The layout of ordering is so odd. No sort of line just standing between tables waiting for a cashier. Not super organized. Food was just fine. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad. Waffle I could have gotten at a hotel breakfast was disappointing. But coffee was nice.

Whether it's for a quick breakfast or a casual lunch, The Buffalo Grille is definitely a local haunt for the neighborhood. The format is simple: order at the counter, find a table, fetch your own water and condiments and eventually someone will call out your name to pick up the food. It's a sizeable spot with plenty of seating and some limited outdoor seating as well. It might feel like a senior citizen's hour sometimes (#1) and it's very family oriented. There's never an issue with the parking and the bathrooms are also decent. Occasionally there are lines during the weekend, but I've managed to come here line-free most of the time. The menu is a solid variety of American brunch favorites, along with a touch of Mexican breakfast and some sandwiches, salads, and soups. The food isn't glamorous by any stretch but some things worth noting: * Buffalo burger is a thin "buffalo meat" patty that feels no different than a regular patty. Not worth it. * Their hashbrowns are super crispy and I wish the portion was a bit more. * Huevos rancheros and huevos con papa are not mind blowing, but the I do love the sausage patties. No thanks on the migas with those excessive onions. * When in doubt, go with an omelette. They're hearty, affordable, and stuffed quite nicely. I love the counter where all the condiments, drinks, and utensils are. The have a bunch of hot sauce bottles and a hot syrup dispenser. I love being able to get the water and napkins at my leisure versus summoning the staff for more. They're a nice bunch but I've had enough order snafus here to expect a mishap here and there. This isn't going to be priority spot for the weekend brunch hour or weekday lunch, but it'll do whenever I'm looking for food in West U. __________ (#1) Ok. All the time.

My friends and I came here after a Saturday morning workout so we were hungry. Overall good cafe for work. Noise level - did not measure but many conversations in the restaurant Wifi speed - 120 down 120 up is impressive Power plugs - did not see any Seats - 40-50 indoors Parking - free, many strip mall lots Our food came within 15 mins of waiting. My omelette was delicious. The short stack of pancakes is not short at all. We had a good meal. I'd probably come back to have another breakfast during the weekday and bring my own battery to work and when the noise level is lower. But I'll definitely come back here for the food!

I love the Buffalo grille! My boyfriend recommended it originally since we drive past it a lot. Said the breakfast was really good so when my dad was in town we decided to try it. I had the BYO scramble with pretty much every topping in it lol my dad had a blueberry pancake the first time we went. The scramble is delishhhh. My dad enjoyed his pancake so much he decided we should go back. I had pretty much the same thing again but with cheesy grits and was still good. He had a classic breakfast and it was just what he wanted. The coffee is fine, they have some flavored roasts. Nothing fancy. They also have a variety of other stuff on their menu so would definitely want to come back try some more out. The service is always fast. You order at the counter and the food is usually out within 5-10 min tops.

Large portions. Good value. A consistent place for many years (even in the new location). A Texas treasure and local gem.

He ended up being one of the best aspects of our experience that evening. Our waitress wasn't nearly as good. We started by asking for ice in the water from the waitress since they just give you room temp water. After 10 mins of seeing her serve other tables and ignoring our request, we then figured the water boy would make it happen...and sure enough he did. We then ordered the grilled oysters, which are very lightly cooked, almost seemingly steamed more than anything, but they were very good regardless of the cooking method with the sauces and garnishes and pickle juice added. Next up was ordering the entrees. The menu here is a little strange with numerous vegan choices with strange titles and only a few items with protein. To top it off, there are not many choices period. The waitress explained that the left side is basically the apps, and the right side is basically the entrees. I knew I wanted to try the wagyu flat iron steak which is priced pretty high here, compared to other wagyu flat irons I've had at other restaurants across the US. We couldn't really decide on a 2nd main dish then the waitress mentioned the off the menu special which was a scallop pasta so we picked that thinking it sounded delicious. The entrees come out about 15 mins later, and we take our first bites and we both thought, oh no, if we share the other person across from me isn't going to like this dish because it's too salty. I tried the steak first and noticed the sauce being extra salty, then I tried the pasta and the pasta was way worse, but the scallops didn't seem to be affected. We immediately told the waitress the next time she stopped by....and she just said okay, and walked away. I figured she would go get the manager....but nope...she just kept on serving other tables. At this point we thought to ourselves only the oyster app was decent.....and no reason to look at the dessert menu since we had already spent over $100 on food we could hardly eat. Sure enough, the waitress stops by a 2nd time and asks if we'd like to see the dessert menu. I couldn't leave fast enough and told her we'll skip. Needless to say we both left hungry as the portions were not only not edible, but also fairly small. The water boy also stopped by and offered to turn on the heater if we get cold. Boy, I wish he was our waiter instead. For a supposedly Michelin-starred restaurant, I feel they really got this one wrong.

The team behind the popular restaurant Nobie's opened up this tiki inspired restaurant. Tiki bars happen to be one of my favorite varieties of bars so I was more than excited to finally check it off my list. I had recently seen them on the Food Network as well. They share a lot with another popular dining spot so parking can be a little difficult in their lot. You can find street parking or park across the street in an overflow lot. Customer service was great from start to finish. We had just ate next door and our intentions were to come in here just for cocktails, but I couldn't leave without trying some of the popular items. I wanted the most tropical drink I could find on the menu so I started off with the Blue Hawaiian. I saw fire on the description so my extra self needed to have it. I'm a big rum guy so this drink was right up my alley and very boozy with two types of rum. It was very coconut forward with pineapple being the secondary flavor. One was enough for me to feel just right. Since we had just ate, we decided to share the World Famous Cheeseburger. This was a great burger. I don't know if they were going for the smash effect, but it had smash burger characteristics. It had all my favorite things that are musts on a burger like American cheese and red onions. It also had a very nice chili aioli that added great flavor to the burger. I came on another stop for a drink visit shortly after and tried the pork dumplings and popcorn chicken. These were also very good. If I lived in the area, this place would easily be a place I would frequent often. I will most definitely be back!

The pork chop had a beautiful char and was full of flavor--slightly undercooked, yes, but still delicious enough to carry the whole meal. I do wish they had mashed potatoes on the menu, though... it would have made it perfect. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, and sadly, they missed the mark this time. Dry and bitter, nothing like the saucy, flavorful version I've had before--maybe just the late hour catching up with the kitchen. But even so, that pork chop... it lingered in the best way. And sometimes, that's all you need.

I came here with a friend and--aside from one minor brush with hanger while waiting for our entrées--it was a knockout from start to finish. Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way: yes, the mains took their sweet time arriving. But when they finally landed, they were piping hot and clearly fresh off the stove. I forgave them somewhere between the first bite and the second forkful of "wow." The decor is light, airy, and effortlessly stylish--think modern chic with a side of "yes, I will absolutely Instagram this." Bonus points for a charming patio I'm already plotting to return to. To kick things off, the bread was warm and tasty (a bread basket that actually earns its keep). The calamari? Crispy, tender, and didn't need to be drowned in sauce to be delicious. My pasta entrée hit all the right notes--comforting and flavorful without trying too hard. But let's talk dessert. The star. I had the lemon meringue and let's just say if they sold it by the slice to-go, I'd have left with three. Tart, fluffy, and the perfect sweet ending to a slow-burn, high-reward kind of meal.
