We went there for brunch, and the atmosphere and service were excellent. Among our orders was the salmon avocado toast, which I remembered as impressive. I found it delicious with a unique flavour compared to other avocado toast I tried. The spaghetti truffle mushroom was also creamy, tasty, and plentiful; I find the fried chicken and waffles small in portion and less hollandaise sauce. Lastly, we were happy with their dessert platter, which included maccaron, ice cream, chocolates, and tiramisu--a great price for the amount of sweets on it. Just something to consider would be it's on the pricy side, and I find the building parking so confusing as everything was reserved, and it took a while to find parking.

The dish arrived with visual appeal, the pork belly, while crisp on the outside, lacked succulence and depth of flavor. It was perfectly drinkable, but unremarkable. 6/10 - Passable, but forgettable. Ambiance Set within a modern hotel, Bruno Restaurant boasts an airy and contemporary design. The natural light, soft tones, and minimalist décor create a bright and inviting atmosphere -- ideal for a leisurely breakfast or casual meeting. Despite its elegance, the energy feels subdued, which may appeal to hotel guests seeking calm but might feel impersonal to local diners. 8/10 - Beautiful, polished space with a serene ambiance. Service Service, unfortunately, was the low point of the experience. Upon entering, no staff were present to greet guests. After a ten-minute wait, I had to ask the hotel concierge to summon a server. When the waitress finally arrived, she offered no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. While she did return later to check on the table, the initial impression of neglect lingered. In a restaurant with such an elegant setting, the absence of warm, attentive service creates a stark contrast. 2/10 - Professional polish needed to match the ambiance. Price The pricing is fair for a hotel restaurant, aligning with the level of presentation and environment. However, given the inconsistent food and lackluster service, the value proposition remains debatable. Since the pandemic, we only do department holiday parties at work. This year we went to Bruno. I am so glad we waited till this year to go because the menu is definitely more comprehensive than last year. There are so many dishes that I want to try on the menu but I can order so many since it's company paid Their lunch board hit almost all the dishes I wanted order. We ordered 3 lunch boards to share among the 6 of us. For $125, the lunch board comes with: - Kale Grain Salad - Kurobuta pork belly - Prime Sirloin Steak - Honey Lavender Duck - Truffle Potatoes - Lemon Grilled Broccolini - Bruno Lavender Honey Gelato It is the best deal since the steak alone is $68. The kale salad was refreshing and the pomegranate adds a nice sweet refreshing crunch. The pork belly was so tender and pairs perfectly well with the sauce. Between the steak and the duck, I like the duck more which is suprising because I am normally not a duck person. The duck breast was cooked to medium doneness. It wasn't dry or gamy at all. We all really liked the truffle potatoes. I still want to try their Brussels sprout, karaage and wagyu pasta. The staff were attentive. My hot water was refilled quite often :) Love the Christmas decorations. The only down part is the confusing parking lot. It is somewhat hard to find and confusing to get out.
Came here to attend an engagement dinner. I love the venue, it's very intimate for 80+ guests invited. It's neither too big nor too small and although there are small sections, it got everyone together. Food choices on menu were quite appealing and extensive. Dishes were presented as sharing dishes with platters good for 5-6 people.

Prices are on the higher end, though the food was tasty, fresh and quick to arrive. Drip coffee is refilled gratis and quickly which was nice.
Love the service, food and the ambiance of this restaurant. It's intimate and spacious so you have privacy but yet cozy and lovely atmosphere. We celebrated a wedding anniversary here for the second time and the food was amazing!! Will be back for sure.
Took the opportunity to try this place for the first time during Dineout. Their menu was very generous - 3 appetizers, 2 entree, and 1 dessert for each person! The service was attentive throughout the night, never felt that we were rushed out during our 3 hour dinner. Tim, the restaurant manager, was amazing, checking in on us throughout the night making sure we had a great experience. The food was awesome and well worth the price. The ambiance is stylish and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and come again!
Service was great and food is delicious. It was a bit loud as there was a large party with someone who had a touch too much to drink. I appreciate our server checking in and trying to help us time the next dish. Oysters were fresh (the chili oil is a must!). The fried pork belly was a bit heavy and awkward to eat - it seemed like something was missing. It just needed something else so we were eating bites of fried pork belly. Pasta was on the salty side but was cooked well. Portion was generous. I lovvveee Brussel sprouts. These were crispy but flavour was pleasant - not too salty, had a nice crunch from the nuts, but a bit oily.
