For years, I told myself I would stop by and check our DIsh Society. I use to have doctors at the Methodist Primary Group a few steps away; I was finally able to convince my Mom to transfer her care to this area. Recently she had an afternoon appointment and I was able to swing by and join her. When her appointments were completed, it was in the beginning of peak traffic time, so we decided to walk over to DS and have a bite to eat and catch up This space is so open as well as cozy. Soon as you enter, you head straight to the counter to order. From there, you're given a number and choose your seat. Booth and table options are available. On a Thursday afternoon, the place wasn't busy but not empty, which gave my Mom and I the opportunity to catch up without a noisy dining room. The food came out fresh and hot and for the price, we were surprised by the portion since its was the $10 HH burger and fries. The fountain drinks were interesring as well. DS does not have Coke or Pepsi products. They have similiar flavors you would find with those brands. I enjoyed the Mexican Coke. It seemed to not be as fizzy aa your own well know caffenated Compadres but still carried a great flavor. Let me not skip over the dessert! Mom LOVED the pecan pie which she states had whole pecans instead of pieces. I did not wven notice that she had been getting pieces of the pie as we talked. Half of it was gone when we left. That means is pretty scrumptous! I had enough willpower to eat my chocolate chip cookie when I got home and it was worth the wait! Not only is the cookie huge, but the semi sweet chocolate and sea salt is chef's kiss. Grat combo of both worlds. Combine that with the crunchy outisude and chewy, gooey interior and this is one of the best cookies I've tasted in a long time. I've been to Dish Society a handful of times over the years. This was my first time checking out this location. I stopped by with my buddy on a Thursday evening close to 9 p.m. Free parking was a cinch in the parking lot they share with several other businesses. Service (4.5/5): You order at the counter and then they bring your food out to you. The lady who brought me my food checked on me twice and was super nice. She called me "sweetheart," a little Southern hospitality goes a long way. Ambiance (4/5): Modern, clean, and comfortable. In line with other Dish Society locations I've been to. We sat at a booth/table combo. Drinks (4.5/5): I love when a restaurant has more than your standard selection of soft drinks. You'll find that at Dish Society. They have "craft" sodas and a nice selection of juice blends. Plus sweet and unsweet tea. Food (4/5): I went with a cup of the tomato bisque soup and the Nutella French toast. The soup tasted as good as it looked. Some croutons or a piece of garlic bread would have been nice, but outside of that, this starter couldn't have been better. The Nutella French Toast was similarly well done. I love French Toast and I love Nutella. So this was a match made in heaven. Along with some sliced strawberries and some blackberries, I was happy I went with a breakfast dish for dinner (they serve brunch all day). The prices are affordable for the quality of the food. Dish Society was great for a quick brunch during the work day. A friend and I had some time to get a quick lunch and we decided on Dish Society. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and my friend got the Memorial Trail Scramble. My Shrimp and Grits were very good, and quite different from others I've had before. The shrimp were perfect and the grits were rich and flavorful and really buttery. I didn't sample my friend's entree but she said it was delicious and the side of seasonal fruit had all her favorites and was very fresh. It's a counter service and they bring out the food which is nice. The dining area is elegant but approachable and not overly trendy like a lot of places. The manager did a pretty good job of replacing my dish although the replacement was cheaper than my original meal and think they should have refunded me the difference. The replacement was fine - turkey avocado sandwich as there is only a small threshold for failure however the homemade chips were inedible. They tasted like freezer and were varying degrees of salty. I ordered the Citrus glazed salmon (with glaze on side) and a butter brown chocolate cookie for delivery. The fish was very delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly and was a decent size. This is a true gem! After church a few weeks ago we were on the hunt for a new brunch spot. After a quick search on Yelp, Dish Society won the vote. We were greeted warmly at the front and ushered to the order line. I'm typically a pancake girly but I love skillets so went with that. Excellent flavor, mixture of sweet and savory plus it came out hot. My friend had the chicken sandwich and her niece had French toast. They both raved about how good it was. Here's the gold: the greeter came over to check on us and because it was our first time, she offered us a complimentary order of beignets!!! Anyway, I get an email offer for a free birthday meal, which caught me off guard because I didn't remember ever signing up for this place's mailing list. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I went over. The parking is a bit rough given the number of stores in the complex, but it was easy enough to find parking outside of lunch hours. The place has a bit of a bohemian vibe to it, but also trendy, the kind of place where you'd go for brunch with your friends. On my first visit, I tried their shrimp and grits. It was absolutely fantastic. I wouldn't call it the "best I've ever had" but it was definitely in the top three. A few months later, we were getting lunch covered by our company so we decided to order from here again. At my colleague's recommendation, I went with the Texas Hot Chicken sandwich. Another home run of a menu item. That's his go-to item but I think I'll try a few more things before settling on a favorite. read more

