A classic diner spot that seems to have reliable breakfast food every time! It's open early which is nice, and the staff are super friendly. It's also fun to see the chefs cook hashbrowns, eggs, pancakes, and more in the open kitchen!

Egg burrito split into 2 portions for sharing and a stack of blueberry pancakes

I've read rave reviews about this place and knew I had to give it a try for myself. Came here for a late breakfast with my family and snagged the last booth. The place was hopping and quite loud for the small restaurant it is, but the vibes were great! A family member and I were going to share the egg burrito, and they were thoughtful enough to split the entree for us--we didn't even ask for them to do so. Bonus points for that. And of course we had to get the famous blueberry pancakes...boy oh boy were they the best I've ever had. Fluffy, plenty of blueberries, and oh so light. I can't stand it when the pancakes are so dense you can barely eat any of it. Service was fast and the woman who took our order and brought us our food was super outgoing and friendly. She even put the menu on the table when I was taking pics of the food so people would know what restaurant I was at lol. See picture below for reference. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.

Diner feel inside but it was so nice we opted to dine outside at the tables on the side. Seemed to be one guy working and he was kicking butt. Food was delicious and prices aren't bad either.

Smothered Egg Burrito. The best ever.

I can't believe it's taken so long for this review! Sorry, this will be a long review. While working in Boulder for 25 years, we would visit every week! Now, I work in Denver, but still manage to get up there and enjoy my favorite restaurant in the entire Denver-metro area! Nestled next to the University of Colorado campus, the Village Coffee Shop sits in a small strip mall on the west side of Folsom. CU students know this place well--it's a rite of passage to eat here! Entree: - Smothered Egg Breakfast Burrito ($8.50). I've eaten almost everything on their menu, and they're all fantastic! Yet, this Burrito is so unique in flavor, and so filling! The Green Chile is mild (for those concerned about spiciness), and it's hearty, flavorful, and compliments the Burrito so well! The Hashed Browns are perfect. Crunchy, toasted brown with a moist interior. I asked their Chef how they made them--and he gave me the secret to cooking their hashed browns. It's the oil they use! Shhh! Meal includes toast, and you definitely get a great meal and a fantastic price! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Drink: - Milk ($1.50). This isn't your milk from a carton! This is milk from those large bladders they put into a refrigerated stainless steel dispenser--like you get at an old-fashioned Soda Fountain/Malt Shoppes! Just order it! You won't regret it! Service: Always greet you with a smile, take your order fast, and deliver your food quickly. They recognize students and professionals have short meal breaks, so they take care of you! Ambiance: The walls are decorated with paintings from "Grandpa" and CU memorabilia. It's eclectic and simple. Overall: If I could give 10 stars, this would be the ONLY restaurant that would earn those stars. Yes, it's that good! Plus, if you've never been, be sure to tell them it's your first time! They will give you a special welcome!! Now, go get visit them!

This establishment has been in town for decades and you can see why....line out the door, fast and quick service with fresh food and friendly service. Lots of great menu options for breakfast. It was fun as we got called out for being "VILLAGE VIRGINS" to the whole restaurant which of course was met with cheers and applause. Well done people, this is how you feel community! Love it here and will be back!

Been coming since 1976 and yet to be disappointed. Always safe harbor when looking for a port after the storm.

We were greeted by a great hostess with an excellent sense of humor. They were able to accommodate our party of 7 at a round table that still had plenty of elbow room for all of us. Our server, Michelle, greeted us right away and provided recommendations on their coffee and drinks. She was energetic and fun - we loved her genuine interaction with us! The food came fairly quickly considering they were nearly full. I chose the cinnamon roll French toast (chef's kiss!!) and hubby had the basic breakfast. We shared our meals so we could each have something sweet and savory. My niece had the Heartland Skillet and said it was to die for! I don't think there was much on the menu where you could go wrong. And bonus - they offer a breakfast cocktail for 99 cents with an entree order. You can get up to 3. This is an excellent choice for brunch (service and food!) and we will return next time we are in Boulder!
