The restaurant itself is wonderful with lots of seating but it did get very busy this Saturday morning. The food was delicious! And so many options on the menu! I started with a chai and I really loved the flavor and warmth of the spices. Let's talk about the amazing omelette! I had the California omelette which had bacon, cheese, avocado and tomatoes. I am surprised at the great reviews. I really wanted to like this place but it's 3.5 stars at best. It's a bustling, casual brunch place. At peak times, waits are long. At 12:30, we only waited 15 minutes. Staff are friendly and accommodating but mistakes were made so as a celiac diner I get nervous. I was so excited by the abundance of GF options and their safety protocols, but the food itself (1/2 GF Lemon Pecan Pancake & 1/2 GF Benedict) were a 3/5. So disappointing. Hubby gave his food & coffee a decided "meh." My companions did enjoy the $.99 mimosas, bloody marys, & tequila sunrises, so that's something. read more

I ordered an expresso martini out of curiosity and it was REALLY good. I also had the vegan buffaquiles. So so good: flavorful, spicy, fresh. My husband had the simple burger with an extra patty and sweet potato fries. He said everything about it was spot on. I had some of his sweet potato fries and they were also amazing. Despite the long lines, they were able to get us in relatively quickly. Once in we were seated and served super fast, but we never felt rushed. Nickolas was an outstanding waiter! He rocks. Chicken and French toast was good. The California omelet had next to no bacon. Don't think we'd ever order that again. A couple other bummers were the biscuits and gravy and the home style potatoes. Biscuit was burned, gravy was more like a chicken gravy than bfast, and the potatoes were very underwhelming. Will leave them off entirely next time. This is an amazing brunch place and definitely worth the hype! There is parking in the lot in front but it fills up pretty quickly. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations, but luckily we stayed at the hotel right across so we could put our names down and wait until the rest of our group showed up. They don't sit you until the whole group shows up, but we're super accommodating since our party size changes a few times. Our waitress was super sweet and helped us with subbing and replacing items in our meal. I went with the French toast chicken sandwich which came with a side of eggs and potatoes. The chicken was delicious and paired well with the French toast. The potato's were spiced well and really tasty and the eggs were good as well. I went with the hot pumpkin chai which I really liked since it wasn't too sweet and spiced well. Definitely recommend this spot for brunch if you are in the area! read more

The Buff was super packed on a Saturday for brunch. Our server (Anton, Eton, Aton no tag and I forgot to ask) was on it, happy, helpful and kept my coffee topped off and warm. I recently visited this highly popular establishment - for weekend brunch no less. I wasn't so sure leading up to the visit - I'd gone for lunch there around 2012 in their old location and didn't have the inkling to go back. Now I can say It's def one of my faves. While there isn't much for seating and no wait list our 60+ minute wait went reasonably quickly thanks to the bartenders who were happy to mix you up tasty beverages - coffee, Bloody Mary, juice and more. When we were called up we had a choice to sit inside or out. We chose outside - and our neighboring table had the 2 cutest doggies that enjoyed some of my food with me. Be forewarned some of the tables are quite close together. My torso was just an inch or two from the table for pretty much the whole meal. The options were aplenty and the food came out quick! I went for an iced white Buffalo mocha drink - delicious! For the main event I chose biscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes and two sunny side up eggs. There was only 1 biscuit and a small dish of gravy tho it was as enough to fill me up. The breakfast potatoes were outstanding! I'd come back for these alone. While I didn't imbibe one of my brunch mates partook in the .99 cent bloody Mary's with her meal. Rumor has it you can get up to 3 per person. Buff was right across from Mariott in Boulder. The service staff was extremely friendly and they had plenty of vegan options on their menu. Before going, I had read the review about their vegan pancakes, and I must say, they were spot on. The pancakes were delicious. Their best vegan dish was the vegan skillet though out of all the things that we tried. The server did seem to forget that I was vegan, so she kept recommending things with egg and each time, corrected herself. The place has very much a big diner vibe, portion sizes were huge. The original Buff was great. The new location Buff was good. and fast forward to now--just meh. We came around 11 on a Friday and there were 25 people or more waiting outside and in the parking lot. After 30 min we were seated and ordered our food. Huevos, Benedict and the Two Step. all came out rapidly--too rapidly. food was rewarmed and the eggs were fresh made, but the food was just blah. One could sense that these were all pre-made skillet dishes that were put through the salamander and topped with fresh eggs. The potatoes were too salty, the rest of the food was a disappointment and we left half of each dish as it wasn't worth finishing. The link sausages were dried out and tough, the french toast was rubbery and the potatoes were salty. The huevos were a disappointment in flavor and presentation. We tried this place 3 times since moving back here in July and this will be our last visit. The Village breakfasts and pancakes are superior in freshness and flavor and the mexican and egg dishes at the Parkway are far better tasting and consistently good. What a pity. Boulder used to have fewer restaurants, but they all executed their specialties consistently well. We are finding this to not be the case any longer so we are getting pickier about where we go so that we actually enjoy the food. read more

Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Boulder! The wait can be pretty long, so I would plan accordingly. Service has been nice at times that I've been there and other times service hasn't really paid any attention to my table. The food is yummy, especially their potatoes with how crispy they are and the seasoning on them as well. So far, everything that I have had from there has been delicious! While traveling for work. I asked where I should eat and this was their first recommendation. Let's be honest, "Eating in the BUFF!" is a great slogan. I came for the breakfast and was glad I did. I tried another local spot but The Buff is much better. I ordered "The Med" omelet w/potatoes, a bagel, cream cheese and preserves. An orange juice and coffee. The OJ was good but next time I'll order the pint, because the small is basically a shot glass for the amount that I normally drink. I did not have to look far to see that the staff seemed to enjoy working here as it showed in their service. The restaurant was very clean and the service was much faster than I had expected. With the number of guests, I anticipated waiting longer for my food. However when it came out, it was quick, hot, fresh, flavorful and enough to fill just about any appetite. The 99 cent "drinks" (limit 3) with an entree are weak and gimmicky but probably help get the younger twenty-somethings into the restaurant. I am currently in a food coma state since I had no self control on my shameless gluttony. Well this is a rare feeling if you are gluten free, and dairy free. I usually come to the buff to celebrate special days, and not at all because of the price, but just because of the ambiance and vibe. I have not had fried chicken this good and GF. They mentioned that they make crumbs out of their GF bread. The flavor and texture was perfection. Reminded me of the south. If you can't find GF chicken & waffles, then this is the next best thing. They did ask if we are celiac and we are not, I am not sure how that changes things... maybe just the oil they fry in? Ole is a delicious & popular skillet if you love southwest flavors. The coffee is pretty good too, not the best in Boulder since we have so many epic coffee shops. But it's still a good cup of latte, and I'd order it if I am there for breakfast. The wait. We went there after a hike between 9 and 9:15am on a Saturday morning and our wait was around 15 minutes or less. I think thats kind of like the cut off. It you go there after 9:30am especially on a Saturday... it will get crowded and you will have a longer wait. Parking can also be a problem after 9:00am but we have gotten lucky and always find a spot... the only available spot. This breakfast costed us $41, and honestly it could feed 3 people. The staff is absolutely lovely and very patient esp. considering how busy it gets on Saturday mornings. read more
