got the Big Dill Energy, eggs were nice and runny . Staff was very attentive and present. My only qualm is that the "dill" sauce advised was actually tzatziki. Grabbed brunch here on my way out of town and it was fine. The breakfast menu is incredibly egg and bread heavy, it either is egg based or bread based and not much else. I ended up getting the vegan skillet because I don't like eggs or bread and I don't like seitan either but I like it more than eggs or bread, I ended up picking all the seitan out because it's gross. Ordered a mocha which comes in a glass cup (???) so it gets cold very fast and is messy to drink since there's no handle, why not put coffee in a mug like literally every other restaurant on earth? The food quality was good, but it's a lot of "health food" like gluten free pancakes, which my daughter ordered but thought were gross. Since we don't have severely restricted diets we won't be back but if you have a bunch of food allergies or self imposed food restrictions it could be worth a try, I'd like to see more options that don't rely on eggs or bread and more traditional breakfast options. The inside is cute and the staff was very nice but the menu is just so lacking and what they do have isn't for me. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have special dietary needs. read more

Found this place on Yelp! that had good gluten free options; breakfast I find its always the most difficult meal to find good food for. It's a pretty classic oldschool diner, booths, tables, bar seating, and outdoor tables; plus sports magazines of [I'm assuming] athletes from CO. We sat at the bar and ordered some coffees, and got to watch them make it - they were oversweet in our opinion, too much milk and spice. The waffle was really good and came with quality fruit - not all of that melon junk! :p We got turkey patty and vegan, both of which were good, but they mixed up the orders a bit - though we were able to tell which ones they were. Went in feeling great. Left feeling terrible. Let my server know about my food allergies as soon as I came in. She obviously didn't communicate these clearly to the cooks, or just didn't care, as I got really sick Noone asked me how my food was or even cared enough to notice the pained look on my face, or the fact that I was holding my stomach in pain. The ambiance was really lively. I appreciate the outdoor heaters to keep it cozy if you don't want to sit inside. Service was fast but there are a few discrepancy such as....we ate our full meal and we still didnt get water. Usually water comes first....I saw some people waited to be seated. But the hostess totally forgot if they have been help or not. So it just turns to be a door jam full of people. The place was small so it really crowded the restaurant. My ice caramelita latte was lovely! Tasted like a warm chocolate milk with a hint of coffee. Eggs were enjoyable but the breakfast potatoes was a bit cold and had some odd seasoning that I couldn't put my fingers on. Same with the turkey sausage. My husband and I stayed at an Airbnb right up the street and the host recommended the walnut café. When we got there, there were a lot of people sitting in the outdoor area, but we were seated almost right away. The outdoor area was great because almost everyone had a dog so it was fun to see all the pups enjoying the sun. We had the most lovely server who was attentive and super friendly. Our food was delicious! I altered the egg sandwich to have it on a bagel, and I also added avocado, we got the blueberry cornbread, and pancakes. My only complaint is that the coffee tasted burnt. My dad's food arrived cold, and my mom had to wait 10 minutes for her French toast after the rest of our meals were served (doesn't it only take a minute to make French toast?). My dad and I ordered breakfast burritos and asked for sides of salsa, which honestly should have come with the dish. When we got the bill, I saw we were charged $2.50 each for the salsas--$5 in total. The waitress didn't mention this, and typically, sides like that are priced at 50 cents to $1. The portion was also larger than expected, so we could have easily shared one if we had known. To top it off, the salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce, so we didn't even use it. Not vegan friendly. Almost feels this place tries to make it difficult for vegans. Example--the plant based sausage could have been a candidate for vegans--except they chose a brand with egg whites when there's many plant-based choices on the market. None of the pancakes can be made vegan, and they serve pork and red meat while marketing themselves to the natural foods/plant based community. If you are vegan and want to eat here, hope you like salad (paid 2.50 fir "half" an avocado that was about 1/3 of one--and some of it bruised with black spots. read more

I have nothing bad to say about Walnut Cafe. It is OMG-Delicious! I went for the first time with a friend and was very happy she recommended it to me. I had their delicious hot chocolate. It is made with real cocoa and had a mound of whipped cream on top. For my meal I had the banana walnut French toast and it was filled with flavor. So sweet and amazing. I also had their breakfast potatoes which had a lot of yummy seasoning. The restaurant inside is small but has a ton to look at with very unique artwork all around. They also have a small area to eat outside with heat lamps too. The service was wonderful and the food came out fast. Highly, highly recommend. I will for sure be back soon! read more

This was a great spot for brunch. They have a large number of tables outside under the covered patio. The tables are 6 feet away and masks are required unless you're eating or drinking. The Denver omelette was tasty and I had a delicious iced coffee. I'm off my game and can't remember the name of it! However, if you look at the menu it's noted as a best seller. The patio is dog friendly and the waitress hooked up my fur baby with his own bowl of water. ;) I will definitely come back next time I'm in Boulder. read more

I got a pretty boring food item--the equivalent to an avocado toast--and I am sorry to say that it was prepared pretty sub par. The dry piece of toast was not even toasted, completely soft with zero brown or crunch at all, also inedible. The potatoes were almost great tho i did bite into a few that were undercooked and hard. The "dill sauce" I got a side of is just ranch. I ordered a coffee and had to ask a busser for my coffee and never got topped off.