Sept 2023 update: great experience with their late night chef's tasting menu. It's $45 per person, Mon-Wed after 8:30pm. Very affordable and great value for the amount of food you get. Comes with a burrata salad, honey garlic fried chicken (loved the smoke presentation), pasta, short rib (so tender), prawns, potatoes, and broccolini. For dessert - tiramisu, macarons and assorted chocolates. Everything was plated beautifully and service was attentive. We also got cocktails which were extremely tasty.
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bruno to celebrate a gf's birthday. What a stunning restaurant! Our meal included: Honey Lavender Duck, Scroll Loaf, West Coast Oysters, Bruno Signature Pasta Platter, and Spicy Pomodoro Tagliatelle with Meatballs. My ultimate favourites were the Scroll Loaf and the Saffron Shellfish Tagliatelle of the pasta platter. Bruno went above and beyond with the presentation of the birthday cake. It was completely unexpected and definitely a nice touch! A lovely evening overall.
A bare pass 2.5 star. I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. When we arrived, we were greeted and led to our seat promptly. We sat at the bar/lounge area which was less pretty, but that's okay. Server brought the menu over, and I noticed the cocktail menu had oil stain and was clearly stepped on with a shoe mark. We ordered a burrata salad and crab coquette to share, then an ikura king crab risotto and a waygu flank steak as entree. Both appetizers were only average, it's like me doing fancier dining at home. The ikura crab risotto was pretty good, flavorful and risotto has the Al dente bite. My husband's waygu flank steak plating was a mess, waygu flank steak tasted good but over cooked. He asked for medium and came out medium well. Thank goodness it wasn't chewy, the chimchurri gave a good flavor to the steak. The bottle of red we ordered are alright, and reasonably priced. We took a look at the dessert menu, and the menu is also wrinkly and stained. We decided to skip dessert, and go somewhere for the sweets instead. When my husband made the reservation, he stated it was our 20th anniversary, but the restaurant didn't bother to have server to congratulate us, or ask if we were celebrating any occasion, or offer to have dessert on them, etc. Their pretty flower wall that everyone has been posting on social media may be the best part of this restaurant. The bill came to be about $160, which is not bad at all, but in terms of the overall experiences, there're so many other restaurants to choose from, that I'll never return to Bruno again.
It was referred by a friend and I decided to host the Christmas dinner at Bruno. This is what we ordered and how we felt: 1) truffle potatoes and there were no truffle taste 3/5 2) Brussel sprouts 4/5 3) shrimp 3/5 4) friend chicken- presentation 5/5 but taste 3.5/5. Make sure you have to ask the server for the smoke presentation. I felt Pelicana devil spice chicken tasted better and cheaper price! 5) pasta sampler 3/5- noodles were undercooked by 40sec 6) duck was highlight of the night- so delicious 6/5 7) steak - 2/5, I was disappointed on the steak, because the thickness of the steak was around 1.5 cm and the server gave us a butter knife for steaks instead of steak knife. 8) pork cheek - 3/5 The interior design is amazing. The vibe is very modern and you should take your date here for a drink but the food is mediocre.
What an absolute FEAST at Bruno! Incredible food, great service and a fantastic evening with friends. Started out with their Oysters and Ikura. Super delicious and loved the creaminess that paired really with the oysters. I usually don't get too excited about a salad... this one is exciting though and it was just popping with flavour. The richness of the burrata and the tartness of the blackberries went really well together. Their kurobuta pork belly was super rich and decadent with all that fatty goodness! Next up is their entrees and started off with their Arctic char with saffron cream mussels, clam and scallops. Then the real main entree came with truffle lavender duck with foie gras and confit duck croquettes. Wow! Maybe we'll just have their grilled wagyu flank steak on the side. There was so much food and so worth it! We just had enough room for desert which included their rustic tiramisu and cherry pavlova. Looked like a mini snowman with a cherry on top. What an incredible meal and definitely one of my favourites!
