Value for money its alright, its a lower priced option (from a $ value) for the classic steakhouse and pub fare. We had the quesadilla, bruschetta, and steak + mac and cheese. They were all cooked competently, but I would have liked to see a bigger portion for each. There were 2 onion rings and a couple of veggies only. That being said, the mac and cheese was a good amount so I will give them credit on that. Being a weekend it was quiet, and thank you for not blasting the music. Not sure if that is the case at night or when its Friday read more

First time being back at this chain after the rebrand. Looks like they've gone upscale. Parking is available in the nice large strip mall lot. The feel is casual family style dining at a reasonable price with a sports bar type area if one desires. Similar to White Spot. Lots of dark wood panelling. Special mention to the electrical sockets they've installed. Not only do most (possibly all) tables have a socket, but every socket has 2 USB plugs as well. See photo. Staff were friendly and professional. No complaints. I tried their bacon mushroom Mikeburger. This (the Mikeburger) was their flagship product before the rebranding, and I still have plenty of memories eating them back then. The biggest difference between the old and new versions is they've changed the shape of the bun. It's now a half sub(?) instead of a traditional hamburger bun. But otherwise, it tastes pretty much exactly the way I remember it. The fixings were plentiful and fresh. Special mention for the garlic parmesan fries. Be sure to get this option. Happy hour here is 1400-1700 and 2100 to closing daily (2000 to closing on Thursdays). Great for some cheaper beer and cocktails. My friends and I tried several appies. All were tasty. Chicken strips - 5 pieces. Decent size. Comes with dipping sauce. Lobster dunk - tortilla chips with a lobster cheese dip. Quite tasty. Crispy panko shrimp - 24 breaded and battered prawns. Comes with tangy cocktail sauce and lemon slice. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised with the feel of their new theme. The ambience is nice and the food is delicious. My friends and I all decided we will be back at some point. Recommended. read more

This is the first time having Mr. Mike. I was not sure what to expect. I have passed by Mr. Mike many times when I was in Terrace or in Chilliwack and I always wonder about their food. My friend from Prince Rupert would drive to Mr. Mike for celebration and I asked her that time about the food. She told me it was delicious. We were a group of 6 people and we initially had a reservation to have Korean food in the same plaza as this Mr. Mike. Unfortunately, the Korean restaurant in the same plaza had really bad management and after 1 hour our table was not ready. Because Mr. Mike was just in front of it, I went on OpenTable to make a reservation at 8 pm ish. I am so glad I got to try Mr. Mike. The food was very delicious. We showed up at 8ish and we were starving. It was close to happy hour so we decided to order something small to share and then at 9 happy hour items to share. I got the classic Mike burger to share with my friend and we got the following to share amongst 6 people: -garlic fries -panko shrimp -lobster dunk -chicken tenders I am super amazed on their food. Everything was super delicious. Everything was made fresh. Portion size was pretty good. B got a steak sandwich and I had a piece of his steak. I was amazed how tender it was. This place is very solid Service was great. Social distancing is in place. There are free parking in front. Everything was great at this restaurant. I love the vibe. I have also noticed that at every booth, they have charging outlet. They are definitely living in the future. read more

I've always wanted to see how this place was as I've driven by it in Coquitlam and also saw it in Kamloops. It says it's a steakhouse casual so we decided to try it last weekend. Went to this location to try. I got the sirloin steak ( traditional ) and added some panko shrimp on top. My wife got the NY steak. For mine, if I didn't add the panko shrimp, I don't know if the plate would have been full as the shrimp did take about 1/3 to 1/2 of the plate. The medium rare steak was good as it was cook right and tender. The amount of mash potato wasn't a lot and the vegetables were some broccoli and carrots. The shrimp was good too. My wife's NY steak was the 'gaucho style' where it is with blackened spice, garlic parmesan fries, vegetables and chimichurri sauce. I liked hers better with the blackened spice as it added more flavor to the steak. It gave it a much richer, peppery taste and her steak was more tender than mine. Would we come back? We probably would so we can try other dishes. read more

We stopped by for dinner with a group of friends. Our server was definitely one of the better servers I have had in awhile. He was on top of refilling water cups, dropping off extra napkins, grabbing extra dipping sauces, and clearing dirty plates. I ordered a filet mignon traditional style with the mash potatoes, and fresh veggies. I should have asked the bacon peppercorn sauce to be on the side. I am not a big sauce person and found it to be too much for my liking. The steak was made medium rare as requested. The rest of the meal was good. I liked how you could customize your steak order and there were many options. I have not been to a Mr Mikes and was pleasantly surprised at the meal experience. I would return to try other items as the restaurant is great for large groups. read more