Stopped in here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place was not packed at all and I love that, most spots are normally full to the brim around 10:30am on a Saturday. I ordered the Texas Hot Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich was quite flavorful and the pretzel bun was a good touch. There was a slaw on there that made it quite juicy and was not off putting. The fries were super crisp and delicious as well. I also picked up a brown butter chocolate chunk cookie. It wasn't the freshest and had a bit of an artificial taste on the palette. Not the best cookie. My SO ordered the traditional breakfast as well as a side pancake. This was quite subpar. The fruit cup wasn't the freshest. The sausage and eggs were a typical breakfast, think Dennys, and the pancake was flat and quite flavorless. We ordered the Breakfast Shot and a Prickly Pear mimosa as well. The breakfast shot was so large it was basically a drink. More of a dessert style shot with maple syrup, super sweet, and not really up my alley. The prickly pear mimosa was mostly bubbles and lacked a prickly pear taste profile. More so just like a "fruit" mimosa. Overall this would be a nice place to grab a quick bite for brunch, I may have to revisit for a lunch/dinner to experience the food then as well. read more

It was a $18 meal. Tiny portion of battered fries spread thinly across the plate -- about a small portion at Mickey D's equivalent. I have to vent a bit on the tipping demand placed on patrons who are not actually being serviced tableside. Your cashier was super, sweet and helpful about the food, so I felt obliged to tip, though ringing someone up is not tip-worthy. I'm tired of supplementing business owners who expect their patrons to tend to themselves, doing the bare minimum, while their customers subsidize their labor expenses. The pretzel appetizers came after the main courses, the servings were tiny and the pretzels were stale, like they'd been microwaved. The gouda sauce was lovely, and my friend enjoyed her grits & shrimp. Another at our table actually left their fries, (his burger was also cooked incorrectly) and the other pulled half the coleslaw topping off his fried chicken strips and left it behind. There's something for everyone's palate, and the "order and seat yourself" layout ensures that there won't be a ridiculous wait for a table. When I go, I love to get their crispy chicken Caesar salad. The chicken is seasoned to perfection, and the crispy chickpeas on top seal the deal. She asked if we have been here before and we mentioned it was our first time. She told us to grab a menu and then order at the front. The menu had a TON of options and they all looked and sound amazing. The customer service all around, from Maddie, to the two gentlemen taking orders, to the workers bringing the food and the bussers. Customer service was tier one. Now, let's get to the food. Less than 10" later, after plating out two salads I found that the crispy chicken in my Caesar had the consistency of something that came out of the fryer the previous day. We stopped here for breakfast on a Friday morning and the restaurant was fairly empty. You order at the counter here and the drinks are self service. The restaurant is huge and there were plenty of options for seating. The tables had cloth wrapped silverware so that elevated the normal counter service experience. Service: this is a mostly self service experience and the only interaction we had was when a food runner brought our food to our table. Food: we ordered 3 dishes for breakfast. We ordered the avocado toast, chicken and biscuit and a double stack of chocolate chip pancakes. The food came out very nicely plated so we were excited to dig in. My sister in law had the avocado toast and the toast was a little burnt which made the bread hard. I had a piece of her toast and while the bread was hard, the avocado was fresh and the over easy egg was cooked well. For $10, the toast was a little small. The chicken and biscuit was the best dish we had. It had a big fried chicken breast on a nicely cooked biscuit. The chicken had an ok flavor but you definitely needed the side of gravy because the biscuit and chicken together was a little dry. The gravy was interesting as it had a little taste of lemon/acidity that I had never had in a gravy before. We enjoyed it after the initial flavor shock. The double stack of chocolate chip pancakes was pretty standard. They were large and had a lot of chocolate chips. It came with a side of syrup. The pancakes tasted fine with most of the flavor coming from the chocolate chips. We needed the syrup to counteract some of the dryness of the pancakes. Ambiance: the restaurant is very open and has high ceilings so it was nice to feel like we were in a fancy restaurant. The cloth wrapped utensils are a nice touch. Overall I appreciated the feel of Dish Society. The food was average in taste but the price point is what is to be expected at a casual restaurant like this. If you need somewhere quick and stress free for breakfast with decent food options, this is a great place. I think I'll be back to try the lunch menu as there were some options on there that sounded pretty good. read more