Had dinner and breakfast here during my stay at Versante Hotel. Bruno is located at the main lobby of Versante. Really cool fun decor yet modern. Huge place and good for large group parties. Dinner menu was fantastic. They ran out of lamb but their pork tomahawk was delicious. Best of all, Bruno's Tiramisu was the standout. Absolutely so good. A must try. For breakfast, I had their smoke salmon omelette which was fantastic. Service was excellent. Highly recommend. Cheers! read more

Came here for a friend's birthday. We had the Bruno Tasting Experience. Not bad for $89. Really enjoyed every dish. The staff were friendly and the restaurant quite spacious. I've been here a few times and each time I've enjoyed my meals. read more

Honestly I didn't have high expectations for this restaurant because I was thinking fine dining in Richmond? Really? But the food and service were both top notch. Scroll bread came warm and toasty but I didn't care for the sweet pate butter. The crab cake was delicious and bigger than I imagined. The sea bream was well cooked and such a large portion!!! I'm a big eater but after these 3 dishes we were both stuffed! The server was super friendly who was attentive and shared his personal stories. My water was never empty, which I appreciated because I get real thirsty during pregnancy. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant. The only constructive feedback is that they made it sound like they were all booked up hence we took the 5pm seating but even when we left at 7:30pm the restaurant was more than half empty. Also the seating could have been better especially when the restaurant is pretty empty. We had patrons on the left and right of us while other parts of the restaurant was empty. read more
Went for a friends birthday as we heard some good things and I have to say for a higher end restaurant in Richmond, it didn't dissappoint. As it was during their dine out menu, we decided to try it and we were able to share everything. The presentation and flavors of their dishes are directly influenced by the local farmers and artisans that supply their ingredients. Located at the Versante Hotel near the airport, it's a great place for date night, get togethers or if you are here for a layover and want to try out something new nearby. Just remember that if you plan on driving the parking is around the back so don't miss the entrance as it's a one way street. There's a lot of new places so you have to be innovative and stand out which I think Bruno does nicely. A downtown ambiance and quality but in Richmond. And as it's in my backyard, I will be sure to come back again. Overall I would recommend! read more
Went here last month for my mom's birthday and had a great time! Service was exceptional. The food was high quality, but I thought portions were a bit on the small side given their price point. Here's what my family ordered: 1. Burrata salad - super refreshing with all the fruit! Toasted walnuts added nice contrast. But the star, of course, was the burrata. So soft and creamy! 2. Dungeness crab croquettes - crispy on the outside and stuffed with crab on the inside! And the iberico ham on top was *chef's kiss* Didn't care for the other toppings, but that's just personal preference. 3. Saffron cream mussels - warm, comforting, and packed with umami. Pro tip: dip a bit of the bread in the broth first, then add a mussel on top: the perfect bite! 4. Truffle wild mushroom gnocchi - addictive! And I want bottarga on all my gnocchi dishes now, hehe. read more
Finally we had the chance to try Bruno during the Dine Out Vancouver celebration. Parking can be a bit tricky to navigate. No clear signs, and its not free and restaurant doesnt offer validation either. Its very cheap tho, compared to dt vancouver. Anyhow, their covid protocols are excellent and we were greeted and seated without further delay. Ambiance of the place is nice. The hotel and restaurant decor is obviously of asian influence. Gives you the impression of opulence and class. What sets this place apart is their dine out menu is actually a tasting menu! You get all the items on the menu. Each dish was explained nicely and they did provide enough food for sure. Appys: oysters ( flame torched and sort of ceviche style...very very good! The flavours a bit sophisticated but the freshness of the oysters shown through. Burrata salad: in the middle Of the salad was a while burrata cheese with good olive oil. Cheese very fresh and complimented the salad well. Wish there were crostinis but its ok. It was so visually appealing and tasted very good well. Kurobata pork belly: made perfectly but a bit too sweet. The balsamic and lime flavours were overshadowed by the sugar. Pork was juicy and succulent but not smoky. Presentation was top notch. Everything edible. Mains: Wagyu steak - seared perfectly. Tender and moist. Handled really well. The quality of the beef can be discerned and appreciated. Accompanying potatoes were cooked excellenty. Crispy skin, soft and tender on the inside. Artic char - another masterpiece. All the seafood of clams, mussels, shrimps, fish and scallop, all simmering in a delectable bouillabaisse broth. So flavourful and rich. Truffle