I tried to give Mr. Mikes an opportunity to redeem themselves. So I used the gift cards management gave me to hopefully have a better experience. This time I ordered take out. I agree that take out won't exactly have the exact same quality as dine-in however, there are a few flaws here that I hope a restaurant of this standard wouldn't have made. Yet they did. It's common knowledge to have fish and chips take out in a well ventilated container so that it doesn't go soggy by then time you take it home. That wasn't the case. I also cannot understand how you would serve this with only a few pieces of fries? And the amount of coleslaw was just enough for garnish and nothing more. My partners beef dip, was just average and wasn't sure if take only meant only half the beef dip. And also, did they have to be so stingy with the fries again? Completely disappointing. We've been coming here for years and it definitely is not the same as it was as far as quality. At this point I think they've proved to me they aren't worth the effort or my money. More than happy to find other comparable places with a more consistent level of quality. Ie. Browns Social House, Cactus Club etc. read more

Had mixed experiences with this restaurant so decided to give it another try since it's late afternoon and the Keg doesn't open until 5pm. The restaurant was pretty empty when we walked in but we were seated after a few minutes: besides being seated promptly, everything else were at a Sunday drive speed. Could've taken a nap in between everything. Here were what we ordered; 1. Stuffed shrooms. A bit too runny and with a light sour taste to it so not a big fan of this one, had better ones at other places. 2. Hot lobster dunk. I don't know if it's me or it was better before. Still decently okay 3. kickass chicken salad. The grilled chicken was as dry as the Sahara desert and everything were a mess like it got ran over by a tornado. More like a poorass salad. 4. Filet mignon 7oz traditional style with sides of sautéed mushrooms, Oscar's lobster and seafood topper and side of gravy. Honestly no exaggeration, the filet steak was one of the worse steak I ate in a long time, it tasted powdery! The sautéed mushrooms... sigh! The Oscar's lobster and seafood topper another sigh. Total failed! Overall, it wasn't the most wow late lunch and Kind of disappointed. Now I know why I don't frequent this place much. Most certainly needs to be more organized and step up its service and food quality. read more

Make a reservation if you are there after 630 pm on weekends, it gets busy after that. Service was good, with the servers being knowledgeable about the food and drinks and desserts, and being able to make a solid recommendation. That was very helpful when one was overwhelmed by all the choices. The sirloin bites I had was delicious. Tender and well seasoned, they were great on its own. I did not care much for the dip which did not really go well together (my opinion). The salad looked sad and unappetizing though they tasted good. The bourbon ribs were not bad too, though it could be better coated with the sauce/seasoning. Some parts were blah. The desserts! The sticky toffee pudding was a winner! If you generally like this, you will love their version. Again, it did not look that pretty but it tasted darn good. The rocky mountain madness (turtle and chocolate cheesecake) was also good though it got a bit too rich after a while. Best to share. I will definitely be back again to try their other dishes. Happy Hour is until 530 pm over here. read more

First time in a long while that we enjoyed our food while eating out. Service was prompt and friendly. Not overly expensive and plenty of choices. Casual family friendly, a little darker but it adds to the atmosphere. We had honey garlic wings to start, came out hot and very tasty....best wings we've had in a long time. Dinner was great, wife had steak, I had ribs. Now I'm fussy when dit comes to ribs, need to be fall off the bone or very close to it, a descent amount of bbq sauce not overpowering the taste of the meat. Most places I regretted ordering them, but not tonight! Enjoyed my ribs 100%. We will certainly be back after this wonderful meal. read more

I had heard of Mr. Mikes from a family member back in Ontario. Thought it would be a great place for my girlfriends parents to meet mine for the first time over a steak dinner Had pre dinner drinks at the bar, Bartender was kind and courteous, went to the dining room where we had a great experience. Our server was very knowledgeable, ( not fake or recited) when he announced his favourite items on the menu. Food was fantastic. Wine was great! I will def be back. It was an authentic experience. Well done Mr. Mikes read more

Was going to make this a 3 star review but the servers and manager corrected the situation so 5 stars which I highly don't give it is! So basically what happened was someone at the Keg screwed up our reservations. I had 7 elders (70-90 years old) and 5 of my brothers and cousins having our Christmas dinner. Well our 530 reservation was a mixup so they told us 9:30. 9:30 are you fricken kidding me? They'd all be in bed by 8!! So I drove by Mr Mikes and decided to give them a call. Even with 2 days last minute notice, they took our reservation and I was so happy. Our server was Zoey. She is the best! Mr.Mikes you should promote this woman! She's quick efficient and always checked on us as well gave us good suggestions for what to order!! Our issue was one of the steaks was too burnt! So everyone was almost halfway through their meal and I spoke with hostess and they said they'd replace it STAT. About 10 min later, everyone was done their meals and my brother was frustrated so the manger came and spoke to us. Zoey came back and brought us two $25 gift cards and then told us dessert would be on the house. At the end my brother was happy, everyone was happy and we will be back again, promise. Thank you Zoey, as well management and the other employees. Your food is great, service is perfect and appreciate everything you guys did to make this one of the best meals out we've had in a long time! Highly recommend this location!!! You guys rock!!! read more

