Indeed I recommend JLB if you've been very diligent about eating well and want to splurge on something that is simply done right! I don't eat meat, but I NEEDED a grilled cheese and an order of onion rings just sounded like the right thing to do, so I did it. My oh my! What I got was the largest grilled cheese sandwich I've ever seen on what I think was brioche bread? It was very much the texture of a croissant and whoa....so tasty! The onion rings were very nice with thick sliced onions so the ratio of onion to batter was perfect. JLB obviously takes changing out the oil in their fryers seriously (as many places don't) because they were fresh and didn't taste like anything that had been deep-fried in the oil previously. This is a real issue for me. I don't want tortilla chips that smell and taste rancid, nor do I want churros that taste like tortilla chips that have been previously fried in the same rancid oil. I have an extremely sensitive olfactory sense, but it lends itself nicely to eating out at establishments that take the care and concern for cleanliness and their patrons. Speaking of cleanliness, JLB is spotless, although to the point the cleaning products smell overwhelm the entire small establishment. I immediately knew when I walked in that I couldn't eat there, but I'm sure glad I ordered to-go! My order was prepped and ready swiftly and too big to eat for just one person so I shared with my neighbor who is recovering from an injury. I ordered a Hamburger with tomatoes n pickles togo two days ago and it was really delicious, juicy, fresh and even the buns were spectacular. I always put this particular spot as top 3 burgers down here with Niko Niko's and Goode Company Hamburgers. It's the best chain burger imo, along with Becks Prime and this particular location nails it every time. I went to another JLB location awhile back that wasn't quite as good. I can't stand the whole b s smash burger trend, but this one is truly an exception here. The high quality Angus beef combined with generous seasoning, just the right amount of outer meat char, very tender n juicy meat core, refreshing tomatoes n pickles and homemade, warm, buttery brioche buns with that gooey feel make it a win. The meat to bread ratio was perfect and not full of too much bread like Whataburger or something. I always have to have tomatoes on my burger and also either pickles or thin, shredded lettuce. Very simple and a great burger, much like a great NY pizza doesn't need much. Many burger places have to add all those onions, excess cheese and sauces to cover up their flawed, bland meat. Omg... I'm not sure how this restaurant never caught my radar. 5/5 flavor, customer service, food quality, all of it is there. I had a crazy burger with no bacon and fries and also some fried Oreos (which I devoured right after snapping a picture). Oh my and those fried Oreos literally melted on my tongue. The burger was soooo juicy and seasoned to perfection. You can tell the chefs crafters the burgers with love and passion. Once my diet is over, I definitely plan to return. This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered the london style fish and chips, and I liked that they gave the option to choose your side of fries, hush puppies, onion rings, or all three. I went with all three. Everything was made fresh and had a nice crispy crunch. The fish was good, but it didn't have much seasoning, so I added some Old Bay and seasoned salt when I got home. The fries needed salt too. I really liked the hush puppy, but I wish they gave more than just one. I had no issues with the service, my food came out quickly after ordering. The ambience inside appeared clean and well kept, which I appreciated. One small thing I noticed, the cashier seemed to also be helping in the back. She came to the register with gloves on and was touching the register. As a healthcare worker, I'd recommend removing gloves before ringing people up. Overall, I'd rate it a 4/5. I would come back and recommend it, but I'd suggest they add more seasoning to the fish batter and directly onto the fish. read more

