I love Snooze, but PLEASE bring back my chilaquiles! They used to be my go to until they disappeared, now I either get French toast or a pancake flight. I am vegetarian so I appreciate the amount of options they have for me like the tofu and chorizo. Their hashbrowns are some of my favorites as well. It gets pretty full here on there weekends, so I typically order online for pickup. It's always ready on time and the people are polite and attentive when you walk in, unlike some places that will have you waiting before fretting you. It's a family friendly place, so you'll see plenty families there. It's in a plaza with quite a few things so parking shouldn't be too much for an issue. read more

I've been to a couple of Snooze, an A.M. Eatery locations around Houston, and overall it's a solid spot. They've got a few locations like Montrose and Memorial, and they all pretty much bring the same vibe--bright, trendy, brunch-heavy energy. The food is good, no question. They do breakfast a little different--creative pancakes, Benedicts, and just a twist on the usual brunch stuff. You can tell they're trying to elevate it beyond basic eggs and bacon. I'm giving it 4 stars though. It's definitely on the trendy/touristy side, so you're gonna deal with waits, crowds, and prices that are a little higher than your regular breakfast spot. I tried that million dollar bacon and it was a Carmelized sweet crispy bacon. it was good but to be honest I'm not a bacon person and that actually made the bacon taste like a treat. I also got the harvest green omelet and I have to say that was delicious and filling. I loved the cheese that they put on top of the avocado, it blended so well with the omelette. The salad I think they used balsamic vinegar on it so it was definitely hearty and flavorful. The eggs Benedict was cooked to perfect as well. The hash browns were okay. This is a solid brunch location. I've visited a few times over the past few years. They are ALWAYS busy! There is ample parking. They have both indoor and outdoor seating - the indoor options fill up very quickly! They have a mix of booths and tables which makes for a nice diner feel. I was taken aback by such a wide selection of sweet and savory options. On a recent visit I opted for the signature pancake flight. Boy, are these delicious!! The pineapple upside down flavor is such a unique take on a dessert pancake, I adored the little pineapple chunks. The strawberry shortcake was sweet, simple, and tasty. Cinnamon roll was more of a traditional flavor but you need that kind of balance for such special flavors. J and I finished these pretty quickly for breakfast! On another visit, I went for the weekday eats Juan's Two Taco Breakfast. This was a pretty great deal for a breakfast meal and very tasty! The corn tortillas were an excellent choice. I especially liked the texture of the hash browns. As we did in-person dining that day, for a Friday morning the service was surprisingly slow. We waited quite some time just to place our order. Thankfully, the meal was worth the wait! I will certainly be back here for a breakfast with friends as it is so conveniently located and has such a nice variety of offerings. Love that Snooze opened a new spot on Holcombe in West U and there's a huge parking lot, which is a big plus. We joined the Yelp waitlist about 30 minutes before heading over and got seated within 5 minutes of arriving (highly recommend doing that or you'll wait a while). Food was solid as always, nothing crazy, just good brunch comfort. We got the Snooze Classic (8/10), Spuds Deluxe (8/10), and Denver Omelette (6/10). The fall pumpkin pancake was the star so good (9/10)! Took a bit for the food to come out, but overall it's still one of my go-to brunch spots for reliable food and chill vibes. read more