Used to be my favorite place to grab a burger. Went today... something was missing. It just didnt taste great. Last time i went was a few years ago. The manager was very friendly and staff was great. Overall experience and food quality has dropped drastically. This will be my last trip here. Really sad because I used to love this place. I heard the then manager was promoted to head office. Hope he reads this review. From your old navy vet you used to treat so well. Very disappointing. Lucky I gave it a 2. They used to be the best.... now just average with a steep price. read more

Mr. Mike's sure has changed... The last time I had been to Mr. Mike's it was one of those salad bar/all-you-can-eat chain restaurants that were all the rage in the mid- to late 80s (Sizzler, Bonanza to name two). Since the husband and I were feeling the nostalgia, in the mood for a steak, and had the two-fer-one coupon on hand, we decided to go. I liked their West Coast outdoorsy theme - a kayak hung from the ceiling, big photos of people mountain climbing - even if I don't know what it had to do with steak. The menu also has lots of dishes named after BC towns. Neat. We both had steak dinners; that's what Mr. Mike's specializes in. They were well priced, and quite good. I mean, if you're looking for the ultimate steak, maybe this isn't it, but it was delicious for the price point (just north of $20). Mine came with prawns and scallops in a buttery sauce, while the husband's plate was traditional - mushrooms, pepper sauce, and a baked potato. My only real complaint was that the menu said there were onion rings, and then the dish only came with two lil' rings. The cheesecake bites dessert was also lovely, with bite-sized squares of New York, Turtles, and raspberry swirl cake drizzled with chocolate, strawberry, and caramel sauce. The service was also very good, attentive and friendly, with no case of "disappearing waitress." Going to Mr. Mike's was like seeing an old friend all grown up. read more

Oh come on! This place isn't that bad! This has been my third meal here (all times others have chosen it) and whereas the food might not be fancy, it isn't bad either. Basically you're looking at burgers better then Denny's but not as good as Red Robin. No, this isn't the Mr. Mike's from your childhood but not in the same extreme way that freakin' White Spot tries to serve Indian food, LOL. At a recent birthday party my mom and I shared the mushroom Mike burger with fries. For two little ladies like ourselves, this burger is perfect for sharing, especially if you glance beforehand at the calorie count. Service was fine. Bonus points for accommodating my messy niece and nephew. I don't do the whole "family" dinner thing often, but this place is appropriate for that.... right down to the kid's mac n' cheese which was in fact Kraft Dinner. Bottom line... this place is good for a group of people, especially if your group involves wildly different tastes and ages. They don't take reservations so just bear that in mind. read more

Went to Mr Mikes in November. Was so disappointed. 2 bad meals, mine and my Dil. She had chicken tenders which were dry and tasteless. I had sirloin bites which looked and tasted like dog food. I left a bad review. Talked to a manager and after persuasion decided to try again. Had the chicken burger. Husband had steak sandwich. Both were super and we enjoyed our meals. Just tried Mr. Mike's for the first time last night. Nice atmosphere in the bar (the "lodge") and the staff was very friendly and efficient. Nice glass of sangiovese on the wine list. Only Cuervo Gold for tequila - blerg. BC needs to start getting better tequila in their bars. The food was only OK and pricey for something that seemed a step down from the White Spot. To be fair, we ordered "pub food" - no idea what the dinner plates may be like. The chicken burger sounds good - char-broiled breast of chicken with dill mayo, lettuce, tomato, bacon and asiago cheese AND sauteed mushrooms. I had mine without cheese (allergic to dairy) and it was still a bit confusing. With cheese and mushrooms, maybe fine - but cheese, mushrooms, bacon, tomato and the dressing - the flavors were competing. Loved the mayo dressing. The bun, while toasted and tasty, was somewhat hard and did a nice job of tearing up the roof of my mouth. I took it apart and ate the components separately. The fries were fine - standard - but would be better with a side of the dill mayo instead of ketchup. My husband had the Bacon Mikeburger. He wasn't impressed and later said the meat didn't taste that great. We found out why a few hours later. Yup - food poisoning. They threw that in for free. We know chain restaurants aren't usually much to write home about, but when all you're looking for is an easy, comfortable bite to eat, you should be able to get just that without getting a sandwich that's either trying too hard to be something it's not or a burger that almost sends you to the ER. If you go, maybe drink a lot of booze with your food and you might be OK. read more