The ambiance here is atrocious. I can't say it's all the restaurants fault but the noise from the customers all listing to there phones on speaker is crazy. One little girl is live streaming in the corner. A couple guys are reviewing country music on the phone next to me. The brother in front of me is watching tiktok vids all on speaker while the restaurant trys to play 90s music on top of all that. The food came I got the Crazy burger. It's very big, 2 patties (they ask how you'd like it) medium I added mustard to mine after it came. The fries are ok I've had better but they aren't bad. the burger was very good, though it fell apart halfway through. All in all I'd try it again. Placed an online order.Pickup time on the phone said about 15 minutes for it to be ready. I arrived in 10 minutes and was told it would be ready in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later i noticed people were ordering and getting their food while i was still waiting to get my food. I finally asked how much longer and my order is brought out immediately. I ask how long it has been ready for and was told 10-15 minutes. I am trying to understand how i entered, have on a bright red shirt, never left the building, made eye contact with the guy who originally told me 5 minutes countless number of times and my food is ready for 15 minutes and nobody says a word. Meanwhile everyone else was getting their order called out. After admitting the order was ready for 15 minutes I didn't even receive an apology at the least. Stumbled upon this neighborhood restaurant through a random Yelp search. The reviews were good, the food looked good, so I decided to give it a try. I went with the intention of getting a burger and that's exactly what I got. The menu had quite a few offerings though. Fish, chicken sandwiches Pattie melts, even fried Oreos. I ordered a combo which consisted of a bacon cheeseburger, fries & a drink. Total was about $15 which was pricey for lunch, but it was a large portion so that made up for the cost. The burgers are made to order and the wait was minimal. I received my to-go order and headed home. Once I opened the box everything looked amazing. The burger was huge and the thick cut fries were piping hot. My only disappointment was that I didn't receive the bacon that I paid for. I also requested onions but there was no charge for those so no big deal. Despite the missing bacon, the bio was delicious. The huge smash burger style patty definitely filled me up. I ate lunch around 1:30 and that meal kept me full until almost 9pm. I would dine here again, but I will be checking my order before I leave. Also worth noting...despite there being only one person working the counter, she did a great job. She took orders and also kept the table clean between customers. So, now that we tried the food, here are my thoughts. It's a casual dining spot. My daughter and I couldn't decide what we wanted so we decided to share a burger and a fish plate. Let's start with the fish. It was swai in a cornmeal batter. The filet was very thin and fried pretty hard. It is described as Cajun style, but was laking seasoning. Also, this was full cornmeal, not cornmeal and flour combination which is indicative of Cajun style. The plate comes with fries, onion rings and toast, and was a great value for the price. Man, they were HUGE, juicy, luscious, and slid down our throats like velvety Kobe beef (how's that for a description of food!). Yup, that good. I had to wedge the top of the burger into the top of my mouth, then press the bottom of the burger over my bottom teeth just to get my first bite! Did I say there are huge? The fries were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside but 'potato-ey' on the inside. Wendy's and McDonald's, look out! A drink comes with this meal as well. Just for fun, we ordered the "Deep Fried Oreo Cookies". Yes, they really DO have this on the dessert menu. Actually, not very good when fresh but if you take them home and stash them in the reefer overnight they are much better the next day. Today we went back to try the fish and chips. Holy cow, another wonderful meal at JLB! I had the Cajun Catfish while Wifey opted for the Pollock. In the basket were also a couple of hush puppies, BIG onion rings, those wonderful fries, and a slice of what they called cornbread. Actually, the "cornbread" was just a slice of what seemed to be ordinary fried bread - the only disappointing thing about this meal. Oh, and no drink is included with the fish option. I don't want to make a habit of coming here for obvious reasons (deep fried food is not heralded as the best stuff FOR you, even if it is the best stuff on earth!). Found out that JLB Eaterys and Joy Love Burgers are the same. Want a Crazy Burger? Both places have them. Today I tried the Bacon Avocado Burger and it was very tasty. Came wit' an angus beef patty, cheese, crispy bacon, avocado, mayo, lettuce, tomato and pickle. I got it as a combo 'cause it's cheaper, the combo came with a drink and fries or onion rings, the onion rings were amazing. Our grandbaby got some tater tots, since i'm the official tester/taster....I gave them 5 stars, crisp exterior and a soft inside...yum. My wife got the Shrimp basket, she went with London Style Fish & Chips instead of Cajun Style. The shrimp plate came with fries, onion rings and toast, the lady that patiently and politely waited on us provided tartar sauce and cocktail sauce for the shrimp. A tad more breading than we like but still 5 stars. You can see by the windows in the building....it started life as a Pizza Hut. We will be back for more goodies. read more

Solid neighborhood location for a great burger. Although a local chain of about 13 locations, JLB delivers on a quality giant burger that is full of flavor. Having been to both this location and the Memorial locations, I can attest to the bacon avocado burger being solid as well as the tasty crispy waffle fries. We also tried the London style fish and chips and they were pretty solid. The cajun chicken wings were super crunchy and delicious as well. I had the fried catfish sandwich. Nice portion with size but the fish was not seasoned. Needed salt and pepper or Cajun seasoning.

This food was terrible and no seasoning. I didn't even ask for a replacement because of how bad the taste of this was. They are sell swai catfish which isn't even a real thing. The fish doesn't taste or break apart like catfish. Onion rings had so much batter that that's all you could taste. I'm not sure who's eating this stuff but I don't know how they're open honestly.