lavender duck: it was good but did not live up to expectations. Duck was a bit cold when it reached our table. Next, the skin was not charred and crispy. The meat was a bit gamey and not tender enough. No smoky texture and taste either. And most of all, no where can I smell, see, or taste truffles. My guess it was cooked souvide and the kitchen staff may have forgotten to torch it long enough. It was still good but nowhere near a french interpretation. Desserts: Tiramisu - arguable the worst dish of the night. Clearly this has been sitting so long that the layers of tiramisu has disintegrated and turned Into pudding. When your spoon hits the Center, its all So soft and mushy. Espresso flavours also weak and almost non existent. Told the server abt it, and he just said he will remind the kitchen to improve It. Lol. Pavlova - another perfect creation. Well baked and executed. Can rival the pavlovas being sold dt. Crispy on the outside, but fluffy, soft and nice marshmallowy texture on the inside, the way it should be. Overall, I'd repeat and try the other items. They are good enough to be visited again. Washrooms are one of a kind for sure! The center wash basins and the layout are very unique, all with an asian touch. Cheers! Happy eating! read more

Truffle Potatoes - It was crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. Super flavourful with the truffles and it's quite a heavy dish so it made us quite full already. Dungeness Crab Croquette - Very crispy, fried to perfection with exploding flavours of the different herbs and yet you can still taste the delicious crab meat. It paired well with their tomato sauce. Saffron Cream Mussels - This was the best mussels we had. The sauce was very rich and creamy. The best way to eat this is to dunk the bread in the sauce and then add a piece of mussel on top and take a bite . Also it's not only mussels, there's also clams and scallops too! Kurobuta Pork Belly - very very tender meat with a sweet and savoury kick to it. Truffle Lavender Duck - Duck made two-ways. This was also a really good dish! The duck was super tender and delicious paired with foie gras and hazelnut crumble to add a nice flavour. There's also the confit duck croquette which was fried. It was very crispy and flavourful with many herbs. The amount of foie gras was very generous. read more
This new restaurant is part of the new Versante Hotel in Richmond. It was an amazing experience and it's so refreshing to see a nice high end restaurant open up in Richmond. The menu gave us so many tough choices but the ones we made were all amazing. The service was excellent and very attentive. The 5 stars in this review are ONLY and ALL for the fantastic food and kitchen service during Dine Out Vancouver. Had the amazing opportunity to try Bruno's dine out and I have to say it did not disappoint at all. For $59 a person, I was blown away by the spectacular portions by a fine dining restaurant. This is by far the most comprehensive and complete dine out menu I've ever seen. Kurobata pork belly - I love sweet/sour flavour profiles so the black garlic balsamic glaze was delicious and the lime aioli paired well as a neutralizing addition to the otherwise very powerfully flavoured pork belly. Burrata salad - There was a lot going on in this salad. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, cheese - this salad has it all. It was slightly overwhelming to taste but overall, I love variety. My boyfriend found the salad flavour profile rather strange so there may be dividing opinions depending how much you like variety and salad. Kusshi oysters - I think there could have been a little less sauce on the oysters but the sauces were indeed delicious. The orange one was a little spicy - great kick. I can acknowledge not everyone likes wild sauces on their oysters though. Arctic char + saffron cream mussels - Char was firm with pleasing texture and no overwhelming "sea" taste. I'm not a big cooked fish person at all but this hit the spot. Also not a mussels person but somehow it also hit the spot? Wow. The saffron cream broth was delicious and although it's not a soup, you bet I drank the whole thing. Wagyu flank steak x truffle lavender duck - That medium rare steak cooked to absolute perfection...delicious. The bf is the pickiest steak eater and is very critical of flavour and doneness of his steak. Of all places, he was quite impressed with the way the steak turned out - Juicy, tender and 100% well seasoned combined with a pile of amazingly done smashed truffle potatoes and spicy brussels sprouts. I personally found it a bit salty for my taste but honestly prefer that over under seasoned food. The duck was soooo tender and well cooked - the flambé apricots as garnish is genius. (for all my HK bbq duck w/ plum sauce friends - we know a good duck with some sweet and sour is *chefs kiss*) The hazelnut crumb was a bit strange but honestly it made sense with the plating and presentation of everything, absolutely gorgeous. When a restaurant finishes strong and even nails the dessert - that's when I fall in love!! The tiramisu was soft, moist, and soggy...which is literally the best kind of tiramisu in my opinion. The cherry pavlova