I too recall going to Mr.Mikes as a kid. The gold foil-wrapped baked potatoes were always a treat, and that potato-topping holder thing they would bring by so you could load up...awesome! They have come a long way since the 70's! Every time I come to this location I leave satisfied. There was one occasion when the kitchen prepared our starter and entree so they arrived minutes apart at the table. No big deal though, and really didn't think much of it. Needless to say the manager comes by and apologizes and says they would comp the appetizer! Not necessary, but very nice all the same. That's service! If you like garbage, and little of it mr. Mikes aka Westcoast Grill is for you. Waiter came by table twice - once to take order and once to drop off wrong check. Food was so overly cooked ( great thing to see in a steak house) pasta turned to poridge. Food was served on oversized cracked plates that had obviously touched other food ( I ordered nothing with BBQ sauce on it - yet there was a lot of it all over the side of my plate). We would have complained but the wait staff were all busy playing grabass by the bar. Many patrons just got up and walked. You'd get better food quality from a dumpster at Arby's. Tony Roma's disappeared, and so Mr Mike's it was. They have a decent menu with lots of options - mostly options I'm allergic to, but then again I seem to be allergic to everything. But why does all the chicken offerings have to have seafood, that's a top 5 allergy! Hmm... well they are a chain so not the specific location's fault. Anyways... the service I received here was adequate to good, fast enough. My appie was kinda burnt. My salad was lovely though! I wouldn't plan on going here again, but if there was nothing else at least it's not tacky like Montana's. read more

The only reason this establishment is getting ANY stars is due to the kitchen staff doing their job well, HOWEVER, the service we received here was pathetically sub-par and downright insulting. Our waitress couldn't grasp even the simplest rules of serving. Clumsy, rude and forgetful are just the tip of the iceberg, waiting an hour for appetizers is never a good sign, looking back we should have taken the hint & left for a better place. The toilets were DISGUSTINGLY dirty, seriously, gas stations would have better. Sticky wet floors, just gross. When we finally talked to the floor manager about it all she took it very personally and asked us to leave, of course this was AFTER we paid (7 people were part of this meal and we spend a lot of money that evening). We were ESCORTED OUT. To sum it up: BAD, no HORRIBLE, management. Go to a 7-11, serving yourself will be better and I bet their toilets are more hygienic. read more

Like one of the other reviewers, my memory of Mr. Mike's was one of those salad bar/all-you-can-eat chain restaurants that were all the rage in the mid- to late 80s (Sizzler, Bonanza to name two). More than a few of us have great memories from late night Mr. Mike conversations with the girlfriends, but seeing the name again also started my mouth watering for a Mike burger with cheese! There is just something unique about a juicy Mike burger on their own unique, toasted garlic-y bun. Mr. Mike's has been out in full force supporting local community groups and at city events and I just had to try another of those Mike Burgers, so in I went. Atmosphere is fun with the West Coast outdoorsy theme - a kayak hung from the ceiling, a fireplace and lounge and the menu has dishes named after BC towns. True to form, the Mike burger was as good as ever! Yumm!! Even the slider option is good, but you can't beat the original Mike burger. Service has only occasionally been less than ideal, but if there is a problem Kyle, the owner and staff will be quick to assist if you are pleasant enough to share your concern instead of complaining later online... I'd go more often, but for those of us who are settling in to middle age the restaurant can be really loud because there is little to buffer the sound carrying across this mostly open space, so the atmosphere may cater more to the younger set who can filter it out better. read more

Right of the top have to say the worst meal out in a really long time. We haven't been to MM in a couple years - the renovations are lovely & it is much nicer inside. Which made me think the food would have been kicked up a notch too. Wrong. We started with the lobster dip which was cheesy enough but too many chips for the amount of dip & I think they just picked up a picture of a lobster, waved it over the dip, and called it done. It was a bit salty for my taste and the pile of nacho chips was disproportionate and inconsistent. Some were thin and crispy but at least half were thicker and stale. I ordered a bacon mushroom burger with a side of BBQ sauce - which was also terrible and tasted plastic and stale - quite nasty actually. AND they charged me $0.50 for it. Trying to eat the burger was a gong show, everything just slid apart & made a huge mess. I had to eat it with a knife & fork. But after 1 bite of the "meat" all I ate was the bun & toppings anyway. Totally processed gross patty & not even a hint of being charbroiled. Fries were nothing worth eating. Hubby had a steak which was tough but he said tasted ok & he also said the bruschetta was good. No need for us to ever go back. Red Robin does a better burger at that price. read more
