    Smoked Salmon & Avocado Sandwich
    Ryan S.

I really wanted to love this place. We chose Alpine Modern over the Potbelly right next door because a couple menu items looked good. It also looked very clean and friendly inside. Unfortunately, we walked away disappointed. My wife ordered the Turkey & Avocado sandwich and I had the Smoked Salmon & Avocado Sandwich with Brie. Both tasted good, but there wasn't much to them. I'd be surprised if either sandwich had 3oz of protein. In fact, the smoked salmon consisted of one (1) thin transparent slice per half. The turkey sandwich had three (3) slices of processed meat. The avocado mash and Brie were also thin layers. I guess if you like fresh arugula and toasted bread, then this is your place. Considering the amount they charge for these sandwiches, I suppose I was just hoping for more. Perhaps, their coffee and breakfast items are better? Next time I'm craving a sandwich, I think I'll try Potbelly.

Alpine Modern - Boulder, CO Alpine Modern is the perfect blend of aesthetic minimalism and bold flavor. I stopped in for breakfast and was genuinely impressed--not just by the chic, Scandinavian-inspired atmosphere, but by how well-executed each dish was. I had the bacon breakfast croissant, and it was a standout. Buttery, flaky layers wrapped around perfectly cooked bacon and eggs--it was indulgent without being too heavy. The classic avocado toast was fresh and balanced, served on thick, crusty bread with just the right touch of citrus and seasoning. Simple, but done really well. To drink, I went with the strawberry matcha, which was smooth and slightly sweet--an unexpected but refreshing combo that didn't overpower the matcha. Great vibes, great food, and a place I'd definitely revisit whether for a relaxed morning or a quick bite between exploring Boulder.

My second attempt here was perfect. I was greeted, offered help with my order, all three people behind the counter interacted with me and I felt welcome! My coffee and sandwich hit the spot! I enjoyed hanging out for a bit and was able to leave the outside world outside.

'Tis the season... of pumpkin spice latte! We are traveling in Colorado this weekend and I was curious to see what sort of PSL yummies were in store. We stopped at alpine modern cafe, a cute little shop in what seemed to be an outdoor shopping center. I ordered the pumpkin spice latte which came with honey and cinnamon for a special twists. I require a dairy free milk and they had macadamia nut milk! It was so creamy and sweet. A lovely flavor addition to my latte. customer service was great and I saw many patrons with their lap tops working.

Alpine Modern is my go-to for good coffee in Boulder, CO. In my personal experience, the food has been hit-or-miss. Some dishes leave me wanting more (food, seasoning, warmth, moisture, etc) while others hit the spot with no room for improvement (looking at you, Blueberry Ricotta Tartine). My favorite location is the one near the Hill, but the one in the 28th street mall is the Corporate Older Sister which is nice for meeting larger groups.

Cute little breakfast place in Boulder, nice light atmosphere on the inside, and lots of yummy choices for coffees and sandwiches. Iced Vanilla Latte - delicious. 10/10. A little overpriced. 7$ for a medium with flavoring. Salmon & Avocado - 8/10. Could've used more salmon. Wish it had cream cheese on it. Ham & Gruyere - 7/10. Too bready, it took up most of the bite. Flavor of the ham and cheese was very good though. Only concern is that this place is overpriced. It was $40 for two coffees and two sandwiches. Even at Starbucks this would've been $30.

A standout detail is that all their flavorings and syrups are made in-house, which really elevates the drinks. You can even buy small bottles of their syrups in-store. Service Service is quick and friendly. The baristas are especially helpful in explaining pastries and flavor profiles, which makes it easier to try something new. Ambience The cafe has a vintage cottage, cozy vibe with plenty of nooks and crannies -- perfect for both conversation or getting some work done. I'm always a bit hesitant to order black coffee (my beverage of choice) when I'm out, due to the bitterness and acidity levels, but the coffee was surprisingly smooth here. Granted, I opted for the light roast, but it's all in the way it's brewed. Considering this is Pearl Street, where things can be a bit overpriced, the prices here were quite reasonable. Plus the service here is pretty great--super friendly. I'd definitely come back if I'm ever wandering around the area.

This is a super solid coffee spot that should be in your Boulder coffee rotation. Bonus - they offer goat milk as a milk alternative!

We had heard of this cafe as they had been food hosts at a party at a Kühl on Pearl and were hoping to actually eat in their cafe when they coincidentally moved next door to one of our favorite local eateries. We were in the neighborhood around lunchtime so we stopped in when we arrived it was busy, by the time we left, it was packed. It's a unique menu fit for most palates and healthy as can be. It attracts athletes if all ages, healthy eaters of all types. You won't find much meat but there is some. It also as an Asian flair with offerings of congee and fried chicken sides, fish, rice and veggies of all sorts including kimchi . Japanese egg salad sandwiches too. That's one I need to try next time. Today we both chose the mushroom congee with 7 minute egg and a hot drink. A spicy chai with oat milk for my husband and berry hibiscus tea for me. We both enjoyed our meals but just a bit too much garlic for me but just right for my husband and must others too. I loved the volumes of mushrooms and the sprinkles of spices on the whole egg. The egg was done perfectly. My husband brought home a side order of popcorn chicken as I will be at a meeting so he will be eating dinner alone. The service was great, everyone friendly and helpful the cafe bright and clean and the ordering counter moves fast. They deliver to and clear the tables. More quick casual places should do this to avoid the piles of debris at bins in the seating area I often see. There is a flat panel screen on the wall featuring cyclists in the wild given that energy snacks were the first products of this company and much for sale here too. The mix of diners covered the spectrum of adults you would expect in Boulder. This cafe is only breakfast and lunch so come when convenient earlier in the day. Parking is free and always available in this center. Lots of construction around the intersection so plan your trip to get into the lot via Alpine and not Broadway. That Broadway construction will be ongoing for a while. It's also a good place to arrive by bike. Pricing was very affordable and variety of meals wide.