featured a pistachio mousse, and was perfectly not too sweet which sent my taste buds to heaven. Lastly, with such an amazing food experience...I was left slightly confused at the service. I wouldn't be nit picky normally but seeing that Bruno is pursuing that "fine dining" experiencé a lot of these things should be the bare minimum. - Server dropped first dish off without saying a word about it to us? It would be nice to quickly describe the dish as the following courses came out described to us by a food runners. - Mise en place, table clearing and check ins were really inconsistent. We were continually served our next course while we still had dirty dishes with oyster shells on our plates. We also kept missing cutlery we needed for certain courses. The server also bounced around tables regularly but he barely checked up on us unless we flagged him down. I would like to give Bruno another try especially on a special occasion when I'm looking for a treat. Come with five other friends tonight for Dine Out Vancouver Festival and was blown away with the experience, food and service. We got to sample everything on the festival menu for $59/person. It was a great deal compared to their regular menu and many of the items on the Dine Out menu are also on their regular menu. The portion size is very good and, at the end, all of us were full. If you can snag a table in the last few days of the festival, it will be worth it. Some of my favourites tonight: Winter Burrata Salad, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Truffle Lavender Duck, Arctic Char and Rustic Tiramisu. Would be very interested in coming back to try their regular menu. Loved the modern clean, cool and colourful vibe. Opened this past August and showcasing elevated local BC food. Served family-style to encourage conversation and reconnection as per their website. Bruno is located in the new boutique Versante Hotel by the industrial area of north Richmond. If taking Canada Line, Bridgeport is the closest station. Pay parking at the hotel or street parking a few blocks away. Careful not to drive past the hotel west bound on Bridgeport Road or you'll be heading towards the airport and a big detour to get back. read more

There were 4 of us enjoying 2022 Dine Out Vancouver menu. 1st course with oysters & ikura, winter burrata salad and kurobuta pork belly. 2nd course with truffle lavender duck, grilled wagyu flank steak and arctic char. 3rd course with rustic tiramisu and cherry pavlova. It's one of the few high end restaurants that newly established in Richmond. Despite the location was a bit confusing to get in, the food there is pretty amazing. We wanted to try a bit of everything and ordered the Bruno board experience. It included all the popular dish on the menu, lots of varieties. The pork belly comes with blackened garlic balsamic glazed peppercorn, it was tender and juicy, fully melts in the mouth, a must try! I also enjoyed saffron cream mussels and clam, it was cooked to the right temperature, and sauce was very refreshing. Our meat platter came with truffled lavender duck, bone in rib eye, grilled wagyu flank steak, crispy Brussels sprouts, and baked potatoes. The portion was big for two people, but very delicious. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, he gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal and the evening. My only comment would be the parking, it's not very clear with where and how to park, and how to go to the restaurant. We've also had three or four servers checking on us in the course of 5 mins, seems a little too much. But given it's a brand new restaurant, they might be just trying to give everyone a good experience. I would definitely go back and try something else. read more

Is it a yes or a BruNO? First heard about this place from my customer and was recommended, didn't have a chance to give it a try until recently. This place is located inside the Versante hotel, keep that in mind so you wouldn't get lost trying to find it. I had to struggle a bit to find parking at the parkade, it's pay parking?!? I tried calling multiple times to make a reservation but no one answers therefore, I just walked in. It was 1/2 full, maybe because it's quite a compact little buffet place. The seatings were quite close together, more on the casual than classy side. This was what I ordered and tried, Brunch buffet $69/ person; 1. 1 free drink per person (pop or juice). I can't remember if any buffet I had ever been to only allow a customer 1 free drink only lol. 2. Chowder soup. Surprisingly it was hot, quite rich and tasty! 3. Bacon, sausages, ahi tuna cubes, marinated prawns, pasta salad. The bacon and sausages were pretty basic. Marinated prawns had a light bitter tangy taste, the ahi tuna was okay, and the pasta was undercooked in the pasta salad. 4. The smoked salmon was smoked salmon lol. The sushi was okay except for the salmon rolls, the salmon wasn't too fresh (sorry had to kind of spit that out). The fresh fruits (strawberries, cantaloupe, pineapple) were okay but wish they were sweet. 5. The cooked pasta was pretty generic. 