    Tapester's Cheesesteak
    Taylor H.

When I walked in the staff was friendly. It's a small time diner feel. You order before you take a seat. The food was very ok. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was the best of the things we ordered. The fries however, were pretty tasty.

Chips and Salsa, Chicken Fried Ribeye, Smothered Ribeye and Chicken Fried Chicken! Sorry, we dove in and I didn't take a BEFORE photo.

AWESOME!!! Fantastic friendly , knowledgeable staff & a great atmosphere! Food is excellent and plenty of it! Prices are really reasonable and the menu is HUGE! Our first time, we came for lunch, great crowd. We'll be back again and again to try more of all the food on this menu & just to hang out! Magnificent place!!!

I've had the pleasure of trying everything on the menu, I can highly recommend literally everything. The #1 Made from scratch kitchen in Houston. The biggest burgers, the most phenomenal buns, best of the best, everything satisfies the beast!!!

Cute place on Beechnut for dinner with a large group of friends. My husband loved his mushroom burger and fries. The chicken tortilla soup was okay. It was served with a hot, warm roll which was good. The restaurant was fairly empty which was great for our party of 16. Easy to switch seats to catch up with friends. Parking was easy at the restaurant as it was not that busy. Note: They close at 8 PM on Saturdays. Would come here early if you want to chat with your friends. (Or you'll be talking in the parking lot after they close.)

the portion of the fried chicken sandwich is humongous. the quality of the biscuit egg and chicken were alright. was a bit bland.

Continues to be one of my go to places for breakfast/brunch! The chicken biscuit is heavenly, so indulgent. I take half home for later! The staff are so nice as well. Fun place to bring family/friends and there's a patio for when the weather is nice!

We tried Tapester's Grill today and had a terrific experience. Service was great- staff was very friendly- and our meal was excellent. We ordered the bananas foster pancakes with eggs and bacon, and the breakfast enchilada special. Was plenty of food for 3 ppl. We will certainly be back.

I normally post good reviews but unfortunately this one is not so great. I got the chicken strips which were pretty good but look at the fries! They weren't over cooked they were recooked! Or, they were from a way earlier lunchtime. I love the drive through convenience & the location. Really hope they do better!

This biscuit, egg, pan sausage and hash brown breakfast is awesome. Every bite is highly enjoyable. The service has an old country feel to it. The ambiance was of a small Texas town on a Saturday morning. Nice throwback feel and simple arrangements.

Food was excellent. Comfort food and familiar dishes on the menu. The vegetables are homemade and tastes like mom used to make.

Worst dining experience of my life! Food took over fifty (50!) minutes to arrive, and the staff was unbelievably rude. I will never return.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially during brunch with all the natural lighting coming through the indoor space. Such a lovely atmosphere with plants surrounding us. The food was amazing, and sharing appetizers was the perfect way to try a few different things. They also have a huge wine selection, which I really enjoyed. I tried their pizza paired with wine, and honestly, it was the perfect combination. The service was also excellent, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made the experience even better without feeling rushed. They even asked if we wanted to help to get our picture taken, that was so sweet of them.

I arrived about an hour before closing, expecting it to be quiet, but at 9:00 p.m. it was still bustling with energy, laughter, and that soft glow that makes everything feel a little more special. I ordered the pork chop and swapped the carrots for broccolini. The pork chop had a beautiful char and was full of flavor--slightly undercooked, yes, but still delicious enough to carry the whole meal. I do wish they had mashed potatoes on the menu, though... it would have made it perfect. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, and sadly, they missed the mark this time. Dry and bitter, nothing like the saucy, flavorful version I've had before--maybe just the late hour catching up with the kitchen. But even so, that pork chop... it lingered in the best way. And sometimes, that's all you need.

I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I will always treasure and remember Vinology and plan to support the business more in the future. Hats off to the folks who own and run this wine establishment.

Fun fact of the day: a panuozzo is a sandwich made of pizza dough, and that's how they do it here too! The result is a crispy shelled bread with a soft and chewy interior-- a dream to layer on topping and devour :D ** Apple walnut burrata kale salad (5/5)-- despite lacking the sautéed cinnamon apples advertised in the description (the fresh ones were still yummy!), this salad was still madly delicious! Baby kale massaged in balsamic vinaigrette was topped with creamy burrata, making each bite a balance of acidic, sweet, and creamy. Definitely a good pick for burrata fans-- mmm, so good! We used the pieces of bread to sop up the sauces of our other dishes :) ** Vodka pasta (4/5)-- a simple but well executed dish with mezze maniche or a wider, shorter version of rigatoni. The sauce was creamy and flavorful and studded with pieces of flavorful, salty pancetta. It was served hot :) ** Maialino panuozzo (4.5/5)-- the bread was so delicious, as it was chewy and airy and held up well against the toppings. The porchetta was meaty, and I couldn't really discern the crispy eggplant or taste the spicy mayo, but I loved it; the overall flavor was mild and not too salty. MT thought it was too mild and said next time we would order something heavier sounding like the truffle sandwich. But he still enjoyed it, and I thought it was the best sandwich I've had in recent memory! Ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. :) ** Arancini (4/5)-- this fried risotto ball was dressed up and heated before served to us at the table. It's rich, hot, and creamy! Not much ragu or meat in the middle (more so cheesy rice), but it came topped with meat sauce. I'm not an expert, but these were really big and tasty to share. The man at the counter was very friendly and thanked us for coming. It was heart-warming to see him excitedly speaking Italian to an elderly couple walking in too. Definitely bring a jacket for cold windy days as there's a draft inside and it gets chilly whenever the doors open. Cotto E Crudo is going to be a hit in warmer months-- excited to return and try more of the menu!
