As a whole, I admire what KP's is attempting to do with the community. They offer affordably priced food (#1), simple and tasty casual fare, and keep it relatively flexible for all folks (dates, families, group dining, etc.) by providing excellent service, and a consistent experience every time. Similarly to their more popular location in Memorial (#2), this outside of this Bellaire spot doesn't immediately tell the full story. The interior has an industrial vibe, with the high ceilings and overhead fixtures, but as converted into a solid dining space. The large tilted mirrors in the main area are reminiscent of the now defunct Helen's (#3) and makes for a fun (or perhaps distracting) visual. The spacious layout allows breathing room for all kinds of groups. Service has been good overall, and prompt throughout every visit. The American bistro inspired menu has a decent amount of variety that spans from brunch to a tasty weeknight dinner and a drink. Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning. Their bacon double cheeseburger has been deemed "insta-famous" and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's juicy, a little messy, but a lot delicious. It paired well with their large cut fries (consider upgrading to the truffle fries), but the house made chips are also a good light bite. Their salads are equally fabulous from their classic caesar to a hearty cobb salad. I wasn't as impressed with the crunchy Asian salad, but thought their faro salad was a thumbs up. Understandably, the priciest meals are some of their grilled and house specialty meals, such as a prime tenderloin filet ($42), Mediterranean roasted redfish ($36), twelve hour ribs ($29), and rosemary-lemon chicken ($29), all of which are solid. I feel the buttermilk chicken tender platter ($19) is really meant for children, but is great for any tender lover in the bunch. Came hungry. Left extremely satisfied and mildly emotionally attached to the Brussels sprouts and the pimento cheese. Started with the pimento cheese app, which came with such a generous portion that they brought extra bread--because running out of bread before running out of pimento cheese would've been a crime. Creamy, flavorful, and very "just one more bite" energy. For mains, I had the pork chop and my husband had the ribs, and we both chose wisely. Everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as a side thinking we were being responsible adults... turns out they were secretly the star of the meal. Drinks were also on point. I like our local KPs. The service is always on point, and the manager stops by and says hi. Food always comes out on a reasonable amount of time and the stay on top of drink refills. We've been for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The only miss I've had to date was the quiche (unfortunately really overcooked, but not intolerable enough to send back or make a big deal of). I really enjoy the French dip- I find myself getting that at lunch time or brunch. I've tried a few of their dinner specials, one of them recently has been the branzino, which was fantastic. My guys (the hubs and the child) the hubs and the child) both have wonderful things to say about the burgers. KPs is a nice somewhere between casual and a little nicer restaurant - with good food and good service. All in all you can't really go wrong here. Pricing is reasonable and they have a specials on things throughout the week (like kids eat free Tuesdays, burger night etc). read more

My Auntie has been wanting to try this restaurant since they opened and she read the reviews. Yesterday was her birthday, so we took her there for birthday brunch. The food was exceptional and everyone loved their meals, from Buttermilk Fried Chicken, to salmon with veggies, to double cheeseburger, to fish n chips oh, and the Brussel Sprouts left us all speechless. I can't wait to go back for the 4-6 PM smaller plate menu items and the happy hour deals! We were warmly greeted and served by multiple very delightful restaurant personnel from appetizer to entrees and other small requests. Everyone was pleasant and truly seemed to enjoy their work. I love it when I experience this level of care and attention in a restaurant. The place is not too small and not massive in size like many of the chains. It's just right and lovely decor with huge mirrors so you're not staring at a blank wall. Very well thought out concept and menu choices. The menu offers much more than online. I believe a true sign of a quality restaurant with fresh ingredients, has a menu that says "ask what our Chef is cooking today" which was the case for a few of the menu choices. Indeed I asked about them all! The two soup choices today were both vegetarian and although I didn't order either, both sounded scrumptious! I am not done with KP's and will be back...soon! My daughters and I tried KP's in Bellaire for brunch, and it was a nice spot with a fair number of vegetarian options--not mind-blowing, but definitely enough to work with. We got there around 1:30 PM (brunch runs until 3:00 PM), and while we were offered the brunch menu, we ended up ordering from the lunch menu instead. My daughters went with the rigatoni without the meat, and they really liked it. The staff was super accommodating in helping us find good vegetarian options. I had the house veggie burger with fries, which was good, but the pasta was definitely the better pick. The pasta had a nice buttery garlic flavor! Service was friendly, the restaurant was clean and well-decorated, and I noticed that they had a private room for larger groups. Next time, we'll actually go for brunch and try the French toast and request a vegetarian version of Eggs Benedict! Looking forward to going back. read more

Very low lighting-a little too dark for me-gave it a romantic feel but the music included the song YMCA, 1990s hip hop and 1980s pop songs that along with sports on TVs sends mixed signals. The house salad was delicious. Fresh greens, not too astringent radishes and the vinaigrette was so good. I'd like the recipe. The chicken tenders and fries were just meh. Lacked seasoning and they lacked the girth and juiciness I'd expect from a tender and a bit dry. I think there's potential here. I know KP has a reputation for good food so I will be back. I decided to go to this location as I read reviews that the food was good. The location has plenty of parking as it is in a small plaza with front a rear parking. Open walking in I was greeted and offered to be seated as I had a reservation. The ambiance is so cute and clean. All staff were friendly and checked in during my visit. I decided to order off the restaurant month menu which was $39 for a three course meal. I ordered the spinach dip, lemon chicken, orzo and spinach as well as the fluffy cake. I did not like any of the food. The spinach dip wasn't creamy or flavored and the chicken, orzo, and cake was bland. When I informed them I didn't like the spinach dip the offered me chicken bites in which the food was hot looked good but lacked flavor and seasoning. I was just surprised as I haven't gone somewhere in a long time where I didn't like anything I ordered. In addition, I ordered a smoked Old Fashioned which was good and regular that was just okay. It was our first time and will definitely not be our last. We had the most wonderful service with Annalisa (I hope I spelled that correctly). We went for the Thursday night special and had the 16 oz ribeye which was so tender and well seasoned. The starters were exceptional, especially the butternut squash soup. They comped some truffled deviled eggs for us since it was our first time dining and they were a religious experience to say the least. Additionally, they sent out the cheesecake which was the perfect way to end such a decadent meal. Overall, it was one of the most attentive and special dining experiences I've ever had. This location has been in Bellaire a while now. I have been twice and pleased bit he's times and will go again. Service was a little behind when they were new but 2nd visit they had everything running smooth. Mains dishes are great and fancy cocktails are tasty.