6. The shepherds pie was awful (please don't used dry stringy pull pork) with a weird taste to it. 7. Roasted prime rib, it was juicy and tender. Probably this and the soup were the only food that was decent. 8. The desserts were okay, pretty basic like most buffets. Overall, the atmosphere was quite casual and the layout was quite compact, therefore, the noise level was above average level. The service was decently good, maybe the hostess just needed to cheer up a bit. Finished dishes were cleared up pretty promptly so that was good. As for the food, I think it was quite limited in variety especially for $69/person. Plus it was lacking in quality. For similar price, I would say Ocean 999 at the Pan Pacific for $65/person would be a better deal; more variety, better quality, more spacious with a higher end atmosphere and service. Unfortunately, this experience was a BruNO NO for me. P.S. $29 for kid 12 years and under? What happens if someone brings along their 1 year old? read more

4.5 stars. For those looking for a nice date place in Richmond, Bruno restaurant was lovely in terms of portion and ambience for our anniversary. Service was prompt and they even gave us free dessert when we posted about them on instagram! This included delicious macarons and tirimisu. I thought the prices were reasonable - $40 for my scallop risotto and $50 for my partners' over 12 ounce prime rib (Sunday special). The fried honey chicken appetizer was ok, but Brittania Brewing in Steveston wins for that. My partner is usually super loyal only to Keg's prime rib but felt this one was comparable and the sauce better than Keg. My risotto was delicious with bacon and huge scallops- I even had to take some to go and you know I eat like two men. They are located in Versante hotel near night market, parking is $2 per hour. 4.5 stars overall - This is the 3rd time going to Bruno - the previous 2 visits were excellent but had to take down 1/2 star for the dine out Vancouver experience. The fist time I went to Bruno (Nov 2021), we tried the tasting menu ($89/pp) and the portions were ridiculously huge. We had almost 2 lbs of leftover food to take home. We were really impressed with the presentation and the taste of the food. Second time we went (Nov 2022), we ordered a la carte instead. Presentation and food is still exceptional but the portions have definitely dialled down to "normal" size. Very satisfying but no leftovers. The scroll loaf was the highlight, hot from the oven, eats like a croissant and savoury and sweet at the same time. Reviewing my dine out Vancouver 2023 experience, for $65/pp you get all their greatest hits on their regular menu. The dishes were served family style. I have to say I was a little disappointed - the food seem to have prepared ahead of time (probably because everyone was doing dine out) so the food seemed lukewarm. The scroll loaf, which is my absolute favourite, felt like it was baked earlier in the day and was kept warm or reheated. The striploin on the menu turned out to be slices of roast beef, not that it wasn't tasty, I was just expecting actual steak. The brussel sprouts were the best, it was piping hot and tasted consistent from the last time we visited. Unfortunately while the DOV menu looked great on paper, we thought we would be completely full and then some. We were not, in fact we had to order another appetizer from the menu because we were still hungry. Service is nice and friendly, we sat in the Lounge, definitely a better choice than the dining room. Second time here and I absolutely love the food here every time. The service was amazing too, we had the funniest and kindest waiter. The ambience obviously is perfect for special occasions and date nights. Their dine out menu was $65 and absolutely worth every dollar. It was the only dine out menu we decided to do and no regrets. Their $59 pp brunch menu is only offered on Sat/Sun between 11am-2:30pm, and their food will FILL YOU UP! Lets review: Chilled shellfish, 8/10: soo loaded & fresh! Very delicate and the fishy taste was pretty subtle. Tuna & crab poke 7/10: tuna could be more marinated but the bruno chips were really good and crunchy! Burrata salad 8/10: The burrata was soo buttery & it went well w/ the sweet tomatoes! Only wish there were some greens in this. Oysters 8/10: I liked how they weren't too briny and they were sweet! Loved adding mine with lemon. Salmon lobster benny 7.5/10: the taste was spot on, but the egg could have been slightly more runny! I really liked the crunchy bacon and the sausage was too salty for me. Liege waffle 9/10: fav! Crispy edges, soft centre, and not too sweet. The berries were a great add on! Crispy brussel sprouts 8.5/10: Another fav! Seasoned perfectly with a good nuttiness plus it was very crunchy. Truffle potatoes 8/10: The garlic truffle butter stood out nicely and the potatoes were nicely firm! This menu is WORTH IT if you want to try everything! Please come on an empty stomach though, but either way you will end up in a food coma..Note: they are served for sharing between your party, not individual servings. The manager & our server Sharon were really accommodating towards our big table, and their humorous personality truly shined cause we all shared some good laughs! I have always enjoyed the vibes and service here which makes me want to come back for more. I first read about this restaurant from the Vancouver Sun review and decided to try this place out for my friend's birthday. We got the $89 pp tasting menu. Rating: 1 - Poor, 2 - OK, 3 - Good, 4 - Very Good, 5 - Excellent 1. Raw Oysters (3/5) - I am not a big fan of raw oysters but we had them torched and it was good. It is similar to oyster motoyaki. Oyster was fresh. 