A true neighborhood gem. We are regulars here and the food and service are consistently outstanding! They serve classic American comfort dishes with very generous portions and great drinks suitable for everybody. Vibe is clean and casual, and the patio is dog friendly. The restaurant is frequented by the locals in the Tanglewood area and you can really feel it in the vibe and warm service. Our favorite foods are the small house salad (technically a starter but large enough to serve as a meal), spinach artichoke dip, basket of fries, Cobb salad with fried chicken, petite steak and eggs, egg salad with bacon sandwich, bacon blue cheese hamburger, and chocolate cake. The strawberry lemonade is excellent and the drip coffee is solid. Don't sleep on the garlic ranch. The portions are so big here that each regular meal usually ends up being split into two for a leftover meal or to be shared at the restaurant (they can even split individual plates if you ask). Their style of fries is one of my personal favorites - stringy thin and crispy fries with Cajun seasoning.

Great food, great service! Super cute vibes. Came for brunch after church and ordered the Green Eggs plate. SO much food for my big appetite.. and delicious!

The service was great! The food was delicious. The ladies room was clean, and they had complimentary mouth wash with disposable cups available too. Fancy! There's also a baby changer. Plenty of parking! The inside of the restaurant is spacious. Lovely decorations. I tried their Luna pepperoni pizza and it was tasty! I ordered for myself the meatloaf with grilled asparagus - the sauce on the meatloaf was sweeter than I'm used to but the meatloaf was very savory so it was a nice combination of flavors. Great servings! Had leftovers for a couple days. Will return soon!

Barnaby's is consistently great. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, to-go or dine- in, it really doesn't matter -- we can always count on Barnaby's to provide us with an awesome meal and experience! Stop on by the Fountain View location, it's just as amazing as every other one!

This was my first time coming to this location. Barnaby's has great breakfast/brunch/lunch and is yummy and affordable. I always enjoy the club sandwich even though it's painfully messy to eat. The fries here are pretty bland so you definitely need to douse them in ketchup. Love the big pickle! Our booth seats were dirty/had crumbs when we sat.

Food, the great customer service and ambiance can NOT be beat. The sweet potato fries are my go to as they are one of my favorites of the many things on the menu.

Stopped by for brunch with my friend and his kids and the host was very off-putting from the moment we walked in. They dismissed us until I spoke up as if they couldn't see us standing there. Then tried to sit us by the bathroom, with two kids, which was an absolute NO. We asked to be seated in the "patio" area and ordered right before brunch was over. The food had no taste and the service sucked. Our waiter was decent and the only polite person there but the experience overall was upsetting. You'd think people would be nicer especially when they see you with kids. Sigh.

Great food and service at Barnaby's cafe! Awesome menu options! I had the mealoaf sandwich which was huge! Love the Mac n cheese too! Great server!

Really enjoyed eating here! Came during pride month and they had pride flags all over the place, which I enjoyed. Not sure if they have them all the time or just during June though. The servers were also very nice. The food always good! Fries were well seasoned and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. I also really enjoyed the cinnamon apple side!

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. We were greeted by three different people - one that took our drink order, one that cleared our plates, and one that took our order. All were very nice people and gave excellent service! I forgot their names unfortunately. My receipt said Zachary but not sure which waiter that was. Between me and hubs, we had a Pan de campo, an order of Gulf Oysters "casino", (4) dressed oysters, a 16 oz dry aged ribeye, a snapper entree and a side of crab fried rice. We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail. Hubs had their "classic" old fashioned which he said was excellent! Overall, highly recommended if you don't mind the splurge or for a special occasion!

They offer affordably priced…read morefood (#1), simple and tasty casual fare, and keep it relatively flexible for all folks (dates, families, group dining, etc.) by providing excellent service, and a consistent experience every time. Similarly to their more popular location in Memorial (#2), this outside of this Bellaire spot doesn't immediately tell the full story. The interior has an industrial vibe, with the high ceilings and overhead fixtures, but as converted into a solid dining space. The large tilted mirrors in the main area are reminiscent of the now defunct Helen's (#3) and makes for a fun (or perhaps distracting) visual. The spacious layout allows breathing room for all kinds of groups. Service has been good overall, and prompt throughout every visit. The American bistro inspired menu has a decent amount of variety that spans from brunch to a tasty weeknight dinner and a drink. Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning. Their bacon double cheeseburger has been deemed "insta-famous" and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's juicy, a little messy, but a lot delicious. It paired well with their large cut fries (consider upgrading to the truffle fries), but the house made chips are also a good light bite. Their salads are equally fabulous from their classic caesar to a hearty cobb salad. I wasn't as impressed with the crunchy Asian salad, but thought their faro salad was a thumbs up. Understandably, the priciest meals are some of their grilled and house specialty meals, such as a prime tenderloin filet ($42), Mediterranean roasted redfish ($36), twelve hour ribs ($29), and rosemary-lemon chicken ($29), all of which are solid. I feel the buttermilk chicken tender platter ($19) is really meant for children, but is great for any tender lover in the bunch. Their weekly "features" are a series of daily specials that range from prime rib nights on Wednesdays and ribeyes on Thursdays, and "kids eat free" specials + their happy hour give folks plenty of reason to check it out. ___________ ( #1) Especially during their seasonal deals which can sometimes include steep discounts. This is the second time I've purchase the steak frites to-go at this establishment within a week, and they aren't serving what the menu states! Menu clearly says the cut of steak for the steak fries is ribeye, and this is absolutely NOT RIBEYE. The first time I ordered it last week, I let it slide because it was still tasty and this restaurant is in walking distance from my house so it's convenient...I just figured they ran out of the advertised cut of beef and made a one off substitution. Went in today and ordered the same dish and was served the same cut of beef, which is obviously a flank or skirt steak... definitely not what is being advertised! Called and spoke with the manager and she was apologetic and promptly gave me a refund. I'm only writing this review because it is a poor business practice to advertise one thing and serve something else. Either increase the pricing for what is advertised or change the menu to reflect what you're actually serving....It's just as simple as that! Transparency matters and this is very deceptive. Not sure if I will dine here again.
