimi. The gyoza was better than average and not overly greasy. The chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, and yakisoba noodles was also pretty good in terms of taste. WAY better meat pieces compared to other buffets like richmond sushi, which had lots of fat or tendon. They were pretty much all meat which was appreciated. The marinaded BBQ meats for the grill were decent. I didn't get that much flavor of the marinades from any of the meats. The BBQ beef was the best of them all in terms of taste, but there were some pieces that had a lot of fat on them so they were chewy. I LOVED the tonkatsu. Our table kept ordering it. I got a whole extra plate to myself. The sauce they put on it and the crispiness of the tonkatsu was great. The agadashi tofu was a good dish for a different texture and refreshing after eating lots of greasy meats. Our table ordered multiples of it. The Goma-ae was decent. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce as it wasn't as tasty as it looked. Also the portion was smaller than expected. But i ordered more anyway basically to help cut the grease a little from all the marinated BBQ meats. The yam tempura was decent. Nothing special about it as it's just battered yam that's not overly thick. The Chicken Karaage was our table's favorite dish. They were extra crispy, easy to eat, and tasty. We ordered a lot of it and it was eaten up pretty quickly. The wait staff were very quick in taking away our used dishes and they replaced our grill plate when it looked really charred. On the other hand, sometimes they forgot to give a new order paper when they took our order so we had to ask them for another one. Sometimes when we ordered multiple dishes of something, we would receive less than expected. For example, when my table ordered 3 dishes we only got 1 dish. That was a little annoying. Public washrooms were cramped but clean. The urinals were literally one step away from the sink, and the one toilet stall was 2 steps away. 3 people max can stand inside. For $30 per person on the weekend lunch for both sushi and BBQ, Shabusen is not bad at all. The price is decent for AYCE spot that includes BBQ and sushi. And you're paying a bit of a premium price due it being a weekend which is a pretty common thing at buffets nowadays. Overall I give Shabusen 3.5 out of 5 yelp stars based on this visit rounded up to 4 stars since yelp doesn't do half stars. Some of the food quality improved a bit compared to my last year's review, and the food that we ordered, for the most part, came at a pretty good pace. I feel like we didn't have to wait for long.

A cash prize was offered as well. My friend was lucky enough to win a 2 for 1 coupon for Grand Villa's buffet and invited me over to try it out. Lucky me. I haven't visited Grand Villa Casino's Buffet in about 5 years so I was interested to see if anything changed since then. When we approached the entrance, there was no line up and there were plenty of seats available in the buffet. This was around 4pm on a Sunday. I took a glance at the food available for the day and it looked decent but nothing stood out, unfortunately. Here's a rundown of everything they offered that day. For soups they got vegetarian chili and chicken gumbo. The chicken gumbo was not good and my friend couldn't finish it. Just avoid the soups. For salads, they got romaine, kale, macaroni, coleslaw, and potato. I tried a bit of the kale and the macaroni salads and it was surprisingly tasty. For mains they got corn on the cob, corn bread, waffles, fried chicken, baked beans, mac and cheese, beef brisket, bbq ribs, and fried basa fish. The corn bread was pretty bland. It needs more flavor. The fried chicken is like the chicken you would buy at a superstore or walmart. Very average. It was drier than I preferred. The breaded skin was kinda tasteless. Worse than KFC. The mac and cheese was actually good. Very cheesy, tasty, and looked pretty yummy. The BBQ ribs were alright. It had very little meat on it. The sauce was tastier than I expected. The basa fried fish is nothing to write home about. Very average. It didn't have much flavor and tasted like the fish you would buy in the supermarket frozen dinner food section and pop it in the oven. The beef brisket was too tough, dry, and lacked flavor. Needs more seasoning. I think it was a tad overcooked. At the carving station, they had roast beef. It's not bad at all! The beef did not have any fat and it was tender and not dry. You can try it with dijon mustard or demi-glace sauce. I liked it with the dijon mustard. For pop, they got a coca cola freestyle machine with literally dozens of options of different types of pop. Coke, Barqs, Sprite, Fanta, and more. I have no complaints about the drinks. For dessert, they got mini donuts, double chocolate cake with chocolate icing and flakes on top, Red Velvet cake, chocolate brownies, and a fruit platter. They also have ice cream with a small selection of toppings. The mini donuts were sweet and tasty. They appear to be freshly baked. I liked the chocolate brownies a lot. It wasn't overly sweet but it was tasty. The chocolate cake was decent. It was a tad too sweet and tasted like an average chocolate cake overall. The red velvet cake was very average tasting as well. My friend didn't like the chocolate ice cream at all and could not finish it after taking a bite. There might have been a few more desserts and drinks available that I missed but I didn't take a good look. Besides the average quality food, the service by the wait staff and the dining area was actually better than other restaurants. The wait staff took away our plates very quickly after we were done with them. They were friendly and fast when we entered the restaurant and during our visit. I have no complaints about the service. The dining area was spacious and clean. The chairs had thick pillow cushions on them so it was better than an average dining chair. They had large windows that let the sunlight in. The decor was minimal but nicer than an average family restaurant. Overall, at the regular price of $33.99 per person, I would hesitate to recommend Grand Villa's Casino Buffet to anybody for the quality of the food that's offered. It really needs improvement. The chefs need to replace what it has now with better than average tasting food to ask for that price. I wouldn't think of going again unless i scored a 2 for 1 coupon because there are plenty of restaurants where your $34 can be better spent. 2.5 out of 5 stars rounded up to 3 stars since yelp doesn't do half stars.

The night we went, there was a young Asian dude at the carving station. He was G R U M P Y. I wish I could say that I am just trying to be funny, but unfortunately I'm not. I continued to watch him from my seat and he was just NOT in a good mood at all. He did similar if not the same to other people. He would trade places every 30 minutes or so with another guy. There was HUGE and noticeable difference between servers. The other guy was very proud of his work station and cleaned up around the area while waiting for the next customer. I'll pass on this place for future events.

Came here with my family to celebrate my daughters birthday. This is a great place for special…read moreevents. The setting is gorgeous, right next to the water, and the service and wine list befits a Michelin restaurant. They aren't able to sit bigger parties next to a window though. The sushi is spectacular. They specialize in Aburi and that does not disappoint. We had four: - Miku roll, with torched fish eggs, the texture and flavour are incredible. - surf and turf, this has beef tataki and da really different but good flavour - salmon and saba Oshi Aburi. My kids favourite. The flavour - it just melts in your mouth and it is sooo good. The flavour is what really stands out. It's not a huge portion. All the appetizers are excellent. In particular our group loved the tofu salad. My daughter says it's the best salad she ever had. Ebi fritters were outstanding too. Crunchy and delish but somehow light at the same time. The brussel sprouts were a bit spicy. Spinach Gomae has an amazing flavour. The desserts are great too. The banana mousse in particular was sublime. You can't go wrong here for your next occasion.