2. Burrata Salad (4/5) - the Burrata salad was very nice. It is in a balsamic vinaigrette. The Burrata was creamy and did pair well with the blueberries and blackberries. 3. Pork Belly (4.5/5) - the pork belly was very tender and was braised in a very nice sauce. The pork belly came out of a smoked fish bowl. 4. Truffle Mushroom Gnocchi - (4/5) - pillowy soft and you can taste the truffle oil. I wished it had more mushrooms. 5. Sirloin Steak and lavender truffle duck - (5/5) - the pairing of everything (four gras mousse, Cherry compote and Brussels sprouts) tasted very good and the portions were generous. I steak was in a chimichurri sauces and cooked to medium rare. The duck was good and tender but didn't taste the lavender. 6. Tiramisu with macaroons (3/4) - the dessert was good and pretty standard. However, the macaroons were a bit dense. Overall (4.3/5 stars), the food was very good and we were super stuffed after. Service was excellent and the ambiance was very good. No loud music. This restaurant is pretty busy for mid-week. I would recommend Bruno and will definitely come back. read more

My wife and I went to this highly-hyped restaurant for our 20-year-anniversary celebration dinner. I made a reservation several weeks ago expecting nothing but excellent. I also informed the restaurant that tonight is our special night. Well, it's a low blow. Wine and food menus were stained and wrinkled. No staff congratulated us about our life milestone. All foods have the right flavours but my entree (flank steak) was like a cow shuffled in the weeds. Moreover, it looked more well done than medium. The dessert menu was stained with grease. We didn't order desserts and called for the bill. Well, let's just say that we closed the tap and no staff said anything. If they say they are a fine-dine restaurant, they better do their homework in Vancouver and evaluate how they can live up that standard. I will not go back again. read more

We celebrated Galentines and had girls night here at Bruno. The food, presentation, portion size, drinks, service and overall price was well worth it. We ordered two appies ("Small Plates"); 1. Dungeness Crab Croquette: Very tasty 2. Truffle Potatoes: Flavour was really good, the potatoes were well seasoned. However, when I think of "smash potatoes" I would have expected the potatoes to be on the crisper side. We also ordered three mains ("Large Plates"); 1. Grilled Wagyu Flank Steak: Cooked perfectly at medium rare. One of our GF's prefers her steak well done and they were able to accommodate half of the steak to be cooked well done, and half cooked medium rare. 2. Uni Ikura King Crab Risotto: This was very tasty, although would have liked to see a bit more crab chunks. 3. Saffron Cream Mussels: I think this was my fave dish of the night! The broth was delicious. I would love to come back and try their other menu items. We had a really good time here. We felt so full and satisfied in the end. This restaurant is located in Versante hotel with modern, spacious, yet cozy date-night vibes. All dishes were super innovative, well executed and nicely presented. Staff were attentive and friendly as well. We got a bunch of appetizers and mains, and my favorites include the scroll loaf, uni risotto, and truffle lavender duck. The scroll loaf was had the perfect croissant-like texture and paired so well with the foie gras butter. The foie gras butter was unlike anything I've seen, with a creme-brulee style top that gave it a crunchy and sweet flavor. The uni risotto was incredibly creamy and flavorful, elevated by bits of king crab swirled in and ikura on top. It's definitely on the heavier side so I recommend sharing. The duck dish had many things going on, all of which perfectly complemented each other. The duck itself was very juicy and tender, with a crispy crust that has hints of truffle. There were also a variety of sauces/topping such as foie gras, dried apricots, and hazelnut crumbs which gave the duck even more flavors and textures. I do wish the truffle and lavender flavor stood out more though. Also, huge shoutout to the staff for giving me a free huge bowl of tiramisu since I was celebrating my birthday!!! Went for their buffet brunch with a friend visiting Vancouver. I was initially skeptical about the idea of buffet brunch Cus I had their brunch set for two before and it was really good. I booked at 11 and when I arrived everything was nicely prepared and presented. I would say it's not a a huge buffet but everything was delicious. It was a nice cozy and elegant environment. Best part is the that it got busier around noon but it wasn't crowded. Everyone was respectful and no one was grabbing everything and wasting food. Service was quite tentative too. I would recommend and go back again. read more