Had to give 4 stars because the service was supremely slow at this location on a Sunday morning, had my party absolutely starving. The atmosphere is pretty casual, with lots of families and kids. I went with a few friends in nicer clothes and felt a bit overdressed. Shrimp and grits: amazing. Juicy shrimp and well seasoned grits. Also am a big fan of shrimp and grits, haven't met one I didn't like! (...so I may be biased) French toast neat: berries were fresh and sweet, toast was a great texture and flavor. We devoured this. Protein and veggie egg white scramble: for a plant based option, this had a good amount of flavor and held up in comparison to the rest of the table! Did add Cholula but I do love to add it to everything. Crab and asparagus omelet: although very good, this one was probably the least memorable dish we had. A bit lacking in flavor but nothing some extra Cholula couldn't fix. Pumpkin spice pancakes: incredible. Not in season anymore I believe but the cream cheese icing on these completely satisfies my sweet tooth. Super sweet, so if you're not a sweets lover perhaps not the best option. This stretch of West U is a bit of a food desert, which is why I was thrilled when Snooze finally opened early last year. Chain businesses are a bit rampant in these parts and while Snooze is no exception, it is one of the only true brunch restaurants along Holcombe. Since the food and service are mostly on point, it makes plenty of sense why there's a line and a wait practically every morning. There are a lot of immediate positives about the setup here: plenty of lot parking, a nice mix of indoor and outdoor tables, and a fresh and clean interior that is well decorated and brightly lit. It's hardly a sports bar, but I appreciate the TV at the bar counter, especially when they've got weekend college football action playing. The food here has been consistent and good. Their selection of various benedicts ("Bennys") is impressive and the hollandaise is excellent. I also appreciate their classics section, which includes the corned beef hash ($13) and spuds deluxe ($14). The latter is hash browns covered with cheese, eggs, and all the fixins. They also have a "plant power" section on their menu, which is all for folks who are veggie friendly and have things like a bravocado toast ($15) and a goldilock'S porridge ($11) My only gripe would be the service. I often find that in breakfast restaurants, the syrup, sugars, and other condiments are partying with the furniture and floors. I was in the mood for a heavy, decadent meal, so I wanted something sweet, hearty, and filling. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Patty, two cage-free eggs, and the pineapple upside-down pancakes. The ingredients for the pineapple upside-down pancakes are buttermilk pancake batter (gluten-free friendly by request), vanilla crème, cinnamon butter, powdered sugar, and slopeside maple syrup. They are their signature house-made buttermilk pancakes with caramelized pineapple chunks, house-made vanilla crème, and cinnamon butter. 10/10 The chicken patties were rich and nicely seasoned. Usually, when you have chicken patties as a substitute, they have a light flavor and leave something to be desired. However, how they make their chicken patties feels super rich and developed, so you feel like it's comparable to a pork sausage. 10/10 The eggs were standard. It tasted great. It is always a good addition to a breakfast! 10/10 The price point here is a bit high, but it's not something I'm going out to eat every day or every morning. I kind of like how on the weekends, they're open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on the weekdays they open at the same time and close a little later at 4:00 p.m. Smart business hours! We sat outside on a sunny day, it was very relaxing and lovely. Service was fast, we had a great time. Everyone working here was very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. We had protein trio omelette, tofu scramble (for a lighter meal) and the infamous pancake flight (chocolate chip, cinnamon roll, and vegan banana berry). If you do sit inside, bring a jacket or sweater. The hostess was very friendly and accommodated our gluten and lactose allergies. The food was a little more mixed. The half-sweet half-spicy Chai latte was delicious (5/5) and the Snooze Breakfast Burrito was great too (5/5)! I'd say the "Short Rib & Gruyere Polenta" was mid: the short ribs & sauteed kale were delicious, but I wasn't a fan of the polenta (kind of like Italian gritz). That might just be my personal preference. I gave it 4 stars only b/c the wait time to get food was kind of long during peak hours (~20-25 minutes). As someone who has been to multiple Snooze locations across the state, I hate to say that the one location located closest to me just falls flat! My poor experience is not necessarily about the food, but more so about the service. Every time I go to Snooze I am pretty consistent with my order. A pork belly habanero Benny and typically some variation of the sweet potato pancake (based on the season). The food took about 20-30 minutes and honestly everything tasted good/comparable to my experiences with snooze at other locations. However, in the 3-4 times I have been to this location the service always falls flat. In this particular experience, we were told our table was ready, and when we got there the tables were dirty with crumbs and drink stains from the previous party. When we brought this to the attention of the hostess, she had an attitude and pretty much acted dismissive towards the situation. Beyond that, our waiter was pretty much MIA during the entirety of our late brunch. Now I can definitely understand if the location is busy, however in my most recent visit the restaurant was not pack. Drinks were never refilled, we tried to get her attention to get more napkins but she was pretty much MIA for at least 10 minutes, and overall the lack of service just really brought this experience down. And again, this is not just an isolated incident but has occurred with every visit at this location. I had high hopes for this location since it's close to the Med Center and has substantial parking, but after my past experiences I am not sure I will be coming back. read more

I am giving this place a 3 because the visit I just finished was 1 star or 0 stars if that was an option. My previous visit would have been 5 stars. Today, I asked the server which was better, the Crab Cake Benedict or the Crab and Asparagus Omelette - he very clearly said he thought the omelette was a better value because it came with hash browns and toast. Didn't sound right when he said it and he was definitely wrong, it did not come with such things and I probably would have gotten the Benedict had he not said that. Next, I asked for the Crab and Asparagus Omelette with no mushroom or onion. He never said there was an issue with the request. It's then served with no asparagus. I really wanted the asparagus so this was frustrating and I thought maybe the kitchen was confused since I had asked for no mushrooms and onions. The server then says the asparagus is premixed with mushrooms and onions. Seems like if someone is ordering a Crab and Asparagus omelette and removing the mushrooms is going to remove the asparagus, mahbe that's worth mentioning. Also, bizarrely, my friend that diner with me had asparagus in their omelette and had zero mushrooms or onions so I really don't understand the situation at all. Snooze is always best fresh, and my friend hasn't tried it before, so we knew that this was a must-go while we were in Houston! We hopped on the Waitlist from our hotel and drove over to the location, waited for like 10 minutes after that and was seated pretty quick. Kudos to any restaurant with Waitlist options! Our service was prompt. They know how to keep things going and moving even while being busy. We went around noon on a weekend and it wasn't too busy. Bestie and I agree that if you come here, you have to order extra hashbrowns because Snooze has the best! They also had flavored mimosas which were so good!
