Sometimes, they have a Pecan-Crusted Trout that is to die for. My last Pecan-Crusted Trout almost was as big as the dinner plate. It was "Absolutely fabulous"! The Bellaire location has none of the ambience of the large location near the Heights that has dancing and live music. It's just a restaurant. Simple order at the cash and then pick up when they call you. The burgers are reliably great, especially the West Texas burger, and the fajita salad is a standard for my spouse. Fried foods are iffy - sometimes great hot and fresh, sometimes crusty and room temp. It's a good deal for the price, fast and has a variety for everyone, including veggie burgers. Good place to bring kids because it's noisy, concrete floor so messes are easily cleaned, and they have video games. read more

My go to things here are the tenders, caesar salad, nachos, and loaded fries. Their menu covers all the diner classics from burgers to salads. The food here is portioned on the larger (TX) size and all cooked/prepped fresh right after you order. This place was hopping for lunch today! We split an original Jax burger and Buffalo wings. We requested extra crispy on the fries and the wings and they definitely delivered! The wing sauce definitely had a kick and the fries were well seasoned. The brioche bun was delicious and the meat was a tad on the dry side but overall had good flavor. We almost got up charged for extra burger ingredients but luckily we kept an eye on the register. We ate outside which was enjoyable! The food came out quickly and the prices are reasonable. My food was yummy and very flavorful. I got the grilled chicken with pico and Monterrey Jack cheese, rice pilaf and a baked potato for my sides. The chicken breast was tender and cooked to perfection. The baked potato was great, and the rice pilaf had just the right amount of flavor. My hubby got the fried catfish and it was jumbo and didn't even really fit in the plate but he gave it a 6 out of ten for flavor. My kiddo got the chicken tenders and fries with ranch and she enjoyed it. We ordered through door dash and all my special requests were honored from the restaurant. Had such a pleasant experience here today! From my understanding, this Jax Grill recently underwent some renovations and was closed for some time. My boyfriend and I visited today after missing Jax for months. Upon walking in, we could tell this was a new and improved restaurant! The decor inside and their technology all got a much needed "face lift", from a bright, easy-to-read digital menu, to beautifully remodeled booths. We were ecstatic with the new energy of the entire place. Ordered a Jax cheeseburger, chicken fried chicken, and their green chile queso with chips. Everything was more delicious than I remembered, and I'm so excited to return. Towards the end of our meal, we had to notify the staff of a minor leak from rain that had suddenly come in, and the manager was so apologetic and genuine when he approached us. We weren't upset at all, but he gifted us a complimentary slice of their Strawberry Tres Leches cheesecake (so light and fluffy!!) as a kind gesture.
